(I don't have any other cats open atm. Cinderfern is currently in the wood with Dampforest and Ravenflight is the other side of the thunderpath with Whisperpaw after running off from the hunting patrol.
I decided to make an elder, so I also have him open as well)

Dawncall-Ashclan Camp
The she-cat picked up the small piece of prey from the kill pile. It was incredibly small, as little could be found in the burnt remains of the forest. Her own belly growled in protest, but this was not for her. She padded over towards the elder's den. Luckily it had survived the fire, and she would continue to follow the warrior's code. She flicked her tail in greeting towards Darktail and placed the small bird at his feet.

darktail - elders denthis was, by far, one of the worst disasters the clan had been through, though the old tom was confident that they would come through it. though many of his friends had perished in the fire, he was still confident in the new generation and how they were going to help the clan he had grown up in grow to full strength. he was resting in the cool of the elders den when dawncall arrived. lifting his head, he smiled at the young warrior, thankful for the food she had brought him. he knew how little prey there was around, but it was nice to see that the warriors still stuck to the code despite all of that. "i am doing well, thank you," he meowed with a dip of his head, gesturing with his tail for the she-cat to come closer, "but come and share this with me, we are all hungry." though it was not much food and would hardly be very filling, it was better to share rather than have it all for himself. |

The warrior sat down, and let Darktail have the first bite. She was hungry yes, but she would be able to continue to hunt without having eaten. She did enjoy Darktail's company though, and she couldn't imagine what he must be going through. There had been losses, but she still had other warriors to lean on. There was just him now in the elder's den. "So, in all honesty, how do you think we'll get through this? I don't know about you, but this is the worst thing I've lived through." |

darktail - elders denhe didn't make a move to eat, instead pushing the prey a little closer to the young warrior with a paw. "you need the strength more than me," he told her with a kind meow, "you're the one who has to help with rebuilding and go hunting and go on patrols." he didn't need that much strength for just laying around in camp all day. but that was the life of an elder and he could not do much now he was a half-blind. and he hardly had the energy and strength he had as a warrior. "this is the worst any of us have lived through," nothing this bad had happened while he was alive and he was currently the eldest in camp. though bramblestar was not far behind him, they had grown up together. the only difference was that he had been named deputy and was now the leader while he was stuck in the elders den. "but we will survive if we stick together and don't give up hope. bramblestar might have lost his faith, but starclan is still with us." |

The she-cat dipped her head and took a small bite, rather than argue with the elder cat. Even the prey was tarnished by the fire, being almost as skinny and tough as they were. But prey was prey and until they learned to fish, it would be tough skinny birds and squirrels. She wouldn't complain, but it certainly made her wish for the days of plump vole and mice.
She felt something stir in her at Darktail's words. "I haven't lost faith in Starclan. It would take more than a fire to do that." She couldn't see a situation where she could ever lose her faith, but then again, she couldn't even begin to imagine the things that could lie in her future. "I trust Bramblestar, but I'm worried that he's making it harder for himself." |

"you can have more than that," he did tell her, amusement in his old eyes, "i am quite fine." while he wasn't really, he was hardly as important as a warrior. if they were going to survive then they would need to rely on the young warriors and apprentices and the next generation. older cats like him were not very important when it came to rebuilding a broken clan. "oh, bramblestar has always been stubborn, cursing starclan since the day he was born. i wouldn't worry about it," for a cat who never fully believed that starclan was always looking out for them, he had still made a good leader. "i still remember when he was born. it was a couple of days after i was made an apprentice. he was quite the troublemaker when he was a kit." |

"I will after you eat." She countered. Elders are a source of wisdom, history, and unity in the clan, and that made them invaluable in her eyes. Kits grew up on the stories of the elders, warriors turn to them for guidance, and the leader turns to them for comfort and companionship.
It was hard to believe that their leader felt that way. "But if he doesn't believe in starclan, or at least in their importance, then how did he receive his nine lives?" Her ear twitched in confusion. "Or...how did he manage to hang onto those beliefs when he received them?" |

darktail - elders den"i ma quite fine, young one. now don't argue with me, and eat your food" he was trying to be stern, but he hardly sounded like it and he gave the young warrior a look. while he might be just as hungry as everyone else, he would survive a little while longer without food. dawncall needed the energy for her warrior duties more than he did. a chuckle left the elder's mouth, head shaking slightly. "oh no, he believed in them just like every other clan cat, but he never thought they were as powerful as cats made them out to be and did nothing to help. even after they gave him his nine lives." which was rather amusing, but he supposed these days he couldn't really blame bramblestar for thinking the way he did about things. "and now, these days, with prey running scarce and our territory destroyed, i suppose he must feel as though he was always right." |

