Yikes. I wouldn't be able to stand sleeping on the bottom floor. In our old house last year I had a bedroom on the top floor, and our current apartment is also a top floor one. I've got an irrational fear (on top of the concern about the noise) of someone falling through the ceiling onto me in my sleep O.O All thanks to a story my grade 7 teacher told me where that basically happened lol

Not fun.

No I actually really like the basement, that was more a passive comment that she honestly needs help and i'm kind of concerned but. I'm paranoid of people/furniture falling through though bc this isn't exactly a well built house. It was at one point in the 70s probably but the landlords just don't care.

Oh yikes. I can't do top bunk beds either. But that's mostly just because I move so much in my sleep. I wouldn't want to roll off and give myself yet another concussion xD

I guess at least basements/basement apartments give a bit more privacy? Hopefully she gets some help, sometimes it takes a lot of motivation for people to actually get started on losing weight/getting healthy (I know it took my dad about 5 years)

I mean, a bunch of 4th graders also laughed, so.
Well, except for the kid who got hurt. They weren't even well-built, just shoddy wire frames with a mattress stuck in them. At least he didn't have far to fall.

TBH it kind of is a funny mental image.
For some reason I always wanted a bunk bed as a young kid, but like...? I'm an only child so who would even be sharing with me? My dog?

My dad dumped my dog in my bed once. It wasn't fun, I almost crushed her on accident a few times. Plus, she likes to bite people a lot.

Hopefully she gets some help, sometimes it takes a lot of motivation for people to actually get started on losing weight/getting healthy (I know it took my dad about 5 years) Yeah i hope but idk. She doesn't actually seem to care about her weight and uses everything as an excuse for something and is very stubborn and it's just flat out not my responsibility to help or want to take care of someone who's hellbent on hating me for one reason or another when I do nothing but try to stay out of everybody's way. And apparently she's always been like this. They finally got her to sort of work out but then she had a stroke and couldn't and now even two years after it happened the stroke is still her major excuse, or if not, then it's her knees, or her back, or she will intentionally not eat enough and her sugar will crash and it'll be a big dramatic scene to help the poor diabetic. I even helped her do her medicine and stuff and saw her sugar was low and was like here's a cookie but then she complained about the damn cookie and i wasn't really pleased when we had to figure out how to get her off the floor because of it. But then she will cry and be upset about her weight problem when it could literally be fixed by moving around more and taking care of the diabetes, which would GO AWAY if she lost weight. She's all set to give herself another stroke if it don't stop. :/

I had a bunk bed as an only child and it's perfect because u get to choose where you wanna sleep and if you have sleepovers there's no question of who's gonna get the floor or couch because bed.

I slept in my parents' bed when I was young. It got to the point if where I don't feel some kind of nonthreatening pressure on me, I can't sleep. So, nondescript body pillows it is. There's like no room for me in my bed anymore, but I don't care. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

tldr though people who refuse to help themselves irk me a lot and i run really low on sympathy for because there's only so much anyone can do unless you quit whatever damaging behavior got you there in the first place

@leapkt That's actually so frustrating. My medical issue is actually somewhat similar (it's just the opposite of diabetes, so my blood sugar will go low more often than high/pancreas makes too much insulin basically). It's really not an excuse to not try and be healthy, in fact it's the other way around. When people have that many physical issues going on, by not exercising they're just opening up the door for more, it's such a vicious cycle? I dunno. Even if people have problems with muscles/joints there's always exercises like swimming and yoga that don't put as much pressure on those. Hopefully she wakes up to the reality soon, strokes are terrifying for everyone involved

The more people complain about a thing yet refuse to do anything about it, the less hecks I give (and half the time I'm also trying to offer them help/solutions to figure it out)
