In the original, it was Snipe and Gravel* (along with Lynn) who found Vice sheltering Tadpole. It was also implied Vice was not warned that the BloodClan cats would be coming. Tadpole attempted to hide after having been spotted. Lynn then led Gravel and Snipe after Vice, actively protecting Tadpole. I don't think that makes sense for Lynn.
*Gravel is intended to be the cat who threatened Tadpole, Moth, and Hawk (that he would turn them into collars) in the third Sasha manga, as well as the darker of the two bickering guards ThunderClan scares away in the second Ravenpaw manga. There is no canon indication they are the same cat, but the art styles are different enough, who's to say they can't be?

(I guess I should warn for minor, obvious spoilers) I don’t know if I (years ago) just wanted Lynn to look cool, if it was because she was the love interest, or what. Honestly, I kind of flip-flop between “make the major characters look interesting and unique” and “make the major characters as simple as possible to color.” I guess BG gives us one of each. In retrospect it might also have been to make up for the somewhat uninteresting collection of Willie’s kits alongside Tadpole (especially with Snowflake’s old design being solid white)—that’s a lot of grayscale. Lynn is very busy and very saturated.

Shockingly, page 22 roughly lines up with the original page 22. In the original, Tadpole is still hiding, then there's a "timeskip" box showing him catching a fish, and he narrates* that winter is over. He seems much less bothered by the recent turn of events in the original.
Also I still don't know what birds look like.
*The original was narrated by adult Tadpole. I quit the old one after rushing through to the point where he was the right age to be Narrator Tadpole. The idea was that he would narrate up to that point, and then the story would follow him from there.
