( Heyyy... XD Uh, so here's my extremely delayed reply? I can't believe I let another two months go by without saying anything. Ugh, I'm really bad at this, haha. Oops )
His words caused Brynn to snap her attention back to him. Realizing that she'd been staring absentmindedly at him while lost in her own thoughts, she was quick to avert her eyes. A slight frown settled on her face, and she ran a hand through her hair and sighed to herself. His attitude was stressing her out, bit by bit. She decided that she probably shouldn't have approached him earlier that day, offering to share notes. What on Earth had made her think that would be a good idea?
"I never said anything about being displeased," Brynn muttered in return, "you just assume that you know what I'm thinking. You've been doing that right from the first time I spoke to you. It's hardly fair." She got up from her seat, suddenly wishing she could just leave and go home. "But if you want me gone so badly, then fine. I can tell when I'm not welcome." The added bitterness to her tone when she spoke that last bit was a mistake; it slipped out before she could stop it. She moved to hurry back over to her seat that much faster, almost desperate to get away.

(Hey, life happens. Don't worry about it, Aqua. ^^ )
"Oh look, she can take a hint," Winter muttered as if to himself, but clearly loud enough for the girl to still hear. He wasn't big on working with others. He could accomplish so much more on his own without having to deal with someone constantly on his back, thinking he couldn't handle the simplest of tasks. Her bitter tone, also, didn't escape his notice. What did she have to be bitter about? That someone actually didn't want to be around her for a change? Teacher's pet couldn't always be popular with everyone, to her dismay. Whatever he problem was, he wasn't about to concern himself with it.
(Should we time skip to the end of the school day or something?)

( Haha okay, :3 Thanks for understanding. )
Barely, just barely, did Brynn manage to stop herself from turning around and snapping something rude back at Winter. She bit the inside of her cheek, forcing herself to keep walking toward her desk. She couldn't keep the scowl off her face though, and the expression stayed there until the class was over and then some. The look was so unlike her that even her closest friends were almost too scared to ask what was wrong.
( Yeah, sure! We can do that now, I just wanted to type a quick thing for Brynn's reaction, haha. Gosh, it's gonna take forever for these two to even become friends, let alone something more, XD It's gonna be awesome )

(Hehe, it is, but that's half the fun. XD They shouldn't be buddy buddy too soon. Although, I may start showing some of Winter's struggles now, just to give some build up to future issues to be worked on later. And you can do the same for Brynn whenever you feel like it too. ^^ )
The end of the school day couldn't have come soon enough for Winter. Honestly, he didn't know why he bothered staying the entire day. Nothing of any importance was taught to him, and all the lectures really did was put him to sleep. He could have easily slipped away at lunch like he normally did without any problems. Yet, he had carried out his duty as a "responsible" student. But because of that, his nerves were shot and patience worn thin. Each echoed conversation around him grated at him, rubbing him the wrong way. How could anyone talk in this kind of place, fighting one another to be heard over hundreds of other people? God, he just wanted to leave. There would be no stopping by his locker for him. No, he was making a bee-line for the door. Or, that had been the goal until someone had the nerve to knock into him, forcefully might I add, causing the boy to trip.
"Look a here. The delinquent can't even walk properly," sneered an all too familiar voice. Josh Fairburn, the school's top dog. Why? Was he star athlete? Straight A student? No. He was the one everyone looked up to/wanted to be/feared because he had to be the richest kid in school. Always wearing the latest trends, throwing the best parties, and just assuming he had the best in crowds the school had to offer. No one dared spoke out against him in fear of becoming a social outcast. Luckily, Winter never cared about this since he wasn't a fan of the whole socializing scene.

( It is indeed! I love developing and building up the relationships between characters, it's definitely one of my favourite parts of writing. And yeah, that makes sense. I've already described a bit of Brynn's own struggles a little in past posts. I mostly fit those bits in when I see the best opening for them, haha. )
It wasn't until her history class was over did Brynn finally start to feel herself calm down again. Thankfully, though Winter turned out to be in one other class along with her, she was able to ignore him entirely by focusing strictly on her schoolwork. At lunch, she hung out with her friends and joked around, only sparing a moment's thought on the irritating boy when someone asked her about the history project she was working on 'together' with him. She was able to steer the conversation away from this topic easily, and finished the rest of her lunch in peace. The rest of her classes passed by quickly, and before she knew it, it was the end of the day. She stopped by her locker to drop off the things she wouldn't need to take home and lingered there for a few moments longer than she needed to, inwardly dreading the return to the cold and empty house she called home.
But she needed to pick up Marissa and take her home as well, so she couldn't dawdle forever. With a quiet, resigned sigh, Brynn shut and locked the door to her locker, and began making her way toward the doors of the school. When she rounded the final corner and the doors were finally in sight, however, she felt her steady pace falter ever so slightly. There, not at all that far from where she was, stood two boys, neither of which she was excited to see. One was Winter, and the other was Josh Fairburn. Of course, she knew who Josh was. Honestly, between his family and her family, there was likely enough money to outright buy the entire school that they attended. Upon approaching, it looked as if Fairburn was giving Winter a tough time, and honestly, after how rude Winter was to her earlier, she wanted no part in whatever was going on, no matter how much she was opposed to bullying. She was already running low on patience with people today, so she hoped she'd be able to slip by the two without them noticing. "Just keep walking," she muttered to herself, "don't get involved."

