I'm glad you've taken interest in this roleplay! First things first, however, there's a few things to get out of the way.
This roleplay is considered advanced. Posts range anywhere from 500 words to 1k+. Length is not as important as content and it is understandable to dip to the lower end as long as the general response length for actual meatier posts are about 500 words at least.
The rules are simple. No powerplaying, no godmodding, and please talk out plots before executing them. All individuals in positions of control [gang leaders, gang second in commands, and ranks like the capos[extended chain of command] are to be 35 and up. Please ask about specifics, such as a younger second in command [child of the leader] or a young leader having just stepped up to the pedestal after the death of the original leader. There can be exceptions depending on the situation and the number of young characters in positions of authority already present int he rp.

The Gentleman Bastards - gang
Young, loud, and angry; the Gentleman Bastards are new to the scene but they've already made a name for themselves, and they are a promising lot. It's unknown what their goals are, but their military-esque manner and rankings and distinct tag make them a loud presence.

Hungry dogs will never be loyal.
History
Founded barely three years ago by a man known only as 'Wren', the Gentleman Bastards is an extremely new gang and it shows. The instant organisation speaks volumes of the influence of its founder and leader, and it shows promise to become an aggressive and dangerous gang. As a new gang, it seems determined to prove itself. It's early days yet, and yet it has already made a name for itself.
Operations
Hitting hard and fast, the Gentleman Bastards' primary focus is on contract killings and robbery. Both are done regularly, sometimes in broad daylight; they are unashamed and loud, angry and aggressive. They're also deep within the arms trafficking rings, with a trustworthy travel system and high-quality weaponry that they pass on and sell. They're still expanding and trying to find their place, however.
Organization Structure
It's to note that while the roles within the Gentleman Bastards appear to be based from basic military roles, they do not always carry the same role that the origin of the name came from. It's entirely possible that the founder has chosen these roles to mock the military, and as such, disrespects the very titles he uses.
General - leader of the gang, often not a publicly seen figure. their name is rarely spoken outside of the gang, only ever known as the general; an intimidating enough title in itself. the general's say generally overrules those below them, and their word is final unless put to a vote. they listen to the needs of their gang and deal with outside matters as well as internal.
Lieutenant - the right-hand man of the general, the lieutenant is, essentially, the second-in-command of the gang. their word rules above all aside from the general, and they handle more internal matters than external. all captains report back to them. they often handle financial matters, too, doubling as a sort of treasurer. they are an adviser of sorts, too.
Captains - hand-selected by both the lieutenant and the general, the captains are leaders of small groups of officers and privates. each captain is settled into a different section of the gang's territory, running their own rackets and ensuring their own men stay in line. it's not uncommon for there to be mild in-fighting between captains, though it is often sorted. alliances between captains often shift.
Officers - a majority of the gang, officers are initiated members under a set captain. they have potential to rise if trusted enough. they're utilised for various things, though primarily function as hitmen, bodyguards, and spies.
Privates - younger members or those not yet fully initiated, privates answer to anyone and everyone above them. they can either function under a certain captain or wait until they're picked up by one of them; it's not too rare to find them dipping between each captain's territory until they settle into the gang.
Rackets
Running in very poor areas, the rackets of the Gentleman Bastards are often more within the extortion and protection sides of things, alongside money laundering. Protection rackets are the most common, often running in restaurants and run-down apartment complexes, or small bars. The areas they run in are close-knit communities that reject higher authorities. Mechanic garages are another common front, used for money laundering more than anything else. There are four rackets, run by each Captain.
Code of Conduct
- Never disobey a direct order from a superior.
- You may not leave your post without being given permission.
- Deserting the Gentleman Bastards is seen as cowardice, and will be met with death. (Exception: Privates who are not initiated; they may leave).
Nature
Aggressive and explosive, the Gentleman Bastards are a loud, young gang with passion. They take the essence of the military and turn it into something else; something that appears to be mocking the very people they're almost based from.
Loyalty
Once initiated, there is no leaving unless through death. The Gentleman Bastards are highly dedicated to each-other as a close-knit community; though only within their own Captains (and their superiors). Each Captain will not show loyalty to another, only to the two above them; alliances between the territories and the Captains shift and change often, and in-fighting is not entirely uncommon (though is almost immediately stopped if it becomes too violent/bloody). To be fully-initiated, a Private is tattooed either on their inner-ankle, inner-wrist, or behind their ear with the Gentleman Bastard's symbol. This very symbol is often found in graffiti tags around the territory.

