CloverPrint gave a small laugh, her ears pinning back briefly as she did so. "That's good to know. They definitely are, but I'm glad. Things can be a bit boring just sitting around, for the most part they're behaved though, FeatherKit is normally by my side. She's always been so shy," CloverPrint's smile remained on her face, though it had gotten a bit smaller at her last comment. "I can't wait until they become apprentices, I'm going to be so proud." The she cat took a deep breath in and her eyes lit up. "Enough about that though, how have you been holding up with work around the Clan? How's hunting been?"

[ Oooh I see what you're doing there Stormstrike!! xD ]
CHERRYWHISPER | Small Park | Stormstrike "Hey, I'm not complaining," Cherrywhisper said with a light laugh, catching the underlying warmth to his tone, "It's not often I can say I'm better than the deputy at something." If she didn't know any better, Stormstrike seemed to be enjoying himself; there was a light-hearted side to him after all. It was a nice change to the normally stern deputy, and Cherrywhisper found herself enjoying their little patrol more than she thought she would have. There was something about him that relaxed her. Maybe she was just in a good mood today, but she found herself being less shy around him, less insecure of her actions. It helped that she was good at hunting; she always felt in her element and more confident because of it. Cherrywhisper nodded at his comment, feeling bad for the poor creature having heard its cry of pain. But at least its death had quickly followed, and it didn't have to live the rest of its likely short life in pain. "Seems like we're tied," she mused with a smile, before her ears picked up the sounds of another animal nearby, likely another squirrel by the scent of it. Her eyes quickly scanned the area, before they lay on the creature nibbling at some nuts below a tree. Once more, she got into the familiar crouching position and crept quietly towards her prey, changing her direction of approach when she noticed which way the wind was blowing. When she felt she was close enough, she burst out from the bushes and leapt towards her prey. But this squirrel was fast, and fled towards the nearest tree. She was in hot pursuit though, and was just about to clamp her jaws down on its tail when one of her front feet met a small dip in the ground. Not expecting it, she tripped and tumbled, doing a half somersault and letting the squirrel get away in the process. Rather embarrassed at her mistake, she got to her paws once more and tested her front paw to make sure she hadn't injured it, before walking back over to Stormstrike once again, her eyes trained on the ground in front of her. Just when she was beginning to feel more confident in herself and more comfortable around him, that had to happen. She didn't say anything when she approached him, too embarrassed to say anything much. ( . )

Nettlefang listened quietly. He had always been a good listener - it made him a fast learner too. He had noticed that about Featherkit - the fact that she was shy. Sometimes it just took time for little ones to come out of their shell a bit. Becoming an apprentice should hopefully help her confidence. "I bet you'll be proud," he smiled warmly to her. Then, in response to her question, he gave a small shrug. The tom didn't usually do too much - he, like Featherkit, was a bit shy. So he did his chores and sat back. "Hunting has been going well, there are many squirrels and pigeons around this time of year," he replied with a small flick of his tail. Hunting was the most fun. For a few moments, a few times a day, Nettlefang had one task: to fly through the air and dig his claws into his prey target. It was a freeing sensation. "Are you looking forward to go back to your daily duties?" He asked with a sheepish shuffle of his paws. His stomach was growling again, and he was hungry.

