not actively but I am generally interested in learning languages
I’ve always kind of wanted to learn French but there are plenty of other languages I’d learn if they fit in my schedule

That's pretty cool.  Depending on what I can get away with, I just want to learn three others (other than English). But one of those on that list is just because it looks good on a application. |

I took German because
1. more of my close friends took German
2. my parents pushed it
3. I thought it would sound more impressive
(though half my class thought I was taking it because Jaggedtuft is German...)
and I’m taking Russian mostly because a big chunk of my Family History or whatever is Russian (plus my dad speaks some)

I'm taking German because
1. I have interest in seeing what the translation of some English books look like in German
2. A lot of my family history is German
3. I just got it stuck in my head that I wanted to learn it and I have this interesting habit of going through with large and elaborate plans.

My college offers Japanese, ASL, and Spanish, but nothing else. So I wanted to learn it. *shrugs* Ah well. It's getting interesting. |

And one word I miss-read, because I always mix it up.
And yeah, it's still good I know some words. I actually have gotten to the point that I've neglected the written form of German in favor of spoken. Which means I need to get back into written, I really do.
