(A quick first starter for Darkpaw. I still donβt have a layout as iβm renovating mine a bit rn) Darkpaw always liked the sense of order Clan camp gave him. Things were always as they were. There were no screeching cars or loud noises as there were in the city. It was constant, reliable, steady- as it should be. It ran in the family, he thought. His mother, being who she was, thought otherwise, of course- but she was always the kind of cat who didnβt believe that some things were the way they were. Blackberry tempted change too often for Darkpawβs comfort, and he felt lucky his grandmother Pantherfang shared his view (although he had to admit her long fangs, bulging scarred eyes, and gore-stained claws terrified him). It was nice to have something, even as small as the flowers always blooming for every spring, that wasnβt volatile, that couldnβt snap in an instant. Something he could trust when trust was something he lacked in perhaps everything else. And as he looked to the sky, the sun heating up his striped pelt, he had to admit he felt at peace for once- although his spineβs pelt was ready to bristle at a momentβs notice.
[ I forgot to reply to this yesterday! Sorry! ]
Sedgepaw saw Darkpaw sitting peacefully, watching the sky. She knew the young tom had the tendency to be quite timid and jumpy, so when she went up to approach him, she made sure to be noisy so he would hear her coming. "Morning Darkpaw!" She greeted, coming around to stand at his front. She liked to get along with everyone, so even though she thought the young, dark tom was weird she still made sure to acknowledge him. "How are you?" She asked with a warm grin, her bushy calico tail brushed on the grass, "What'cha thinkin' about?" She added curiously. Darkpaw found himself relieved somewhat that Sedgepaw hasnβt snuck up on him- his sister did that all the time, and needless to say it did not do his anxiety any favors. Upon Sedgepaw asking him his thoughts, he had to stop and think- what had he been thinking about?... Ah yes, his mother. Too positive and idealistic for even his tastes. She always wanted Nightpaw and himself to try new things and explore the world around them. He always wondered why she did so- especially considering the deaths of his uncles. One was only a young kitten drawn to the splash of waters, and one was always excited by the numbing smell of the steel beasts that lurked the cityβs roads. And yet their curiosity both killed them in the end- Olivekitβs death as he spewed water from his toothless mouth, his eyes filled with confusion and fear as he had not grasped exactly what death was, and Rookpawβs innards strewn over the pavement, ran over and over and over again as if he were a useless crushed tin can, until all that was left was a russet stain. He had never known them, but Pantherfang described their deaths gruesomely and in enough detail that it had been burned on the backs of Darkpawβs eyelids. If anything, Blackberry should be thankful her own thoughtfulness didnβt maim her somehow, he decided. She was a greedy cat who couldnβt even acknowledge her escape from deathβs curiosity as a kit. βNothing,β he said bitterly. βAbsolutely nothing at all.β

Sedgepaw looked at Darkpaw for a few moments, her head tilted slightly. While she did her best to get along with her clanmates, Darkpaw was a cat that she struggled to understand. Even Nightpaw could be a bit odd, but Sedgepaw much preferred the company of the she-cat. At Darkpaws bitter response, she couldn't help but feel momentarily taken aback. Clearly he had been thinking of something and Sedgepaw knew better than to ask any more questions about it. She flicked her ears as a fly flew around them. "How has your training been going? Today I raced up a tree after a squirrel! Usually I miss the squirrel, but today I caught it." She beamed, her chest seemed to puff out proudly.

Jackdawstar nodded his head curiously. He himself couldn't imagine being locked up with twolegs - that sounded awful! In the Clan there were obviously restraints but no where near as much. "I think I'd die of boredom too," he agreed. Not being able to run and catch prey or lay by the water fountain - there was nothing worse! He just knew that if he was locked up he'd run away and never look back. He turned a bit solemn when Callie spoke about her brother and he tilted his head, why on earth would they just take away her brother and give him to someone else? Didn't they understand that family had to stay together to help each other? He unsheathed his claws against the cement at the thought. "That sounds awful - I couldn't ever imagine just having someone stolen away like that!" He meowed passionately. And to never see them again... He stood up tall. "In my clan, we stand by each others side always. We never let anyone down - not even in the darkest of times." He sheathed his claws again. "If you ever need help, I'm around - and so is everyone else. We will always have our paws open." He promised her with a firm nod of his head.
(.) Callie nodded at his words. "There's nothing to do. I would die if they didn't let me out," she said. But she shrugged. It's not like it was a very big deal. Her two legs did let her out during the day and that's all that mattered. She was a very social car and always tried to make new friends. Jackdawstar interested her more than most of the cats she talked to, and she didn't want to stop talking to him any time soon. When he talked about her brother being taken away, her expression turned sad. "I had a mom and a brother and a sister. Piper was my sister, but she was taken away when we were very young. I didn't know her very well. Oliver stayed with me longer and we were best friends. I wasn't allowed to leave when I was that young, so he was my only friend. Sometimes I go to his window and we talk through the glass, but it's not the same as being there with him." His first explanation of clan life sounded nice. She wished she had someone that would stand up for her and have her back, but there was simply no one around for her to have that close of a relationship with. When Jackdawstar said that he would be there for her if she needed help. Him and the others, though she didn't know if the others would accept her. All sadness about Oliver seemed to disappear and she brightened. She didn't like being sad. "Thanks, Jackdawstar," she purred, "That really means a lot."

