2018. Years after the Voldemort has been defeated, and life has returned to peaceful... Well, if you consider dealing with school peaceful, especially when it's a special kind of school like Hogwarts. As modern society seeps into the current generation attending Hogwarts, school life is quite similar to any other school, except for magic- Oh, and the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Making a return after Cedric's unfortunate death and the return of the Dark Lord in 1994, students older and younger alike are excited for the epic return. However, it'd be quite different this year- Both Beauxbatons and Durmstrang have decided not to attend, making it a Hogwarts exclusive tournament with one competitor from each house, including an amount of house points awarded to the winner of the cup. With the competition between the houses heating up more than ever, this is bound to be an extremely fun filled year. Lets the game begin!
~Form~ Name | Gender | 7th Year/17 years old | House Appearance - Personality - Relationships (Optional) - History (Optional) - Other
Alright, lemme go get some dinner and I'll write up Salem's form. Just lemme know which boys you'd like to rp as well, and I'll take the rest. Might as well have dedicated rpers for them
Lemme edit this lol Salem Dellaria || Female || 17/7th Year || Gryffindor Personality Salem looks like your typical snobby b. Thus, that's how she comes off to others: As a snobby b. However, they say not to judge a book by its cover, and for this one it's definitely true. Salem is a sarcastic, humorous individual, using her quick wit and sly tongue to seemingly snap comebacks at anything she sees fit, usually receiving bouts of laughter from her friends around her, although she tries not to laugh too much or it'll activate her laugh, which comes out a little snort that she absolutely hates. She loves to pull pranks and bring chaos to others around her, and is usually sneaky enough to not get caught, although the pranks have died down over the years as in her last year she promised to herself shed focus more on her studies. Underlying all this, however, is someone whose actually quite insecure about herself, maybe acting out in a way that lets her let out what she's keeping inside. With those who get to know her, she's actually quite warm and caring, although still rather mischievous, but she really does care for her friends. She's loyal to a fault to those important to her, and is usually the friend who sits in the background dealing with others problems but never speaking up herself. -- Appearance Standing at about 5'6", Salem has white skin that's on the paler side, matched with a medium sized chest and a average curvy body, her body kind of fit due to working it up while she plays as a Beater. She has a rounder looking face, plump natural lips that are either pulled into a thin line or a playful smirk, a small nose, and rounder eyes that she lays the mascara and eyeliner on to look more feminine and mature. Black eyelashes shade over bright forest green eyes, ones that usually dance with hidden amusement. She has a few uncommon features to her face, including a splash of freckles over the arch of her nose and two dimples in her cheeks that shows especially when she smirks and smiles. Her hair is long enough, reaching to about her upper back, and has been dyed by herself to stay a silver coloured, naturally falling in big waves around her shoulder and around her face, though she likes to do a lot of things with it. She usually wears her uniform pretty neatly, though her cloak is almost always sitting lower on her arms due to the fact it purposefully too big for her, and her tie is almost always done wrong because... Well... She simply can't tie a tie for her life. Oh, and, she loves the colour black.
-- Relationships N/A -- Family Ivory Dellaria (Twin sister, younger by a couple minutes, Quidditch Seeker and Co-Captain) -- History Growing up in the Dellaria household has been quite a trip for Salem. Her mother being the first pure blood in her family to get married to a muggle born, she doesn't know a lot of her extra family a lot. Just her, her mom, her dad, and her twin sister, Ivory. Growing up, she was what could be considered 'the ugly twin'. Plumpier than her sister and took longer to get through puberty, to which Ivory just seemed to skip, she often hides in the shadow of her sisters success in every area except school, to which she excels at better. But, in sports, dance, boys, you name is, Ivory was always the best. Favoured by her mother as Ivory was favoured by her father, the two sisters have a tough relationship that was rocky while growing up as they attended Hogwarts. As they went, Salem grew taller than her 5'3" sister, lost her weight and stopped looking like a child, becoming just as equally pretty as her sister, but she still feels she never got out of the shadow. She has no idea why she got put into Gryffindor instead of Slytherin, and even though she finds herself lost in her house, she uses it as an excuse to stay as far away from her sister as she can. -- Extras Salem is an unregistered animagi. What does that mean? That means, she can transform in a small black cat at will, both forms of her similar through their matching green eyes. However, this is also illegal, and she usually plans out her changing through hiding in the hallways and so on. She doesn't plan to register herself anytime soon and uses her identical cat, Nala, to hide her form sometimes. No one else knows the difference, except for her. She's the Gryffindor Seeker. She does photography on the side and takes her muggle camera to school, posting her photos up on the internet whenever she takes a trip back to Hogsemade (They have a cafe with wifi but not a lot of people know about it).