(Same here. And I feel like these two have enough going on with them that we will have plenty of developing to do. XD)
These types of encounters weren't an uncommon thing. Since Winter transferred to the school three years ago, Josh had seemed to be fixated on him. Why? Possible because he was an easy target. The generic emo kid who avoid anything and everything to do with "normal society, the guy that put up an untouchable bravado to keep people away: Something about that must have painted a huge bulls-eye on him. In realty, he was just an extreme introvert, but how were you going to explain that to someone like Josh? Instead, the boy just muttered a less than friendly phrase as he tried to walk around the other.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did I interfere with you going home?" Josh asked, sarcasm dripping from his words. Despite having him say a different variation of this taunt nearly everyday, Winter still froze mid-step. Had it been earlier in the day, he might have ignored him. However, right now, he was so fed up with everything, he could feel his anger rising as Josh continued. "Or should I say the cardboard box you were left in? You know, by now I think you must have decorated it quiet nicely. Well, as nicely as you would be able to manage. Say, if you're ever looking to expand, I think I have a box that'd work just fine."
It was a petty thing, he knew that. But it was always the petty stuff that rubbed him the wrong way. Without really giving it too much thought, Winter turned and swung a punch at Josh. The other boy was anticipating the reaction since Winter was always so easily riled up. He noticed the pattern and he took advantage of it. Josh simply leaned out of the way and thew his own punch, his fist connecting with Winter's nose and causing him to stumble a couple of steps.

( Yes, exactly, and I'm looking forward to it! XD )
Maybe Brynn would've been able to get away without becoming involved, if not for the fact that when Jogh swung a punch back at Winter, Winter himself almost stumbled right into her. Perhaps she should have given the two boys a wider amount of space when walking around them. Maybe then it wouldn't have happened. Or maybe it would have anyway, because she was so stretched thin on her own patience at that moment. She felt the last of it snap like a twig underfoot and she backed away several steps, the words on the tip of her tongue before she had the mental capacity to stop herself.
"Do you have to fight right here, in the middle of the damn hallway?!" She snapped at both boys in a rage, finally letting the frustration seep out at full force. "You're being a nuisance, both of you. You always do this, it's getting so old! Go beat the crap out of each other outside for all I care. No one wants to see this ridiculous display of testosterone anymore! I'd rather drive my car off a damn cliff!"
She was left panting slightly by the time the words had pierced the air. She drew in a deep breath, slowly unclenching the fingers that had become fists during her tirade. There were people, some of them her friends, some of them classmates, who were staring at her now. Brynn was usually the one going in to stop bullying, soothed people with calm and friendly words. But she was not that girl right now. She was stressed out, a little moody, and she just wanted to go home and pretend like everything in her life wasn't being dictated by the expectations and righteous attitudes of the people around her. Like she wasn't expected to be the perfect fill-in for her dead older brother. Like she wasn't going insane from the pressure of it all.
"Just..." the word was breathed out in a much softer tone, and she reined her temper back in slowly while refusing to meet anyone's eyes, gradually becoming privy to the fact that she'd, for just a few moments, had exposed a part of herself that she definitely never wanted anyone here to see. "Just stop." And that said, she nearly tripped over her own two feet as she rushed for the front doors again, a wave of horror invading her senses and stealing the breath from her lungs.
( And so Brynn starts to lose it a little, XD This is only the beginning. I feel as if in the future, Winter is going to be the cause - whether directly or indirectly - of a lot more of these outbursts, haha! He's just the type of person who can get under her skin in a way that not many others can, I feel. )