If only to appease the elder, she took another bite and pushed the bird towards him. "I can see why you have lived so long. You're far too stubborn to listen to reason." Tact had never been her strongest skill, but hopefully it wouldn't come back to bite her in the tail. "I bet you could go toe to toe with the fiercest cat if need be."
She grew quiet at the discussion of Bramblestar's beliefs. "I would never want to be right about such a thing." She couldn't imagine losing so much faith in their ancestors that she believed they would abandon an entire clan. A cat who has chosen the darker side of life, perhaps. But an entire clan, with innocent kits and warriors? "Has starclan ever abandoned a clan?" |

darktail - elders denthe older tom made a purr of amusement at that comment, settling down to get a little more comfortable as he looked at the she-cat with a kind gaze. "i think that ever cat grows more stubborn as they get older, it's in our nature," when they had everything else taken from them, their sight, hearing, strong limbs, then stubbornness and wit was really the only thing they had left to rely on. but he did appreciate the comment, "though i have no intentions of going against anyone. i am quite happy to stay away from confrontation." especially at his age now, he was too old to be getting into fights, be them physical ones or verbal. swishing his tail a little against the ground, darktail considered the words, ears twitching slightly as the sound of his limbs creaking as he moved to get comfortable tickled his ear fur. "i've heard stories of starclan abandoning clans before because they came too greedy or bloodthirsty. but i do not believe that has happened here. starclan is still watching over us and we must hold faith in them." |

The she-cat churred in amusement softly. "Then they'll likely declare me a menace to the clan when I'm an elder, if my mother and mentor were correct." Of course, that depended on if she made it to elder age. "Avoiding confrontations are often more difficult goals to achieve, I've found. Even when I do what I can to avoid it, there are always times when I cannot avoid the fight or argument."
His words were comforting, if but a little bit. "So then we aren't completely alone." She tilted her head to the side as she thought. "Like how, even though the prey are diminished, they aren't completely gone. Or how we have so much of the camp intact, even though the fire reached our borders." A hopeful look aimed at the elder. "So even though we lost many to this fire, we'll survive...right?" |

"and yet the clan will still have to look after you if they follow the code correctly," and that was the good thing. you could be the grumpiest cat around and you would still be looked after by the clan. "you should always try and avoid fighting if you can, words are far more powerful," it was always better to avoid confrontation. and he didn't mind imparting said advice on the young warrior. darktail dipped his head in response of the optimism from the she-cat. "no, we're not alone. we will never be alone and starclan will never abandon us," at least, that is what he liked to think. their ancestors had always been with the clan and they were not about to go anywhere and it was foolish to think so just because they were suffering through a hard time. but darktail knew they were not the first clan in history to go through hardships like this and others had made it through fire before, so they would as well. "there is always hope, young one. always." |

She laughed at the idea. "I plan to always follow the code, so hopefully what marks me as 'difficult' now will be seen in a more positive light when I'm older." She never wanted to cause trouble, but if often found her regardless. She dipper her head at his caution. "I'm learning that the hard way. My brother has me beat at the moment." Dusksong was better suited for arguing, whereas her talent was in fighting.
She felt hope blooming in her chest. "Of course! Cats have been through far worse than we have, and Starclan stayed with them. It would have to be something monumental for our ancestors to completely abandon us, right?" Still there was a problem that continued to nag at her. "Can we ever get Bramblestar to feel that hopeful though? I mean, without the comfort in Starclan, it would appear very desolate at the moment." |

((Hey, I'm planning on joining the roleplay soon if you need someone to take some cats off your hands. Otherwise I have a way of making characters pretty quickly. Also, are there any specific roles that need to be filled or do we need more warriors, apprentices, kits, queens, etc. before I make my cat, so I know what kind of character to make.)
