Well, that's an accomplishment, at least. p. 82  The last page of the skipped scene. A lot of it was changed, as will eventually be revealed on dA, but I felt like I should officially establish some of the things in this scene. Mostly that it's NOT simply "never mentioned again" that BloodClan routinely checks cats' nests...they actually don't do that. |

Mixed reactions to Tadpole's return.
I thought about having at least one more character die in the interim, but I didn't want to shove too many deaths offscreen. It was kind of important that the coup happen while Tadpole was in time-out, and Snapper was supposed to die that way originally.

I’ve been considering doing some kind of prequel, but the big thing here is Pounce is Willie’s brother. Back when the gang was new, at one point Willie blew up at Pounce over one of their schemes, and they got in a huge fight. Although they reconnected, Pounce was colder to Willie from then on, and didn’t really see him as a brother anymore.
Tess was supposed to say something about their many schemes back in the day; it would still make sense in context, but it would also become exposition at a time I didn’t want to exposit. |