Yoongi Min | Male | 7th Year/17 years old | Slytherin Personality Cold. That's certainly one way to describe him. To anyone who isn't close to Yoongi, he appears to be closed off, guarded, like the type of guy you wouldn't want to run into in a dark alleyway, the type of guy who wouldn't blink twice at the thought of turning you into a beetle and stepping on you. In other words, he seems to be the perfect Slytherin stereotype. In reality, Yoongi wouldn't hurt fly. Not physically, anyway. Emotional and mental pain are still fair game, though he tends to hold back there as well, especially with people he doesn't know. He's not an a**hole, not really. Only to his friends. People who are close to him know that he is witty, funny, generally likable. People who are inseparable from him know that there's truth to the reputation he gets for being cold and withdrawn and some may even know the reasons why. Only Yoongi himself knows for sure what he's hiding beneath the surface, and he'd like to keep it that way.
Appearance Blood Sweat & Tears era Yoongi
Relationships Not much is known about Yoongi's family, he doesn't disclose much. But he does treat BTS like they're his family.
Other He's big on photography. Loves it to death. Also really loves music, will 100% geek out about music if anyone lets him. They're muggle hobbies, sure, but he doesn't see why that should stop him.

{ Starting in the great hall before the tournament is announced sounds good : ) and yaaaaayy connections I can see Yoongi asking RM and Jin for details on Salem later on down the road }
{ just as a warning, I may or may not make allusions towards other kpop idols that i love as we progress in the rp lmao think nothing of it it's just to gratify myself }

{When it's Christmas but instead of hanging out with your family your listening to BTS and writing rp sobs}
It was the same it was every year, albiet a bit different. Get on the train, sit with some friends. Get suffocated by the sister. Get off the train. Head into Hogwarts. And although every year Salem was just as annoyed and irritated, as it hit her that this would be the last year walking through the doors into her second home, following behind her two friends that were way peppier than her, she found herself already missing the nostalgic feeling of being a first year- Of course, that only lasted for a second, as she was forced to move on.
It didn't take her very long to place her trunk by her bed and say a quick hi to her roommates, although she'd never quite been good friends with them. She'd always felt kind of out of place in her house, an odd one out. It was a miracle she'd even become Seeker on the Quidditch team with how competitive some Gryffindors could be. She stopped in front of a mirror to fix her hair that was lazily tied into a ponytail, tried once again in vain to fix the tie around her neck, and then headed out downstairs to meet and chat some more with her friend before taking their separate seats at their tables.
Heading down the moving staircases and around the corner, it was easy to spot the small blonde even with how short she was. Wild blonde hair and warm brown button eyes, Eily was as cute a small bumble bee. As soon as she spotted Salem she waved, gesturing for her to approach them as the Gryffindor scurried on over, being met with a laugh from the shorter individual, "Again, Salem? It's been seven years, and you can't even get the knot right."
Looking down at her messy tie, Salem let out a small laugh that seemed almost sheepish, holding up the end of the tie, "Honestly I could care less, I gave up trying to tie this stupid thing halfway through second year. Besides, I thinks it's more of a signature look now," she sad casually, even if trying to get the tie properly frustrated her almost every time.
Eily just giggled and shook her head at her friend as the two began to walk towards the Great Hall, changing the subject as soon as they began to walk, "So, you've heard, right? The Tri-Wizard Tournament. Everyone's talking about it. Doesn't it sound so exciting?" Of course she'd be excited for it. Eily was a pretty peppy and friendly individual, but was a huge drama queen. She lived for events like the Tournament, while Salem? Well, she couldn't care much less.
"Oh yah, I just love a good old death competition when I'm trying not to die from things like exams and a social life."
"So I take it you're not entering?" Eily said after Salem finished her little sarcastic remark, earning a long look from the taller girl. She paused as she asked her that, her friend smiling at her with an expectant smile that was just as fake as it was playful.
She squiggled her nose as if trying to pass off the fact that she had outed her, "I never said I wouldn't, I love a good added stressor every once in a while." She replied sarcastically, raising a eyebrow as she tried to hide the sneaking smirk on her face.
Eily grinned with glee at her, eyes shining with a look of triumph, "Good, because you're going to be entering for the both of us. I could never do something that brutish." the small blonde announced, bouncing her head side to side as if innocently proud of her decision. Not fair. But, that was how it worked. And as much as Salem might find it a little irritating, she brushed off the feeling as the two moved on from the conversation. It was not long before they entered the Great Hall, said a quick good bye, and heading off to their opposite tables.
She didn't really talk to anyone as she took her seat at the Gryffindor table. A couple passing students asked her if she was excited for this years Quidditch Season, or if she was even interested in the Tournament. But never nothing more as she distracted herself with playing with the ever irritating tie, dark eyebrows furrowed together as she tried desperately to straighten the tie around her neck.
{Aha, I'm rusty. Just put in Suga and your boys and I'll throw in mine as well.}

{ actually me }
{ and ahhh it's all good i'm kinda rusty too, honestly }
On the train ride to Hogwarts castle, sitting among his friends, listening to them chatter and laugh, it had occurred to Yoongi that this was the last time he would be doing this with them. It was his last year.
Nice.
At the end of the school year, he'd graduate and next year, he'd be out in the wizarding world. Finally free. He'll finally get the chance to start piecing his life together (though Namjoon and Seokjin might chastise him and argue that he should already have a plan for what his life is going to be). No more annoying roommates, no more stupid classmates and classes and professors. He was ecstatic.
