(it's good to be home, lol)
'what important things?' hana wondered aloud, looking confused and a little offended at mitsuo's having grabbed her to get her out of the shed. she rather wanted something to play with now, but there was nothing around and she wasn't mean enough to get any enjoyment out of messing with tama.
akihiko changed quickly and stepped back out a few moments later, dressed in the yukata with the fluffy belt-like thing still wrapped securely around his waist. the part that was sticking out a little from his back seemed to sway momentarily, even though there was no breeze. 'thank you, again, for your trouble,' the pup said with a bow.

Sorry I poofed, had to go do something >_<]]
"Nothing," Mitsuo said, "Just some valuable old things." He turned around when Akihiko came out of the shed and gave a dismissive wave of his hand. "It's no problem, it's not like anyone here is using those still. Now, you think the two of you will have enough room in there? Looks kinda tight to me."
Tama peered behind Akihiko into the shed. The exchange between Mitsuo and his father piqued her interest, if she just turned into her cat form she'd have no problem jumping up on those shelves. However, she managed to hold herself back.

hana eyed the smallish shed dubiously, then glanced at akihiko as the pup glanced back at her. 'well, now he doesn't stink so bad I think maybe we'll manage,' she commented with a look of distaste. the boy bristled, the lines on his cheeks seeming to grow slightly thicker and darker as he bared his teeth. 'don't forget I outrank you, brown-inu,' he informed her. hana let out a barking scoff. 'I don't care who your grandpa is, kid, you're still just a pup out here, and don't forget it.' she glanced to mitsuo and tama. 'I think I'll go take a bath myself, if that's all right.'

"Go ahead, and take the cat with you. Maybe she'll smell less like fish," Mitsuo sneered. He jumped back and laughed, just barely dodging a slash from Tama's sharp fingernails. "Oh wait, but don't cats hate water?" He looked at Tama with what looked like genuine curiosity this time.
Tama crossed her arms and turned away from the kitsune in a huff. "I'm fine with water!" she snapped, tail lashing. She left out the fact that she was terrified of it when she was little, but she got used to it over the years and that's all that mattered.

(ARRGH MY INTERNET. WHY. I TYPED A HUGE THING.))
hana tilted her head to the side momentarily, then gave a slight nod. 'come on, then,' she told the bakeneko. 'we can both get cleaned up. it's too bad you don't have any girl's clothes, mitsu- then I could wash these ones.' she looked down at her grey sweatsuit, trying to think of the last time she had actually washed them, and realized it would have been the day she'd found them in a trash heap. they were pretty dirty and stained. 'I guess maybe I'll just jump in clothes and all, but I'd hate to sully the spring too much.'
akihiko calmed a little once hana moved off, his appearance returning to completely normal. he picked lightly at the sleeve of his yukata, then looked up at the kitsune beside him. 'it's all so much more than I thought it would be,' he mused. he'd known his birth would not have as much of an impact outside of the court, but had no idea how little it actually mattered. 'I've been dreaming of this all my life- all 12 years of it.'

Noooo]]
"Yeah, that's what happens when you're only siblings are older brothers," Mitsuo said, giving Hana a shrug. He gave some thought to asking his mother, but quickly decided against that. She'd never lend her clothing to an inu or a bakeneko. "Oh, the spring'll be fine, by the way. There's a little stream running off of it."
"Coming!" Tama called after Hana. She gave her jacket a sniff, it smelled clean for the most part but there was the slightest hint of fish. I don't smell that bad...she thought as she walked off through the trees.
"Really?" Mitsuo asked the young inu after Hana and Tama departed. He looked around, and his gaze settled up on the clouds. "What was this court like then? Sounds like it had to be pretty boring."

(I gotta head to bed. yasumi!)
hana found the stream and the spring and climbed in quickly, her ears flattening to her skull. 'oh, it's cold!' she whimpered, shivering slightly and grabbing her upper arms.
'oh, yeah, it was horribly boring,' akihiko said with an eager nod. 'we would gete reports of what was happening in the outside world from scouts, sometimes inu, sometimes kitsune, and the rest of the time, pretty much nothing. they always insisted I was too young to go out like Sesshomaru-sama did, or father. and there isn't really anyone my age around either.'

