Omen sat down and looked over his shoulder. "Well one of us could return to her and the other could stay and check it out." His eyes danced over the horizon and then back to the prey. "If we make that choice, then do you wish to stay here and investigate or go back?" A different part of him wanted to do both different things.
Lilly rolled back onto her stomach and stood up, walking closer to her companion. "Be careful Loon. What if it's another car?" She was curious about it as well, but the fur on her spine stood up causing her to be apprehensive.

Bristlestep was scanning the area and caught the scent of nearby cats. His fur raised as he sniffed the air and placed his paws quietly forward towards the scent.
Loon lepaped through the bushes, almost ramming into two large toms. He froze and stepped back with surprise. "Wah uh sorry there!" he yelled as he bowed his head.
Chain leaped back with surprise and hissed at the young kittypet. "Hey kid, watch where you're going" he snarled, his pelt still standing up as he tried to lower it quietly

Fawn laid in wait in the twoleg alleyway, her stomach grumbled and she flattened her ears in annoyance. "Ugh, I can't just wait here and wait for someone to bring me food. Chain is full of nonsense" she hissed under her breath as she stalked off.

Lilly shrunk back for a moment before puffing out her chest slightly to look bigger and putting on a smile. She strode up to them, standing by the side of her companion. "Sorry boys, we were just enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. We weren't hunting or anything and we really don't want any trouble." She locked eyes with Omen and held the larger cat's gaze steadily, making a silent statement to him, that she wasn't going to get out of his way.
Omen observed the two smaller cats, analyzing them carefully. He noted the the scent of twolegs and the things around their necks. Housecats. They're not a threat. He thought to himself. He stared down Lilly for a moment, a slight chuckle escaping him. This one has guts. The tom casually sat down and unsheathed his claws for a moment. "As long as you don't take our kill, or scare off prey then I don't have a quarrel with you."

Loon smiled slightly as his companion seemed to calm the two larger cats down. Out of the corner of his eye he could notice a dark figure in the bushes. He stayed quiet and just paid no mind, thinking it was just a squirrel.
Bristlepelt watched the cats with interest, as well as the prey they had caught. His eyes watched the prey tenderly thinking of his clan, but he was honorable and chose against it. He turned away and instead slunk off to report to Meadowsong on their plans of action.
Chain unsheathed his claws slowly, paying attention particularly to Lilly. The young she-cat stayed calm, which was surprising and even begrudgingly admirable for a kittypet. The ginger tom huffed and turned away. "What are some kittypets like you doing out here. Don't you stay with your owners?"

Omen trotted back to his kill very fast and brought it back to where they were sitting, placing it under his paws. He has the creeping sense that someone was watching him. It the fur along the tom's spine stand on end. He then sat down and quietly observed his own companion, mildly amused at the other tom. Dark ears stood to their full height on his head as he listened for any other approaching threats.
Lilly's tail twitched and her face flattened slightly at the words 'Some Kittypets'. The she-cat did not like that term. None the less, she put on a sweet smile and giggled slightly. "Well not all of us are lazy, fuzzballs with no desire to do anything except sleep. We wanted to explore. Get outside of our fences. Sure, we're safe behind those wooden walls, but sometimes, safe isn't any fun."

Loon laughed nervously again before nodding in agreement. "Right! We're being active!" he purred with delight.
Chain glanced at the two curiously before rolling his eyes. "yeah yeah just don't get in our way or take our kill" he muttered again before signaling for Omen to follow him. He didn't want to waste his time on kittypets.

Omen nodded, picking up his kill and padding after his companion. Once he had caught up and they were out of earshot, he did his best to talk, even though his mouth was full of prey. "She didn't cower at all, not even at you." He remarked, his ears twitching in slight amusement.
Lilly stared after him until they were out a view, before releasing a breath that she hadn't realized that he had been holding. With a tired huff she flopped back into the grass. "Those two look like they could have eaten us and not even had a second thought." As the words left her mouth, she grew prouder of herself. Any other cat would have ran or at least cowered and she didn't.

Chain flicked his ear to acknowledge the comment from Omen. "You're not wrong, but she's still young and likely naive as kittypets are. She may not have known how easily we could've clawed her ears off" he remarked sarcastically, a light smirk on his face.
Loon too released a breath of relief. "No kidding. Those guys were big. Either they're much older, which is probably it, or that's just how wild cats are"

Omen chuckled slightly and nodded in agreement. "So how mad do you think Fawn is going to be when we get back?" The tom picked up his pace a little bit, not wanting to make the she-cat too angry with their tardiness. "After all, she does have those little parasites sapping away all of her energy." Even despite his spiteful tone, Omen actually enjoyed kits. They were precious and just had this outlook on the world that he wished he could hold himself.
Lilly huffed and sat up, looking up at the sky. "My bets are on both." She thought about Chain's comment for a moments and scuffed the dirt lightly with her paws. "Do you ever wish you could be something more, Loon? I know that's sudden and weird, but it's valid. I'm never really sure what I want to do with myself. I love my housefolk, but life out here seems like it could be so amazing. Is it just me?"