So when he dropped off his trunk in his room and Daehyun, the Slytherin Quidditch team's Seeker, let out a loud whoop! and tried to greet him, Yoongi just whipped around and walked right back out. He'd lost count of how many times he'd tried to swap Daehyun out for Jimin. Jimin was annoying sometimes, but Daehyun was loud and obnoxious all the time.
Jimin met him in the Slytherin common room, all smiles and quivering excitement as he started talking about the Tri-Wizard Tournament. "Man, I wish I could enter!" But he couldn't. He was only a 5th year. Sometimes, Yoongi thought he was even younger than that. "Are you going to enter? Please say yes. Do it for me!"
Yoongi blinked at him. The thought hadn't even crossed his mind. He smiled and shook his head. "I don't think so. Not my thing."
"Awww come on! Please? I don't think RM or Seokjin are going to do it. You're my last hope!"
They met Taehyung and Hoseok on the staircase, the Hufflepuffs' robes and ties immaculate. Yoongi looked down at his own hastily done tie and pushed up it slightly, adjusting his robes around himself, self-conscious. And then, as though they had planned this somehow with Jimin (Yoongi really wouldn't be surprised if they had), Hoseok mentioned the tournament and Taehyung followed up with a very pointed question.
"Are you entering, Yoongi? Please say you are. Give us someone to cheer for, please?" It had always been ridiculously difficult to ignore Taehyung's puppy dog eyes, but Yoongi did his best, shaking his head adamantly as he pushed past them, heading into the Great Hall.
A frustrated groan could be heard behind him as Hoseok threw in his own two cents, "At least one of us has to be in it! It has to be you, Yoongi, and you know it!"
He did know it. But the others didn't have to know that he did.
Jimin caught up with him after a while and Yoongi assumed that Taehyung and Hoseok had gone off to join their house at the Hufflepuff table. As they settled down into empty seats (unfortunately within ear range of Daehyun, who for some odd reason couldn't ever stop his incessant yelling), he couldn't help but wonder if he really should enter. Last time they did this, a kid had died. Was he willing to take a risk like that? In his graduating year, no less? In a year, I'm going to be free. Looking over at Jimin, who was scanning the crowd, no doubt looking for the other members of their friend group, Yoongi decided that if it really came down to it, he would enter. If that was what the younger boys really wanted.
Before that, however, he'd have to see if Namjoon and Seokjin would be entering. They qualified. And if they wanted to enter, that would give Yoongi a sufficient excuse not to enter himself.

{Man I was on this rp site for like the whole year that was just terrible and now rping things I actually want to rp it's like hARD ahhh but bts will carry me tbh LOL Might just take me a couple posts to get past insecurities and get into the swing of things} {Idea, how about Jin because he's so like momly friendly tries to make friends with Salem, and that's how attention it brought to her? Trying to fit her more into the equation ahhh, lemme know what you think?}
Namjoon and Seokjin entered the Great Hall together, although Namjoon seemed a little busy helping out some of the students, as pinned to his chest was one of the 'Prefect' pins. He'd always been a good leader, so it was less than surprising that the boy had been chosen for the position. Seokjin, on the other hand, searched around the Great Hall for the others boy, spotting Yoongi and Jimin first. The boy hurried over before heading over to his table, his signature pretty boy grin sitting on his face as he came up behind the two, "Hey guys, just wanted to come and wish you well before the food starts- Can you boys really not fix your ties properly?" he exclaimed, eyes furrowing as he looked at his own tie compared to theres.
A laugh came from behind them as Jungkook walked up behind the boys, blue and bronze tie sitting around his neck, "Leave 'em alone Seokjin, they obviously tried their best." he teased, although it seemed to be more pointed at Jimin as he fluffed up the other boys hair. Although Jungkook was much younger than them, he seemed to be almost as their age, in height, smarts, and maturity. If only he was old enough to enter the tournament, the boy would probably win with one hand tied behind his back- At least, not literally.
Seokjin shook his head before glancing back over at the Gryffindor table, where Namjoon was giving him a look that said 'You better get your ass over here asap' before smiling and waving at Yoongi and Jimin, "Duty calls~" he said with a grin, about to leave before Jungkook caught his arm, looking at all four of them.
"Before you leave, meet us in the hall after dinner. We all have to discuss this tournament in detail and pick who our sacrifice will be." He said with a cheeky little grin, glancing up at the Ravenclaw table before heading back over, Seokjin leaving with a grin as well. There was little time before eating before, so it was not like they could do much to do. Seokjin quickly joined the Gryffindor table, saving a seat beside him for Namjoon.
He looked up in front of him, surprised to see a girl, one who'd helped both him and Namjoon through Potions class. She'd changed throughout the years, and had grown a lot prettier, in Seokjin's opinion, but she was the same as Yoongi and Jimin- Always had a messy tie. She also seemed to be rather lonely, but had always been somewhat friendly when they asked her for help. Maybe she needed a friend? Better late than never, right?
----
It was only when Headmistress McGonagall called for attention that Salem looked up. The First Years were called in soon after, and sorted, but Salem paid little attention. She looked around at the other students, recognizing some Korean boys she didn't mind sitting near her. However, she didn't say hi- She just looked away.