Snowfeather in response to Eaglestrike. She knew that Cherrywhisper was his only kin left, and felt for him. Similarly, Doveheart was Snowfeather's only kin. Doveheart responded to the loss of their mother much easier than Snowfeather, who has the tendency to be rather hysteric. Sometimes afterwards she'd feel embarrassed by her actions, but she was such a rash she-cat that she never thought about the consequences until after. She was always full of hindsight. "It's never nice knowing family is hurt," she nodded again. She glanced up ahead as the fountain came into view and she quickened her pace so she could run up and jump onto the ledge in two swift motions. She bent and took a quick drink before lifting her head and gazing around. The area was clear of strays, but in the distance a twoleg was sat on a bench. Snowfeather didn't mind twolegs too much. She kept her distance as a precautionary, but didn't mind occasionally warming up to them is she knew they'd give her treats for it. While her sister never agreed with Snowfeather's decision to do this, she did it anyway. She was such a lousy hunter she felt discouraged from doing it, and twolegs were so easy to trick.
[ashfeather ] EAGLESTRIKE | The Fountain | Snowfeather
Eaglestrike nodded, his face serious at her comment. His mind wandered back to when her mother had passed away, and he recalled that she had been rather hysteric in her reaction. He knew that many of the other cats in the clan had judged her for that, but he certainly didn't. He knew the feeling all too well. When Fernpaw had died, his heart felt like it had been crushed, and he had felt exactly as she had reacted. The only difference was that he didn't show it - in fact, he had closed himself off to everyone all together. Even now, he kept others at a distance because he didn't want to have to feel that way again, and his overprotective attitude towards Cherrywhisper had also resulted from it.
As they approached the fountain, however, he pushed away his thoughts, his eyes scanning the area around them. In seeing there were no threats, however, just a docile twoleg sitting on a bench, he followed her towards the fountains edge, though at a slower pace. He jumped up beside her and dipped his head to drink, the cool water refreshing on a warm day. "I swear, this fountain is perfect on a hot day," he commented, lifting his head up once more.

Snowfeather couldn't agree more with the tom. Having a long coat meant that hot days could sometimes be excruciating. Surprisingly for such a pristine she-cat, on those days she didn't mind having a splash in the fountain to keep cool. It was an effective technique for stopping the heat from driving her mad. A splash in the water and a lay in the shade made the day go past quickly. "This fountain is perfect any day," she meowed with amusement as she flicked some water droplets from her whiskers. She wandered around the fountain, keeping her eyes peeled, but everything around seemed pleasant and calm. It was soothing to know that at that moment she had nothing to fear. She turned back to Eaglestrike, "I'll let you do the border marking," she meowed, "I think you'll smell much more threatening than me," she joked warmly.
Having not interacted too much with Eaglestrike, she found him to be a pleasant tom. Usually he seemed a bit approachable to her, but if she just started a conversation he wasn't rude, just a little quiet and she didn't mind that. As apposed to her usually big personality, his contrasting quiet personality was pleasant.

EAGLESTRIKE | The Fountain | Snowfeather
Eaglestrike smiled; she had a point there. Even on cooler days, he liked to journey down to the fountain, finding it quiet peaceful. Of course, border patrols also went there quite frequently, so it was an added bonus that it was such a nice location. Even the twolegs that wandered here seemed calmer, as those with children tended to stay away, with not enough there to entertain the young ones. He closed his eyes for a second and just enjoyed the calmness, the breeze cooling his wet muzzle. And then he snapped out of it; he was on patrol, after all.
Eaglestrike nodded at her, an amused smile on his face, but didn't say anything in response. He proceeded to renew the clan's scents around the fountain, and was happy that he couldn't detect any rogue's scents nearby. Clearly, there were no new cats in the area, and the rogues that had settled into the city were respecting their borders. Hopefully, the same would be true at the Big Park. When he was finished, he padded back up to Snowfeather. "Ready to head to the Big Park?"

With curious yellow eyes, Snowfeather watched Eaglestrike go about re-scenting the border by the fountain. She nodded her head as he finished and took one final gulp of water before she jumped down from the fountain edge and waited for Eaglestrike be ready. "I'm ready," she meowed with a firm nod of her head. She twitched the few droplets of water from her whiskers and muzzle before she started walking towards the Big Park. The park tended to be much busier and twolegs tended to be more of a threat. Dogs were rather common though they were usually attached to their twolegs by a long string. A surprising common threat were the geese that became aggressive if you got too close. Snowfeather looked to Eaglestrike as they walked and tried to conjure up another topic of conversation. She found this one on one patrol to be quite relaxing. "How do you think the Big Park will be?" She asked slowly, "I hope it isn't too busy," she added a little quicker. She swished her bushy tail just above the ground (she didn't want to get into debris in it, after all!) and she looked back ahead. Her eyes kept track of any potential threats.

