Hi, guys! So, I've been doing alot of thinking lately and I'm really considering of just leaving the Catholic church. I already know about the "Defection from the Catholic Church by a Formal Act" form, but from what I looked up, that's apparently been abolished since 2009. According to my grandfather and a few other people, there isn't a process to leaving the church, you just do it (that's the closest way I can translate it, at least). Then again, my family isn't exactly very religious anyway and only a few of them attend mass every Sunday, even though they're all followers of God. So, I guess what I'm wondering is if any of you guys know if leaving the Catholic church is really that easy, or if I can even leave at all? you literally just leave it's not like scientology or something where you have to do it formally or like it's hard. in fact a lot of "catholics" probably aren't officially catholic and just dont know it/ dont want to admit it any time you commit a mortal sin, you lose communion with the church until you go to confession. so if you haven't been to reconciliation in a long time then you've been out of communion for awhile now. skipping mass on sundays without a sufficient excuse counts.

Read the Christmas essay the other day but forgot to reply. But I didn't know a lot of that stuff, oooh. o: My feelings on Christmas are still rather mixed (because, like I said, rumors and commercialism sadly), but thanks for sharing! It was an interesting read! I did know the history of Hanukkah though, at least, vaguely from a historical cartoon I used to watch. cx It does make sense they could be connected, I'll have to research it as well.

WOW guys i cant believe how many new people are here !!! WELCOME! it actually makes me really excited to see people asking questions!
Some prayers for me would be appreciated, if you guys could? I've not really been reading my Bible lately or communicating with God much, a lot of it because school has been keeping me on my toes and I've been so tired that I just wanna lay in bed when I get home. I've also been struggling a lot with my career choice and multiple other things.
Also, I do have a question for you guys. I have a few ideas for Christian fiction books I want to write and I wanted some opinions c:
Most of my ideas are kinda based off songs or things I personally struggle with but here's my four~
Idea #1: A kid (young teen) abandoned by his father after his mother died gets thrown into an orphanage. Got a lot of daddy issues, etc. One day after he's vandalizing property, runs into a church to hide, gets confronted by the pastor. This introduces him to faith and the rest of the story would be his journey to Christianity and discovering that he does have a father who loves him.
Idea #2: A teen's struggle through his senior year of school, his journey through finding faith but more on the side dealing with school bullying, kinda with a To Save a Life vibe.
Idea #3: REALLY vague idea with Christian undertones that aren't necessarily obvious in the story. There's a group of people different (superpowers kinda?) and it's basically them revolting against the government ("wordly sin/satan").
Idea #4: Just got this idea, but I want to write a story of struggling with lust. I originally just thought of using a male lead but I think maybe a female lead might be better cause not a lot of people know that girls struggle with lust just as much as guys. Anyway, the idea despite the gender of the lead would be the protagonist struggling with lust, mainly with symbolic beings for lust. For example, using a very beautiful woman who eventually turns into some sort of monster or something symbolizing it and other things like that. So very psychological i guess. I've become more open with my struggles against lust so I think this would be a good story to help others and also kinda write out my struggles as well.
sooo thoughts? Honest thoughts pwease xD and which is your fav?

I actually really like the last one. But I've seen the first one used in the movie, Do You Believe, certainly there are many other things that go along with it but that was one of the stories.

I like the first, though number 2 appeals to me because I simply loved To Save A Life.
Also speaking of prayers, would you guys mind praying for my family and my cousin (if you take prayer requests)? He died a week or so ago and we went to the funeral yesterday. I meant to ask before but it was just too tough to talk about it

What do you do? Unfortunately a horse is too expensive for me right now, but I'm glad I can at least afford lessons. I've been riding about 6-7 years, but most of it was saddle seat

I've done just about everything, from barrel racing to jumping. Currently not doing much haha oh nice! Yeah at least you can afford the lessons. I don't have a horse yet either. Future goals xD

Barrel racing looks fun but scary. I watched it at the state fair and i was surprised no one fell with some of the turns they made Oh yeah I'm definitely owning a horse or two in the future. Or maybe a horse and a miniature horse

I want to try it one day, but right now I'm focusing on jumping. I got a concussion over summer so I'm still trying to work up to where I was before that. It doesn't help that it's the end of September and too hot to jump. It's probably gonna be too hot on Saturday too I just can't wait to have my own horse. I work part time as a stable hand and that's still not enough horse time

I like the 4th one the best although the 3rd one is a close runner up (I would do research on revolutions before trying #3 though. A revolution is more complicated than most modern fiction makes it out to be) But nice ideas o3ob @convictions
