thanks! i'm usually rather hesitant to discuss religious stuff on the internet because it seems to always end in a massive slapfight, but this thread seems pretty chill so far This forum has seen its fair share of slapfights (thanks, in part, to me, oops), but this thread alone has been very civil and accepting... things I would hope and expect a Christian thread to be. How are you? i'm good, how about you?

We can pray for you! I know what it's like to bounce around churches, it's pretty nerve-wracking. God will lead you to the one you need to go to and He'll calm your spirit c:

Even the computer is in on the conspiracy haha I appreciate that. My boyfriend is going with me but he actually liked the church we came from. So I feel bad about him going with me. But I got used and mistreated and I have horrible childhood memories of that place. Kids hated me. I wasnt wealthy or popular or cool like them. I lived in what everyone said was the hood which actually was incorrect. And Ive always had crippling anxiety and ocd. I wasnt like everyone else. So they picked on me. Took me to rooms in the church where no one was and beat me up. Guys there treated me like an object when I got older. Every corner I turned was a memory I wanted to forget tthere. I had to get out. But my bf never had bad experiences there so... But this new church is more like what I used to go to before the bad place. Traditional but accepting. Small and personal...

Small and personal... i guess so haha that church doesn't sound like a real church. Everyone should be welcoming and accepting. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Have you explained to him the reasons why you wanted to leave? I'm sure he would understand. If you ever need to talk about your anxiety and everything, we're always here! A lot of us have anxiety as well so we understand how it is. I guess just go for a few months and if you decide you like it, you could stay. If not, keep looking.

Aww hehe relationship goalssss
Yep. I don't have spd though. But yeah a lot of us struggle with anxiety. It's actually quite common, I believe, but a lot of people don't like to talk about it so it seems like less people have it.

^^' I'd like to think so. I think it still has a crazy stigma on it and Christians have told me before that I only have anxiety because of unconfessed sin and my depression is from being far from Him and my ocd is demonic. So. Yeah. Apparently hormonal imbalances and mental illnesses make me demonic?

:3
no it's definitely not that we're demonic. Our sin nature gives us imperfections, but even though we have things like anxiety, God comforts us and is with us every step of the way. I can't believe people would even say that :c

Same. It enrages me. Every single day of my life is a huge battle. Getting out of bed is nearly impossible. It's a struggle. People like you and I and the others who suffer from such things know it's no easy feat to get through your day.

Yeah it's really a struggle. I just have to keep remembering that I can't do it on my own and He helps me.
Even if you had it at one point, Shad, you at least know what it's like.

You definitely should. It'll never be 100% easy, but knowing that you're not alone and having Him carry the burden is refreshing and amazing.

Saw them live in Lexington and they were great. My favorites are "Run Wild." and "No Turning Back". That's awesome! I've seen them live a few times, they're always better every time! Run Wild is a favorite of mine as well. I really like Priceless, Fix My Eyes, Shoulders, Ceasefire....