[ ~CooperTheShipGod~ ] CloverPrint kept her ears perked at the tom, listening and nodding as he spoke. "Absolutely, I'll be happy to get back to things such as hunting!" The she cat said, with a happy tone. CloverPrint looked down at NettleFang's paws as he shuffled them. "I'm not keeping you from anything am I?" CloverPrint asked, a certain amount of uneasiness in her voice. Her whiskers twitched as she waited for his response, the she cat had never been the best at conversations like these but tried her best. Often times when she found out she'd kept some-cat from an important task, which wasn't too often now, she'd silently curse herself. But as all things, this too was beginning to change. (I'll be back online at around 5:00 PM Eastern Time, I have classes today. Have a good day!)

Darkpaw gulped. Chasing geese? Those things were twice his size, with sharp claw-like beaks! But then again, he knew he was seen as a strange cat with his mind in the clouds. He knew his Clanmates were more correct than heโd like to admit with that idea, but he would rather have them think otherwise- and this was his chance. Heโd prove he wasnโt a coward with a mind darker than his name. Besides, it wasnโt as dangerous as everything else Sedgepaw could have said, and he hoped that she was savvy enough to not lead the both of them to a gruesome fate. โSounds like a good idea,โ he stuttered, his tail between his legs. Even though he was trying, he still was not quite there.

Nettlefang shook his head, "Oh, you're not keeping me from anything," he reassured sheepishly. He felt a bit silly for making her think that, and he ducked his head for a few moments. "Just a bit hungry," he added. He couldn't help but feel amused at how silly he probably looked and sounded. For such a big and straight-forward looking tom, he was a rather sheepish and awkward. "Did you want to eat with me?" He offered, not wanting to push her away because his stomach was growling.

Sedgepaw grinned widely, her yellow eyes brimming with excitement. As soon as Darkpaw stammered that it was a good idea, she jumped up. "Well, let's go!" She squeaked. She looked up to make sure no one was around to watch them, then she ducked her head and looked back at Darkpaw, "Follow me - and keep quiet!" She turned tail and started to run. The she-cat bounded through the grass until her paws reached cement. The were closer to the thunderpaths now, and even though she was rash and playful she-cat, she knew that thunderpaths were dangerous. She looked back to Darkpaw and gave him a breathless grin, "It's so much fun when you just do whatever you want!" She meowed enthusiastically.

[ ashfeather ] EAGLESTRIKE | The Fountain | Snowfeather
Eaglestrike nodded at her comment to show that he had heard and that he too was ready, before he set off after her, quickening his pace slightly so that they were walking side by side. While they had ran into no trouble here at the Fountain, the Big Park was often a different story, mainly due to it being such a good location for hunting. Despite it being leaf-fall, they hadn't experienced any real prey shortages yet, but as leaf-bare approached, they had to make sure rogues knew not to hunt at the Big Park and steal what little prey remained. They would need every piece they could catch.
"I'm not too sure, in all honesty," the tom meowed back calmly, pausing for a second to collect his thoughts, "It does tend to be busier than the Fountain and hold more threats, but we should be okay. There hasn't been too much trouble there lately." In reality, despite the threat of rogues, twolegs posed a much bigger danger at the park, particularly when they brought along their dogs with them. Why they would want to keep dogs as pets, he didn't know, but at least they tended to restrain them most of the time.

CloverPrint's bright green eyes shifted over to the fresh-kill pile then back over to Nettlefang, she nodded her head. "Sure," She meowed, standing up and curling her long tail over her back, CloverPrint shook herself and glanced back over to the nursery to make sure FeatherKit and OpalKit were still in their nests. With a quick look up to SilverPelt she began to make her way over to where the prey was kept, double checking that NettleFang was following.

