Pebblepaw nodded, padding forward with his head high. “I’m up for it. After all Ivysong is gonna need all the food she can get after having her kits” he said with confidence.

(( @stormpetal Ivysong is having her kits! I don't want you to miss out )) After a moment of catching her breath the queen feebly turned her head to look at her kit when it started to mew. She could see its handsome black and grey stripped pelt and the queen couldn't help but purr at the sight of her kit.

FallenDew felt along the queen's belly before nodding. "Get ready." She then saw the queen's body tense and nodded. "Push!" After a bit of a struggle since the queen was already tired the next kit was born. PoolingWater grabbed the kit and do the same to it as its sibling until it too mewled and started to squirm around.

( will be very poofy, performing tonight)
Nettlemask had curled himself up beside his mate, offering a shoulder for her to rest her head on and his pelt in place of the moss which would have otherwise made her nest. Eyes wide with panic as he watched his tired mate struggle. “It’s beautiful,” he told her.

Ivysong leaned against her mate comfortingly, glad to have him by her side. The warrior queen then cringed as she pushed and the second kit came out, a beautiful calico she kit, and once again she dropped her head in exhaustion. For a brief moment the queen wasn't sure she would make it through the kitting but the moment after she thought that she heard the meowing of her kits and it sparked something deep within her something that gave her the energy to push through.

Arcticstrike nodded happy to have them join him and took the lead down the path and back into the forest. "Let's just stay within ear shot, so do not stray too far", the white warrior said to the apprentice and Wolfshadow.

FallenDew didn't even have enough time to warn the queen of the next pain. It seemed her body was plenty ready to just birth these kits as the third was born as a large pain could seen ripple through the queen's pelt. "I'm sorry. I didn't have enough time to warn you about that one." The medicine cat then looked over and saw PoolingWater was already busy doing the same for the new kit as she had done for its siblings.
(She has four kits right?)

Pebblepaw nodded, keeping to the right of Arcticstrike, but a few paces behind him. He kept his ears priced and was surprised by the small sounds of critters he could hear. He hadn't realized how barren Hollowclan had been before, but just being a good distance away made this area sound a lot more filled up. He knew this wasn't the home they were looking for, but the familiar feelings of Hollowclan's olden days comforts Pebblepaw greatly as he hunts with Arcticstrike and Wolfshadow.

The queen flinched at the unexpected contraction and did her best to push, the kit barely coming out all the way. It took Ivysong all she had to just simply breath and lay there. "I'm so tired", she managed to say in broken words. Having journeyed this far and then on top of that having kits, she filled with worry as she didn't think she could carry on.
Arcticstrike soon cought the scent of mice and darted off after one. Chasing it down and catching it just before it made it to it's burrow. Quickly dispatching it with a firm bite the white tom picked it up and returned back to the group. "Pebblepaw why don't you get the next one", he said to the apprentice.

PoolingWater laid the kit next to its siblings and smiled at IvySong. "Come on, you're doing wonderful." She nudged the queen's flank softly. "You can do this."

Pebblepaw nodded. He lowered his haunches, listening to the sounds of the forest. Opening his mouth to catch a scent, he caught one all too familiar. Squirrel. Keeping low, Pebblepaw narrowed his eyes, just seeing the hidden brown rodent scurrying in the dirt. Creeping each paw forward carefully until he was close enough, he lunged forward. He winced as he landed a little too early, landing on the squirrel's tail. It was enough to stall the squirrel and regain his own footing as Pebblepaw bit its neck and claimed it as his own. It was a success, though it was messy.

Ivysong did her best to push the last kit out but was unable to finish and stopped halfway through causing the kit to get stuck. "I can't", she meowed breathing heavily all her energy completely gone.

FallenDew started to massage the queen's flank and gestured to PoolingWater. "Get ready to help." She then spoke to IvySong. "Come on, just one more bug push. You need to do this IvySong, for your kit."

Ivysong could barley hold her eyes open and gathered up all her strength and gave the final push causing the last kit to finally come out. Once she was finished the queen passed out her head landing on her mate. The poor kit laid there unmoving for a few moments before showing a small signs of life.

PoolingWater immediately nipped open the sack surrounding the kit and began to lick at it. The kit lay unmoving for moments upon moments until it finally batted out blindly with a paw as it let out a small mewl. The she-cat sighed in relief before picking up each kit one by one and setting them at their mother's belly.
--
FallenDew sighed in relief when the final kit mewled and then tapped IvySong to wake her back up. "Come on. You need to eat these borage leaves. After that you can rest." She nudged the leaves toward the queen.

Arcticstrike watched as Pebblepaw returned with a squirrel, "Good catch!", The warrior congratulated. "Let's each try to catch one more and then that should be enough for the clan on top of the pile that Leopardfrost has already started. I think it would be wise to be back to the others before dark." With that said the tom placed his mouse in a crevasse before scenting out the air for another prey to catch.
Ivysong blinked her eyes open and gingerly at the leaves before laying back down to sleep. She had four beautiful kit and the queen felt accomplished that she had them in a safer place than within the territory close to the wolves.

FallenDew sighed and nodded to PoolingWater before padding off to find CreekStar. When she finally found the tom she sat down by him, curling her tail around her paws. "IvySong now has 3 toms and a she-cat. They all appear to healthy. IvySong is resting now."

Creekstar looked over to Fallendew as she approached him. After hearing that it was a success the clan leader visibly relaxed. "That is great news. When I make my announcement tonight I will be sure to include that." Creekstar then sat down and continued to speak. "We can stay here untill the kits are old enough to travel but tonight I wish to go and speak with Starclan. We need to have some direction on where to go and I have not yet received a sign, have you?"
Arcticstrike was able to catch two more mice making his total come to three and he was so surprised that he was able to catch so much. The clan would definitely eat good tonight, which was good because it was much needed. The white tom came to the realization that since the wolves had entered their territory the prey had become more scares and that now that they were far enough away from the wolves prey had become more abundant. However their current position was vulnerable to attack and they were only just outside of the wolves reach, staying where they were would do no good. As the warrior went back to where he hid his mouse he picked up all three and waited for the others to join him before they returned back to their temporary camp.