Winter didn't have to reach up to know his nose was bleeding. He had suffered many of these punches before to know the feeling of blood trickling down his face. It only added to his frustration that Josh could repeated land such blows on him after all this time. The boy was ready to lunge at his attacker when a voice shouted at them. He turned his sharp gaze to see Morgan, looking as ticked off as he felt, yelling at them for their idiocy. This brought him out of the tunnel vision he had been in. As could be expected, the little fight had brought several onlookers, and Morgan's outburst only added to the numbers.
"You heard her, Winters, this scene is getting entirely too old," Josh mused, smirking. "It's pathetic really to just see you get yourself beat up day after day."
No one stepped up to offer any assistance to diffuse the situation. No one echoed Morgan's words, no one agreed with Josh, and certainly no one spoke up for his defense. Why would they? He hadn't done anything to make them want to act friendly towards him, so why should they risk their social status by stepping up for him. Winter could easily resume the attack, but no doubt there would be more people to speak on Josh's behalf. Not to mention that as Morgan left, a teacher could be seen making his way towards them. The last thing he wanted was to be stuck here for several more hours. With his temper still unchecked, the boy turned his back on Josh as he shoved his way towards the door, snarling cussing at anyone who looked to be in his way.
(Hehe, yes, that is a fair assumption of how Winter will be to her. They both have different struggles, but I like how they share struggles too. I think they'll find a connection in the way of both believe someone else is always in control of their lives.)

Brynn couldn't get out of there fast enough. She dimly heard Josh say something else, presumably to Winter, but she refused to stop and figure out what it was. Her ears were ringing faintly. She pushed open the doors to the school a bit too forcefully, desperate to breathe in some fresher air. Once the heavy doors shut behind her, she allowed herself a moment of respite, leaning back against the wall of the school in an attempt to calm her rapid pulse.
"Stupid, you're so stupid," she grumbled at herself, crossing her arms tightly over her chest and almost hunching in on herself. "God, now everyone's going to think..." what would everyone think? She had undoubtedly shown off a side to her that she'd hoped would never see the light of day outside of home. Yet her picturesque facade had come off so easily with just a few punches of a fight that she wasn't even directly involved in. She'd thought she was better than this, how embarrassing...
The doors next her slightly hunched over frame burst open again, and it startled Brynn. Her eyes swung over to see Winter, looking just as ticked off as he had a few moments ago inside. Great. She wasn't ready to even look at the likes of him right now, so she inched away to the left slightly, hoping that he'd just continue to go on his way and not notice her standing there looking like a pathetic wreck. She didn't know if he'd blow up at her or if he'd just scoff at her, but she wasn't sure she could handle either at the moment.
( Exactly my thoughts, haha. It also may be a bit too soon, seeing as they can't even see eye to eye at the moment, but I'm trying to picture their relationship beyond the point of hostility and distrust, and I can kinda see what it may be like once they're on friendlier terms. I can almost imagine a reluctant(keyword being reluctant, haha) friendship built on a mutual understanding of one another, but at the same time also being backed by a penchant for teasing and taunting one another. Like they come to see that they're more alike than they first thought, but they'd both rather make fun of one another than sit down and have a meaningful talk about it, haha. If that makes sense? XD )

Lucky for Brynn, Winter actually didn't notice her as he left the school. He had one thing on his mind, and that was to get as far away from the school as possible. There was no car waiting for him in the parking lot, his or belonging to a family member. So the boy was stuck with walking. Which was probably a good thing. If he did have a car, he wouldn't be in the best state of mind to drive anyway. The walk would help clear his mind, or that was the hope at least.
Josh had been wrong. Winter had not, in fact, been going home, if you could even call it that. Maybe it was just him that didn't regard the house he lived in currently his "home." No, instead, he was heading anywhere but there. His exact destination was unknown at the moment, but he didn't fear of getting lost. His feet had a good habit of taking him to a place he could hand out and blow off steam.
(Shall we time skip to their next meeting?)
(That is exactly how I picture them as well. XD I've used Winter in several rps, so I know the base level on which he'll react/get along with any girl I pair him with. However, this is the first time I've paired him with someone like Brynn. I'm really excited to see how they'll both react to each other when she starts understanding how unstable his mental state is and he sees that she's struggling with her own problems as well. I think it'll be really cute and fun and just an amazing pair.)

( Yeah, sure! What do you think the likelihood of them meeting outside of school would be? They have very different lives, but I think them encountering each other in a non-school setting could be a good idea. Brynn doesn't put as much effort into keeping up the facade outside of school, and maybe this could also be a chance for both of them to see a more 'real' side to one another? Even though come the next school day afterwards, Brynn's cheerful act will be right back up in full force, haha. I think one of the first steps to understanding Brynn is coming to realize that the person she presents publicly is not who she actually is. That's probably her biggest flaw and is going to be the most difficult thing she's going to have to face. She's been hiding behind this fake version of herself for so long that it's hard to drop the mask and be herself. I can almost picture later on, when they're a lot closer, Winter getting frustrated with her because she still keeps putting up that fake cheerful front even though by that point, he'd clearly know that it's just a way to mask what she's really feeling. Haha, sorry, I rambled a bit too much. This was supposed to be about deciding on a time-skip, XD Whoops )
( Ah! This is the first time I've officially used Brynn in an RP, but I've been developing her in my head for the better part of a year now. I can pretty much determine her own reactions to a lot of different personalities as well. I can't wait for the moments when they come to realize each other's struggles! I feel like Brynn would feel kinda guilty later on for treating him the way she did once she realizes he's the way he is for a reason. She'd probably also come to understand why he rejected her friendly advances in the beginning. I think their relationship is going to be a strong one... once they can actually stop getting riled up at the mere sight of one another that is, haha. )

