"My name is Aloje. It's a pleasure to meet you Rivi." As he spoke one could almost see the hint of a gentle smile. He opened a door leading into the castle interior. He walked briskly through the winding corridors and occasionally looked back to make sure Rivi was still behind him. They eventually reached their destination at the medic's room and he swung open the door.

Rivi's demeanor softened slightly as Alejo gave her a small smile. She nodded and followed as he led the way to the medic room.
Jax gave Attai a slightly goofy smile and ran a hand through his messy hair. "I'm Jax. Nice to meet ya," He said, still slightly in shock at the girl's beauty. Then he shook his head, trying to clear his mind, "So, what's yer grace?" He asked. He was from a different one of the seven kingdoms, where Gracelings were free to live their lives as they pleased.
(btw I imagine him having a bit of an Irish accent for some reason XD so that's why I'm typing like that lol)
Hava punched him lightly on the shoulder and smiled, her eyes glowing with happiness. She took pride in being a sort of "mom" to all the gracelings in the castle. Most of them hardly knew their parents, so they had made a sort of family of their own. "Well, what can I say. But yes I feel like we should reach out to him--" but then she was cut off, by Alejo, the very man they were talking about, bursting into the room, followed by a little girl. Hava rose to her feet, "What happened?" She asked, worry lacing her voice.

Vetiver raised an eyebrow as Alejo burst through the door, a child close behind him. He frowned, his demeanor turning more serious. It didn't exactly look like they were here to chat. "Hi, there. Can we help you?" He asked, standing up so he could get a better look at the little girl, who he'd never seen before. Well, earlier, he had caught a glimpse of some guards pulling a tiny figure into the castle. Maybe that had been her.

Alejo responded "Our king charged me with taking care of this girl and developing her grace." Any hints of kindness were now gone and he resumed his cold, business-like demeanor. "I had to acertain what she could do and it seems her grace has quite a bit of blowback. Her hands have been injured as a result." He gently grabbed her arm and showed her hands to them so they could see for themselves the extent of the damage.

Hava looked at Vetiver, her eyes filled with worry. The king had entrusted a young girl to Alejo's care?! She pitied the man, but the thought also scared her. She rushed forward and got down on her knees to inspect the young girl's hands. They were covered in blisters. "What's your name sweetheart?" Hava asked in a sweet, quiet voice.
Rivi felt like she could trust this woman, at least, much more than she had Alejo. "Rivi," She whispered. "My hands hurt."
Hava stroked the young girl's hair with one hand then stood up. "Vetiver, can you make a poultice for her? I can work on healing her blisters, but they will still need to be treated for a few days to avoid infection." She said as she got to work.

(here is the starter golem!)
Once the King had dismissed her from the courtroom, Queen Cassandra rushed back to her chambers. She had her own matters to deal with. She and her lady in waiting, Zani, had been working hard to come up with a plan to get Gracelings out of the castle. The queen had decided to help the youngest ones first, before they could be molded to fit the king's needs, and then focus on freeing the older ones who already had positions in the castle. She opened the door to her rooms quickly, then closed it softly behind her. "Zani?" She called quietly, to see if her lady was currently in the chambers.

"Aren't you a charmer." Vetiver muttered in Alejo's direction. He'd never seen the man as the babysitter type, but he didn't put it past the king to give him such a job. As Hava began the healing process on the little girl's wounds, Vetiver went to work at his desk, which was in a corner of the room so overgrown with plants and cluttered with amber vials that it practically looked like a witch's den. He made a poultice of herbs and roots, careful to add a correct amount of each ingredient. "So she uses fire?"

"Yes, she does." Alejo just stood in the doorway observing them as they worked. His king had entrusted the girl with him and he was determined to fulfill his king's expectations. He knew that Vetiver had loose lips and may have said something to negatively influence the girl if he was not there as well. He knew that they would begrudgingly behave if he was in the room.

Hava looked up at Alejo, making eye contact with him as she held one of Rivi's hands in her own, slowly healing the blisters. "You didn't get hurt as well did you?" The blonde asked, genuinely concerned. Alejo smelled of smoke, and she couldn't tell if that was just from being near the girl or from having been burned by her.

βYes mβlady?β Came the soft reply. Zani stuck her head up from behind the bed, where she had been dusting. She brushed a cobweb out of her hair, which she had messily pinned into her trademark style, and rose to her feet, giving a small curtesy. As a second though, she grabbed the duster, not wanting to lose it again. She was wearing a simple white tunic, now slightly grey with dust, and her feet were bare, but clean.

Vetiver nodded, going back to concentrating on his medicine. Fire was a powerful but hard-to-tame grace. In a way, it made sense that Alejo would be put in charge of helping her with her powers. He just wished the man wasn't so stoic. He finished the poultice and scooped it into a jar, before peering over at Hava to see how the healing process was going.