Then, McGonagall opened her mouth and began to speak about the one topic everyone was waiting for her to speak about. But Salem didn't pay much attention, only picking up certain words, 'Blah blah blah tri-wizard touranment blah blah blah one from each house' it wasn't anything they hadn't read already. It was only halfway through the speech she heard it, a small 'Psst'.
It was quiet, but near by. Probably not directed at her, so she ignored it.
"... Psst."
She looked up at the second one, looking up with a confused expression as she laid eyes on one of the Korean boys who was smiling at her with a charming smile that might just sweep some girls off their feet. She raised an eyebrow at him and pointed at McGonagall, as if gesturing that she was talking, but he just shrugged. He then pointed to the spot in front of him, as if gesturing for her to move over after, Namjoon beside him trying to avoid the boy. What in the world was he doing?
It wasn't until the food appeared on the table that Seokjin attempted to make conversation with her, "So... Salem, that's your name, right?"
"Uh... I mean, I should hope so." she couldn't help but make a comment, trying hard not to let a smirk crawl across her face. He then tried once more, leaning forward a little bit for Salem to hear him better.
"So, you entering the tournament?" He asked with the same charming smile, as Namjoon began to look increasingly uncomfortable beside the happy boy.
It wasn't that Salem didn't want to talk to him. Well... Actually, she just didn't. She shrugged carefully and glanced away, "I guess you'll see if I get chosen or not." Not a yes, not a no... But it was kinda a yes.
It was then that Namjoon interjected, "Look, I apologize. Seokjin likes to put his nose where it doesn't belong. We won't bother you any longer." he said, before nudging the boy to leave Salem alone. It was... Weird, but if Salem was being honest, it was nice that someone tried to talk to her for once. She did have a terrible resting b**** face, but it wasn't that common that someone actually tried to talk to her. Plating some food, she began to eat, glancing up at the two boys every once and a while as if slightly curious.

{ BTS WILL CARRY YOU It's all good, my rping is a little awkward rn too aha } { That works for me ^-^ Makes sense. The other boys will at least know who she is when she gets called for the tournament then lol } { Also, true @jungkook being able to win with one arm tied behind his back }
The First Years getting sorted was only really interesting in, well, First Year. Yoongi paid little mind to what was going on, Jimin paid enough attention for the both of them anyway, yelling with the rest of the house in excitement whenever one of the skittish eleven year olds was declared to be a Slytherin. He probably wouldn't ever have to talk to any of them anyway.
He looked around the rest of the hall, eyes landing briefly on Jungkook amidst the cheering at the Ravenclaw table as a red-headed girl joined them. Cheeky little s***. "Pick our sacrifice," why is it so important to have one of us in the tournament anyway? Rolling his eyes, he moved on to the Gryffindor table. He didn't much care about how messy his tie-tying skills were, but Seokjin always managed to make him feel bad about it anyway. Something about Seokjin's disappointed looks always made Yoongi feel as though he had just failed his entire extended family.
He was about to move on again when he realized that Seokjin was talking to some girl that he'd never seen before. First Year? No. Can't be. Then why? They all knew that the elder boy was prone to making conversation with just about anyone, but Yoongi liked to think that he was aware of all the people that Seokjin regularly spoke to (He always made sure to introduce all of them, after all. Sometimes Yoongi wondered if he was secretly trying to replace one of them.) and he'd...yeah, nope. Never seen this girl before. Given the way Namjoon was looking at the pair, Yoongi assumed that she really was just a new recruit.
Whatever. They'd find out who she is in due time, if Seokjin thought she was so important.
Their first dinner of the school year went by quickly enough, filled with laughter and loud chatter and toasts to numerous unexplained hopes and deities. Yoongi joined them. He was hoping for a smooth year, too, after all, and food always managed to lift his spirits. He even managed to get in a good enough mood to accept a toast from Daehyun.
By the time dinner was over, Jimin was practically buzzing with renewed energy and Yoongi was feeling...ok. He was feeling good, almost like he'd be willing to enter the tournament of his own volition. He could probably even win.
As the Prefects went ahead and lead the First Years to their dorms, Jimin's hand curled around his wrist and tugged him over to the Hufflepuff table to intercept Taehyung and Hoseok before they could leave with their house.
"Meeting in the hall, guys! To discuss the tournament."
Right. They still had to talk about that.
The Great Hall emptied quickly and among the hordes of students, it was easy to slip away from the crowd of Slytherins rushing down to the dungeons. Tomorrow was a big day, after all, and most people would be hoping to get a good night's sleep before their nights were robbed by piles of homework and completely unnecessary amounts of stress.
Yoongi just hoped they could come to a consensus quickly.

{Ngl I spent all day boxing day shopping and then drinking good tmes} {DW FAM WE GOT THIS my new background on my phone is slytherin suga and whenever I see it I get hype for this rp ahhhh} {Yah trying to make things fit in and make it easier for us. ANd lets be honest... Jin would be the one to strike up the girls LOL} {Was that accurate ngl I'm more accurate with bts than I am with Salem sobs but also cheers}
Not much really happened after her strange little run in with the two Gryffindor boys. It was a little... Strange, not much like that really happened to her. Every once in a while she'd glance over at them, but the one who had spoken to her before was well into his food and the other seemed to be talking to some of the younger children down the table. So, of course, she changed her attention to the Slytherin table, finding herself watching a quite different scene.