FallenDew shook her head sadly. "I have not." She then tilted her head curiously. "What announcement will you be making tonight?"

Hearing that she hadn't heard anything from Starclan made Creekstar worry but he pushed that away when she asked what his announcement was. "It's time I appointed a new deputy", the leader meowed.

FallenDew nodded slowly, grief for HawkCry filing her. She then looked around at the cats around her before turning back to CreekStar. "Who did you have in mind for the position?"

Creekstar thought for a minute, "I am torn between Nettlemask and Poolingwater. Nettlemask has the experience and is popular in the clan. He could easily make a great leader. But his mate just had kits and I can understand that that is where he wants his focus to be. Poolingwater is very popular among the clan and is loyal and full of determination. She would make a great leader one day but lacks the experience. What to you think? Who would be better suited as deputy for the clan in this time."

FallenDew thought for a moment before sighing. "PoolingWater is creative and is a peace keeper. Her experience will grow quickly during these times. Then again though, NettleMask having kits in this clan will make him want to protect it even more. They are both very wise choices. the decision is entirely up to you at this point. So, who do you believe should be deputy?"

(I'm back now!)
Soaringflower had been helping to keep the new kits warm, slightly terrified for when her own time would come now but she put on the bravest face she was able to muster and straightened up. Congratulating the new parents, she quickly left to give the pair some privacy and approached her mate with a twitch of her long tail tip. Pressing against him briefly and nodding to the medicine cat, before settling herself down beside them. Still not able to stay upright for all that long due to her still rather fresh injuries, she listened absent minded. Her eyes on the new little family.
Nettlemask hadn't moved from where he had been comforting and offering his mate support during her kitting, his long tail entwined with hers as he watched his newborn sons and daughter nurse hungrily at her belly. Eyes bright with sheer affection as he cuddled close against her. "You did amazingly," he told her quietly with a firm lick between her ears before turning his attention to the four at her belly. Licking them and familiarising himself with their appearances as best as he could at this young age. "They're beautiful."

Creekstar was still unsure even with the medicine cats advice. "I shall think on it a while longer. As soon as the moon rises high I will call for a clan meeting." With that said the tom was done speaking about the matter and laid down. Using his tail to gesture for his mate to lay with him she reached out and started to lick her shoulder affectionately. "How long do you think it will be before the kits will be good to travel? 3-4 days?" The clan leader was curious wanting to know when they could travel again, Creekstar was not wanting to risk the lives of his clanmates by staying too long but he also did not wish to rise the lives of the newborn kits.

Doing as requested and settling herself against the shoulder of her mate, twitching her ears up at the medicine cat, curious for an answer. Wrapping her own tail around the slight swell of her stomach in a protective manner, had it been her she'd have wanted to wait as long as possible to ensure the likelihood of her kits surviving a difficult journey. But part of her knew she couldn't let the clan wait and suffer in this place longer than was necessary. Soaringflower burried close to her mate's shoulder, hiding her face in his fur and enjoying his warmth and closeness.

Once everyone finished hunting and there was plenty of prey for everyone to eat Arcticstrike led the hunting patrol back up the thin trail between the boulders onto the plateau where the clan had gathered. Dropping his prey down on the pile he picked up two mice and looked around for Mosspebble to see if she wished to eat with him.
After resting for a while the queen finally felt okay enough to awaken she looked down upon her four kits lovingly. "They are beautiful", she meowed softly to Nettlemask. Looking closely at her kits she focused on one of the little black toms and started to groom his long fur as he suckled at her belly. "In honor of Star Cave and the old of Hollowclan territory, I wish to name him Cavekit. What do you think?", She asked her mate.
Seeing the hunting patrol returning Sunfeather quickly approached and grabbed three pieces of prey and headed straight for the overhang where Ivysong had been with her mate and new kits. Giving her congratulations and taking a quick peek at the kits she left the prey for them and went to find herself a cozy nook to eat and rest.

FallenDew thought for a moment before replying. "I believe one day would be enough. We just need to make sure they're strong enough before we leave and of course, we would need cats to carry them." She then flicked her ears. "I believe I heard PoolingWater and WolfShadow talking about possible warriors to carry them when we were on the way here."

Nettlemask shifted himself closer to his exhausted mate, careful to offer support wherever he felt the tired queen might need it. Using his long tail to entwine with hers, he pressed closer to her. Careful to groom the sweat from her beautiful silky fur, "I think its perfect," he chuckled a little at her sentimentality, but it was one of many things that he adored about the sweet shecat. He sat up, careful not to move too much as to disturb his mate too much and leant down to nuzzle at the kit she'd named. Then turning his attention to another of the kits, a purr coming from his throat as he nosed the tri-colour kitten. "How about Wildkit?" He purred, watching how she squirmed with affectionate eyes. "She'll be a handful," he predicted with a grin.
The largest kit of the litter, the as of yet unnamed Ravenkit kneaded close to his mother's belly with a quiet mewling sound, burrying deep into her underbelly as he latched on firmly and began to nurse with a little squeaking sound. Seemingly completely content, unaware of the dangerous world which surrounded him.

CaveKit stopped nursing, his belly now full. Still blind he stood and stumbled around until he fell over but found himself against his mother's soft chest fur. Nestling deep into it the black kit fell asleep quickly with the sound of his mother's heart beat in his ears.