CHERRYWHISPER | Small Park | Stormstrike Cherrywhisper's ear flicked to show that she had heard him, but her eyes and body remained trained on the squirrel. Slowly, she made her way forward, her paws pressing delicately and silently on the ground with ease. Given the squirrel's proximity to its tree, she knew that it was likely she would have to do some climbing. But hunting was her specialty, and while she knew the squirrel would be fast, she would be faster. Drawing as close as she could to the creature without alerting it of her presence, she took a second to prepare herself. Then, her hind legs bunched up before they thrust her forward, her body hitting the ground at a run. The squirrel immediately rushed up its tree, but with a skilful leap she landed just below it and lunged forward, her jaws closing around its body. Dropping to the ground, she quickly finished it off, silently giving thanks to Starclan for the meal. She padded back towards Stormstrike with her prey hanging from her jaws, dropping it next to his mouse. "And one for me," she said softly, a small smile on her face. ( .) Stormstrike huffed when she brought over her catch. Great, he couldn't keep this hunting up for very long and he really didn't want to be in the morning patrol the next day. He did everything in his power to send other warriors on that patrol instead of him. He wasn't much of a morning cat. Of course, just because he lost the bet doesn't mean he still can't send Cherrywhisper out with him. She'd never see that curve coming. He nodded at their small pile and looked around the park. He spotted a bird and nodded towards it. After that, he dipped his head towards Cherrywhisper and crouched down, taking his time to stalk it. As he was about to pounce, something scared the bird and it took off. Refusing to give up that quickly, he leapt after the bird, but missed it. He landed on his feet and watched it fly away before heading back to Cherrywhisper. "Your turn," he said, staring at the ground in shame at his missed catch.

Hearing Callie's story made Jackdawstar very glad to know that when he lived in the clan, that would never happen in his life. Of course, other tragedies happen - like the death of his sister when they were apprentices. But at least his clanmates were with him. "I mean it too, we are always here to help." He promised. He realised suddenly that he should be heading back to his clan, he felt his paws tugging towards his path back home. But he stood firm, for some reason, to stay with this kittypet. So, he glanced around for a moment, thinking of something else to say... "How do you find the city? What do you spend your time doing around here?" He asked, curious, but also uncertain. He brushed his bushy black tail along the dusty cement. Don't forget about getting back, he reminded himself.

"Wow, that really means a lot," she said. She knew a few rogues that gave her and some of her friends trouble because they were bigger and stronger. She didn't want to call on Jackdawstar so quickly, but maybe she could have him just come and intimidate the rogues a bit. Not attack them or anything crazy, but just intimidate them. Maybe she could at least have him teach her some fighting moves. She wasn't much of a fighter, but she should be able to defend herself. "I don't do much," Callie said with a bit of a shrug. "I mean, I go hang out in the park but that's rare. Usually I end up just going from house to house and see if there's anyone I can talk to. If not, I head back to talk to Oliver. I used to be able to sneak him out through this hole, but his two legs fixed it so now we're trying to find another way to break him out," she said.

[ Where has the day gone, yeesh. ]
Jackdawstar smiled at Callie when she mentioned that his support meant a lot to her, and he felt his face warm under his fur as he dipped his head to her kindly. "That's okay," he meowed softly. He looked her in the eye again when she proceeded to answer his question about how she spent her time, and he nodded. I've never seen her around the park... unless there is a different park... He thought to himself. He wouldn't be surprised if there were many more little parks spread throughout the city - through all his moons of life he was sure he hadn't even explored nearly a quarter of the cement jungle. He frowned when she mentioned she and Oliver were trying to figure out a way for him to escape. "I could help!" He blurted, "Maybe not today, but tomorrow. We could meet up back here and I can see if I can help find an escape for him, so long as you show me where it is." He offered. He thought about asking his clan for assistance, but then figured it would be better if he didn't. He didn't want to frighten Callie and her brother with anyone else, and he wasn't sure if his clanmates would appreciate helping kittypets when they could be doing better things with their time like hunting. So he'd have to come up with an excuse to go out alone. "That is... if you were okay. I might not even be able to help, but maybe a new perspective will help," he shrugged, glancing down a little shyly at his black paws.