Oyasumi~]]
Tama hesitantly dipped her toes in first and, after bristling at the coolness of the water, took her feet right back out again. Taking a deep breath she balled her hands into fists and plopped both feet back into the water. She waded the rest of the way in and sat so the water went up to her chin.
"That is not a life I'd be interested in leading, " Mitsuo said after Akihito finished speaking. "I would have done the same thing, sneaking out... Actually, I did," he laughed. "When I was a kit I was kept inside all the time, it was boring, only my older brothers got to do anything worth doing...and then, I discovered the joys of sneaking out." He had a wide grin on his face, thinking back to the old days. "You made a good choice, kid."

(wow, I'm super sorry I've been gone all this time! it's been horrible with roommate troubles and falling behind with all my classes because of the stress. it might finally be resolved now though...I'm hoping)
hana glanced over to the neko, giving a teeth-chattering grin as she quickly warmed up, acclimatizing to the water. 'what's a matter, kitty? don't like to be wet?' she teased.
akihiko looked up at the kitsune curiously. 'you think so?' he asked. 'it was pretty hard to get away, actually. I had to sneak out when my scent changed.' he picked at the sleeve of the borrowed yukata before adding, 'I'm 12 years old, by the way. I guess I am young by anyone's standards.' he sighed grumpily. 'still, I hate being called a pup.'

"No I'm just fine!" Tama quickly hissed, though she was rather freezing without her fur coat. "How do those foxes bathe in this? Do they just not feel anything?" she muttered.
"Huh," Mitsuo murmured. He looked down at Akihiko and smirked a little. "Well, all the more reason for me to call you a pup then. You're a baby compared to me, and I'm the youngest in my family. And don't try asking how old my parents are, they'll bite your ears off," he snickered.

(yeah, extremely stressed but hanging in there all right. I did get to go to comic con over the past weekend, and I met mark hamill walking the floor in disguise)
'well....' hana commented, quickly ducking her head and scratching vigorously after resurfacing, to get the dirt out of her hair, which slowly turned more of a chestnut color than the dingy near-black brown it had appeared before. it hadn't been its rightful color since the last good rain. 'full youkai aren't really as affected by the elements as some of us are.' she started to rub at one of her sleeves with the pad of her palm, disgusted at the murky cloud that was forming around her.
'they're probably as old as Sesshoumaru-sama,' akihiko commented, the fluff around his waist twitching a little with his thoughtfulness. he gave another grumpy sigh. 'I know I'm still so young by youkai standards, but I'm not a pup anymore! I can take care of myself, I have my true form-'

Oh cool! I've always wanted to go to Comic Con xD]] Ok, see you later! ^^]]
"Hm, must be nice," Tama mewed. Her hands were cupped under the water and she gingerly lifted them to pour the water over her hair, wincing a little as it dripped down her head. She repeated this a few more times until her whole head was wet. It was clean, but she still regretted it as she started to shiver even more. I need to find a nice sunny spot as soon as I get out of here...
Mitsuo snorted, and gave behind his ears a quick scratch. "Take it from me kid, you can tell people that as much as you want but it's not going to make a difference until you gain a few years under your belt - and by a few I mean a lot."

(hey! sorry I've been gone for so long. between working two jobs and 16 college credits I've been really busy))
'brrrr,' hana murmured, making sure she was clean before hopping out of the pool and giving herself a vigorous shake from head to toe, standing on all fours. it was an extremely doglike move. after a few seconds, she deemed herself decently less wet and stood back on her feet, straightening up and wringing out her hair before glaring at her still-dripping clothes. she was loath to steal, but she might have to if she wanted better clothing...
akihiko gave a small sigh and found a small rock to sit on, picking a strand of his hair and looking at how the light played on it. he couldn't think of what to say, though he wanted to learn more from this kitsune.