Loon shook his head. "No it's not just you" he murmured and looked deep into the forest. "This place is something else. It's free which is a lot more than what we have at homes" he muttered and looked away nervously.
Chain nodded, not glancing at Omen as he led the way back to their makeshift camp. He glanced around warily before calling out. "Fawn! Hey where are you?" he yowled for the she-cat, worried she may have wandered off to hunt again.
Fawn stubbornly came out from the pile of rubble, her belly swollen. She glared at Chain and flicked her tail with annoyance. "Could you not have been a bit nicer when you called for me? Even Omen has manners" she hissed before dipping her head to Omen. "You guys caught stuff?"

Lilly continued on her train of thought. "It's funny, because I find that you want what you don't have. We want freedom because we have security while others probably want security in their lifestyle. Like, I know that we have pretty decent lives, but at the same time, I want the adventure. I want to not be bored by own life." She laughed slightly. "Sorry, I've gone philosophical."
Omen dipped his head to her and placed the rabbit at her feet. "Indeed. I was in the mood for rabbit so I chased it down myself. It's all yours." He smiled slightly and sat down, pushing it towards her. His ears twitched in amusement at her sudden mood switch.

Loon cocked his head slightly, confused by Lilly's words at first, but eventually understood what she meant. "I think I get it. You and I want to explore and experience new things, but it's hard to do that when we're stuck in our household" he talked through it, mostly for himself, but nodded as he understood fully what his friend was saying.
Fawn hesitantly took the rabbit and began to eat, not wanting to admit she appreciated the two toms, but she dipped her head respectfully with gratitude. "Thanks you two" she finally said as she swallowed. She glanced at her belly hesitantly, feeling a mixture of warmth yet concern, as the father of the kits would not be around to care for them.

"Yeah that's it." She shook her pelt and stood up taking one final breath of fresh air. "Do you think that they're missing us? I just don't want to be caught in a quarrel with more cats. I think I've had enough of 'pretending to be calm when I'm not' for a day. Even if we don't want to go home, can we check out the stream? I wanna try and catch a fish."
Omen purred slightly. "You're welcome Fawn. I'm going to have to get better at hunting soon, as you're going to have some more hungry mouths to feed." He looked at her stomach for a moment. "How have you been doing with that? Any pains? Herbs I can get you? A stick to chew on for stress relief? I know you're independent, but if you need anything, don't be afraid to ask." Eyes gazing up at the sky, the tom enjoyed the warmth of the sun on his back for a moment. Deep down, he was worried that when the kits came, he wouldn't know what to do and something would go terribly wrong.

Loon nodded. "Sure! I bet I can catch a bigger fish than you" Loon laughed and darted ahead, familiar with the location of the stream as it ran by his twoleg's nest. He felt the brush of the leaves as he exited the forest barrier and could see the smooth soft stream in the distance. "Come on Lily!" he called.
Fawn's gaze softened at the tom's offer and sighed. "Thank you Omen. The pains have been more frequent but nothing I can't handle. If you know about herbs that'll make the process smoother, I'd appreciate it" she purred before turning back to Chain. "You seem stressed and your fur is on end. What's up?"
Chain flattened his ears. "Nothing really. Just some kittypets startled us on patrol..." he muttered.

Lilly followed after him, taking in everything she saw and remembering the path she took. The kittypet took a mental note of the rouges and their scents so she would be able to scent that ahead of time. Her ears perked up at the thought of a challenge. "Oh yeah you're on! You still got claws in those paws of yours?" She caught up with him and giggled to herself. "You better you do."
Omen chuckled and laid down, placing his head in his paws. "Speak for yourself Chain. I wasn't surprised." He closed his eyes, whiskers twitching in amusement. "And here I thought that nothing frightened you. I suppose I was looking up to you for a falsified reason." Ah, this was one of his favorite things to do, thinly veil a compliment under teasing. He really did look up to the older tom, sometimes.

Loon laughed and nodded. "Yup! I'm all set" he purred as he settled himself down next to the running stream. He peered inside, seeing a faint glimpse of his reflection, which was broken by the moving fish below. There weren't many, and Loon's small size made it difficult to reach down far enough to snatch one, so he watched carefully.
Chain glared at the tom for a moment before looking away. "You ever learn about respecting your elders?" he teased before smirking at the tom somewhat playfully. He flicked the tom's ear with his paw as he turned back to Fawn. "Do you have any idea when those kits will be coming?"
Fawn rolled her eyes. "I'm not an expert on this so not really sure. I mean it's been about a moon since the father left so I mean that's awhile right?" she asked before glancing at her stomach. She truthfully wasn't sure when they'd come. She didn't have friends who had carried kits before.