(Hmm, that's a good question. There's only a few places Winter will go to spend his time. One's the music store within the mall, another is a pool hall that he somehow manages to get into, and if he goes anywhere else, he's usually with his best friend, Drake. Maybe Brynn has a job at the same place Drake does, so the two of them sort of know each other. One day, Winter comes to pick up Drake after his shift ends. That might be the only place outside of school they might run into each other normally. See, that's so perfect because Winter has the same thing going on. The only difference is, he doesn't know he's putting up a front. It would take days to fully describe Winter's problems, but I'll try to condense it as best as I can without giving too much away/boring you. The best way I can describe it is with using his names as the metaphors. We have Winter, the boy he has become, and we have Jace, the boy he's suppose to be. Jace is the version of him he tries to protect, and in order to do that, he created Winter, the obstacles everyone has to get through in order to see him at his best. In his mind, "Winter" is all he can remember being since he created this persona at a very early age. So for Brynn, the hardest part is for her to break through his walls. If done wrong, however, it could have some very bad end results *hint to future possible drama*. Winter can easily see through Brynn's facade because 1) He's a very blunt person to begin with and doesn't believe in doing anything that you don't like to do, and 2) He does have a sort of knack for reading people. That helps when he's trying to irritate people. Lol, yeah, but who cares? I like this. I haven't had a chance to fully talk about characters like this in a while, especially Winter. I love going on about Winter's state of mind. He's just a melting pot of problems and self-pity. XD )
(I can honestly say, I think Brynn is the best match for Winter that I've seen so far. You clearly have a great understanding of her, and it shows. I think this is going to turn out great. They compliment each other nicely, and have a genuine connection, even though we haven't really done much with them. It'll take a lot of time, I'll admit that, but I think they'll fill in each other's cracks, steadying one another once they see what's really going on with each other. They're the not perfect, but they're better when they're together type of couple.)

( That sounds like it could potentially work. Where does Drake work, if I may ask? I could definitely see Brynn getting some type of part-time job in order to eat up as much time as possible before she has to go home again. To be honest, she spends as little time at home as possible, only really going back to sleep at night and be present for 'family meetings' - which is something she detests because it's almost always onesided and involves her getting criticized and scrutinized by her parents. So yeah, her having a job outside of school even when she doesn't really need the extra cash is definitely plausible, haha. I love talking about the intricacies of characters and what makes them tick. It's not boring to me in the slightest, so I love reading about Winter's mental state and why he is the way he is. It's awesome how similar yet different he is to Brynn. Brynn herself created her facade when she was a young teen, but it wasn't until her older brother died that it outright became pretty much an alternate self. She never had the time or space to properly grieve for him because she was immediately put under vast amounts of pressure and expectations to be the fill-in heiress to her family's legacy - but at the same time, never quite being good enough for it, paling in comparison when her grades couldn't be as good as his were, when she turned out to be no good at sports, when she was just an average middle child right from the very beginning. Eventually at some point, her 'real' self kind of just broke, and she built up a fake front that still seemed like her old 'real' self, but better, happier, friendlier. She wears this face in front of her parents, too. They'd be the first to pounce on her insecurities if she exposed them. Basically, while it's not the only reason, her brother's death is the driving reason why she is the way she is. I'm not sure if she'd even be able to grieve for him if given the chance, after the time that's passed without hardly a tear shed. I'm honestly unsure if she'd know how. )
( Oh wow, really? O.o That kind of surprises me, since it is her debut into the RPing world after all, haha. But it makes me happy to hear anyway. Thanks, XD Character development is hands down my favourite part of doing all this. It's also where I excel the most in my writing. It's genuinely fun for me, and it's ridiculous how carried away I can get with it if I don't rein myself in, haha. But yeah, I definitely agree that this is going to turn out great. When I can easily picture future interactions, it's usually a good sign. And the fact that this is a relationship that's going to take time makes it all the better. I've never been a huge fan of two complete strangers instantly falling head over heels for one another. Even if one party develops a crush early on, it's still best to take time to develop it, you know? I admittedly do enjoy more fluffy, romantic plots sometimes, but you gotta draw the line somewhere. This all being said, I want to ask - maybe not right now, but would you be interested in roleplaying more than just this idea with me? It's not uncommon for me to be doing more than one plot with the same person at the same time, but only if that's something you'd be interested in. Plus I just have so many unused characters waiting for their chance, and it's hard to find a dedicated RP partner these days, haha. Wow this got long, XD )

