Guys I had a dream that there was this baby starfish that was going to do an asisted suicide because it was sick but Shad was like "no way, you can still live" so she took the starfish and was driving down the beach to a hospital for starfish but then people started chasing the car because how dare u kidnap a starfish. Also this famous dude that was once a friend turned into a foe and started rallying up the peoples to chase the car. Eventually there was like 100+ people who were trying to overtake the car. So then in order to shake them off Shad drew flags in the ground that said something snarky (I forget what ) and then they were all defeated and she became famous and got millions of followers.
The end

I wish I had dreams like that. I can never remember mine. I don't think I dream at all sometimes
Yikes! You're dealing with hurricane harvey, huh? I'll keep you in my prayers. Coincidentally, my town is currently being threatened by a wildfire, so my school was delayed by a week also. Not sure whether to celebrate or be terrified There are some tips online to remember dreams I think. Waking up w/o an alarm is one of them. You have a better chance at remembering if your brain doesn't focus in on the sound as you wake up. Yeah, Im fine and my house is in San Antonio (they didn't get hit too bad there anyways). Some of my friends though live in the city and their houses were completely under water so prayers for them especially u-u One of them told me that their parents were really chill about it though. Her mother called her during the night and was like "Hey we're on the roof cuz our house is under water" and she was like "what???" and her mom would say "the view is really pretty from up here" and she would be like "MOM." But yeah everyone is still okay as far as I know due to the rescue team and the evacuation squads. Oh no ;-; yeah those breaks due to the elements always elicit mixed feelings. Ill pray for you guys as well u-u

Not sure whether to celebrate or be terrified It's rare that remember dreams (even barely) so when I do wake up and remember anything from a dream, I immediately jot it down in the dream journal that I keep. That makes them easier for me to remember long term. Mm, yes, Hurricane Harvey. I live in the Houston suburbs so I was in the epicenter of the flooding, which was pretty scary. However, my neighborhood is up on a hill, so I was extremely fortunate and didn't experience any sort of flooding, although several places around us got several inches, maybe feet, of water in their houses. I know an area just 20 minuets away from my place had major flooding issues (2 feet+ in their houses) The flooding in my neighborhood was just a little bit worse than this, which was amazing Thankfully, several shelters and donation spots have been popping up all over the place... I have done a couple hours of volunteering to help sort the donations that people bring in. It's quite amazing how much our community is willing to give to those who've had to evacuate their homes. Wish we could donate some of this water to ya'll so you could douse those fires! Hope you'll be okay c:

Same They were serving icecream with marshmallows in it during my shift ICECREAM W MARSHMALLOWS
And there were so many peeps, the line to let in volunteers was easily as large as the evacuees line at the shelter I was at. Texas is a great state.

Texas is a great state. Luckyyyy! I just got popsicles We don't have evacuees at the place I volunteer at. It's just at our local church, so it's kinda small. The people that are rescued by boaters there are taken to the George R. Brown Convention Center or other larger shelters. We mostly collect donations an' stuff, but I've heard that it may become a command center for the other rescue and donation operations in our area, which is cool.

I'm so happy that Texas is handling Harvey so well. It's indubitably a horrific catastrophe, but y'all down south are really coming together and making the best of things.
On a personal note: I've been struggling with some personal issues recently. Mind praying for me, y'all? (I like that word. Y'all.)

That sounds pretty scary! I remember back in 2011 drought there was a huge wildfire near where we lived.. I think it may have even 'rained' ash once or twice...
Personally, I think that wildfires are a lot scarier than floods because your house can be damaged and burnt beyond repair while as flooded houses can oftentimes be salvaged and fixed up.
I'm glad to hear your okay though! I was up in Boise, Idaho to visit family earlier this month and the sky was super smokey.. I'm wondering if that may have been from the same wildfire?? Idk
Also, don't mind you asking at all! I'm LDS (aka Mormon)

Yeah no,,, fires are scarier than floods hands down xD Floods at least are in some ways predictable (you can get warnings or you see the water rising and can call for help) and if you can swim or have a boat then at least you have a small chance of making it. You can't survive fires the same way though.
Will pray u-u
I don't mind either o3o Im a Roman Rite Catholic.

