Tristan struggled to get himself out of Alejo's grip, but he was simply too heavy. And his arms and legs were pinned down, which prevented him from using his grace. As the demon pointed the tip of his tail at him, Tristan's eyes went wide, as he realized Alejo planned to kill him.

Hava stared back at him, too terrified to move. She simply begged Alejo to let Tristan go, as tears streamed down her face. "You don't have to do this! Please, just let him go. This isn't you!" She cried.
While Alejo's attention shifted to the growing crowd, Tristan managed to get one of his hands free, and he hit Alejo's arm in the inside of his elbow, causing it to collapse slightly and give up his other arm. He put his hands around his throat and began choking him as best he could from that angle.

Efos followed the crowd, watching with terrified eyes, scared to death for Tristan. As Hava attempted to break it up, she couldn't stop herself from running out. If her friend was going to risk everything to stop it, she would too. Besides, they needed Hava; they didn't need her. Without thinking, she placed herself on the middle of the fray. Pulling Tristan away, she put herself between them, her arms outstretched and her face full of fury and strength that came from her adrenaline. She stared Alejo down, her back to Tristan.

Alejo looked around as more people began to approach. He knew that they would attack him if he killed Tristan. He would probably be able to kill a few but knew that he would eventually be slain. He broke the guard's arms and spoke "Very well. I shall spare him. But not before he receives his punishment." His tail flicked forwards in a blur and a deep cut materialized on the guard's face.

When Efos tried to get in between he and Alejo, Tristan let go of his grip on the demon's neck to push her out of the way, not wanting anything to happen to her. Despite the things he had said earlier, he cared deeply for her. But when he let go, Alejo grabbed his hands and crushed them, then used his barbed tail to carve a deep gash from Tristan's left temple to his chin, making him cry out in pain. When Alejo finally let him go, Tristan collapsed on the ground, unable to stay awake from the pain.
Hava rushed forward to help him, her eyes filled with hatred for Alejo. She could never forgive him for this...She quickly began feeling Tristan's body to catalog his injuries.

Alejo just ignored Hava's look of hatred and started approaching the king. He pulled the blade out of his abdomen and it almost immediately healed. Any signs of wear from the battle had disappeared.

Annaliese followed after Stephen, after hearing the commotion. Her eyes widened as she watched them, not really sure why they were fighting. Annaliese covered her mouth in shock as she watched the battle between Tristan and Alejo. She also watched as Hava was gently thrown to the ground, Annaliese biting her lip anxiously. She knew she couldn't do anything to intervene, mainly just pray they don't end up killing each other.

Mirai nodded, her heart softening at the man's words. It was a sad world that they lived in. She offered a small smiled, and then she leaned her head against the stone wall of the indent cave. She felt a bit paranoid, but brushed it aside.

Kai remembered something he had heard rumor of in the town. Oh no! He stood quickly and helped Mirai up before taking off possibly dragging her behind him. "I forgot the king is supposedly having a feast to thank those that work at the castle. You aren't there now. He surely will notice." This gave him the extra reason to activate his grace even in the rain, he didn't care if he rusted as long as he got them out of here and fast.

When Alejo finally let Tristan go, the King stomped forward to confront him, his eyes filled with fire. "ALEJO! What the *insert a string of very unhappy words and insults* You are a disgrace to this castle. How could you almost kill one of your own guards? Are you mad?" He screamed. The commotion in the courtyard had attracted many more people from throughout the castle as the king's voice echoed off the castle walls.

Vetiver was so, so very bad with conflict. Because of that, he went back to the medic's room where he didn't have to see anyone fighting. Besides, he had a feeling he'd be getting some visitors soon anyway.
Alexander stood somewhere behind the King, watching the entertainment curiously. Though he found himself surprisingly hoping that nobody actually got seriously hurt. It wasn't every day he saw a fight this intense.

Luna ran forward towards her dad getting ready to stop him. "Father please calm down! Don't forget what happened last time!" She was referring to a near heartattack quite a while ago but it still was the very reason she worried about her dad when something like this happened no matter how much the king hated it.

