Also, I'm going to be writing up a study on Romans 1 in the days leading up to Thursday, so I'll have notes ready for discussion. But how appropriate that this would be the first thing my eyes wandered to...
Romans 1:8-12 "First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine."

we do our main moving tomorrow, so idk if i'll be able to make monthly movie monday. I mean, most of our stuff is in storage already, and we're moving in an apartment short-term so there's not that much stuff to move.
i mean i'd prefer if we could push it to next week, but if y'all want to go for it tomorrow night thats fine too!! does it have to be a religious movie?

Not necessarily, but it's gotta be something we can reasonably discuss from a religious standpoint, and it obviously can't be grossly inappropriate. Did you have something in mind?

Ooh yeah I like that, especially since Narnia is totally based off of Christianity. I wouldn't mind watching a few terrible movies and discussing them. That brings to mind God's Not Dead. I didn't think it was terrible (could have been thousands of times better, but it wasn't, like, bottom-of-the-heap awful IMO), but lots of people did and it would be interesting to have a discussion about it. Additionally, I just googled "terrible Christian movies" and got loads of results, so we've certainly got loads of material for this sort of thing. I like the idea of watching Captain America too. The good captain is definitely pretty Christian-y. "There's only one God, ma'am, and I'm pretty sure He doesn't dress like that."

Does anyone have ideas for how I can actually get these movies though, so that I can actually stream them
I'm kind of morally hesitant to pirate them, and I have zero idea how to do that anyway. I've got Netflix tho~
I'm also open to pretty much anybody else hosting them too, like @jester did for the last one, especially since I'm not 100% sure I'll make it to every one of them. So come to think of it this could pretty much be sort of an open-source thing, with whoever's available and able hosting it.

Maybe we should just do a mini Monthly Movie Monday (say that five times fast) tomorrow, since there's such short notice and Shadow and probably others will be gone and things are generally weird this week, and watch an episode of "The Bible" or something, since it's on Netflix. That way we can save Passion of the Christ and such for another time, since I really want that one in particular to be something we all are able to discuss.

Sounds good. Also, Tree, if a movie we want to watch isn't on Netflix, there's this awesome website called Niter that has a lot of films free to stream, and in high quality. If we can't find what we want there, Putlocker has pretty much everything.

Her cat of about 14 years is dying, and he'll be put to sleep on Tuesday (if he makes it till then). She is devastated. She just sent me a picture of her holding his paw in her hand. It's literally the saddest freaking thing ever, and I know how she feels because I've had to say goodbye to two of my own cats.

Losing a pet is always terrible

Thanks. Also. Is that the squirrel from Foodfight. Yes. After the little "bad movies" rabb.it stream that was on earlier, a bunch of people decided to change their avatars to things like this. You are the arctic, grandpa

Hi guys! Catholic here, great to see a place like this! ^-^ about stuff, I'd like to suggest Rem Collective and Manafest as great Christian bands- super happy to see VERIDIA already up there.
anywho, has anyone here read the Book of Ecclesiastes? it's probably my most beloved book in the Bible, it always soothes me in some strange way. (though that sounds weird in english, haha. in polish, its called "Księga Koheleta" so the Book of Koheleth. it means the same, of course, but still)

I haven't studied Ecclesiastes extensively. What's your favorite verse from it?

I love Ecclesiastes, just because of how different it is in theme to most of the rest of the Bible, and because it's almost nihilistic in nature.

Literally the first title you see if you search Ecclesiastes 1 is "Everything is Meaningless."