There she was, of course, in all her glory. SHe wasn't surprised to see Ivory laughing it up with the Slytherin gang as she always was, especially the Quidditch team. Why Salem even paid her any attention, she'd never completely understand. Well... Partially. It was easy to be jealous of someone, especially someone who was supposed to be your twin sister and there for you in the times where you really struggled. That, however, was not the case with her and Ivory. Thus she returned back to her food, throwing away her thoughts for another day- Or another boring dinner at the Gryffindor table.
It wasn't until at the end of the dinner when Salem went to slide out from under the Gryffindor table that she found herself being stopped again by the same boy, who seemed tobe finished his feast and once again interested in talking to her. His arm was outstretched, having grabbed her gently before she left. But why? The other boy seemed to be gone this time, so there was no backing out this time. She raised a small eyebrow and narrowed her eyes a little, pushing a small but fake smile onto her face, "Can I help you?"
"You're going to help us out in Potions again this year, right?" Seokjin asked nicely. Ah, that's why. Made more sense to her now. Of course it kind of disappointed Salem that that's what he was looking for, but she brushed the feeling off, moving away from the grasp of the boy and tossing her ponytail out from over her shoulder, taking a quick glance down at her nails as if to show another sign of disinterest, turning her gaze back to the boy and shrugging.
"If we're in the same class, then sure, we'll see. Have a good night." she said with a small smile and a nod, heading out of the Great Hall quickly and quietly, almost as if to escape the situation. Her and Eily had agreed to meet up before class the next day, so she wasn't too worried. For now, she just wanted the sweet release of sleep.
~~~
It wasn't too long until the boys were all huddled in the hallway, in a small cubby that they had all agreed on was their meeting place since day one. It had gotten a little cramped since more people had joined, but it was still quite cozy and the boys were all good friends, so now one really cared much. Jin had taken up sitting on the left bench, while Jungkook had taken up a perched little seat near the window looking outside, glancing out every once in a while. Namjoon took a little longer to join them, but he too took a seat beside Jin. The other Gryffindor had already filled Namjoon in on his small encounter with the girl, and he had been given a talking to. But only a small one: Their perfect Potion marks were pretty much scored.
As soon as they had all arrived and gotten situated, Jungkook clapped his hands together. He looked excited, almost as if he was entering the tournament himself. He, of course, just wanted to live vicariously through whoever did. He leaned forward against his knees, looking around at each of the boys with an equally intense expression, a cheeky little grin on his face, "Alright, so whose entering?"
"Definitely not me. I rather not take the risk," Jin piped up easily, leaning forward and raising his eyebrows in both an equally serious and expressionful way. It should be clear to the other boys though that he was mostly talking about his face, plus he didn't really seem like one to take part in the affairs.
"I would, but I really rather focus on my prefect duties this year, it's already got me pretty whipped." Namjoon sighed, crossing his arms as he did so. It was then they turned their gaze towards Yoongi, the other boy old enough to enter the tournament, almost expectantly so. Even Jungkook, who may or may not be a little scared about pushing Yoongi into entering, looked at him with a both curious and expectant expression. None of them spoke for a little, before Jungkook took the effort to, even if he was the maknae of the group.
"What about it Yoongi? It's not even guaranteed you'll get chosen." Anything to persuade the black haired boy into dropping his name into the goblet, and it wasn't like he had anything else better to do, right? At least, thats how it looked to Jungkook.
School's starting again in a week i'm gonna do nothing for as long as I can } { Truuu out of all of them, it would be Jin } { pffff i'm more accurate with bts than i am with any of my ocs. all my ocs end up looking like they have split personality i can't ever focus with them }
Of course Seokjin wasn't going to enter because of his face. Yoongi fought the urge to reply with a scathing comment -- if he kept silent, would they all just forget that he was there and stop asking him to enter the freaking tournament? Namjoon wasn't entering, either. Of course. Prefect duties and all. There had never been any doubt that RM would be appointed Prefect in his seventh year, the boy was made for that job.
It wasn't a surprise when everyone's eyes suddenly turned on him and he was ready for them with the most bored, apathetic expression he could possibly conjure up. There was silence for a long time as someone worked up the courage to ask him once again if he would enter. For their sake. So they could live through his experience. He supposed he could understand that, but that didn't mean he didn't have apprehensions about the whole thing.
When Jungkook finally spoke, that seemed to open the door for Taehyung and Jimin to throw in their opinions as well. The maknaes always did seem to stick together in that respect.
"Yeah, Yoongi! What's there to lose, honestly? Either you get picked and you're a hero, or more likely you won't get picked at all."
"You know how many people want this opportunity, Yoongi. Don't tell me you didn't hear Daehyun and Jaebum crowing about it all night. I think I even overheard Jennie saying she would enter?"
"Come onnnnnnnn, please?" There were the puppy dog eyes again. Yoongi gave Taehyung his best "unimpressed" look, but the younger boy didn't seem like he'd be backing down any time soon. "You're our last hope!"