Annaliese listened as the king yelled, quickly dashing back into the kitchen. She hated fights and yelling, mainly from a traumatic childhood. She grabbed the book, beginning to read it, her heart pounding. At least the feast had semi-worked, besides the fight. She sighed and put the book back down, walking towards the opening of the kitchen, looking back at the commotion after she calmed down. She was still wondering what they were even fighting about.

Valcory stood in the corner with her arms crossed. She was used to fights, and this one seemed petty enough she didn't want to get involved. She leaned against the wall, watching.

The king’s voice got quiet so only Alwjo could here. “You do not kill anyone in this castle without my permission. Such things are decisions of the king, not his guard.” He said coldly. Then he raised his voice so all could here. “Everyone! Return to your posts or quarters! And someone help this man to the infirmary.” He said with a wave at Tristan, who still lay on the ground. Then, he walked away.

Alejo looked at the King, sighed, and uncharacteristically talked back"I was hoping you wouldn't mind letting me get rid of him. Well, I suppose I should end the charade once and for all. Now's as good time as any." He looked over at Tristan "You just had to get all uppity. Oh well. I can still fulfill my ambitions anyways."

Valcory slipped out of the room, completely unnoticed. She shook her head at the thoughts that entered. What a crazy evening. She turned into the kitchen to talk with Sofia.

Annaliese bit her lip, slipping into the kitchen after Valcory. She was quite bored, wanting a little conversation, even though she was usually content with reading and cooking. Besides, she had never seen the girl, who was now chatting with Sofia. She smiled gently at the girl, leaning against the counter. "Hey there, have we met?" She honestly couldn't remember if they had talked before.

thanks bog! and Brindlebriar sorry I'll reply right now!) Tristan could hardly speak, or even walk. His head hung and blood oozed from multiple parts of his body. He leaned almost entirely on Stephen as they stumbled away. Hava rushed to Stephen and Tristan and helped brace his other side, "We need to get him to the medic room, now!" She said, her voice laced with panic and worry. If she didn't start healing him soon, he could still die from his injuries. The king narrowed his eyes at the words of his personal guard--his once favorite graceling. Alejo's words made no sense. "What charade? Alejo you are making no sense. I order you to return to your chambers now, and we will discuss this incident later once you have calmed down."

Attai laughed. "Your so on." She matched the wicked gleam in his eyes and turned away to fetch her horse. She silently hoped that her parents wouldn't catch her and call her in for the day. As she walked away towards her home, she slinked around the bushes, hiding from the eyes of those around. Her servants would call her name, and give her away if she let herself out in the open. "I cant even go to my own home without having to hide." She thought angrily. As she rounded the corner of her house, she made a mad dash for the stables. Once inside she found Her stallion, Spruce. "Hey they handsome.' She said soothingly to the horse, not wanting to spook it from sneaking in the barn. She ran her hand down the side of the horse on her way past, heading towards the little closet where she kept her saddles and lead ropes. As she quickly stepped in, she figured she would ride bareback. She grabbed the halter and a change of outfit. She put on her slacks and a rugged, slightly tight fitting t-shirt and her muck boots. She slid her hair up in a tight bun and grinned. It had been a long time since she had ridden, and the thought of riding with Jax made her heart soar. After she lead Spruce out, she jumped on his back, feeling his every move under her. She closed her eyes and breathed in the horses hot smell. He smelled of hay and oats. Her favorite. She gently pushed her heels into the side of the horse, giving him the okay to go on. As she cantered away, all she could think about was Jax. When Jax heard the sound of hoofbeats coming in his direction, he knew that it must be Attai returning. He stood and waved, whistling as she brought her stallion to a stop in front of him. "He's beautiful," He said, walking closer to pat the stallion on his shoulder. "What's his name?" He asked, as he pulled out another sugar cube to give to her horse.

Alejo grinned and pointed his sword at the King "I'm afraid I won't be able to follow that order. Instead I have something to say to you." He made no attempts to hide his outright arrogance. He was talking to the king as he would to his subordinates.