(Usually I have him working at a clothing store, so I think that would be a good place for Brynn to work as well. Not the best pay in the world, but something to keep her busy. XD Not to mention I think Drake and her would get along really well. He's the complete opposite of Winter. It's great. Oh, this is going to work out so nicely. Hehe, you can bet your bottom dollar that Winter's going to cause trouble with her parents for the amount of pressure they've put on her. He has problems with parent figures anyway, so it'll be no surprise if he just starts a fight with hers. Or at the very least, he'll try to convince her to just ignore them and let them worry about filling their standards on their own. There's going to be a cute little moment where he holds her while she cries, either because the stress has gotten to her or she's finally able to grieve. )
(Her personality and characteristics and the way she thinks just line up so nicely with Winter's. It has enough shared points to have bonding moments and enough natural variation to give us some unique problems with each of them. Oh, it's the best. I'm not really that good with it because sometimes that I don't really have an idea of what I want a new character to be. In Winter's case, it's taken me five or more years to fully get a grip on his state of mind and behaviors, to really make him a real person. But it's been a fun process. He's like a puzzle that I've had to solve. Nah, forget that love at first sight cliche. I need characters that rub each other the wrong way, who annoy one another, who might not be the first pick for potential dates. I need characters who won't take the other for granted when they do realize they have feelings for each other. Now, there's nothing wrong with fluffy romantic plots if they've got good story with them, and there will be some cute filler scenes with these two, I'm sure. I definitely feel like Winter might be the first to get a crush on Brynn, but he's such a noob at love he'll just try to deny it/won't know what to do about it. Sure! I'd be happy to take on another plot with you. ^^ I agree, finding a person who'll stick with a plot or but this much thought into everything is very hard to find. But all of this so far just feels right. I like this. I know I've said that a hundred times already, but it's true. XD)

( I have returned from the dead yet again, haha. XD With a really long response.
But yeah! I could totally see Brynn working at a clothing store during her free time! Haha, and maybe later on Drake could like give her relationship advice and stuff pertaining to Winter, XD Cause I don't think she's gonna be able to crack his shell so easily on her own, haha. That's probably gonna be one of the hardest things for her to let go of, honestly. I mean, Brynn is fully aware that she's not much more than a convenience to her parents, but there's a big part of her that strives for their approval solely because she wants them to appreciate her and love her. I think Winter interfering with that relationship will cause a lot of friction and negativity at first. She'll be in like a constant state of, "What the hell are you doing?!" toward him, probably. But oh my goodness, I can't wait for that little moment when she finally breaks down and he comforts her. I live for fluffy moments like that, haha.
Haha, I don't think we could have chosen better characters for this RP, honestly. When we were still in the planning phases, I was really considering taking on the more anti-social role, because I also have a plethora of perpetually salty and sulky characters to choose from, but I really love the way we decided to go with the characters we chose in the end, haha. Winter is so great. Haha yeah, I also love the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers transition. The whole love at first sight thing is too overdone anyway. I will admit though, I've always been a bit of a fan of the 'from childhood friends to more' scenario as well. I think those are adorable, personally, XD Haha, I can definitely see Winter's feelings influencing Brynn to eventually come to realize her own. Almost like she sees like a shift in his behaviour toward her one day and it gets her overthinking about it. Like maybe they've become friends at this point and one day he gets defensive over something she says that pertains to romance, or he acts a bit distant while he's trying to figure out what he's feeling, and Brynn kinda starts freaking out, thinking she offended him and she's like back to square one with him, haha. And it just eats at her until she has to stop and wonder why it bothers her so much and then she reaches the conclusion that maybe she's started to feel something for him. And then she starts panicking, XD Ah okay! That's great to hear because I really do like having several different RPs going at the same time, XD That way it also allows for a break from one plot if muse is running low, we can just focus on the other for a bit instead. There's this one RP partner I have that I also do this with, and we have like... 10+ different RPs that we alternate between, XD We tend to focus on two or three at a time, though. I find it really helps with keeping things fresh so no one gets bored. Anyway! Rambling aside, what other things would you be interested in RPing? I'm not super picky, but I tend to prefer supernatural or fantasy elements in my RPs a lot. I also do a lot of fandom RPs as well, to be honest. I'm not opposed to RPing canon characters for fandom RPs, either. I've done a lot of different kinds of RPs over the years, so I'm open to a lot, haha. )

