introductionHello and welcome to the one and only Oceanclan. This is a claim-a-cat roleplay, where you may claim up to four cats. This is meant to be a fun and enjoy-full roleplay, where everyone can roleplay as they please. But please keep in mind, there is a plot that will be in play until it's over and done with. Please read over the plot before joining, as well as read over the rules. That way this roleplay will run as smoothly as possible and none of us will get kicked out! Have fun!
Rules
i. forum rules. they apply here, and just about everywhere. please follow them. It's not hard. It will keep this roleplay from getting deleted. It'll also make everything run as smooth as possible, and we want that, don't we? ii. activity. it isn't a MAJOR requirement here, as i am not the most active bean, but i really do try to be. I want everyone on at least once, maybe even twice a week; not just to pop in and say hi, but to actually post a response here and there. But sometimes, if no one has a cat open, I will offer you to just pop in and chat with us whenever. Yknow what i mean? iii. literacy. this is a literate clan; grammar is expected to be almost precise. Why? So we can read what you're saying. I understand grammar mess ups, but don't make it often. As there are little red lines that are under misspelled words. Simply read replies before you send them. This leads me to my next point; please, for the love of starclan, do NOT post one-liners. You are required to post at least three or more sentences, even paragraphs if you would like. The only exception? Low muse. But do not try to get away with that excuse every time. iv. cats & equal genders. There are an even gender of cats in this clan. This leads me to saying, you are only allowed to claim 4 cats, two males and two females. The least? 2. You must have at least one tom and one shecat that you are roleplaying. This will keep everything even, and equal. v. LGBTQ+ Characters. Currently, every cat has a sexuality and relationship listed (please check the "relations" post) and they are more than welcomed within this roleplay. But I am offering you the choice to change their sexuality. So, feel free. (because some people might be uncomfortable roleplaying gay cats, but oh well). But this does meann DO NOT DISRESPECT ANY LGBTQ+ CATS. vi. high positions. okay, here is the deal. You are more than welcome to ask for the Leader, but i will most likely not give her character away until after, when i find someone who i can rely on. With the plot, she will be a major character, but she will be killed off soon. (please read the plot!) So, ask for it, but it will not be given right away. vii. bullying+spamming. These two things are never tolerated. Bullying will be reported (only if it is OOC) and spamming is only allowed if you are calling someone to a different thread. Please do not abuse that rule, though, as if you do it too many times, I will report you. If you have done it more than five times, just like a persons post. Spamming is also for members of this thread; do not advertise, as it is spamming. Do not spam any ones likes, unless they give permission to do so. It's annoying. And do not over excessively tag them. I'm sure they got the first notification. viii. plots and side plots. plots are to be discussed with me, and only me. That is only if it is a plot you think might be interesting for the clan. If there is a plot going on, and you want to be a part of it, please ask. If you want to add minor plots, feel free to do so. But please ask. If it is small, and wont effect the whole clan, no need to ask. But if it's something such as a fox attack, or plague, please confront me first before doing so. But please, also stick to any MAJOR plots that may be going around at the moment. ix. password. when you claim you cats please add "ocean gibbous" to your post so i know that you've read the rules. x. The Strike System. The Strike System will basically help me give out warnings, and such. Everyone is given three checks (✓), and if all three checks are turned to “X”’s (✘) then that person will be asked to leave. warnings may include; Activity, Not proper post length, Bullying, Spamming, incorrect grammar (only when it’s become every post that you’re spelling a majority of the words wrong, but I don’t think we’ll have a problem with this), not following rules, etc. xi. have fun. this rule is as simple as it gets! Make this a fun, and enjoy-full place to roleplay! Include everyone!
xii. moderators. Mod's are here to help me keep this roleplay flowing smoothly. They are here to help you as well to be kept from getting kicked out. We have three, and they were chosen for a reason, and please respect them (respect everyone on here, for that matter). These three people will be in charge when I am unable to get on. This means that if you violate the rules or you are a candidate for getting a strike, they will inform me. If anyone of the mods abuses said "powers" PM me immediately and it will be dealt with.
Plots
i. Marshclaw has been killing-- literally-- to get the deputy spot in Oceanclan since he had been made a warrior. Ever since he killed his brother, Beepelt, (no body knows about the vicious murder), Sandstar has mad the young tom deputy under her word. No cat knows of Marshclaw's evil ways, or evil thoughts. No cat knows of how he plans to kill Sandstar and become leader of Oceanclan himself. He will succeed, but if he does, will he be granted the nine lives from Starclan? Or will they refuse him his nine lives? Or, will some cat find out about his evil ways, and kill him before it's too late?
[ basically, marshclaw succeeds at killing sandstar, but in the process, another warrior kills Marshclaw, and they become leader instead. They will choose deputy (probably one of my cats) and what not. ]
ii. featherpool is falling for marshclaw instead,.. and is going to have his kits after a couple of moons. how will blizzardclaw cope? what will happen when blizzard finds out about everything, and ends up killing marsh after marsh kills sand? what will feather do about the marshkit's 2.0?? The kits will be named Batkit, Marshkit, Urchinkit and Tidekit.
iii. Conchwing and Aspenfeather are going to have a litter of three at the same time as Featherpool and Marshclaw. The kits will be named Sunkit, Leafkit and Berrykit.
iv. CURRENT SIDEPLOG breezepaw and Firepaw will find a group of three foxes that are hostile. Sandstar sends out a patrol and many cats eat injured, but they win, but at the cost of Yarrowfur dying. Is this the slow break of Oceanclan? Is it a message from starclan of Marshclaw’s ambition and betrayal ?
v. OOh, forbidden romance between Iceswirl and Puddleheart. Iceswirl is falling for Puddleheart the medicine cat! What happens when she bares his kits? Will the clan find out? How will Rosepaw and Firepaw react to the new mate of their mother? How will their father, Shellstripe, Iceswirl's exmate react?