Fushimi-kai (伏見会) - yakuza
Description: It is hard to tell quite how deep the Fushimi-kai's influence is, in the criminal and civilian world, but their most prominent aspect is their versatility. With a knack for keeping the finer workings of their group under wraps, the Fushimi-kai has a powerful hold on many businesses and conglomerates, and is well-feared for making problematic people disappear without a trace. They welcome cooperation, and intimidate desertion.
Motto: "Power is the ability to adapt."
History: Originally founded by Fushimi Kenzo, it has its roots as a clan of assassins and mercenaries, having followed the growth of organized crime into the power it is today. The Fushimi-kai fell from the hands of the Fushimi family for a brief time, usurped by outsiders and taking a more complicated and messy operation. The loss of its power gave opportunity for Fushimi Yasuhide to take back the Fushimi-kai for his clan once more. Slowly building back up its reputation under Yasuhide, and subsequently his son Tsubame, who then delivered the Fushimi-kai to his brother, Takuya, the current oyabun that has hand-tailored the Fushimi-kai back to its former strength, and its current fearsome version.
Operations: Since the revival of the Fushimi leadership, the Fushimi-kai had found a strict but careful form of operation, one that has lent to the groups success. Once widely scattered and unorganized, it now operates so cleanly that it is often hard to tell when one is even associated with the Fushimi-kai, at least at the upper ranks- though the oyabun is quite well known. They aren't as far reaching as some of the other organized crime groups, but the power of their execution is what puts them at the top.
The Fushimi-kai has mastered the subtle art of political subterfuge, often having a small hand in most governmental operations. Though not always exercising their influence, it keeps them in the loop and able to orchestrate plans at higher levels, and have a hand in controlling the public eye. Shareholding go hand in hand with this, having ties to many businesses, but the largest part of the Fushimi-kai's power comes from their arms dealing and contract killing, with smuggling of foreign goods following close behind.
Organization Structure:
Oyabun (kumicho) - The Fushimi-kai's upper hierarchy is stricter and smaller unlike other powerful yakuza. The oyabun is the boss, of which his subordinates order to and are ultimately loyal to. To receive sake from the oyabun is to become apart of the 'immediate family', and the hierarchy underneath the oyabun is determined by the sakazuki itself. In the Fushimi-kai, the oyabun is also the kumicho to other groups.
Saiko-Komon - The Saiko-komon, sometimes referred to as the Corporate Boss, oversees most of the legitimate business affairs and rackets, and controls their own turf and subsequent underlings. The Saiko are essentially considered 'administration'.
So-Honbucho - Equal in rank to the Saiko, the So-Honbucho is much like a headquarters chief. The So-Honbucho assembles meetings, oversees some finances and logistics (rackets) and has access to the sokaiya (shareholders).
Waka-Gashira - Considered second in the chain of command and a part of the board of directors underneath the oyabun, much like a 'first lieutenant'. The Waka-Gashira governs several gangs in a region, assisted by the Fuku-Gonbucho. The Waka-Gashira carries out the direct orders of the oyabun, and makes sure the other members stay in line and follow the orders as well. The head of all enforcement, and considered Number Two.
Fuku-Gonbucho - Like a District Manager, the Fuku-Gonbucho oversees certain gangs and rackets in a region, has access to bosozoku, as well as able to recruit new members and collect dues.
Shatei-Gashira - Sometimes called the Street Boss, the Shatei-Gashira head the smaller gangs, mostly in control of the street level of criminal activity. With much responsibility, the Shatei-Gashira “go down” for the Yakuza and do prison time to prevent higher ups from ever being discovered or charged. Commands the younger/lower members. Thought of as a 'second lieutenant'.
Shingiin - Manages the group's legal affairs, answers to the Saiko-Komon. Essentially a legal advisor.

Rackets: The rackets run by the Fushimi-kai are various, but run under strict leadership and protocol. The rackets depend greatly upon the leader of the region, so it varies mostly by area. Popular ones are found in casinos, restaurants, and bars- of which most also dabble in the arms dealing that the Fushimi-kai is well-versed in. While they are the most popular, they are certainly not the only ones, and that is precisely what makes the Fushimi-kai hard to track down.
Code of Conduct: The Fushimi-kai follows a code of jingi - "justice and duty", with loyalty and respect as a way of life. It follows the oyabun-kobun structure, where kobun owe their allegiance to the oyabun, formalized by the sakazuki or sharing of sake from a single cup. All loyalty is transferred to the boss, who most are loyalty to simply to have a place to turn to, after abandonment or exile. The Fushimi-kai is known for extending its hand to those in need, but also those that can be trusted. While the Fushimi-kai has a system of checks and balances, it primarily is ordered like a family, and the loyalty to one's family is primary. One must be willing to go down to preserve the family. One must not be messy with their work and their secrets.
Nature: The Fushimi-kai is a calm storm, one that does not act rashly, nor leave loose ends. It operates subtly, but with a strong modicum of control. Perhaps not outwardly violent, their methods can certainly be harsh, perhaps alluding back to their assassin roots. Their clean and quiet way is a means to preserve the overall control of the group and to avoid risk.
Though adaptive, the Fushimi-kai adheres to certain yakuza traditions, such as the sakazuki, and the yubitsume penance. Irezumi tattoos are also popular in the Fushimi-kai, but due to their more subtle nature they are not often full-body covering, but still portraying traditional symbols. The Fushimi-kai might have a strict upper power, but it is also adept at cooperation and working together with other groups - big and small. Of course, betrayal is not handled lightly.
Loyalty: Members of the Fushimi-kai are strongly loyal, as is their code of conduct. Loyal to their leaders and loyal to the oyabun, the Fushimi-kai will die for their cause, though use every means to prevent drastic measures. They are cautious but accepting, and take in those that need refuge. The oyabun is strict, but well-respected and well-liked by the other members.