Hoseok was looking like he might interject as well, but a withering glare was enough to keep him quiet as Yoongi mulled over his options. They were right -- the chances of Yoongi getting picked were slim. Practically every seventh year had been talking about entering the tournament during dinner and even if half of them weren't actually going to go through with it, that still left a significant pool of people to pick from. He wouldn't get chosen. I won't be chosen.
What was the harm, then? He took one last look at the maknaes, all huddled on one side of the cubby space, watching him expectantly. He supposed it wouldn't hurt, to give them something to be excited about. Oh...how he wished Jungkook were old enough to enter.
"Fine." His voice was so quiet that he wasn't even sure he had spoken aloud, but Hoseok's cheer told him that he had. Almost immediately, Taehyung's and Jimin's faces lit up and Yoongi rolled his eyes, turning away as they celebrated their supposed victory. He stared at Seokjin and Namjoon for a few moments, hoping that the look in his eyes would convey to them how much he hated them for essentially forcing him into this. It wasn't their fault, Yoongi knew that, but he needed someone to blame.
Well...he blamed all of them.
"I'm going to bed." He announced, sliding off his seat and slipping out of the cubby, back into the hallway. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.
{ Should we do a little time skip? }
{As long as you're okay with it!~ I'm not picky } {Man that's like me, I wish. College starts back up and we had like a 5 week strike earlier this semester so everything has been cram cram cram. Been freaking terrible honestly.} {And maybe Jimin, but tbh he's a little roll deep down} {Right??? I honestly spend more time watching bts stuff then I do rping, so I guess it... Well you get what I'm say LOL} {Yah sure!~ We'll do the next day, or a couple days later to a class that both Yoongi and Salem are shoved into? We'll put Jin there too, to be that introduction}
The next few days were uneventful, and it was almost like just your usual school year. Salem woke up in the morning, got dressed, headed down for breakfast, then headed to class. She spent her free time either doing her studies with Eily, heading down to the forest to take some pictures safely around the edge, or she sat in the Great Hall, watching as students walked up and put their name in the Goblet. Half the time she wasn't even sure what she was doing, teasing herself? Waiting for a time to drop her own name in?
It was in the afternoon, and Salem was coming back from lunch, munching on a piece of toast she had grabbed the Great Hall. Next class was Potions, which she would probably say was her favourite class. Not that she really had a favourite class, most people hated school, but it was by far the easiest class she was in. Walking up to the classroom door, she glanced up from her bread with a half-lidded expression, but immediately stuffed the rest of the bread into her mouth and stood away from the group waiting outside the door at the site she saw.
The boy who bugged her on the first day, his name was... Something-jin? Well, Jin, was standing outside the room with some other 7th years, wearing the same wide grin on his face as he laughed at whatever they were talking about. As much as Salem had always helped him and his younger friend out with their papers, he had taken an interest in her this year that she wasn't quite sure she wanted to deal with right now, with having to deal with her annoying sister squawking in just about half her classes. So, very carefully, she raised her potions textbook near her face and stayed near the back of the group as they shuffled into the classroom.
She chose a table by the back of the room, expecting a couple others to join her, but not the other Gryffindors and his friends. She assumed he'd take a seat at the front, he looked like that type of person. She slowly dropped her potions textbook from in front of her face, pushing some loose silver strands from her half updo out of her face as she let out a small breath of relief. Unfortunately this only lasted for a second, as suddenly a loud 'Hi!' erupted from in front of her, causing her to look up in a mixed look of surprise and annoyance, forcing a pained smile. There he was, grinning the same stupid grin, "Uh... Hi, Jin?"
"Wow, I can't believe you remembered! Well, mostly remembered... But you remembered!" he said cheerfully, plopping down in the seat next to her and setting his textbook down with a small slap on the table, "Hope you don't mind us sitting with you?" It wasn't like he even gave her a choice.
She moved her gaze to the boy with was supposedly his friend, her eyes falling upon his Slytherin crest as her lips fell into a small frown, nose turning up ever so slightly as she looked back at her book, Great, a Slytherin. "Do whatever you'd like." she said coldly, not even taking a glance at the other boys face or even asking for his name. As of right now? She had no interest, she just wanted to get through this class.
{ a 5 week strike holy crap 0-0 damn...that sucks. m'sorry } { True true Jimin's such a cinnamon roll :') } { LOL ME me spending all my time watching random kpop group videos }
Yoongi had dumped his name in the Goblet the first chance he got. Morning after it was decided, he made straight for damn thing with a slip of paper in hand, dropping it in. There had been some whispers as he got back to the Slytherin table, but only a few people outright asked him about it. He didn't say much on the subject. He'd done what he said he would do. That's it.
Over the next couple of days, he watched as other kids went and dropped their names in. Sometimes they went alone, other times with friends egging them on. It gave him some comfort every time he saw a student clad in green and silver robes approach the Goblet. One more person in the pool of names meant one more person who might be picked instead of him.