Lilly bounded up to the stream and looked at the disturbed image of her flection and taking a moment to admire herself. Her eyes shifted to the water and the fish that darted beneath the surface. Some of them swam against the current of the water causing the housecat to think about what that meant for a moment before lunging after one for with her paw. "Have you ever tasted fish?" She asked her companion.
Omen laughed slightly at his older companion before looking to Fawn. He looked to her swollen belly and scrunched up his nose in thought. "It could be any day now." A sigh escaped him as he looked towards the forest. "I'm worried. Part of me wants to seek another cat who may know something about this process." Though it hurt his pride to have to go to a stranger for help and knew that she would hate it even more, but this was her life potentially hanging the balance.

Loon shook his head. "Nope. I've never even managed to catch a mouse" he muttered, a small pout on his face as he watched the fish squirm around. "Wait, have you had actual prey before Lilly?" he asked with disbelief, staring at the she-cat like she was the coolest thing he'd ever seen.
Chain didn't want to agree, but his care for Fawn made him somewhat agree with Omen. "I'd be lying if I didn't agree, but where would we even find a cat like that?" he finally asked.
Fawn was touched by the care the two toms had for her. "Thank you both really, but I am a tough cat and I'm sure other cats have had to go through births without the assistance of others" she assured them, lightly brushing her tail along Omen's back as a form of gratitude. "I'm thankful just to have you both already" she purred, showing a kinder nature than most were use to.
Chain was surprised by Fawn's tenderness and allowed himself to smile.

Lilly puffed her chest out and smiled proudly. "It was a dark and stormy night. I had been tired off being cramped in the house and my housefolk were out. I had no food and my stomach was clawing at my sanity. Without any other option, I pushed through my fence and relied on my most primal instincts. I managed to catch myself a plump vole and I'll tell you, nothing in this world has tasted better."
Omen smiled softly and allowed a slight purr to escape him. "It's us against the world right now. But something tells me that we won't be living in this garbage pile for much longer." He looked up at the sky and sniffed the air. "Your kits should not have to know this as their home." He set his yellow eyes on Chain for a moment in curiosity. "What exactly is stopping us from living in the forest or on the hills Chain?"

Chain looked to Omen warily. "Nothing I guess, but we've known this place for so long..." he muttered before glancing towards the forest and then back to Fawn's swollen stomach. He sighed. "You're right, we could begin to move in" he admitted.
Loon's eyes sparkled as he continued to listen, enveloping himself in Lilly's tale. "Wow! The vole was really that big!? Amazing Lilly!!"

(Ello, thanks for accepting me ^^)
Hazard sat down in the grassy fields next to two leg place, munching on a rabbit he had just caught. He occasionally glanced around to make sure he was alone. At this point in his life, he just wanted to be alone. He felt most comfortable that way.
Dixy sat on her housefolk’s porch, watching as her kits played out in the yard. She was surprised at how fast they were growing, and knowing that was a bit worried. From talking to other housecats, she heard that sometimes house folk would take them away if they got too big- while some didn’t. She hoped that her kits wouldn’t be taken.

(Hi! Hello! I am happy to see another face here :3)
Omen looked to the forest for a moment. "I could scout the land if you want. I am in no way implying that we must make a sudden shift today, only that we might begin to seek out options. The last thing I would want is for us to run out of food when the times get rough. I wouldn't want anyone to suffer." He stood and shook his pelt. "Plus just sitting here and repeating the same struggle for life every day... I want a better life for you guys."
"Oh yes it was! And I know that you can catch your own prey too." She stood back from the water, so her shadow wouldn't scare the fist away. "So give it a shot. You may not get it on the first try, but with practice, you'll soon have your claws on a tasty morsel." Lilly couldn't help but allow her stomach to growl. The she-cat should have eaten before she left, but it was too late for it now.
Sage sat in the gutter of a two-leg nest. Thankfully it hadn't rained for a while, so she wasn't sitting in muck and getting her white pelt all muddled. She could see two different cats from her perch, one sitting in the field and another with her kits. The loner smiled softly to herself at the thought of a family and not being a loner, but the smile faded as quick as it came. Unsure of which cat to talk to, she closed her eyes for a moment and let the wind decide. A breeze blew her fur towards the field. With a shrug of her shoulders, she bounded down from the rooftop carefully through a nearby tree. She strode up to the gray tom with slight hesitation, sitting down a little bit off. "How's the rabbit? I've never had one before I usually prefer birds myself." The porcelain she-cat could feel herself growing hot with embarrassment.

