>> Ooc << >> RP << Violetblossom stayed at the back of the patrol, Wait a moment is this a proxy patrol? Does he think I'm a proxy? She thought as she hesitantly followed the group of cats to the entrance. Should I tell him I'm not a Proxy? She asked herself, with her timid and nervous nature she wouldn't even be able to hurt a fly, prey is different everyone has to eat, which she was the only thing she was okay killing. She started to mew but was too scared to speak, as the words got stuck in her throat. "Umm." She practicly whispered, Come on Violetblossom you have to do better than that. She took a few deep breathes and she built up her non existent courage. "Eaglestrike?" She still had a quite voice but hoped the tom would hear her.

Adderstar "I'm the king. You can't just ignore my orders," growled Adderstar. Before him sat one of his least obedient proxies, Ebonyclaw. She sat with her weight on one hip, and her back legs outstretched comfortably. She should no hint at being perplexed by her scolding. In fact, Adderstar thought he saw a glint of humor in her icy eyes. "You might be king, but that doesn't mean you're never wrong. Besides, we've grown up together. Forgive me for being unable to reconcile the role of friend and subordinate," responded Ebonyclaw with an easy swish of her tail. Adderstar sighed, nodding in agreement as he watched a beam of sun slowly crawl toward the moss and feathers of his nest. The morning was growing late. His instincts told him to win the argument, to end the discussion with a firm reprimand. But she had a point. Besides, he disliked scolding his clanmates. "You've always been the best arguer in camp." He straightened his back, aching to stretch his legs. He needed to get out into the forest. Perhaps Skysong would go hunting with him. "If only you were as excellent a fighter," he added, tipping back his head slightly as he awaited the proxy's response. She let out a breathy laugh then stood. "Alright then, Adderstar. I'll see you around camp." He relaxed his muscles slightly as the black she-cat made for the den's entrance. But, before she disappeared into the morning gleam, she glanced back to add, "Sorry for calling you a dictator when you told me I had dawn patrol." He looked her up and down, from white toes to tufted black ears. Her expression seemed honest. He flicked his tail in recognition of her apology. "It's alright," he answered. As she left, he inhaled a long breath of air. Well, it could've been worse, he thought. She could've cursed the day I was born and robbed me of one of my six remaining lives. With that crisis averted, he decided it was time to leave the warm stuffiness of his den. Time to face the day, which was already off to an eventful start. It was a beautiful sight, the camp, as it always had been. Mature trees stooped over the clearing he called home. The sun streamed down, casting long shadows on the sandy forest floor. The sky was a chaotic amalgamation of fluffy white clouds and darker stormclouds. He expected there would be evening rain; it was common in greenleaf. None of the pickings in the fresh-kill were particularly appetizing, so he settled down in the sun to begin grooming his golden brown fur. He would eat on patrol later, if he could convince someone to go out with him.

Skysong was dreaming rather peacefully, racing through the woods of her beloved forest home with the sun warming her from behind. The birds were singing, warbling their spring songs for all to hear. As she approached a stream winding through woods, she slowed to an easy trot, approaching the bubbling brook. The stone-gray she-cat settled herself on a smooth, sun-warmed rock, watching the little silver fish dance about in the clear water. Her tail swished back and forth; her fur was warmed by the sun shining through the canopy, and the world was at peace. For a time, she relaxed; until something drew her rather abruptly out of her dream world. She grunted, head snapping up and swiveling to the side to glare at the massive form of her brother, who’d rolled to invade her nest. Ugh; what a way to be woken up.
Skysong shifted, shoving her brother away with her shoulder. “Wolfsong!” she grumbled, and her brother flicked an ear in response. “Wolfsong, move!” The tom didn’t respond, and instead hunkered down in the nest even more. “You hog!” she hissed, and finally succumbed. As much as she was fond of her brother, he had an irritating habit of kicking her out of her own nest. The silver-gray she-cat left the Proxy nest in a huff, tail swishing back and forth with an irritated air. Her stone-colored coat was puffed in frustration, blue-gray eyes narrowed. She blinked a few times against the glaring sun, studying the camp for a moment until a golden-brown gleam caught her eye. Adderstar. The tom was basking in the sun by the fresh-kill, lazily grooming his coat. She blinked another couple times, nervous excitement swimming through her stomach. She turned to smooth the ruffled fur on her shoulders down, ears flicking in Adderstar’s direction. She wasn’t sure if he’d seen her yet. She wondered what his plans for the day were.
As Baron (or was it baroness?) Skysong’s duty was to organize the day’s patrols and guard rotations, and make sure everyone was working together to benefit the Clan. Novices needed to be trained, herbs for the healer needed to be gathered, and the fresh-kill pile needed to be restocked. It was Skysong’s job to help Adderstar keep the Clan running smoothly. On light, nervous feet Skysong approached the High King, dipping her head in greeting. “Good morning, Adderstar,” she purred.