Jackdawstar felt a sense of equality between the two cats. He appreciated that this kittypet defied the usual kittypet odds of running away upon talking to a wild cat, and merely just had a conversation. Even spilling her personal stories about her brother and wanting to help him escape. Jackdawstar couldn't help but feel... a little flattered. Of course, in his clan he was always accepted, and outsiders tended to respect the clan cats unless they wanted to stir up trouble. But kittypets... usually kept a far distance. So, he enjoyed his conversation, and when Callie said that his offer meant so much to her, he felt shy. He felt like a kit, small and vulnerable, yet wanting to go and experience everything. His paws tingled with that feeling.
"Tomorrow then - we'll meet back up right here and I'll help you." He confirmed with a nod of his head and a flick of his tail. Tomorrow... back here with her.ย It was an exciting thought, and he looked forward to getting to know this she-cat better. His ears perked up when she started to shyly make her request and he listened intently. He couldn't help but feel that shy warmness underneath his pelt again, but he nodded his head. "I'll teach you everything I know!" He meowed, "It might take a while, because hunting and defending yourself takes a long while of training, but I'd be happy to help you." He added, and gently, he murmured, "It wouldn't be a hassle at all..." A thought sparked in his mind - if he returned to camp with a piece of freshkill, no one would question his disappearance for so long. Now was the perfect time to show her how a hunt usually went down, "I can give you a preview now, if you'd like? Can show you how I do it, and give you some tips too. There is a little spot not far from here where many pigeons tend to go," he suggested while nodded in with his head to that particular direction. For a moment, he wondered is Callie had ever thought of becoming a wild cat like her brother. He reminded himself he'd have to ask her that tomorrow.
[ . ] Callie was a talkative cat and often gave away too many details when talking to others. She rarely mentioned Oliver, however, so she was surprised when she found herself telling Jackdawstar about her brother. Not only that, but then agreeing to have him help her rescue her brother from the two legs that refused to let him out. Didn't they know that cats needed fresh air and most enjoyed being out and able to hunt and walk and talk? She knew a few fat and lazy kittypets that would much rather sleep in the two leg beds and eat the slop, but Callie didn't really interact with them often. "That sounds like a plan," Callie agreed with a smile. A plan? To meet back up with a wild cat like Jackdawstar? Hadn't she always been warned about that? Wild cats like him could eat a pampered kittypet like her. Yet, she was agreeing to meet up with him again and even have him help her with stuff. Either wild cats were smart enough to get their victims to trust them, or they weren't the savages she'd been taught they were. Then when Jackdawstar agreed to teacher her, she perked up. "Oh, that's so great. I know it'll take a while, but I'm still happy to try," she said. Plus, if Jackdawstar was agreeing to teach her, that meant he had no plans to ditch her anytime soon. The idea of seeing the tom more warmed her insides and she wasn't quite sure why. "A preview? Oh, that would be great," Callie purred. "I know a little about hunting, but not much. Like I sometimes catch something, but usually I don't." She liked to practice her hunting skills, but it wasn't her top priority so she wasn't as good at hunting as she could be. Maybe that was good because Jackdawstar would take longer to teach her and she'd get to see him again and again and again.