In most of Yoongi's classes, he sat alone. Or tried very hard to. Seokjin was the only other person in his group of close friends that was in his seventh year and unfortunately, he didn't have every class with the older boy. So in all those classes without Seokjin, he did his best to hide in the back corner (or close to the back corner) and ignore everyone in sight. If he was lucky, no one bothered him. If he wasn't, some annoying kid would try to talk to him. In Charms, a Ravenclaw boy had come up to him saying that he recognized him, asked if he knew Daehyun. Yoongi had scowled so fiercely that the boy started apologizing profusely before running off.
Potions, however, was ok. Potions, he shared with Seokjin. He wouldn't have to deal with annoying strangers.
Or so he thought.
Seokjin opting to sit at a back table wasn't a problem. Not at all. The problem was who he wanted to sit with. Yoongi thought he recognized the girl from dinner the first night. Was she the one that Seokjin was talking to? It didn't matter. He didn't care who she was. But Seokjin was all smiles and cheerful attitude as he plopped himself down next to her, Yoongi reluctantly sitting down as well.
He wasn't going to speak to the girl until he caught the look that she gave him. Typical Gryffindor. Thinks she's better than the rest of us. He wasn't normally one for engaging in house conflicts, but if a Gryffindor wanted to play, he could play. "Quite the charmer, aren't you? Can't say I know what you see in her, Seokjin." That would make sense, right? Why else would the older boy be so interested in talking to a girl he'd never really talked to before, if not because he was interested? Yoongi rolled his eyes, fixing his gaze on the girl. "I suggest you learn how to control your face. Might end up offending someone you don't want offended."
{It was ****ty but I'm livin', excited to get the semester done and over with tbh} {I love how he is but then on interviews and stuff he's acts like the big boy but it's also so innocent ah} {SERIOUS bts try not to laugh and the crack videos kill me ngl, anything kpop is accurate} {YOONGI PLS MY HEART AH YOU'RE SO MEAN BUT SO CUTE}
Salem paused, looking up at the Slytherin boy with a narrowed expression, registering him in her brain for a couple moments as she kept her lips shut tight. He was Korean like the boy next to her, but he was, in a way... Cuter? Much cuter. But, unfortunately for him, his personality didn't seem to match his appearance. She was about to speak up, her brain scrambling around a mile a minute to come up with a witty remark to get back at him with, before Seokjin interjected with a sheepish grin, laughing awkwardly as he tried to defuse the tension, "There there, Yoongi. Salem's just a fellow housemate that's been helping me with my Potions mark since year one! She's even been giving some pointers to Namjoon. Right, Salem?" He then turned to the girl in question expectantly, waiting for her to even give Yoongi a little reason to think she was okay.
She had already returned to opening up her potions book, shrugging off the attention Seokjin was giving her, "Can't imagine potions without him huddling over my shoulder 99% of the time." she spouted sarcastically, not looking up as she flipped a page of her book. Sure, it was true, but Salem had always enjoyed helping out the two boys to some extent, even if it was just meeting up every once in a while or Seokjin approaching her in class. Still, it had never been this much interaction, and Salem wondered why in the world he even took more interest in her this year then most. Potions, yes, but could it be?... Ew. She'd gag if she wasn't in the presence of someone who could bite back in a split second, but her lips drew back into a straight line, fiddling with her cauldron as if to distract herself from that thought.
Jin, however, nodded in agreement with Salem, looking over at Yoongi as if hoping she had earned some of his acceptance. His grades were at stake here, for goodness sakes. He could just ask the other boy for some pointers, but with him entering the tournament, the two different houses, and different classes, he found catching Salem curled up in the corner of the common room on an off day was his best bet. She'd be there, hiding under a blanket with a small black cat on her lap. And then she was usually quite peaceful, however that was a different situation from now. Didn't she have a sister in another house? Which house was it again?... Ah, he'd remember it later.
It was then that the teacher entered the classroom and began to give the class instructions for their first potion of the year. While other tables were quietly chatty with excitement for the new year, their table remained silent as Seokjin listened to the teacher intensely as he could from the back of the room, finding himself irritated with the length they were away, and Salem had found herself distracted with a hair some of the hair on the teachers balded head. One would pop up, and he would flatten it, and then after a while another would pop up, and he would flatten it. A small smirk pulled at the corner of her lips, watching his frustration grow evermore as the hair resisted staying put. It was her humour for the day, and probably the most she'd get with the company at her table.
Thankfully, soon the teacher finished his lecture and returned to his desk, busying himself with a hand mirror he had brought with him to class. Salem snickered quietly to herself, getting to her feet as did the other students to walk to the front of the class and grab materials, before pausing. As much as Slytherins irritated Salem and Yoongi had given her a bad first impression, Salem wasn't evil. "I'll get enough for all of us, so just relax." And then she continued to the front.
As soon as she did so, Jin turned to Yoongi and slapped his hand down on his arm, "Listen, man. I know she seems like someone that's not worth being friends with, but she's really not that bad! Just maybe a little rough around the edges. Trust me." He said, flashing one of his Seokjin like grins at him and raising an eyebrow expectantly. And really? There was no saying no to him then, and it was almost as if Seokjin had planned it that way as Salem came scurrying back to the table, placing the ingredients in the middle before returning to her spot.