joining is extremely simple. Everyone's maximum of how many cats they can claim is four. Two toms, and two shes. Minimum is two, one tom one she. This is so everything is kept even and equal. Please be sure to add the password, and PLEASE read the rules! Thank you dears!

Clan History && Religion
Many moons ago a cat given the name Ocean was traveling with a few friends. They came across a beautiful beach where the waves tasted of salt, but didn't harm the cats. It was an amazing find. Ocean was happy, and felt like she could live there for decades upon decades. She recruited cats from the surrounding forest and mountains, and there, upon the beach, they made their home. No, they didn't live upon the sand, they lived closer to the mountains, in caves they called dens. Ocean received weird dreams of starry cats, telling her she was to lead this clan onto death do the whole clan part. So to this day, she was known as Oceanstar, leader of Oceanclan. She was succeeded by her son, Ripplestar. And since then, the clan grew bigger and stronger, accepting outsiders, and thanking Starclan for giving them their home by the beach and the ocean, where they live, under Sandstar, as a loving clan. And, today, they still continue to grow happily.

Oceanclan territory is rather large. The camp is to the Northern part of the forest, and close to the mountains.
The Greater StarFall is a freshwater river emptying into the salt water ocean, crossing it is quite hard, and only those who have practiced river jumping cross, while others use various stepping stones, and fallen branches.
The forest those, is dubbed Endless forest, where apprentices are trained in catching woodland creatures.
Some cats tend to going swimming in the ocean and occasionally catch fish.
On the South side of the river, up the beach and close to the water, when the level is down low, the Star Cave is used as meeting place for the medicine cats. It is also where the Leaders go to obtain their nine lives. Also on the side of the river, there is a training hollow on the sand where apprentices are taught to run on the sand, and battle effectively.
While on the northern side of the river, lies a hollow for the apprentices as well, to practice woodland skills such as climbing, digging and battling and hunting.
There tends to be hurricanes, which leads the cats to going further west, seeking help from their Heathclan "enemies."
The most common prey for the Oceanclan cats tend to be Fish, and mice, and squirrels, and birds and the occasional rabbit.
The least common prey tend to be moles, serpants (or adders) and frogs or lizards that hide in the rocks by the beach.
Common predators for Oceanclan cats tend to be Dogs, Foxes, Badgers, Hawks, and Twolegs.
Neutral animals tend to be the animals that stray from the moorland on Heathclan territory, such as sheep, and cows. Deer are also neutral. Moles, though sometimes eaten, are neutral.
The weather tends to be chilly by the water as the weather is currently New-leaf. The sky is often cloudy, and it often rains. But there is no snow, and the sun does shine quite a bit.There seems to be a light layer of fog drifting from Heathclan territory, making it easy to disguise scent and sight within the woodlands, making hunting easier. Prey is plentiful.
OceanClan Camp
Oceanclan's camp is a rather large sandy clearing in the forest, closest to the mountains. The cats live in a mixture of bramble make-shift dens, excluding the leader and Medicine cats.
The camp entrance is a dark sandy path which was walked on by previous ancestors.
Right inside in the Leaders den, a large rock with a nature-made den inside, fit for a leader and possibly two other cats, and moss bedding. Above the leaders den is a flattened, smoothed out surface of the rock, where the leaders and deputies call meetings, or watch the camp from. It over looks the whole camp and provides a very sunny spot for cats to sun bath on, and around the rock.
The streams cuts through the camp, separating the Leaders den from the Nursery, where there are large nests for queens and their kits, and expecting queens. It smells of milk and cherries within the nursery, and it is pretty warm. This den is probably the most packed with brambles to keep it warm during the cold seasons.
Protecting the Nursery of any danger, next is the Warriors den. This is a rather large den that is able to be expanded when needed. It uses dead branches to hold it up, and bramble bushes for the shelter.
By the warriors den lays a hollow covered with brambles and flowers, that is used to house the elders. This is the second warmest den in the camp, protecting the older cats with fragile bones from the cold and harsh winters that spread chilly winds from the ocean.
Protecting and overlook the elders, comes the apprentice dens. A medium sized den with most nests littered inside. Nests tend to be a little closer, though the brambles protecting the apprentices inside are quite thickly woven to protect them from harsh winds.
And last but not least is the fallen tree, or known as the Medicine Cat's den. Inside is an herb store, which is further inside the trunk. The Darkened trunk is lit by small holes medicine cats puncture into the bark of the thick tree to claim that they slept in this den. There are two nests, and the herbs.
On the outside of the trunk is littered with many markings of fallen warriors. The trunk is also used as a play place where kits practice their climbing-- until a warrior shouts at them, or the medicine cats.
Right in the middle of the camp is the sand clearing, where the freshkill is put, and occasionally where kits and apprentices alike like to tussle and play. warriors sometimes join in.
Surrounding the whole camp is large holly bushes, and a few tree loom over the camp, protecting the cats from predators and from their freshkill being taken.