(Haha, glad to see you've survived death. XD)
(Oh, you know Drake is going to work his hardest into getting Winter a girlfriend. XD Being the best friend he is, he'll be the one to hear the way Winter talks about Brynn, see the changes in his behavior whenever she's around. It'll be his sole goal as a character to help break open his shell, haha. Ugh, that's a horrible state for anyone to be in, so I feel for Brynn. Since Winter's so far on the opposite end of that spectrum, it's going to be great seeing him trying to slap some sense into both her and her parents. XD And that will be a moment worthy for recording, lol. The moment Winter realizes that this girl means more to him than he would ever admit. And he'll absolutely hate it. X3
Salty and sulky is my weak spot. XD Whether it's rping them or having to rp the preppy one, I gravitate towards some character that's a grouchy bean. They're like challenges that are daring people to solve them. I just feel like they have so much more to offer, more development, more conflicts, more personality. And then there's those like Brynn who hit you on a more personal level, which is equally as nice to rp/rp with. Oh, no. That love and first sight stuff is just boring as everything. I hate that. Sure, you might see something that draws you to that person, but love? I think that's a little far fetched. Childhood friends to lovers I adore because you know that's just a reat match, but I'm with you. I like that slow burn of enemies to lovers. AHHH! I love that. X3 Socially awkward Winter is going to give her such a terrible time because he struggles with comprehending his feelings.
We must do fantasy! XD I love the medieval-ish setting fantasy the best. But I'm open to any kind of fantasy plots you have in mind. I think it'll be nice something completely different than the first plot.)

( Haha, wingman Drake, XD It's perfect. I imagine Brynn will also be like venting to him about Winter a lot during their shared shifts at the clothing store, haha! He'll be getting it from both sides, XD And Brynn will fight him every step of the way until she's finally able to see sense, XD It's a long and frustrating battle ahead for the both of them. Haha yeah. I think Brynn would totally be the type to feel absolutely mortified once she's calmed down, XD Like, "I can't believe I let him see me like that," kind of reaction. But then she would accept it and then probably be a lot more open after. I think this would be a major turning point in their relationship, honestly.
Haha salty and sulky characters are actually my strong suit, XD Or maybe it's more along the lines of characters who are just kind of falling apart in one way or another, whether it's plain to see or not. Which explains why I connect with Brynn's character even though she's not outwardly salty or sulky. 'Cause she's definitely that way on the inside, haha. Yeah exactly. To be honest, I don't really believe in love at first sight in the real world. Maybe a strong sense of attraction or admiration, but to say that you've fallen in love with someone you met literally three seconds ago is just ridiculous. Childhood friends to lovers is a bit of a weakness for me, right after enemies to lovers. Actually, scratch that. Any well-developed relationship is my weakness, haha. Oh, boy, XD Poor Brynn's just gonna be so worried that she's done something horrible to offend him like all the time, haha. Like internally panicking 24/7, her thoughts all over the place wondering what she did wrong and how to fix it, XD That's gonna be a rocky phase in their relationship, for sure.
Ahhh fantasy! XD I'm personally a fan of modern fantasy, but I'm more than down for medieval fantasy as well. I don't really have any ideas for plots, though, XD I do have a craving to make a character who's a dragon, though. Like the kind whose magic allows them to take on a human form and stuff, haha. I think that'd be so cool. )

(He'll enjoy it though because he'll be helping two friends fall in love. It's the simple things in life that matter to him, haha. And I look forward to every step of the way. XD She doesn't have to worry about him seeing her cry. I fully intend for her to experience one of Winter's break downs as well. They're full of self-pity and angst and all that good stuff. XD
EXACTLY!! There's nothing better than a character dealing with their own demons, whether they know what they are or not. Same. Give me a couple who has known each other for a while, whether friends or nemesis, and I will ship them so hard I'll sink the ship by accident. XD But they have to be a good match. Not forced. Ah, but one she'll soon see is nothing major. Winter's just horrible at handling emotions, lol. She'll learn how to work around the him eventually.
Speaking of which, did you want to start off the plot with her going in the work? We can have scene with just her and Drake to set up their dynamic as friends/co-workers before moving on with the main plot.
Hey, so long as it's fantasy, I really don't care what time era it's in. XD All I know if, I have some elf character's I would love to use, and I love your dragon already. For the past few months I've been thinking a lot of the stories where dragons could disguise themselves as humans, so that would be the best thing ever!)