SNOWFEATHER | Border Patrol/Big Park | Eaglestrike Snowfeather walked along happily, her tail in the air, her paws rising and falling with rhythmic flow. Her head almost bopped along as if there was some pleasant music playing. But no, she was simply in a good mood - and it was showing. The relaxed atmosphere and the ease of the patrol so far was making her optimistic. She glanced to Eaglestrike at her side when he replied and she nodded - that was good news to hear. She didn't quite know what she'd do should they actually encounter trouble. She'd show her claws and show her fangs, but wave them around like a blind mouse.
"That's good news, I haven't been to the Big Park in a little while," she meowed. Which was true - she didn't tend to go there often. It was usually for those who knew more what they were doing, for those were keen to hunt, and for mentors and apprentices who were training and preparing. She wasn't really any of those things. As they walked, she started to get a bit distracted by their surroundings - and this was her issue. She felt at ease, and stopped having her protective walls put up.
NETTLEFANG | Camp | Cloverprint
Nettlefang nodded and padded over to the fresh kill pile. Seeing as he would be sharing - which he didn't mind sharing, but he would have preferred to scoff a whole pigeon alone - he looked for the most plump piece of prey. He used to paw to move a squirrel, a smaller pigeon, and bingo! There was a fat pigeon. He grabbed that one and turned back to Cloverprint, "This looksh good," he mumbled around the prey in his jaws, then he sat down with it and began plucking it's feathers. He tried to conjure another topic of conversation, but struggled somewhat. He was a awkward, and it was showing. "You can, uh, use the feathers for your nest," he offered.
JACKDAWSTAR | In the city | Cloverprint
A plan... Jackdawstar smiled shyly. What is happening to me?! He thought to himself, feeling his paws get tingly and his stomach fill with butterflies. He had never felt this way, but just looking at the she-cat made him feel giddy. He shook his pelt in the hopes of shaking that feeling. Whatever this was, he knew he shouldn't be feeling this way. No one else had done this to him, and he felt a little stupid for it. He'd come across many she-cats in his time, why was this different? It almost made him frustrated. "I think it'll be fun - and you'll be eating much better food than twoleg slop," he meowed - not that he'd ever tried 'twoleg slop'.
"I think it's an achievement that you can even catch something!" He was surprised because he couldn't recall a time he'd ever met a kittypet who was able to hunt. "Who taught you what you know now?" He asked, before adding a quick, "Follow me." He started heading the direction he pointed, and turned to make sure Callie was following him. He brushed his bushy, dark tail along the dusty ground as he walked.
He walked happily with a small smile on his face. But the reoccurring thought of his clan sometimes jolted him and reminded himself that soon he would have to leave. But for now... he was enjoying himself. So he'd shake off that personal reminder and keep on moving. Soon, the park in which he had mentioned came into view, and he turned to look at Callie. "What can you catch? Squirrels are fast and you have to be quick to follow them up trees. Pigeons are fat so they are slow, but they can get away quickly if they fly away so you have to try and stalk them, then jump up to catch them." He meowed. He had much knowledge of hunting as it was his strong suit. He tilted his head to the kittypet and closed his eyes with a warm smile, "Either way I'll teach you whatever you need to know."

Also just a quick apology, this is a bit short but it's really late over here and I'm tired.) CloverPrint smiled softly to NettleFang and nosed the feathers into a small pile, the she-cat sat down along with her Clan mate and laughed a bit. "Thank you." CloverPrint paused, "You don't have to be so nervous," she reassured, looking at NettleFang through eyes that were now slightly lit up because of the dark atmosphere.

EAGLESTRIKE | Big Park | Snowfeather Eaglestrike didn't mind Snowfeather's company as they made their way down to the park. Her happy-go-lucky sort of rhythm beside him lightened his own mood, and he found himself enjoying their little border patrol more than he'd thought he would. It surprised him in a way, having always thought of the she-cat as a little... too much for his liking. But the patrol was turning out to be quite relaxing, and his tail moved back and forth happily in the air as they went on. "Really?" he meowed, not judging but being simply surprised at her small revelation. He visited the park at least once every two days, if not for a border patrol than for a spot of hunting. Though, he supposed he had never really seen her around there that much. "How come you don't come down here often?" he asked, somewhat curious. After all, the Big Park was an important part of their territory and most of the Lostclan cats would regularly visit as such. ( aether)

Just when she was beginning to feel more confident in herself and more comfortable around him, that had to happen. She didn't say anything when she approached him, too embarrassed to say anything much. ( . ) Stormstrike rolled his eyes and huffed. "I may not be the best hunter in the clan, but I am one of the best fighters," he pointed out. "Plus, Jackdawstar must assume I'm a good enough warrior if he gave me the chance to be the deputy," he said. Again, his ambition was coming back at the thought of being leader one day. Of course, he'd still defend both Jackdawstar and the clan to death, but he'd appreciate the leader spot at some point in his life. Stormstrike nodded and watched as she found her next target. It looked like a decent squirrel. Big enough to feed a few younger cats and maybe even big enough to share between two older cats. He crouched as well as he watched her expertly stalk the prey. He was a decent hunter. He had to be. His mentor was large on hunting and never would've let young Stormpaw become a warrior if he wasn't an okay hunter. But Cherrywhisper was better and it was easy to see that hunting came a lot more naturally to her than it did to him. Stormstrike felt his heart skip a beat when he saw Cherrywhisper trip and tumble over the ground. He rushed over to meet her in the middle, his large blue eyes filled with concern. "Are you alright?" he asked. While he'd normally expect a warrior to be okay and keep going, he was worried Cherrywhisper wouldn't tell him if she was really injured. "I can go back to camp and get Littlepaw if you need," he offered.

