Brindlestar gave a small yawn. She could see that the Kingdom that her Clan had came from were just now waking up, the lights of their dens just flicking on. The rising sun made the land below it glow and shimmer, and the she-cat sat down, wanting to watch the beauty. Sunrises had always been her favorite thing. Ever since her mother, Suntail, passed away, she had enjoyed them much more, for the sun was awakening again- Something her mother hadn't been able to do.

Oakwind awakened in the warriors den, stretching his long limbs. He saw the the same thing that Brindlestar saw when he padded out of the den. The beauty of the land bellow, the lights of the Kingdom slowly becoming visible. He sat down on the grass a bit away from Brindlestar, gazing at the lights bellow.

"Why, good morning, Oakwind," Brindlestar mewed, smiling. "I see you enjoy watching the Kingdom and sun rise and awaken as well?" The tom, whom didn't have powers like some of her other warriors, was still honorable, but she knew that he must long for them. After all, most apprentices had powers, and the apprentices would only be given mentors with the same ability.

(And, I would appreciate it if Oakwind got either air or earth powers... We currently only have water and fire.)

( I was planning on earth! )
Oakwind nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "I do in fact enjoy it too!" He cheerfully meowed, enjoying talking to Brindlestar. He has always looked up to her, and they had grown up with each other, though they weren't close during that time.

Memories of her being Brindlefern sparked within her, how she had looked down upon Oakwind as lesser than her because he didn't have powers. I've changed now. I've matured since that time.

Oakwind saw the way she shrank back a bit, to little for almost any cats to notice, but he was used to it. He had become a expert at reading others feelings. He let out a tiny sigh, giving another convincing smile. "It's one of my favorite things to do!" He added, shuffling his paws.

"Great! I-I suppose I'll go practice my powers." For some strange reason, Brindlestar felt awkward around the tom. Although, it wasn't a complete lie. She really did have to continue practicing. Living in the Kingdom of Cloudania was dangerous, with there be being vampires, werewolves, and dragons about.

Oakwind nodded, a small pang of pain within him. He would give anything to have powers of his own. He had been bullied his whole life in the clan, and he know others talked about him behind his back. "You should go do that." He muttered, trying to stay as friendly as he could.

"If you'd like, you can come!" Brindlestar blurted out. It was too late to back out now. "I-I can show you my powers!"

Oakwind widened his eyes in shock, but he truly did want to come. "R-really?" He asked in disbelief. Most cats with powers always cast him out when they wanted to practice.

"Ya, sure!" She wanted to seem enthusiastic. "I have fire powers, if you didn't know." "

Oakwind let out a small laugh, nodding his head. "I think everyone knows that!" He meowed, getting onto all four of his paws. "Where do you practice at?" He asked causally, waving his tail through the air.

"As you know, the camp is split into five. If we come over to the fire side-" Brindlestar flicked her tail, leading the tom towards the mini camp. "You will see there is an exit. Once we go through there, we shall come to the Mossy Trees. They are tress in which are not flammable, and so, if it is set them on fire, you are done training for the day. They are magical, and so, the fire is put out almost instantly."

Oakwind padded after Brindlestar, taking a deep breath when the crossed over to the fire side. "I see!" He simply responded, gaze up at the Mossy trees. They sure are big trees...

"I mainly get rid of fire, so I don't do this much," Brindlestar mewed. She focused her gaze on one of the mossy trees. She closed her eyes, concentrating deeply. When she opened them again, she saw nothing. "It takes a few tries," she mewed.

Oakwind waited, holding his breath. He didn't know if silence was needed for her powers, so he kept as silent as he could. When no trees burst into flames, he let out his breath. How is it possible for cats to do these things? I've seen it before, but how is it done?

Gosh, I'm sorry. It seems that I keep forgetting about it. I'll pop on over. May I ask, do I still have the role?

Brindlestar stared at one of the trees once more, finally closing her eyes and going into a deep state of concentration. She opened her eyes, revealing a tiny flame. She closed her eyes once again, this time, wanting to make the fire bigger. When her eyes opened, she was relieved to see a bigger fire starting.

Oakwind's fur bristled with fear when the tree burst in flames. If cats can do that to trees, what could they do to other cats? His eyes widened, watching the flame as it burned the tree, but it stayed to just the one spot originally affected. He quickly glanced to Brindlestar, jealously creeping in.

The flames continued to burn for a while, but began dying down. Brindlestar smiled in triumph. "This is the second time I've been able to do it on my second try!" She mewed happily.

Oakwind ducked his head, embarrassed by his jealously. "G-good." He muttered, watching the flame die down. Why can't I do those sort of things? Did she bring me just to tease me with her powers?

"Shall we get back to camp?" Brindlestar asked. "Or maybe we can hunt before we do?"

Oakwind shrugged his shoulders, put secretly the last thing he wanted to do with Brindlestar was hunt. His skills at hunting was horrible, and all he would do is embarrass himself. "We should go back to camp." He meowed, shuffling his paws a couple more times before he raised his head.

The tabby nodded. "As you wish." She flicked her tail, motioning for the tom to follow her. Brindlestar padded back into the fire section of camp, for the entrance was right behind them. "I'm guessing you have duties to get to?" She asked.

Oakwind shook his head, racking his brain for any duties that he have been given. "N-no, Brindlestar. I have no tasks that I have been given, but I will do anything at your command!" He meowed, his stomach starting to feel queasy.

"Hm... I have nothing for you to do," Brindlestar mewed. The fresh-kill pile was stocked up, and nothing needed doing.

Oakwind nodded, inwardly taking a sigh of relief. "So...I'm free to do anything I want?" He asked, wanting to double check before he walked off. Maybe I should go on a walk.
