Hello. While thinking about Half-Clan cats, I came up with quite an interesting question.
Let's say a tom who was originally from ThunderClan moves over to WindClan and has kits with a WindClan she-cat. Are the kits still considered half-clan?
Another interesting one is if said tom had a forbidden relationship with a ThunderClan she-cat and she had kits with him as well. Are they still considered half-clan, since both their parents are technically of ThunderClan blood, even if the tom was in WindClan when the kits were born?
I found it fascinating, personally.

I think this was the case with Windflight and he was labeled as half-Clan by Oakheart. For the second part, he'd be ThunderClan by blood but by the parent's affiliation/allegiance the kit could be considered half-Clan.

Yeah, it's rather confusing. Warriors wiki seems to call any cats half-clan if they at least have one parent who isn't of the same birthplace as the other parent- even including kittypets, loners, rogues, and tribe cats. So in a sense, half clan cats have to be at least "half clan" to be termed as one I guess.
I think I also recall Bramblestar and Tawnypelt being called half-clan at one point- because their father had joined shadowclan but their mother was still in thunderclan- technically making them half ShadowClan half ThunderClan.
So the definition varies.

Ideally I think the kits should count as whatever clan they were born in, even if their parents are half-clan. In practice though there are far too many cats who have some prejudice against half-clan cats and thus will likely extend it to their kits :\
I wonder how many generations it would take for cats to stop caring honestly... edit: I may have partly misunderstood the question, woops. I think it's still relevant though :x

I personally think it has to do with actual blood relations and not allegiance. Thunderclan becomes Windclan, but is still Thunderclan by bloodline. Therefore, their kits with another Thunderclan cat will be 100% Thunderclan despite the father's Windclan ALLEGIANCE.

I believe half-Clan matters more with allegiance than blood The first scenario's kits would probably be considered full WindClan, as long as they were conceived after the tom moved to WindClan. Even though the tom is ThunderClan. The second one I believe would be half-Clan.

It's really confusing.
Tawnypelt is fully ThunderClan, but she is called half-Clan.

It's really confusing. Tawnypelt is fully ThunderClan, but she is called half-Clan. That is confusing...let's see if i can clear this up according to my way of thinking: Misty and Stone = half clan. One parent has pure riverclan blood, the other has pure thunderclan blood. Feather and storm = half clan. One parent has pure thunderclan blood, the other has majority riverclan blood (because i'm pretty sure that willowbreeze was half windclan). (crooked=100%RC, willow= 50%RC, 50% WC; so what does this make silverstream?) Tawnypelt's case= pure thunderclan blood, but changed allegiance. she's not half clan. she changed clan willingly and has remained loyal. therefore she is no longer thunderclan, but shadowclan. although she is thunderclan BY BLOOD ONLY.

I think it just depends on the cat speaking.