Callie smiled a bit at his mention of the two leg slop. "Yeah, I'm sure anything freshly killed would taste much better than the fake fish tasting goo," she said, shuddering. She had had a real fish once in her life. She had traded a wild cat. His small and not so good looking fish in exchange for a full bowl of her slop. The fish tasted much better and even the wild cat knew he got the bad end of the deal. "Oh, that reminds me. If you or your clanmates ever need anything to eat, I'm totally willing to offer my slop. There's not a lot and it doesn't taste good, but it provides some nutrition at least," she offered. She didn't mind. Her two legs would just assume she had eaten it and she didn't mind skipping a meal or two. She got too much to eat anyway. "My mom's brother," she said with a laugh. "He was a wild cat and she wanted him to teach me and Oliver how to hunt." Of course, River had disappeared and Callie could only assume he'd either died or been picked up by some two legs. She almost hoped it wasn't the second, because she knew how much he would hate the lack of freedom he'd get from living with two legs. She took off Jackdawstar, doing her best to keep up with the larger and stronger tom. She nodded. "I've caught a few pigeons but I don't really know how. It was mostly luck that I jumped at the right time, I guess." She shrugged as she walked next to Jackdawstar, enjoying the nice day and his agreement to teach her what she needed to know. "I've caught a squirrel before, but it was already injured anyway." She didn't hunt sick animals, not wanting to get sick herself, but she had hunted injured ones before so she could put them out of their misery and because they were easier. aether

DarkpawSilently, with a worried glance in his eyes, he followed Sedgepaw. He was glad that running was his forte, although the fact that he did it so much worried him. He almost froze when he saw the thunderpaths- that was how his uncle died, as Pantherfang always told him. Darkpaw wondered for a brief second if Rookpaw was somehow there still, still bitter from his death- than he shook his head and stifled a laugh. Even for his cowardice, he knew how silly an idea as that was! He knew the elders told tories of a time that the living could walk with the dead, connecting through quartz and lakewater- but as far as Darkpaw knew those were myths, just like the lions and leopards he had been told of as a kit. At Sedgepaw's mention of how lack of authority was fun, he bit his tongue in an attempt not to argue- but he would never understand how she managed to actually have fun without some resemblance of routine and schedule. It was something that had always confused him about the other apprentices.

[ Quick reply before I go to work^^ ]
CHERRYWHISPER | Small Park | Stormstrike Cherrywhisper's eyes finally flickered up to meet his, somewhat surprised at the level of concern in his voice. Though she supposed he was deputy, so we had to care about the health and wellbeing of his clanmates. Her paw hurt slightly, but she could tell it was nothing serious thankfully. Seemed like it was only her pride that she'd hurt today. "No, no, I'm okay. Really," she said softly, grateful for his offer nonetheless. She scolded herself in her head for being so clumsy though - hunting was supposed to be what she was good at. And yet somehow, she had managed to make a massive fool of herself. "Looks like it's your turn," she said to change the subject, forcing a smile on her face. She didn't want him to worry about her - though it was somewhat of a nice feeling - and the only cure for her embarrassment right now was if she shook it off and succeeded on her next try. She couldn't have such bad luck twice in a row, right? What was that saying; lightning never strikes the same place twice? ( .)

Stormstrike's body relaxed when she said she was okay. He hadn't even realized how much he'd tensed up when she fell. But he took a second longer to scrutinize her, wanting to make sure the she-cat was telling the truth. He was sure she could handle herself, but she was still one of his warriors. When he was satisfied, he returned to their small pile of prey. "It is my turn, isn't it?" he asked, gladly following her lead when she changed the subject. He looked around until he spotted another rabbit. He ducked down and began stalking his target. When he finally found himself in a decent position, he leapt and found himself a bit too slow. The rabbit darted away and he chased after it. When it was clear he wasn't about to catch it, the large tom dipped his head in shame and returned to Cherrywhisper. ashfeather