Ravenfur - a large brown and black tom with pale amber eyes. He has large white paws, so his fur is kinda tri-colored. He is skittish, quiet and can be found to be quite smart. His sister is Amberpetal. Mate to Beetlewhisker.
Russetpelt - a large pale ginger tom with amber eyes. He is almost exactly like his brother, Rowanstorm. He is quick-thinking, loyal and hard-headed. His mate is Petalfur.
Petalfur - a small cream, ginger and black calico she-cat with pale green eyes and a plume like tail. She is sensitive, loyal and energetic. Her mate is Russetpelt.
Beetlewhisker - a small black tom with green eyes and a splash of white on his chest. Ambitious, supportive and generous. Mate of Ravenfur. ( Onyx )

Cindercreek's sudden ambush sent Shellstripe into complete fear as it startled the tom within seconds. He hadn't expected a warrior, much less the dark grey and white she-cat to leap on to him. Yet he here was, pummeled by a she-cat who was croaking in pain for she had landed with a thud. A flinch of concern struck the tom before he lifted himself up to see her off to the side, lying still. A low grunt left the male's maw before he carefully approached his fellow clanmate, who was most likely unaware of their mutual feelings. Or that's what he thought they were anyways.
"It's.. fine, Cindercreek," the pale ginger and white tabby finally meowed, licking at the fur on his back as he checked for any signs of debris. There wasn't much, thankfully, but all that grooming he had done beforehand was gone. In the midst of his own worries, Shellstripe had forgotten about the she-cat's possible injuries, leaving him ashamed. "You took a hard fall there; are you doing okay?" he asked, touching his nose to the small feline's pelt. He didn't know if she was injured or not and that was something he would leave up to Puddleheart if it took the turn for the worse.
There was one thing he wouldn't dare to admit, though; even if he wished to be alone, the warrior was secretly content with Cindercreek being in his presence. Of course, it was one of the many things he would deny to anyone, even himself. Surely there was no one around to witness it.. right?