( Haha, I can't wait to RP with him, he already sounds like an awesome side character, XD Ooh, that's gonna be something! XD Brynn has a tendency to get emotional when the people close to her get emotional, XD They'll both be complete wrecks, and she'll just be trying to comfort him while she's just like sniffling and holding back tears herself, haha. And if he brings it up she'll just be like, "I'm not crying, you're seeing things. Now shut up, I'm trying to console you." XD
Yes! XD Haha, to sum it all up, I guess what really gets me invested in something is when both the characters and their relationships are developed and believable. I'm all over that stuff, haha. It's what I live for. I think eventually it would get to the point where she's kinda playfully exasperated with his failing at emotions, XD Like, she grows accustomed to the signs and signals he gives off and she just sits there waiting for him to sort it all out with a funny look on her face. She's much more in tune with her own emotions than he is, haha. For the most part.
Yeah, yeah, that's fine with me! :3 Who should start it back up?
For some reason, the idea of a dragon in a modern setting makes me giggle, XD Like they'd spend most of their time in human form because obviously, no one believes in fantastical winged beasts in this day and age, haha. They'd long for the days of the past, when dragon-kind was feared and revered, haha. Totally the kind of character to complain about being too old for this and that all the time, while their physical human appearance is no older than maybe early twenties, XD )

( Haha, I can tell, XD Ow wow. Poor guy, that's an awful outlook to have on things. Brynn would definitely get super irate at that though. Be all like, "You're not hurting me. It's called empathy, you emotionally crippled airhead. It means I care."
True that, XD Brynn just looks at him even more before casually looking away, "No reason. Just watching the gears turn in your head, ever so slowly. It's kind of funny." XD
Okay, I'll start it back up then, XD Probably soon, haha.
Haha! XD Yeah sure! I can already see a character like that being super fun to RP, haha. Do you have a preference for their gender, or are you fine with whichever? I can totally make it work with either. )

(Emotionally crippled airhead. XD That's Winter in a nutshell. Oh, she's going to have a fun time undoing the mental damage he has.
He'll just sulk, lol, muttering about how insensitive this woman is being. XD
Okay. If you change your mind, let me know. ^^
In my mind, I saw the dragon as a guy, but that's just because I tend to make more guy characters than girls. For some reason, that just makes sense, but I really don't care. Make it how you want it. I'll be fine with whichever you were planning.)

( Oh yeah, XD Such a fun time that she'll want to scream and beat him over the head a lot of the time, haha.
Basically, XD I really like that even as they'll get closer, the sass never really leaves their relationship, haha. I can just picture them bickering over the smallest things all the time and poking fun at each other? It's great.
Okay, noted. XD
XD I was thinking the exact same thing, honestly. I kind of already established him as a he before I even asked, I just wanted to be polite about it. I already have so much about his character mapped out, and I literally just came up with the idea for this character like minutes ago. That's usually a good sign, XD )

( Oh, without a doubt, XD
Now I can only picture like a future with them like living an extremely domestic life together, and they're constantly at each other over things like who's turn it is do the shopping or wash the dishes, XD It's far off, but I can totally see it, haha.
Concerned, maybe? XD Haha but your character can be whatever you want them to be? Human or half-something, it's fine. I would like to say that since this a modern fantasy, that maybe the world isn't as populated with like magical beings and whatnot as it used to be? I can see most non-humans choosing to live separate from humanity, with a few exceptions, possibly? Maybe in present day, magic and magical beings are slowly starting to go extinct as more scientific progress is made? I'm just throwing out ideas here, XD )

(But she's too invested now to leave him, so she just puts up with him. XD
So can I, lol! Domestic is a little strange to describe Winter, since he spends so much time avoiding that kind of life, but that's what makes this so interesting. She's going to take him down a lot of notches.
XD Yeah, makes sense. My idea was that by now, all of the humaniod-ish races have blended together so much that there's no "Pure" bloodlines anymore. Those who are full Elf or whatever are, like you said, living off in isolation because they want to preserve their race. That's why I thought half-elf or even a quarter-elf might be best so she can have some ties to magical abilities without actually being too skilled in it. I can also see how science would force them into hiding as well. So I think it'd be easy to blend our ideas together with no problems. )

( Dang straight, XD
Haha yeah, XD I've said it so many times now, but I really do love their dynamic and how well they work with one another, haha. Ah, I don't really like having to do this, but I'm having a little trouble with typing up the parts to kick the RP back off, XD Could you maybe take over for that? The struggle here is real, XD Sorry to impose
Yes, yes! That all sounds lovely! We're forming a great base for our new RP, XD I'm thinking that dragons in particular are a race that is going extinct quicker than others, because they're a very proud race and by far the least interested in mingling with humans. So my dragon-boy is one of the few who's still remaining. If your character is half-elf or quarter-elf, I'm thinking that he'd be able to pick up on any magical potential they may have, so he'd almost immediately be able to tell that she's not 100% human. Either way, he's still just a cranky dragon, so he'd probably react the same way to them whether they're fully human or part magical being, haha. Gosh, we've hardly even established our characters for this, and I'm already looking forward to future interactions, XD )