Hmm... I don't think so. The fire's reached 125,000 acres, so it's pretty big, but we're on the west coast of Oregon, so it's pretty unlikely. And I have to agree with you on floods. We get minor flooding from time to time in the winter, but it's never more than a few inches to a foot, and that much is still pretty rare.
Really? Hello, fellow LDS c: *waves back* Hello! That sounds pretty widespread! I hope it doesn't get much bigger, Oregon is a pretty state and I'd hate to see its forests get burnt crisp :c

hey y'all could use prayers tonight every time i think im finally making friends and starting to have fun something happens and im right back to feeling lonely and left out
tonight was the first swing dance meetup and i was having fun but then one of the guys i had danced with told me that i "looked unfriendly and like i didnt want to be here" and he meant it in a nice way but it really hurt me. because my face hurt i was smiling so much and i was i was sitting relaxed yet for some reason i still looked unapproachable.
i spent half the time sitting out because nobody would ask me to dance. and im just so crushed because id been looking forward to this since i first applied. and my sister said she loved it and all the guys danced with her because apparently she was good. and my room mate had like four guys continually asking her to dance.
i dont know. i dont know what to do anymore. my family has always told me im friendly and super nice and "draw people in" but my experience so far has been the exact opposite. even my sister had more friends than me at this point and she's practically anti-social.
i'm just tired of being alone. i just want friends. they just don't seem to want me.

I'm glad you guys are okay and your houses weren't damaged. That sounds pretty scary, especially if it's happening to people you know ;-;
Not to diminish or downplay the severity of what you're going through, but all of this drama with the wildfire feels very similar. My house is safe, since we live by the beach, and my family was largely unaffected by the fire except for smoke inhalation. But many people who live in the surrounding hills had to be evacuated when the fire got really close for a few days. The whole sky was brownish-grey and it looked like twilight at 11 am - super eerie. Fortunately, there haven't been any injuries or lives lost, but a lot of people are still displaced and at least 7 homes that I know of burned to the ground. The firefighters are also exhausted. Obviously, Harvey is way more serious, since my town is no longer in imminent danger, but your prayers are still appreciated <3
do you mind me asking what denominations y'all are in? ovo
I feel you. I'm in California and it feels like we have a new fire here every week this summer. Harvey is way worse, though Nondenominational Protestant here.

Saint Ambrosef I'm sorry to hear that! I used to have the same problem when I would go to youth dances sponsored by our church. I used to be super shy, so I would go and sit in a corner throughput the entire thing and I was really miserable. I wanted to have fun, but I just didn't know how to 'get into it' ya' know? Eventually, I found that I had to be more assertive. If I wanted to go meet someone new, well then I had to muster up my courage and go start a conversation with them! I also started to ask guys if they wanted to dance instead of waiting for them to ask me. Whew, that was a lot to type on my phone.. Im not very good at giving advice but maybe that helped a tiny bit? Idk, it probably didnt help at all, but I will pray for you <3

The Kat's KitKat: that's the thing though, im not shy. im constantly putting myself out there, introducing myself, trying to strike up conversations. i guess im just not good at it or not interesting enough though because people never stick around for long afterwards, like they're just waiting to get escape from me
i don't understand how my room mate does it. we come from similar backgrounds (homeschooled, big family, etc) yet she already has a close friend group including several guys. she's very charming and i already really like her, she's awesome, so it's easy to see why. i just wish people saw me that way too.

U-U *pats Shad* Another hurricane?! *googles* that's just peachy I really hope it doesn't hit Texas Ikr But hey, at least Harvey didn't circle back to us as the first models said it would. That would have been disastrous. Also, I once knew a guy, who was so charismatic, that he didn't even have to talk to anyone or be social at all and everyone had a crush on him or wanted to be his friend. I think it was because he was legit the best student in our grade, a nationwide fencer, and rather dignified (and also a glasses boy) but he infuriated me so much. It's like... HOW. How. And in college he got a girlfriend just after two months. HOW. Some people just got it good. (meanwhile, peeps like us watch the masses from the shadows) But what Catacyst said u-u Sometimes it just takes awhile to settle in.

Prayers for an old friend of mine. She's feeling really cruddy right now and she's in a fragile state. Since way back in high school she's always mentioned that she's been wanting to kill herself, so I've worried about her... She mentioned it again today...