Loon puffed out his chest out excitedly and placed his paws on the edge of the river bank. He placed his paw steadily over the water, allowing his eyes to scan the fast moving ripples. He could see the shape of a tasty fish below the surface, and he kept his shadow out of its way to hide his presence. Keeping quiet he held his paw over before thrusting his paw into the water, stumbling slightly as he came out empty handed. "Darn it" he muttered and pouted slightly. He shook the water out of his face before looking back to Lilly. "I'll try again!" he purred.
Chain smiled at his dear friend. "Are you sure you're ok with going out alone? We both know Fawn can't be traveling a lot and one of us should stay here with her. Otherwise I could go out in your place" he offered the multiple options.
Fawn smiled softly and shook her head. "Chain relax I can handle myself for awhile" she purred teasingly before flicking her tail along his backside. "Go with Omen and scout the territory"
Meadowsong stretched out her body as she finished organizing the herb storage. She gave a quick gesture to Bristlepelt to tell him she was going out for a walk, before leaving their makeshift camp to make her way towards the deeper parts of the forest.

Hazard jumped in surprise, not expecting the she-cat to be there. He had sworn he was paying enough attention to his surroundings. Apparently not close enough. He hastily got himself together and growled. “It’s food. It all tastes the same.” He licked his lips. “What do you want?” He had hoped that he wouldn’t run into company.

Meadowsong came upon the place she was looking at before. She smelt the familiar scents of cats, same as ever. She glanced around warily before following the scent forward, eventually poking her head from the bushes to discover the other side of the plains laid a twoleg territory, with a fence dividing the land from them. There were no twolegs in sight, and Meadowsong carefully crept forward, narrowing her eyes as she scanned the landscape

Lilly laughed and purred in amusement, her whiskers twitching slightly. She prodded him with a paw lightly. "Go get'em tiger. You're smarter than those fish. If I were to give advice, I would say to aim not where the fish is, but where it is going to be if that makes sense." Though she was watching her companion, she was keeping her ears alert in case of any surprises.
Omen tilted his head slightly, his eyes growing wider as he thought instead of their normal thinned slits as he looked at Fawn. "But what are we to do if something tries to attack you? Or the kits decide that they want to come early. We wouldn't want to neglect your needs." He kept his voice low and waved his tail back and fourth as he pondered for a possible solution in his mind. There had to be something. The cat's dark nose scrunched up as he aimed his gaze at the ground.

Sage sat down and wrapped her tail over her paws. "Do I need to want something just to say hello? Because all I wanted was to say hi." Her ears flattened slightly, but her face conveyed slight concern. "You were alone. I know I don't like being alone even though I am, so I wanted to talk to someone. I suppose I just assumed that you would want to do the same." The loner was unsure of how to feel, but settled on the notion that bad company, is still company none the less.

Fawn glared at Omen before allowing her gaze to soften. "Hmmph fine if it'll ease your mind, Chain can stay here and you can scout. But please be back before it gets dark" she finally stated, locking eyes with the dark colored tom before giving a trusting smile.
Chain nodded. "Alright Fawn". He turned back to Omen. "You don't have to, but if you're certain, Fawn and I will make shelter on the outermost parts of the forest in the trees, while you explore the plains and Hilly areas" he stated, almost stating it like an order, but not intending to sound as such.
Loon nodded. This next fish he watched carefully. he could see its fins and tail pushing it to his left, before seeing it turn. Reminding himself of Lilly's words, Loon lunged forward to the new direction of the fish, feeling his paws fall on the fish, but continue to fall forward. Loon hadn't realized he had allowed his legs to leave the safe bank and he was in the deeper parts of the River where the current was faster. "L-Lilly!" he yelled before being pulled by the water.

Omen nodded and gave his muscles a good stretch and shaking his head. "I promise that I won't go far. Even if I can find one burrow, or hollow in a tree, some place warm and protected, I would say that this is a success." He chuckled slightly. "If you need me, send chain and or yowl, odds are I will hear you. Be safe you guys." With that he tensed his muscles and sprung forwards taking off in a sprint towards the hills, not stopping until he reached the hills. Truth be told, the tom loved to just run, as fast and as far as he could sometimes.
Lilly felt ice flush through her veins promptly followed by a rush of adrenaline. Without a second thought, she leapt into the water after him. It was ice against her bones and the sudden shock almost caused her to inhale, but she stopped herself. Using all the force that she could, she managed to grab the back of the tom's neck and proceeded to haul him towards the surface, getting his head above the water and pushing towards the shore with all of her might