NETTLEFANG | Camp | Cloverprint
Nettlefang glanced to the small pile of feathers gathering, then looked at his paws. He knew he didn't have to be nervous - she was only his clanmate. But he couldn't help himself. He had never been great at social interaction, and if he was in a group he could just sit back and stay quiet but when it was only him and Cloverprint, he couldn't sit back and stay quiet."I know," he meowed a little softly, feeling warm with embarrassment. He plucked some more feathers from the pigeon and pawed them towards her, "I'm just a nervous cat," he tried to say it lightly with amusement. "But I'm glad you're so nice," he added nicely. SNOWFEATHER | Big Park | Eaglestrike
At his surprise, Snowfeather tilted her head curiously. Then she smirked, "Of course! I don't like getting my pelt dirty," she swished her bushy tail from side to side, then laughed lightly. While that was actually a reason, it wasn't the whole reason. Yes, she prided herself on her clean coat, and having it be untidy made her feel a little anxious, but it was a bit more in depth. "Though mostly... I'm not the best hunter. And I'm not the best at taking care of myself if I run into trouble," she admitted - though it was hardly 'admitting' when it wasn't uncommon knowledge. "I get scared when I'm out here sometimes, there can be so many dangerous things and I don't want to get hurt." She added, a tad solemn now. "I need to work harder to improve though," she turned her gaze ahead, and it was somewhat hard to tell whether or not she was telling this to Eaglestrike or herself, "someday I might be caught alone and that day, if I don't try hard now, I could get hurt. But if I try and work a bit harder..." she trailed off and it was easier to assume something along of the lines of 'she won't be so scared'.
She shrugged her shoulders though and looked ahead. Everyone had issues, she was merely another in the crowd. "How are you at hunting?" She asked, wanting to change the topic of conversation from herself. She knew Eaglestrike was an efficient cat, he was always busy patrolling or hunting or something or rather. [ashfeather]
JACKDAWSTAR | The City | Callie
Jackdawstar couldn't help the relaxed feeling that filled his paws after he stepped onto grass. It was as if every single time he stepped onto cement tension grew in his body - and then... it was gone when he was back onto grass. Every time, he didn't even realise he was tense. So he was able to breath more easily in the park, and it showed in the brightness that appeared in his eyes. He listened with interested ears to Callie share her story of her uncle being a wild cat, and then listening to her talk about the kind of hunting she'd already done. He looked genuinely impressed when she mentioned the pigeons she'd caught.
"If I'm honest, there are cats in my clan who've been training all their lives and still can't catch a pigeon," he told her. It wasn't exactly the whole truth - most cats who had trained had caught pigeons, but struggled very much if they weren't attuned to it. "Well, there are some pigeons here," he nodded to a short distance away where pigeons pecked at the ground. Jackdawstar had always found the feathered animal interesting - interesting and stupid. "I'll show you how I do it," he meowed before he crouched down and crept to make sure he was downhill and out of sight from the pigeons. They could get frightened easily, but sometimes they kept their guards down.
Slowly, Jackdawstar moved with precision. His paws creeping slowly, they barely made a sound as they rested on the ground. Until finally he was close enough. His dark figure rested in a low crouch, his ears flat, his tail flicking every now and again. He was hidden behind a tree, then he was off. His tail streamed behind him as he shocked the pigeons. They took off to the air, but Jackdawstar had his yellow eyes set. He sprung upwards with all his strength on his hindlegs, and managed to swipe a pigeon out of it's balance. In those few moments, he had his jaws clamped on the pigeons wing tip. He brought it down with him and was swift to put it out of its misery.
Panting, Jackdawstar looked back to Callie and spat out some feathers. "I almost lost it - I needed to be closer, it almost flew away on me," he meowed breathlessly. He preferred hunting squirrels, but didn't mind the intensity of a pigeon catch. "I think in no time you'll be a master though," he added with a warm smile. [.]
SEDGEPAW | Big Park | Darkpaw
Now that they were away from the watchful gazes of their elders and seniors, Sedgepaw puffed out her chest with all the confidence in the world. It was immature of her, of course, to assume she was invincible when she was a mere apprentice. "Next stop... geese!" She meowed excitedly. She padded with her tail swishing high in the air and her head bouncing back and force without a care in the world. "Next time we come out we should invite Nightpaw. Amberpaw and Frostpaw too!" She squeaked, though it probably wouldn't last long because someone caught on that all the apprentices were gone and no one would doubt that it would have been Sedgepaw's doing. "It's faster if we go this way!" Sedgepaw glanced quickly before bounding across a thunderpath. It wasn't typically a busy one, but it was a thunderpath nonetheless. [@redheartofriverclan]

