3 more days before regular updates. Well, not 'regular' but I'll be able to post a WHOLE lot more since I'm doing this for NaNo.

Loving this so far! I see what you mean about Discworld - you cannot imagine my excitement when I saw those capital letters. And I have a weakness with anything that delves into the mythology of canon, so yeah, I'm really enjoying it. Fan?

I'm on the fifth chapter (If it wasn't clear, what's going to happen is I'm going to try and update this on Saturday with an edited Prologue and Chapter 1 and then so on and so forth. But I'm writing like a maniac for NaNo so in the end I'll be trying to finish this and edit it).
Anyway, the update on being on chapter 5 is that I'm loving that it isn't all plot right now and that I'm really planning some solid character interaction, wooh, wooh!
@saphhire
Ohhhhh yes. I love those capital letters. :3 There used to be a fic by Greebo that also featured the Death of Cats. To make sure I wasn't stealing the idea I just went back to the base and started writing a fic based around Discworld. As usual, this is a twisted story. Set after the Last Hope (as most of my fics were, way back when. TLH really left me fic materials. Mortality ended up a bit pre-Forgotten Warrior, but originally was post-The Last Hope) I plan to really delve into already established characters by throwing them into a situation where they never would expect. I also hope to focus on other, minor characters that you might not expect.
Being on chapter 5 and still using different POVs I'm starting to wonder if I should just do my original idea of 6 switching POVs (yeah I gotta a lot of mains. I swear there's a point) or whether I should honestly continue jumping from cat to cat each time. Like ... POV from everyone. I've never see anyone do that and it's a bit tempting.

When the capitals appear, you know stuff's about to get good :3 Hmm, Greebo seems to have been a really interesting author... And honestly, that sounds amazing! TLH leaves so much unresolved. I'm excited to see which characters o.o
POVs from everyone would be great tbh. There was one book I read which did a lot of jumping into minor characters' heads, but it mostly stuck with the two mains.

I saved her works and posted them in WCF memories. XD Phantomstar and a couple other people are to thank for what I got to keep. Without them none of it would have been saved. I'm just sad it was never saved. Heh heh heh. I've got PLANS.
I think I might do it, since there are some minor characters that I just want to get into the heads of.

That's on my tbr list, then I'm glad you guys were able to save as much as you did. Wish they could've archived the old forums, at least for a little while. Not sure whether to be excited or terrified... Yay! Can't wait to read it

Ah, that is a shame The problem with fanfics, I guess. Agreed xD Any new developments?

Yes. Very much a pity. We'd just reached the climax.
The newest development is mixing Birchfall, Dustpelt, and Brackenfur up. This has been fixed and a new subplot created because I'm evil and want some minor characters to stress out.

Not good... They are kind of similar, I guess And yes, stress out those minor characters!

Well, more of I - for some reason - couldn't remember who was mates with Ferncloud. Ah well. It got straightened out. And I forgot Mousewhisker was a DF trainee and not Thornclaw.
Done and done. I'm loving these characters. Developing some of the underdeveloped characters is the best.

That was... Dustpelt, right? Canon, why must you be so long and confusing?
Awesome! Yes, that's half the fun of canon fic! Exploring characters that don't get a chance in canon

Yeah, it was Dustpelt. I had to go back and change some names. Names were changed to protect the innocent.I ... absolutely love Brackenfur and that never happened in canon.

Protecting them from this dreadful case of mistaken identity
Awesome! Minor characters and their habit of doing that... Does this mean he's going to be important then?

Maybe later he might be important. Really, I'm just weaving the sense of clan and all the tension in each individual. As the plot thickens it will become a whole lot different. I might be close to finishing book one in this trilogy. It's a bit iffy. I need to hit NaNo a lot harder than I am, because it should probably end closer to 35k instead of 25k like usual.
I am really looking forward with trying to get interactions together. Side plots are vaguely present this time, much like they was one in Mortality, but I think this time I'll actually be able to do these plots better and keep up more than one.
And I thought I'd have time to edit the chapters but it looks like I will not. This has ended up longer than I expected.

Even if he isn't, it'll still be nice to see him c: Longer than expected is good, right? At least for the readers. I hope the editing doesn't take too long! And I'm glad the demon side plots are working!

As of today ...
*drumroll*
Book 1 of the Sky of Shattered Stars series is COMPLETED (now I need to come up with a name for book 2 ... ) New chapter + edited Prologue up tomorrow if I have any say.
In honor of Greebo's original story the names of the Banes (cat-ified Horsemen of the apocalypse) are actually getting their names turned back to the original version. So Soulcatcher is Death Illfur is Sickness Thinbone is Famine Bloodclaw is War (female, like in the Good Omens book vs. male as in the Discworld, once again true to Greebo's story) and Wickedheart for Chaos.
Other than that, I'll have to fix my first-to-third person shifts. >.< And fact check things against the wiki once or twice. And spelling. That's all the editing really is. I'm excited to share!

Ahhhh, it's here!
I love how you do Soulcatcher's voice! It really reminds me of Discworld. Is it spoilery to ask if the battle is the one from The Last Hope?

<3 Thank you so much! I hope to continue to keep that voice. And no! Not spoilery at all. This is, to be completely accurate, a rewrite of Dovewing's Silence. So, we are directly after the battle in the Last Hope.

So you will then. It isn't required. It's mostly just about how Dovewing starts to notice her powers are gone and all that melodrama. I disliked it because the book always seemed to be taking away something the Three had been born with and a bit of who they were. It's like my pet peeve of Spirit Wolf from Wolves of the Beyond. I wanted the ending and the prophecy (the prophecy (spoilers) being that all the wolves who were born 'broken' would be healed. Blind, deaf, etc.) to be exactly what Lone Wolf through Frost Wolf was - I thought - setting it up for. Because it showed that all these wolves were capable members that were strong as they were. And then Spirit Wolf comes around and all the wolves are 'healed' and I'm just sitting here thinking 'they spent their whole life being - for example - blind. And then, without asking what they want, you allow them to see. They are themselves as they were born and live like that. How is that making anything better?' So, Dovewing's Silence was just a lesser form of that pet peeve rearing its head. Another reason why many of my TPH rewrites always allow the Three to keep their powers.

Yeah, that's a really annoying trope, especially where disabled characters are concerned because that is not a good message to send. The Three losing their powers made no sense to me because they didn't sacrifice the powers or whatever to win the battle, they just kinda... lost something that they'd been using their entire lives to create drama. Oh and also, I was playing with pixlr and this happened