Popping her head back up from grooming she realized it was time to go. She gave a brisk not to the she-cat, "Of course," Sorrelpaw replied calmly. She rose to her paws and waited for Rainshimmer to lead the way. Now satiated and groomed, she felt that she had a whole day ahead of her that was opportunistic yet organized and that pleased her. "Peonystep seems to be doing well," she exclaimed, holding back on saying anything about her worry and guilty dismay at there being new kits in the Clan.

She paused and laughed bit before exiting the camp, once outside she padded a few fox length away from camp and smiled to Sorrelpaw who was right behind her, "So were can we find Juniper berries, Chamomile leaves, Marigold leaves and honey?" She looked at her apprentice with a delight and excited expression as she mewed.

On light, nervous feet Skysong approached the High King, dipping her head in greeting. “Good morning, Adderstar,” she purred. Adderstar set about cleaning the moss and feathers from his fur. He'd allowed Troutpaw to fix his nest the day before, as a way of making the young tom feel important. Unfortunately the novice wasn't exactly a master of bed making. Adderstar spent most of the night with twigs jabbing his ribs and downy feathers tickling his nose. But who was he to complain? When he was young he'd probably done the same to Heronstar ten times over. Now that he was older, he was beginning to reflect on all the mistakes he had made as a young tom. His mentor had put up with so much failure that he was surprised he'd been chosen to be baron at all. Of course when he was promoted, young and arrogant as he was, he believed it to be a result of his prowess. Now he realized it had more to do with the relationship he built with Heronstar. He missed the late king most acutely.
His thought was interrupted by the sight of an approaching shadow. His eyes bobbed up to find his own baroness, Skysong. A purr erupted in his throat upon seeing the she-cat.
"Good morning," she purred.
"Indeed," he replied. "Though I expect we'll be washed down the valley by twilight. Those clouds look awfully menacing." He gestured behind her, to the ballooning gray of the weather. Before she could sit down and make herself comfortable, he was on his paws. "Anyway, I was thinking it would be nice to stretch my legs. The guerriers get offended when I decide to organize my own hunting patrol. So we'll pretend it's a stroll and if a squirrel happens across the path, so be it."

The white and orange dappled apprentice followed closely alongside her mentor. She pondered the question for a few moments, "The Herb Hollow," she nodded to herself, "though I can't say I remember where it is," Sorrelpaw admitted. Without Rainshimmer she'd be lost and dumbfounded, her three moons of training just simply not being sufficient. Although she would like to say it all came so naturally to her and she had mastered the skills of healing, she had a long way to go before she would ever consider calling herself a true Healer. "Though I'm not sure we'd find any honey down at the hollow," she added.

Redwind purred happily to himself as he awoke in the den, thinking about his recently made mate Stormflight. Somehow he had managed to get close to the rather closed-off she-cat and he fell in love with her; something he never imagined to have again after Dappleshine who had passed nine moons ago. Now he had more kits on the way, and the happiness and pride swelled in his chest to know he'd be a father again. Thinking about new kits, he considered Rainpaw and Sorrelpaw who he had not yet talked to everything, and Redwind just wasn't quite sure how to bring it up, though he knew he had to have that conversation some time. "I'm sure they'll be happy for me. Well, Sorrelpaw will be happy for me. She's always been understanding," he thought, stretching from his nest and padding towards the nursery and poking his head in to see if Stormflight was awake, saying nothing as he didn't want to wake Peonystep if she was sleeping.

The slender queen had up until that point been lightly dozing, her ears twitching every so often as she listened to the world outside, content in the warmth of the nursery. The usually naturally skinny queen was beginning to swell with signs of the life she carried in her belly, and it wouldn't be long until they were brought into the world. The shecat was young, and it would be her first litter, and her nerves were beginning to show in how she acted, but she couldn't pretend to not be excited about the prospect of becoming a mother. Especially not with the tom she loved more than anything else in the world.
At the sound of pawsteps by the entrance, she lifted her head and twitched her ears. Ever a light sleeper, only worsened now she had something to protect even more precious to her then her clan. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the brightness, but she quickly recognised the nose peering through the leaves and let out a quiet purr. Lifting herself to her paws and approaching with a small smile.
"Good morning," she yawned stretching out, trying to shake the ache from her bones after having slept in for far too long.