Tama's teeth were chattering a bit as she climbed out of the spring. She also shook herself off, starting from her head and moving down to her feet. She took the hairbands from her wrists and put her hair back up into her usual twintails, and then took a moment to wring the rest of the water out of each. Even in human form she looked like your typical wet cat, scrawny and just a bit unhappy.
Mitsuo sighed and sent a quick glance at Akihiko. "Pardon me for a moment," he said. He seemed to be engulfed in what looked like smoke, and when it cleared he sat as a red fox. "Ah, much better." He stretched, and with a flick of his ears looked back at Akihiko. "Sorry, staying as a human gets kinda tiring."

Kichirou Mori | Age ~1000-1100, though he can barely remember much of life at a given time due to a curse from long ago. Usually appears 19, partially due to this aforementioned curse's amnesiac effect. | Male | Youkai - Kitsune When in human disguise, Kichirou doesn't show much of his physical or magical strength in appearance; his body is pale and thin and he stands at an average 5'6", betraying what he's actually capable of. His hair is of medium length (for a male) and appears almost messily cut, with what appear to be hastily done fringe bangs that are long enough to almost poke his amber eyes, and the back is a tad unkempt, with a few odd black locks part raised from the rest like small half-cowlicks. His usual modern outfit consists of an unzipped black military-style jacket, a red shirt with a black eastern dragon print, and dark navy jeans tucked into black boots that reach half up the knee. Along with that is a black flu mask printed with a shark-toothed grin that half-conceals the whisker-like crimson stripes on his cheeks. Like any kitsune, he can take on the forms of others he sees; however, he sucks at mimicking people to an exact T, but has much better fare disguising as animals. Speaking of which, his regular form is a notably large Red Fox with 5 long tails and mostly black fur aside from white on his front paws, chin, throat, and tail-tips. To sum up his personality in short: He's a bored, knowledge-hungry troublemaker. He tends towards crime when there's nothing of interest to learn, as it gives him some entertainment on his so-far unsuccessful quest to find out how to lift his curse so he can return home to his family (long-forgotten) and be able to gain his last 4 tails. He enjoys a good prank or a few, but he doesn't dabble in causing chaos as much as any mischievous fox spirit ought to.
{{ How's this? There's more about him I have written up, such as history and family members and even bloodtype, but I trimmed the fat for this tiny character bio. ^^; }}
{{ Also, good luck with college! Right now, junior year of HS is a bit of a butt, so to speak. AP bio, honors pre-calc, psychology, chem, and an English teacher with high expectations. No study hall 1st semester. x-x I can only imagine how your colege life is going. ^^;; }}

'I can imagine,' the pup commented with a sage nod. he was equally comfortable in both his human and inu forms, but he could see how the kitsune would be more at home in his fur. he was rather tempted to shift himself, but knew he'd just get laughed at, since he was still quite small. most of the "pup" comments he got were when he was in inu-form. the fluff at his waist twitched a bit with his indecision.
making up her mind, hana bounded away to get clothes.

Mitsuo looked to the trees shielding the spring and flicked his tails. He smirked as an idea came to mind, but in the end he decided to stay put. He was just starting to wonder what was taking Tama and Hana so long when Tama made her way through the trees towards him and Akihiko. "It couldn't have been that bad," he said to her. He tilted his head. "Where's the dog?"
"Uh, about that... she just took off a moment ago," Tama said quietly, almost not recognizing Mitsuo. She was still shivering from the cold water, so the afternoon sun was very welcome.

Kichirou found himself walking by the path leading up to an Inari shrine, with a apprehensive knot in his gut from the thought of paying a visit. On one hand, he could faintly tell apart the sense of other kitsune in the area; perhaps they would grant him passage through the vicinity of the shrine and give him directions. Then, he could go on his merry way without conflict; however, on the other hand he could pick out another scent in the air, almost dog-like, that put him at ill ease. At least any humans tending to the shrine would be likely to leave me be, Kichirou reassured himself. Working off this flimsy sense of security, he convinced himself into thinking he was just smelling some stray mutt that tresppased near the shrine- nothing to be horribly concerned about- and started up the path; albeit slowly and with a sense of nervous caution. He fixed the collar of his jacket and checked to see how his mask fit on his face, trying to look a bit more presentable to whatever priest or spirits might lurk up ahead.