I don't think I've ever been taught to cook anything in school before :c ] (the class was called home economics or something iirc, it was one of those classes that aren't the mandatory classes like English and math but you still had to take it anyway. it was just sewing and cooking and that was it. i remember there was another kid who recognized my worn copy of the bluestar super edition and for the entire semester in the class we just sat and talked about the YouTube warrior cats community (this was a long while ago so things like the firestar waffles video were still The Big Thing). what a strange time 6th grade was) [ Was the food good?? Feel like it's only worth it if the food's good in the end xD That's so cool!! Gotta love bonding over warriors books^^ ]

EAGLESTRIKE | Camp | Alone
Eaglestrike sat on the edge of camp, facing outwards at the surrounding city. He always felt the responsibility to help keep the clan safe, and while he knew that their camp was in a relatively good and quiet location, he liked to still keep on high alert. After all, twolegs could be extremely unpredictable at times, and he didn't want them to get too close for comfort. His stance was straight and unmoving, his ears pricked and jaw slightly open to allow him to draw in all the scents in the air around him. Every so often, his tail would twitch, but other than that there were no visible movements from the tom. He didn't flinch at the roar of a distant monster, and his head occasionally turned to allow his gaze to scan a different area of the city. ( aether)

[ Haha xD ]
Snowfeather had spent most of her morning fussing over her sister - the young she-cat couldn't help herself. After she'd seen her sister had been hurt, she panicked. But now Doveheart was resting in the warriors den and Snowfeather wandered around the camp almost aimlessly. Some cats were out hunting, she heard murmurings of Willowstorm and Kestrelclaw with their kits in the nursery, and some apprentices went about their daily in-camp chores. She almost felt lost. She looked towards Eaglestrike at the edge of the camp who sat like a stone - like a guardian. She looked away again and thought of another task she could do, but the camp was in a pleasant lull. She didn't usually approach Eaglestrike - because, to be fair, he didn't often seem approachable - but she did this time. Timidly at first, which seems odd for this usually over the top she-cat, but as she stopped beside him she had gained confidence in her steps. "Good afternoon, Eaglestrike," she greeted with a warm smile. The white she-cat looked from the tom to the city, watching as monsters passed and twolegs occasionally passed nearby. "Feel like going on a patrol?" She asked. She knew she wasn't a great hunter, and she wasn't a great fighter either, but she liked to put in the effort anyways.

[ 'She'd never see that curve coming' Gotta love those loopholes xD How sneaky ]
CHERRYWHISPER | Small Park | Stormstrike "Tough luck," Cherrywhisper meowed softly at his miss, knowing it wasn't by fault of his hunting skills that the bird had gotten away. In truth, she wasn't all that focused on the bet. The most important thing for her is that they were able to catch enough prey to feed their clan, and their competition was simply a motivating factor for that. Yes, she didn't want to have to get up early for the morning patrol, but if she did end up losing, at least fatigue tended to lead to less small talk out on patrol. So it wouldn't be all that bad. It wasn't long before she spotted a particularly fat pigeon nearby, obviously stuffed by the crumbs that twolegs seemed to litter all over the place. Her body once again lowered, her paws slowly bringing her closer to her prey. Unlike Stormstrike, however, she tried not to take her time, knowing birds could be scared by small sounds more easily than other animals - and considering this city was filled with loud and sudden noises, she didn't want to take her chances. Unfortunately, she reached a point where she could no longer get any closer to the bird due to a lack of vegetative cover, but she still wasn't within leaping distance. But she didn't want to allow the bird to get away without at least an attempt at catching it. She steeled herself for a second, taking in a deep breath. When she burst out of the bushes, she deliberately only leaped forward half the distance, before extending her legs out and jumping up above where the pigeon had been located on the ground. The pigeon, who had obviously been startled by her sudden appearance, had began to take flight, but by aiming her jump above where it had been sitting, it fell right into her claws. She delivered the killing bite quickly, and her tail twitched in happiness at her achievement. Two out of three times, that wouldn't have worked for her. It seemed today just happened to be her lucky day. ( .)

EAGLESTRIKE | Camp | Snowfeather
"Snowfeather." Eaglestrike greeted the white she-cat with a slight incline of her head, his gaze sharp but not unkind. He had heard the she-cat approach even as he had watched out over the city, and had turned his head as she stopped beside him. Now, he turned it back out on to the city once more, his eyes narrowing at the sight of a couple of twolegs starting to wander over to them. As they veered off in another direction, however, he relaxed slightly and thought over Snowfeather's offer.
"We could go out on a border patrol. I know there have already been several hunting patrols that have gone out," he finally said in response, turning back towards her once more. A border patrol would give them the opportunity to reset their territory's boundary lines, as well as help them to gauge whether there were any new rogues in the area. In a city as big as this, rogues were a given, but they generally respected the clan's borders. But newcomers seemed to appear every moon, so sometimes had to be reminded of the rules in play here. Their patrol could make sure that no one had overstepped their boundaries. Plus, he had to admit, going out on a border patrol would be a lot more interesting than staying and guarding camp.

[ Sorry for disappearing last night! ]
Snowfeather nodded, knowing that many cats had already gone out hunting - they would all have plenty to eat on this beautiful day. She curled her tail as she looked out to the busy city, and for a moment, she thought about how lucky her clan was to find a small, serene corner of the city. She looked back to Eaglestrike, "A patrol sounds like a good idea," she agreed. Often times new cats didn't know their boundaries, so it was important to keep up with the border patrols. "We can head towards the water fountain first-" the water fountain was a popular spot for many cats, and usually the clan tended to be a little lax about outsiders going there so long as they didn't overstep their boundaries, "-then we can go to the big park, I guess?" She added. The big park was another popular spot, and sometimes outsiders could be aggressive over food and whatnot. Scenting their boundaries reminds outsiders that they were on clan territories.
