welcoming words or something
i'll keep this short; i actually have some plots (for once!) & here they are. i'd class myself as semi-advanced, generally mirroring my partners though i prefer 500+ words per post; and i'm semi-active. i won't judge you for dropping plots w/o warning, so there's no pressure involved. all of these plots are open-ended, which means plot discussions can (and probably should) happen, and adjustments can always be made.
note: while there are only a few plots at present, i can (and probably will) make more in time. i'm also open to hearing plot ideas d: i'm interested in historical (various time periods), supernatural (genre; depends on plot), and some more. honestly, the only thing i won't really do is slice-of-life and i can be a lil' dodgy on sci-fi since i've never really done it (but i'm open to learning).
the plots.
plot one. [open]
"Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant filled with odd little waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don't always like."
- Lemony Snicket
having a hard time is an understatement. muse a is struggling. they owe a lot of money to some unsavoury people, they've recently lost their job and the last of their money has to go to paying for rent. everything seems to be happening too quickly for them to get footholds, everything is crumbling before they can grasp at the strings to try to bring something back. it's hard and they're tired, and even their friends are starting to abandon them in their time of need. to say that they're desperate is definitely a start to how they feel; and this exact desperation brings them to the doorstep of an old friend who might not even remember them.
muse b, on the other hand, is part of the high class. money is easy to come by, their world revolves around the socialites who delight in having a good friend like them; the same socialites enjoy funding their parties, and they certainly enjoy the funding that comes their way, too. of course, muse b has a rather dark secret as to why they find it so easy to come across money; they're a criminal. an assassin an a thief, not only do they kill the very people who come to their parties, but they steal from them, too. it's almost poetic to see the rich accept funds that once belonged to them. they are happy, ding something they love and being able to do what they like.
for muse a to turn up on muse b's doorstep is a surprise, to say the least. the two haven't talked since high school, and though they had other friends who were closer, muse b is the only one that muse a can think of who could even vaguely help them. it's taken hard work and dedication to find out where muse b lives, and muse b is certainly surprised; though should they truly be, when muse a has always had a knack for this?
muse a asks muse b for a job, and muse b definitely sees some use in their old friend; they say that they can help, and so begins muse a's descent into the criminal world.
( mild preference to muse b, but willing to do either )
plot two. [claimed; duplicate claimed]
"I got so sick of being on my own / now the devil won't leave me alone / it's almost like I found a friend / who's in it for the bitter end."
- Turn Off The Lights (Panic! At The Disco)
they're being punished for a crime they did not commit, going through pains that should be given to someone else. muse a is a fallen angel, and they're a good person. they were once a guardian angel on the path to becoming an archangel, ready to ascend the ranks and prove their worth. however, when they're framed for the murder of a fellow angel and for working with demons, they are stripped of their wings and their powers and sent to earth with scars in place of wings. they have one year to prove they didn't do it, otherwise they will forever lose their wings and they will be stripped of their immortality.
muse b is a demon stuck on earth after their summoner passed away, unable to find a summoner who has the right books to return them to their own realm. they have been stuck for a long time; long enough to get acquainted with human customs, long enough to know how to keep themselves hidden. their search continues, though they are beginning to tire of it.
the two meet on a dark night. muse a recognises muse b as a demon almost immediately, and realises that they might have to work with the unsavoury to get back to their place in a higher place. they approach muse b and offer a proposition; in return for the demon's help, they will do one thing that the demon most desires. aware that this is a fallen angel and aware that angels are capable of sending demons back to the underworld, they accept on the conditions; and so begins the search for the true culprit.
( no muse preference )
plot three. [claimed; duplicate claimed]
"You've got no place to hide / and I'm feeling like a villain got a hunger inside."
- Monsters (Ruelle)
in the modern age, dragons exist and are integrated into human life fairly well. small ones are bred selectively for pets, while the large ones seem to be almost exclusively wild. some people are riders; but it is a rare thing, now.
muse a is one of those riders, though unregistered and new to the experience. their dragon is their best friend and keeps trying to encourage them to leave their home and move on, to explore the world on the back of the dragon, to learn to fight; these things are expected of riders and are often settled into a dragon rider's blood, though muse a is hesitant, as they are not a particularly violent person.
muse b has been a rider since childhood. once part of the rider army and now free to do as they wish. both they and their dragon are as wild and free as wild dragons would be; they do what they want in their own time. they're also thieves and pests. on one unfortunate night, the duo manage to steal a rare egg from a rich man's grasp, and find themselves fleeing from the police. though they lose the police, the duo crash into the forest; muse b's dragon is injured from the fall, and they realise that they have to rest and lay low.
it's in this forest that muse a comes across them, and extends a helping hand, unaware that these two are criminals. they're intrigued at the sight of a rider outside of law enforcement, and captured by the chance at finding out how to ride from someone who seems like a professional at it. needing some cover and aware that the cover of a mentor could be good, muse b accepts the help albeit reluctantly, and offers to teach muse a how to ride dragons and how to fight on dragonback in exchange for the help and a traveling companion.
( preference to muse b )
