So you will then. It isn't required. It's mostly just about how Dovewing starts to notice her powers are gone and all that melodrama. I disliked it because the book always seemed to be taking away something the Three had been born with and a bit of who they were. It's like my pet peeve of Spirit Wolf from Wolves of the Beyond. I wanted the ending and the prophecy (the prophecy (spoilers) being that all the wolves who were born 'broken' would be healed. Blind, deaf, etc.) to be exactly what Lone Wolf through Frost Wolf was - I thought - setting it up for. Because it showed that all these wolves were capable members that were strong as they were. And then Spirit Wolf comes around and all the wolves are 'healed' and I'm just sitting here thinking 'they spent their whole life being - for example - blind. And then, without asking what they want, you allow them to see. They are themselves as they were born and live like that. How is that making anything better?' So, Dovewing's Silence was just a lesser form of that pet peeve rearing its head. Another reason why many of my TPH rewrites always allow the Three to keep their powers. Okay, thanks! Yeah, that's a really annoying trope, especially where disabled characters are concerned because that is not a good message to send. The Three losing their powers made no sense to me because they didn't sacrifice the powers or whatever to win the battle, they just kinda... lost something that they'd been using their entire lives to create drama. Oh and also, I was playing with pixlr and this happened I mean, I've asked myself the question if I would want to live without my disability and it's come back a giant 'no' every time, so I suppose it's a bit of a personal pet peeve, whoops. @.@ I would have understood if their powers were a sacrifice to win the battle. It would have made more sense. But here we are. So, to make up for it, it gets to be used as fan fiction fodder. AND I LOVE IT!!!! I wonder if I should make a poll ...

Not whoops, that's a pretty good reason to dislike the trope. Tbh I was never quite got why the powers were needed for the battle in the first place. A sacrifice would've been annoying in some ways, but it would've tied the powers to the battle a bit better than what happened. And yes, the plus side of bad plot decisions is that there's endless ways to fix them in fic I'm glad you like it! I tried to get a Discworld kind of feel with the gothic font, don't know if that worked. That chapter though. Things are definitely getting dramatic o.o Not much time for the poor cats to recover from the battle.

To be exact who they wrapped that up always bugged me. TLH in general seemed rushed. Most 'end' books do. This one seemed way more final than the others and I just don't think that it was used as fully as it could have. In other books and series (Yellowfang's Secret and the New Prophecy) the powers that a cat had were for their whole life. It seems to me that, logically, if the Three kept their powers throughout their lives then it would fall under the same principle. That the powers had a strong purpose in the battle but weren't specifically meant for it. To rephrase: They could continue to be used to benefit the clans and themselves. Yeee! I like the font. Nope. One chaos to another. That's what's fun to explore.

Agreed. The first half of the book's okay, even if Jayfeather does all the important stuff. But the battle just seems to be cramming in as many fights as possible between different pairs of enemies. And then the Erins realised they hadn't killed enough cats to be realistic, so a bunch of characters ended up dying off screen >.< And yeah, I'm not sure losing the powers was intended, it seems like something that was just chucked in to give Dovewing's Silence a plot. Definitely! I'm guessing they're going to struggle dealing with another dead cat related crisis so soon after the last

One chaos to another. That's what's fun to explore. I agree! I guess there are a lot of plot faux paus in the warrior books. maybe because they have so many different authors working them. In this latest arc I really hated how they ended Purdy's life with a whimper. In New Blood I had to give the old guy a warrior's death. I also could not stand how a cat like Darktail could wreck so much havoc without anyone standing up to him. Had Phantomstrike wipe him off the face of the world in that scene with poor Furzepelt. Another change in that her life was saved. In the end everyone that did die in the books did die in that final battle at the end of NEW BLOOD, just to set things on a closer course. But finding so many areas in the books that made me scowl a bit, its why had had to change that course of history so now New Blood is really off on a different timeline, and SkyClan is the 5th Clan and tho i have not worked it out for future fics yet they get their place by the lake.
And gentleoak will never lose his powers or innate skills, nor will his younger sister. . .
That is what makes fan fics fun. "Fixing" things we think are wrong LOL

I actually agree on both of your posts. It's great to see how fan fictions 'fix' all those things. I also enjoy how fan fictions can fix what you see as a plot hole or unrealistic but they can also 'fix' a scene that you feel unworthy. Just, for example, you enjoy a plot of a book perfectly well but you want a little more closure or justice to a character that died. Or maybe you want a characters life to go a different way than it did. Another reason I enjoy fan fictions is you can doo that 'what-if' with a book even if you like the original but you just want to see something done differently.

yep, which is what I did with NEW BLOOD-bringing in those Maine Coons and shifting the life of the Clans forever. It makes Kin and family important, and binds the Clans together in times of trouble. They will always have their squabbles, but against an outside foe will always present a united front! And no more silly lies and secrets . I am always the one screaming at a character "OH for god's sake just tell them!" LOL But I sure did have fun writing the scenes where Phantomstrike eliminated Darktail and all that which came after. Bugged me no end when nobody stood up to him at all, and ShadowClan just caved. If he'd not died there he'd have died under Indiclaw's paws. She'd not have put up with all that stuff from him.

Agreed. Like with Where There Is Smoke - obviously I'm glad Firestar won in canon, but it was really interesting seeing what might've happened.

With a lot less sources to check and convenient plot summaries on the wiki cx But that sounds really cool! What periods do you want to write about?
*sends cake* I hope school's going okay for you!

Yeah, I know. XD But the period I want to write about - either WW2 or ancient history - are ones I've been researching.
Thank you! <3 It's going okay for now.

I guessed you would xD Tbh I wish that there was some cosmic wiki of everything that happened in history, it'd make school work a lot easier. And interesting! May I ask what parts of ancient history? Good

Then there'd be someone editing it so it said Thomas Jefferson was the 51st President of the United States and invented the Telephone. Hum. Something to do with the Greeks or the Romans, though lately I've been studying things to do with the Norse. I do so much research. X'D
New chapter should be up this week!

Probably :/ So many history books would be instantly ruined... Awesome! I'm starting some Greek and Roman history this year, although I only know the basics rn. And Norse history sounds really interesting from what I've heard. Research is fun x'D
Looking forward to it! c:

I love seeing the different reactions of the clan cats! (And they are definitely realistic c;) It must be a heart breaking situation, to have your loved ones back but not be able to trust how it happened
