Morticat I'll have Rowanflame live so he can step down!))
Rowanflame also slowed down to his apprentice, Crowpaw. "Its cold out today," he said, "your strong though, I think you can handle it." He was trying to get to his point which was to see if Crowpaw would want to stay in the clan forever. Coding by P H O Σ N I X

{ Honcho: I figured that after Leopardstar dies, her deputy (whoever that is after Rowanflame steps down) will become Leader, choose a new deputy (decided among all of you guys), and once that leader dies due to the tragic events I have set, the deputy who you all chose will become the new Leader of RavenClan. Hope that sort-of makes sense, lol. }

( ☀ ) - H I C K O R Y H O R S E ! ! ───────────────────── ravenclan warrior / age . thirty-six moons / location . fresh-kill pile / tags . open to rp!
Having already risen early to start the day, Hickoryhorse shook the accumulated fodder out his thick pelt while he stood outside the barn. As the quotidian daybreak progressed into late morning, the prestigious brown tabby had already started to consider about the Clan's needs, and exactly what needed to be done today. Today, like always, he'd be closely burdened with urgent business with to-be-undertaken affairs — like making rounds about the territory for any threats or encroachers, hunting for meals; so on, and so forth — things that Hickoryhorse was well proficient at. He was trying to keep his Clan in tip-top shape, especially now that leafbare had descended on them.
They had survived a lot thus far; he didn't want them to fall over now.
Still, as hard-pressed as he was, he did not fret unnecessarily on these things, for he knew how to take it slowly. For now, he decided that predating was the biggest priority — in an attempt to test his resolve, he walked over to the pile of freshly killed game. It was rather... meager, obviously precipitated by the mammals of the territory preparing to hibernate, but there was nothing an attempt to hunt wouldn't do. With a low sigh, the massive male raised his mass to slowly walk away from the pile, head held up in a regal, resolute fashion.
I reckon I can find somethin' out here. I wonder if Silverwhisker or the other warriors had any luck.

( ♕ ) - F A W N P A W ! ! ───────────────────── medicine cat apprentice / age . nine moons / location . barn, upper level / tags . Splashpaw
Fawnpaw stayed silent for a moment — not bothering to taking off her immensely apathetic facial expression — before giving the male juvenile a shrug of hesitant acceptance.“Mm. Alright, then.” Even with that indifferent statement, she still made a mental note to accompany them later on — if they decided to go outside to accrue their desired vegetation, of course. Although her pelt had been shed innately beneficial to produce a slightly downy and more insulated one, the wintertide's temperature and breezes still proved to be chilling; even with the sun's warm lambency to overpower it on one's fur.
And she didn't quite feel like freezing her toes off today.
Once again, the muscle contained within her back limbs pleated underneath her, obtaining her a refined sedentary posture. Her upper spine curved with the motion of pushing her chest out in order to stretch her shoulder blades and neck. In the time it took for her to relax again, Splashpaw had queried again, this time concerning the hallowed Highstones. “Highstones,” she echoed, looking as if she were musing on the answer. Ultimately, she shook her head.
“No. But I know of a few family members who did. Think it was my grandmother.” If she could remember correctly from what she'd heard from her biological parents, her grandmother, a former medical practitioner, was a very devout cat who visited that place to speak with the spirits of the departed. It was common for a medicine cat to not only to have adept finesse with thier healing, but also a strong connection with the lamented forebears of the Clans. “She was a very pious cat who was really attentive to prophecies and StarClan and what-not. I wish I could go, to be honest.” Her tone of voice told of fascination, but it was, again, concealed by nonchalance. Settling down, her upper body lowered onto the wooden floor of the foremost tier, paws crossed and tail curled about her winsome form. Exhaling through her nostrils, she closed her eyes.
“But — I dunno, really. It's a lengthy journey. And I still need to touch up on my own faith in StarClan, anyways.”

The frost and snow dusted soil crunched under Dawnshine's paws, not letting her forget for a moment that it was freezing cold, although her thick frame helped insulate her better than most cats. She slowed down a bit to fall in line with Starlingpaw, wanting to get a feel for how she was adjusting. "Have you been getting a hang of things around here?" She asked the apprentice in a friendly tone. Dawnshine did really want to know if Crowpaw was feeling comfortable in Clan-life as well, but she figured that for the time being she'd let his mentor Rowanflame guide him and prod his thoughts, and she would focus her energies on the hopeful looking she-cat. As the patrol headed out of the barn, Starlingpaw and Crowpaw dropped into step beside one another, out of habit more than anything else. For a few moments, their pelts brushed together, both cats knowing instinctively to protect the other and watch their back, and for a moment it felt like old times. However, as Dawnshine dropped back to Starlingpaw's other side, Crowpaw stepped away, retreated farther to the back o the patrol. Starlingpaw cast a brief glance over her shoulder at him, briefly lamenting the loss, but she had little time to think much about it when her mentor addressed her.
"Oh, yes!" Starlingpaw replied eagerly, any regret for Crowpaw lost in her eagerness. "It's been great. I'm really learning a lot. There's so many hunting and fighting techniques I never would have thought of on my own. And it's so nice not to have to fight over a den every few nights." She let out a wistful sigh, thinking back to her days in twolegplace. She wished Frost could have been here to see this, though; Starlingpaw was sure her mother wouldn't have complained living out her last days in a Clan's elders' den, even if it wasn't exactly the Clan of her birth.

As Crowpaw trailed behind Starlingpaw and Dawnshine, he half-listened to their conversation, though not with a particular interest. He knew well enough how Starlingpaw felt about the Clan, after all- their inverse opinions had been the source of more strife between the siblings than he would care to admit. Still, he couldn't help but feel a pang of bitterness and heartbreak as she expressed her enthusiasm for Clan life. Crowpaw had somewhat hoped that the excitement of the new experience would wear off of her in a moon or two, and that she- like him- would be ready to move on to their next adventure. Unfortunately, that eventuality was starting to seem less and less likely.
Crowpaw pricked his ears slightly as Rowanflame slowed to walk next to him, his gaze level and veiled of any emotion. He gave a slight nod to the older tom; not quite a respectful dip of the head, but some acknowledgement so as not to seem entirely rude, though he offered no more greeting than that. He assumed the deputy wanted something, either to try to teach him something that he probably already knew, or else to order him about as Clan cats seemed to be so fond of. However, Rowanflame's words proved to be true to neither assumption, and instead seemed to Crowpaw to be entirely pointless.
"Of course," Crowpaw replied a bit curtly, flicking his tail. At least here there were warm dens, plenty of prey, peace of mind, and the guarantee of a decent night's sleep to keep one's strength up- not like twolegplace, where even if a warm, safe den could be found, one would have to defend it constantly with claws and teeth, and the same was to be said for any decent food. Not to say, of course, that leaf-bare would be any less cold or unforgiving here; Crowpaw had his pelt fluffed up as much as he could, and already his paw-pads were beginning to go numb from walking on the freezing gravel. Of course, he would never admit that to Rowanflame, or any other cat for that matter. Regardless, Crowpaw felt that Rowanflame's "observation" was a pointless one to point out... of course he deal with the cold. Certainly there was more the deputy wanted to say than that. Crowpaw let his gaze pass over his mentor a bit coldly, trying to determine what his ulterior motive might be.
(lmao Crowpaw is the saltiest. He's so bitter and condescending rn)