{ yeah true i can't wait for midyears to be over. i'm so done :') } { and then in MVs he's like...???????? like boi keep that shoulder to yourself thank you } { Yoongi being mean is really just me finding an outlet for all my meanness at this point like i've been away from people for about a week now i have no one to be mean to this is a lot but yes! cute!yoongi :') } { salem just wants him gone lmao } { swearing no bueno pas bien }
Yoongi raised an eyebrow at Seokjin when he explained that the girl had been helping him and Namjoon with Potions. If they needed help so bad, they could've just asked him? I guess it's easier to ask for help when you're in the same house? It didn't matter. Now he knew why Seokjin knew this girl.
He also found out that the girl had a sharp tongue to match her face. Yoongi nearly snorted at her comment, but caught it at the last second. He wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of knowing that she'd said something mildly amusing.
The teacher came in and said some stuff. Yoongi wasn't paying attention (did he ever?), but he could tell that Seokjin was trying to focus on the lecture, so he refrained from making side conversation and focused his attention on drawing squiggly lines on a spare piece of parchment. He didn't look up until he noticed movement out of the corners of his eyes and raised his head to see students heading up to the front of the classroom to gather materials. Before he could stand himself, however, the Gryffindor girl was on her feet and saying something about grabbing enough materials for all of them. Yoongi huffed in acknowledgement, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. What game is she playing?
Before he could think any more on the subject, Jin grabbed his arm, forcing Yoongi's attention to shift. He blinked a couple times at the elder's words, at that signature smile of his that invited no argument. "Uh...yeah, ok. I trust you." What else could he say? There wasn't one person in their friend group (or even in the world, probably) who could say no to Seokjin. Mostly because they all knew Jin wouldn't hesitate to kick their a**.
Salem was back with the ingredients and Yoongi took a quick look at the spread. Caterpillars, leeches, wormwood...are those shrivelfigs? "Are we making Shrinking Solution?" He reached for his cauldron, pulling it a little closer to his seat. He could do that. He kind of remembers reading the recipe for it last year, remembers wondering if he'd ever have any practical use for it. Yeah, if I ever want to make someone small enough to crush between my fingers. But then, I could also just turn them into a lizard. Which is easier?
{Are you in highschool or college? Because hs is roughhhh} {RIGHT ugh how does one be so innocent but so aHH i don't even understand him. When I was picking my bias he was my fav for a quick minute but like... Yoongi LOL} {I'm actually dead LOL I totally get what you're saying, do whatever you want tbh I love it, mean characters give me lyfe} {LMFAO she ain't about some dude giving her crap for no reason. I can imagine them at the beginning will be them making snarky comments at each other tbh} {i just wanna livE MY LIFE}
Salem glanced up at Yoongi once more, raising a dark eyebrow at him. He obviously hadn't been paying attention, but it was impressive he could tell what the potion was by the ingredients placed on the table. Of course, she wouldn't give him the equal satisfaction of knowing she thought that, "Lucky guess. I mean, you wouldn't have to guess if you were actually paying attention," Salem commented casually, grabbing two Shrivelfigs and beginning to peel them carefully to drop the juice into her cauldron, a small sly smirk sitting on her lips as she shot a small glance in his direction. In reality, however, she herself couldn't blame him for not paying attention. She hadn't really been paying attention herself, but just enough to know what the teacher wanted them to do.
Seokjin glanced over at Yoongi as if checking to make sure he wasn't upset by what she said, which would probably what he'd be doing half of the time, before grabbing two Shrivelfigs himself and the knife. However, his peeling skills were less than adequate, which caught Salem's attention immediately. She tried to look back at her own cauldron as she slowly began to stir in the Shrivelfig juice, but after a couple moments let the spoon fall to the side, sighing, "Bloody hell, Jin. You're going to stab yourself if you keep holding the knife like that." she scolded, showing him to holding the knife and peel the fruit correctly.
Seokjin followed her, albeit a little less correctly, but successful as he managed to put the juice into his pot. He looked quite proud of himself as he grinned over at Salem, "Where would I be without you?" he asked, increasing the heat on his potion as Salem had already done. The Gryffindor girl had already began to chop some daisy roots carefully, pushing a loose strand of silver hair out of her face as she shrugged.
"Probably a little less smart and a lot more cut up." She quipped quietly, chopping up another one of the roots. It was then that Seokjin spoke up once more, but this time looked over at Yoongi, wiggling an eyebrow at him in a silly manner(well, at least trying, it kinda looked more like a face wiggle) before turning back to the girl. It seemed like he was trying to make the two friends, or at least, friendlier than they were now.
"Did you know Yoongi here entered his name into the Cup?"
"Oh, did he now?" Salem asked, almost if echoing Seokjin's statement, raising her cutting board near the edge of the cauldron and pushing the chopped parts in, looking up at Yoongi as she did so with a small sickly sweet smile that breathed of false interest, her eyebrow raised in a taunting matter as if wanting to hear the story behind why. He didn't really seem like someone who'd enter a death game. Kind of quiet, like her. Maybe because she'd never seen him before? Who knows.