(sorry for the long poof, I got super distracted and I have to head out for the night anyway. may be on late tomorrow, if not, expect me wednesday evening [all my hybrid class stuff is due tomorrow night, that's why] so yeah)
stopping before reaching the innermost torii of the shrine, hana peered around it cautiously, sensing someone there. she was surprised to see a young man with a masked face and a rather militaresque jacket and boots. why is there a human coming to the shrine? I thought it was abandoned long ago... she mused, chestnut ears twitching atop her head. well, it wasn't much her concern, since she was sure the kitsune that lived there would get rid of the interloper without delay. ruffling her hair, she flattened her triangular ears to her skull and tucked her hands in her overlarge sleeves, clamping her mouth shut so her fangs were hidden. she then made her way down the path toward the stranger, giving a tiny nod in lieu of a bow as she headed off.
deciding it was worth risking getting laughed at for the chance to antagonize the cat, akihiko stood and stretched, transforming in a swirl of energy into a snowy-white medium-furred dog the size of a saint bernard. the three thin triangular stripes were still evident on his face and his tail was tufted and extra-fluffy, clearly where his fluff had gone. unlike mitsuo, akihiko couldn't talk in this form, but he bared his fangs in a very feral grin to tama, as if to say, are you impressed? not bad, eh, kitty?

Alrighty, see ya later! ^^]]
Tama had been looking down the path that led away from the shrine. When she turned back around to look at Mitsuo and Akihiko she was greeted by the latter's dog form. Her green eyes went wide like saucers and a shrill shriek escaped from her mouth. Her ears popped out first, then the rest of her cat form as she tumbled a few steps back.
Mitsuo was rolled over beside Akihiko, sides heaving from laughter. His jaws were parted wide revealing his sharp canine teeth as one paw beat against the ground. "That was great! You should see your face!" he managed to get out. When he finally calmed down he cast a sideglance at the young inu. "You're not so bad for a dog, that was like something I'd pull," he said.
Tama glared at the two of them, though was failing at looking the least bit intimidating. Her fur was sticking out at all angled and she had pushed herself as close to the side of a large rock as she could manage. "That wasn't very nice!" she spat.

In a normal state of mind he'd have stopped her for directions rather than coming up to the shrine, but that odd canine smell grew stronger in her presence. So, instead of potentially finding out the hard way what exactly was so off-putting about this stranger, Kichirou hastened his pace once Hana was behind him and didn't speak a word to her- just gave a stiff nod of the head in reply to hers, but otherwise did his best to put her in the back of his mind. He pressed on at a brisk walk and counted the torii as he passed, half as a distraction from his tense anxieties, half so he would have a chance of remembering this place as a landmark. The scent of other kitsune was clear now, surprisingly unmuddled with any trace of humans. They must've chased them out, Kichirou mused; however, this realization wasn't too soothing, seeing as it might mean they'd attack him on sight for looking like this. He stopped, then took up a defensive stance when he heard a shriek up ahead. He ducked off the path and pressed against a tree, trying to hide from whatever shrieked and whatever else caused it.

the massive white inu gave a broader toothy grin, glancing to mitsuo on the ground and giving a rumble that sounded a bit like laughter before shifting back again, smoothing his ruffled white hair. 'sorry, tama, it was only a joke,' he commented, eyes gleaming with mirth. the scent of the new kitsune didn't register among all the others.

Tama held her glare with her ears flat against her head, refusing to let her embarrassment show in front of the two. Her tail lashed once more before she separated from the rock and sat up straight. She eventually shifted back to her human form and self-consciously dusting off her clothes, and then seated herself on the rock. "It wasn't very funny," she murmured, now diverting her gaze.
Mitsuo was still laughing softly, covering his muzzle with a paw. "Aside from humans, cats really give the best reactions," he said, clearly not feeling all that sympathetic toward the bakeneko.