Puddleheart couldn’t help but let out a purr. This was a side to Marshclaw that he had missed seeing, perhaps there was hope for him yet. “Alright, lead the way,” he said, nodding his head to Marshclaw to gesture for him to take the lead to the waters. It would be nice to talk for awhile, having already gotten the biggest issue out of the way. “Perhaps on the way you can tell me about your apprentice, Wavepaw, how’s her training coming along?” He asked, happy to make some sort of small talk until they could get back into talking about anything and nothing and still being comfortable around each other. (This is short and poorly written and I am sorry, I just don’t know what to have Puddleheart say, I guess.)
Marshclaw ➵ Puddleheart || Oceanclan Territory { 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 }
When Puddleheart agreed to come along, the dark brown tabby felt a little more at ease. He sighed and turned quickly on his paws, padding towards the shore of the ocean that ended their territory. Marshclaw felt a little more at ease, and his evil plans to bring Sandstar down had left his mind for the time being. When his apprentice Wavepaw was brought up, the tabby tom flicked his tail. "She's smart, but she's shy and seems to have something against me. She seems... afraid of me, and I don't know how to change that. But I know Wavepaw will be a great warrior with her brother and the other apprentices." Marshclaw decided and purred softly, looking at his brother. "How about your apprentice, Amberpetal? I know she's already a full medicine cat, but I'm sure she's still learning." He asked, trying his hardest to continue the conversation.

Feeling her fur growing a little cooler, her embarrassment washed away and she looked happily at Toadkit. She felt excited once more- she'd be able to play with her brother in the mud and mama wouldn't get mad, why else wouldn't she be excited? Sure, Sweetkit knew that it'd take moons to clean all the icky mud off her beautiful fur that she got from her mother, but she just loved playing. Was that so wrong for a kit her age? Obviously not.
Turning around, she whisked her tail. "Thank you for letting us play, mama. And yes, we understand. No more playing in the mud after today! You don't need to worry!" Sweetkit announced before glancing at her sister, Lilykit. Lashing her tail, she growled playfully. Glancing at Todkit, she hoped he'd get the message that she wanted to get Lilykit dirty, too, and she didn't wanna do it alone.
Stalking foreword, she pushed herself out with her back paws, and launched foreword and towards Lilykit, hoping to land on her and pin her to the mud. Mud kicked up from her back feet, and probably splattered on her mother- it wasn't like she meant to have that happen- without little Sweetandsaltykit knowing. Toadkit wasn't quite as sure about this whole 'get Lilykit plastered in mud' operation. He'd totally understood what his sister wanted, but he was also very aware that his other sister didn't want to get dirty. Lilykit hated dirt, and she could be a right pain in the tail if they ignored that and got her-
...and then Sweetkit jumped.
Toadkit died a little when the mud got on their mother, too. Now they were screwed. After Sweetkit had made the commitment to jumping and playing with their daintier littermate, the small grey and white tabby tom figured that he should just join in. After all, they were already gonna get in trouble for this, and Sweetkit getting scolded alone seemed unfair.
So the little tom-kit crouched to the ground, wiggled his haunches a little, and sprang into 'battle' alongside Sweetkit. Sweetkit and Toadkit replies to Lilykit, and the Aldermama

Firepaw && Rowanstorm ➳ Beetlewhisker && Breezepaw { 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 && Onyx } Firepaw felt his fur stand on end as soon as Breezepaw leaped on to the other bank of the stream. Blood roared in his ears as he got ready to jump into the stream just in case the black apprentice tom didn't make the jump completely. But, thankfully, his "friend"-- obviously he wanted Breezepaw as more than a friend-- made it safely to the other bank. With a loud, happy purr, Firepaw bounced foreword and nuzzled Breezepaw gently, licking his cheek. "I swear you did better than me! That was an amazing leap." He paused before curling himself around him. "But you're still wet and cold. I really hope you don't get sick." The flame colored tom mewed quickly after, carefully lapping his tongue over Breezepaw's still soaked fur. When his mentor offered to take the two out more often, his green eyes brightened. "Please? If Silverstorm says it's alright? I'd love to practice things with him more often. Oh, please, Beetlewhisker?"
Rowanstorm stepped back once the tom made it to the other side. He nodded carefully, purring deeply. "Ah, you did extremely well, Breezepaw. But, now is not the time to fond over each other." The solid ginger tom mewed, his blue eyes growing dark as the rain seemed to pick up. He tasted the air and shook out his fur before gesturing with his tail for the others to follow. "We came out to look for brambles, but if we keep standing by the stream bank, all the brambles will be soaked and sodden and no good to use for our dens." He added on, flicking his tail. Rowanstorm had more of a deputy like tone to him, much more than Marshclaw had, but the two were both tough and amazing warriors. Was Rowan salty about not being deputy? A little... But he tried his best. Leading the other three through the undergrowth, he spotted a group of brambles sheltered under the trees- it was dry, to their luck. "Here. Beetlewhisker and Firepaw, can you two dig it out? Breezepaw and I will try tugging it out of the dirt once we start seeing the roots." Rowanstorm offered, flicking his tail.
