Anyone here got particular sections of the Bible they'd recommend? Verses are fine, too. All of the gospels and the Psalms.

Verses are fine, too. it sorta depends on your past experience with scripture. if hardly any, the gospels as Jess suggested are always a wonderful place to start and build out from there (Luke's is my favorite). Acts of the Apostles and Wisdom are my other two go-tos.

I was reading from the beginning but found most of the old testament difficult to parse. Then I was jumping around reading different books. Some verses I liked: Job 2:10 paraphrased; Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? Ecclesiastes 2:17-3 just the start; So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. I will check out all the stuff you guys recommend, though I want the stuff that gets you through the hard times. Ecclesiastes is pretty bold: without God, everything is meaningless. Luckily, in Him, we have the opportunity and the blessing to receive the fullness of joy. Psalm 46 is a personal favorite of mine. Whenever I am feeling unsure or upset, I read it through and instantly feel comforted and grateful:

I didn't but I heard some other people constantly saying it and it sounded pretty good.

Hey everyone, please pray for me! I've gotten really sick and this is a reoccurring thing with me. I was diagnosed with IBS last year and it caused me to miss 2 full weeks of school. It's happening again but luckily we know what it is and I still have the medicine for it. So please pray that this is a fast recovery. Luckily I haven't started school yet and wont until the 5th of September.

(I mean, all of the Bible is good, so there's that as well.) I love how down-to-earth and sensible it is.

you haven't truly been a conservative on tumblr until you're called a cu*k by a random alt-righter for not being anti-semitic, then called a nazi a minute later by a radfem blog