[ It's all good, I think everyone's been a bit busy lately^^ ]
CHERRYWHISPER | Small Park | Stormstrike Cherrywhisper was grateful when he let the subject go, glad to stop thinking about the embarrassing fall. She normally wasn't so clumsy, but of course the one time she had tripped up had to be in front of the clan's deputy. But she focused back on their hunting patrol; she could at least try and redeem herself by winning their little competition. She was determined to land her next kill, especially when she had been doing so well pre-fall. When the rabbit managed to get away from Stormstrike, she blinked at him sympathetically, "Next time," she said softly, always wanting to encourage her clanmates. She knew Stormstrike didn't think himself a brilliant hunter - and to be fair, he wasn't the best - but he also wasn't too bad. Now it was her turn. She stepped forward, touching the tip of her tail to his shoulder as he passed, before opening up her senses to the park around them. Prey was starting to run slightly shorter now, considering they had been hunting there for a while, but she still managed to detect a fat pigeon hiding in the shadows of a large oak tree. Before she even moved, she made sure to check the direction of the wind - it had changed slightly since they had arrived - before she circled her prey to get downwind. She was going to do this right, and she didn't want to chance losing more prey over a mistake as small as her direction of approach. Her stance was low, as always, and her tail hovered just above the ground so as to not disturb any fallen leaves. Her paws pressed delicately against the ground, placed deliberately in patches of land that lacked any covering leaves or sticks so that her approach was silent. When she felt she was close enough, she bunched up her hind legs. She paused for a second, taking a deep breath just to steel herself. She could do this. And then she leapt forward, claws outstretched. The pigeon, being on the larger sider, was too slow to escape, and she had delivered the killing bite within seconds. The smile on her face said it all as she trotted happily back to Stormstrike, holding the bird within her jaws. They had built up quite a pile now, and she knew that the clan would be fed well tonight - particularly if other hunting patrols had gone out during the day. In fact, their main problem now would be carrying it all back. ( .)
EAGLESTRIKE | Big Park | Snowfeather Eaglestrike looked over at her as she spoke, his ears pricked to both listen closely to what she was saying and keep an ear out for any nearby dangers as they talked. He didn't want their conversation to let their guard down. He smiled politely at her first reply, not all that surprised. She had always seemed so clean and well-kept in camp, so it wasn't a shock to learn it was because she avoided scuffles with rogues. His pelt, on the other hand, was often rather unkempt throughout the day until he got a chance to groom it at night. His sister often teased him on his appearance, but he knew that it was evidence that he had worked hard throughout the day. Not to say that Snowfeather didn't work hard just because she avoided a fight; it was always important for cats to recognise their weaknesses and work to their strengths. That way, they would be putting their best foot forward for the clan. The tom continued to watch her as she looked ahead once more, nodding every so often in the appropriate places. That made sense. He knew that if he felt insecure in his abilities to defend himself that he wouldn't want to be straying out alone either. He was more surprised to here that she wasn't the best at hunting with her form on the more slender side, but he supposed that was simply down to a lack of practise if she didn't enjoy venturing out on her own. That was how he kept his own skills sharp, after all. "Hunting is... not my strongest suit, but I'm not all that bad all the same. I think my real strength lies in battle." He paired his answer with a casual shrug, having come to terms with his strengths and weaknesses a while ago. He didn't mind that he wasn't as good a hunter because he knew he was a strong ally in battle, and it meant that he could accompany hunting patrols not to assist as a hunter, but to keep the others safe while they brought back prey for the clan. Many rogues tried to steal their prey from time to time, so it helped to have a more battle-ready cat in the midst. "If you'd like, we can train a little now after we check the border scents. I don't want you to feel unsafe in your own territory."