"No, I am unharmed. Admittedly, it was a bit close. If I had been hit I would have been in danger of dying." Alejo responded almost sounding impressed. However, he still wore a deadpan expression. "Of course it would have been a completely different situation had I been using my grace."

Cassandra walked over to her desk and sat down. "Do you have the reports on the young Gracelings in the castle?" She asked in her light voice as she took out some paper and got out her writing quill.
Hava gave him a light smile, "I'm glad you're alright then," And she went back to focusing on Rivi's hands. Finally, they seemed to have healed. They would still be painful, but for the most part, Hava had healed the little girl's hands. She put her hands on the Rivi's cheeks and smiled, "All finished! Now you be careful with your Grace from now on, alright little one?" She said softly, the motherly instincts in her wanting to cradle this poor child who was so clearly hurting, both on the outside, and inside. She gave her a little kiss on the forehead then sent her over to Vetiver to have her hands wrapped. Have stood up and walked over to Alejo, having to crane her neck to look him in the eye. "I'm not sure what exactly the king has you doing with her, but I am begging you to be gentle with her. She is young and clearly afraid. If you need any help with her I would be happy to volunteer..." She said, looking back at the small girl.

"Hi there, little one." Vetiver smiled at the little girl, sitting her down and taking one of her small hands. He began to wrap it, putting some of the poultice inside the bandages. "I can't use amazing healing abilities on your hands, but this will still help. It'll guard you from infection and help to soothe the pain a little bit." Once finished with one hand, he began on the other. "You can come here any time you want, even if you're not hurt. Hava's really nice, and I think she'd love seeing you."

Alejo calmly responded to Hava "I'll only be as strict as needed. Our king has entrusted me to raise this child right. After all she could one day she could be this kingdom's greatest asset." He looked over at Rivi. "Besides, she's most likely safer here than anywhere else." Alejo assumed that most gracelings had been raised in similar circumstances to him and that most parts of the kingdom were as fearful of them as the place he had been born in.

Rivi gave a small smile to the man who was wrapping her hands. "Thank you," She said quietly. Then lingering near him so she wouldn't have to leave. She liked it here.
Hava frowned slightly, concerned that her version of "as needed" and his might vary slightly. But she chose not to argue, "Very well. But if she needs a woman's touch, as every young child does, you know where to find me." She said with a nod. Then she reached out to touch his arm gently, "But please, don't push her too hard. She's so young..."

"You're welcome, Rivi." Vetiver responded, finishing her other hand. He gave her a gentle pat on the shoulder before reaching for a tiny vial on his desk, presenting it to Rivi. "I'm Vetiver, and here's a little welcoming gift for you. Put a drop of this under your pillow each night, and it'll help to sooth anxiety and give you a restful sleep." The little blend of essential oils was no magical potion, but Vetiver hoped it might help keep the nightmares away.

Alejo just nodded in order to stop her worrying. He was sure they would be going back to this room often. Rivi's grace was quite difficult to deal with after all. His eyes wandered about the room and he noticed the food laying about. "We should get going now. I'm sure that neither she nor I have had our meal yet."

Rivi took the bottle in her small, bandaged hands and held it up to the light so she could see through it. "Okay. I'll put it there," She said, and once again thanked him. "You're a nice man," She said, taking his hand in hers, and resting her head on his shoulder. She was tired. She hadn't gotten to sleep well in several days, and she missed her bed. (Here's a pic of Hava's general appearance! (although she would of course be wearing a much simpler gown)

Hava raised her eyebrows at that, "Oh! Would you like some of our food! I'm sure Vetiver wouldn't mind sharing. I just brought it from the kitchen, and we have much left over," She said, wanting to keep the girl with them as long as possible.

(( nice!! pretty spot on with how I imagined her ))
Vetiver smiled and squeezed her hand, big brother instincts kicking in. "You're nice, too. Hm, it seems like you could use some rest." He was sure it had been a long and terrible couple of days for her, and some sleep would help the healing process. Hearing his name, he looked over at Alejo and Hava. "Help yourself, but I think Rivi needs to rest once you're finished eating. Rivi, would you like some lunch?"

The small girl nodded, then walked over to the table where the food was, and she grabbed a small piece of bread and began eating it. She sat down on the ground and slowly finished the piece of bread, then curled up in a little ball, sleep taking over her body. She closed her eyes and her breathing slowed, and soon, she was asleep.
Hava watched with a soft smile on her face as the little girl made herself at home. She looked back at Alejo, "Oh, won't you let her stay, at least for another hour. And you may stay as well. We have room," She said as she gestured to the two chairs that accompanied the table, as well as the few beds that lined the wall.