(Oh, it's going to be so good. X3 And sure! You're not imposing at all. ^^ I'm also going to go ahead and warn you that Drake has Multiple personalities. Or, really, just two. Depending on how long they've been working together/close friends they are, Brynn may or may not know this. Use this information however you see fit.)
It was a normal day for the working folk. Or, at least it was for Drake. The time was currently 4:32 in the afternoon, and the young man was working away. His tasks mainly involved keeping the clothing racks well stocked, but he took it upon himself to ask if any of the customers he saw needed help. Some would find his job mundane or boring, but to the seventeen year old, it was a great job, one that wouldn't hurt if he suddenly had an "episode." But those moments were far and few between whenever he was at work, so that was a good thing.
The boy had been there for two hours. Being home schooled meant he had a more flexible work schedule than most people his age. That also meant it was time for his break. So, he headed back to the small break room where nearly everyone liked to hide away. He went there mainly to see if Brynn had arrived for her shift yet. He liked to talk with her at least once before their work kept them too busy. She kept him filled in on the dramas of public school life, while he, in turn, gave her snippets of conversations he's had the joy of being a silent witness to. He never went so far as to purposefully eavesdrop, but when people were talking loudly next to him while he was working, of course he was going to listen.
(XD Perfect. I love him already. Let him be a little cranky boi. My semi-elf won't be phased a bit. XD Everything sounds really good so far. What else should we establish before we make our characters?)

( Multiple personalities? Oh, that's gonna be interesting, I think. Brynn's pretty sharp, so she may have picked up on it a bit in one way or another. She doesn't really get personal with people unless she's known them for a while, and she's probably only worked at the clothing store for maybe 3-4 months tops. Before that, she had a part-time job at a fast-food place, but that didn't work out. Basically, she's friends with Drake, but kind of in the same way she is with her friends at school, keeping herself a safe distance away from them. I definitely think over time they should become better friends, though. )
Her shift started at 4:45pm that day. Brynn had been somewhat early, currently in the back of the store where the break room was located, killing time on her phone until it was time to get to work. She worked the floor along with Drake, making sure everything was stocked up. Their shifts didn't always overlap one another's, so there were days when she didn't see him. She did rather enjoy the days when they did meet, though. He was fun to talk to, a friend and a welcome distraction from her day-to-day life. In fact, almost everything about this job was a step-up from spending her free-time loitering the halls at home. It kept her busy.
Brynn glanced up from her phone when she heard the door to the break room open. She was half-expecting it to be Drake, and she was right. Upon seeing him, she offered an easy smile, putting her phone in her pocket and greeting him with a simple, "Yo." It was the usual manner in which she addressed him, but strangely enough, he was the only person that she dared to greet so casually. Anyone else would get a more polite and formal greeting. Then again, he was the only friend she had that didn't go to her school, so that very well may be reason enough to drop stuffy formalities.
( Haha wonderful, XD He's totally also a nitpicky type, haha. And obsessed with cleanliness and order. The one to point out a crease in your shirt with a grimace, haha! But also the one who'll make sure you're dressed appropriately for the weather because deep down he cares, even though he is a cranky old dragon who'd like you to think otherwise, XD Hmm, we've got basic world-building taken care of. What about an overall plot? Or should we just RP and plan as we go? Also, should we make a new thread for this, or RP it here? )

(Oh yeah, she's seen him struggling with his other personality from time to time. Drake would definitely told her about it then if only for the reason so she knows what to do with him if he switches between them.)
"Hey, Brynn, I was hoping to find you here," Drake said upon entering the room. Since his schedule was so flexible, he was the only one who never had a consistent pattern to his shifts. Some days he worked with her, some days he didn't. It didn't bother him really. Like her, it gave him something to focus on. He headed over to the small fridge to get out a water bottle. As he did, he asked, "How was school? Any juicy rumors being spread around today? Any cat fights among the cheerleaders?"
(Oh, my girl is the complete opposite. XD He's going to have such a great time. Yes, the plot might be good. I know the over all "threat" of the world is advancing science and their want to study and test magic, but what will make these two meet? Why do they run across each other? That might be good to know. As for where we rp, that's up to you. I'm good with keeping it here, but if you want a new thread, that's fine too.)
