The idea of going out without the explicit permission of her mentor or higher-up made her nervous, and typically doing what Gorsepaw suggested would surely result in a punishment - maybe stuck to the elder's den being Sparrowclaw's personal bather and guard for a moon. Marshpaw wrinkled her nose at the thought, but in the same instant considered that taking initiative and going out not by herself, but with Gorsepaw and maybe bringing back something for the Clan to eat, that would bring her favor with her mentor. She stared hard at the entrance of camp for a moment, considering everything and then met Gorsepaw's gaze. "How about we make sure we bring some fresh kill back," Marshpaw nodded at the apprentice and motioned towards the entrance of camp. Headphone Actor

» S p i d e r p a w Spiderpaw found the excited tom's attitude tasteless but shrugged it off quickly; they were both new to this whole thing and it wasn't as if Spiderpaw was necessarily thrilled to learn about the best places to scrape moss. The black and white tom slowed down his pacing so he could be in line with his mentor and following his lead. Soft dirt squished under his paw pads and between his toes, and opening the rest of his senses he felt as though he could nearly taste everything he smelled. A sweet earthy scent hung in the air mingled with the fresh scent of WindClan markings and aging mossy rocks. A completely different set of smells compared to what the apprentice would smell while dozing around in confides of camp. His paws ached to take off and run, to feel the wind pushing back his whiskers and challenging him to push back harder against the winds, but he didn't, and he glanced over to Antstep, "I'm not too familiar with the borders," he explained to the gray tom, "But an adventure sounds great! We can span the whole territory in one day, bring back some fresh kill for the clan and maybe battle some passing rogues," Spiderpaw said with a gleam in his eyes, sinking his claws into the ground with eagerness. "Oh, and that moss," he added quickly. 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖

[ Feathertalon -- ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁 ]
Firepaw felt proud that he had come up with names that the other queen had liked. Not that he himself was a queen, but he felt like one at the moment. Twitching his whiskers, he took her offer into thought, but it didn't last long. He felt like if he could take every chance at being around these two bundles of fur, then he would take it. He looked at Hummingfrost once more. "I'd love to sleep in here for the night. And maybe any other night I can get, if that is okay. At least until we get other queens in here, then I will only step foot inside if I'm needed or if i really miss these two." Firepaw declared before looking at the two kits once more.
When Grasswhisker spoke once more he purred softly, nodding his head quickly. "I'm sure they'd love to have an uncle in you, Grasswhisker." He mewed happily as he flicked his tail at the older toms shoulder. "Maybe you'll mentor one of them when they're apprenticed. That's only if you quit being lazy." Firepaw teased playfully before looking at the tom kit who was trying so desparately to get back to his sister. "I hope they love it here. And I hope they see me as their father. If not me, then maybe Iceclaw." He looked at Hummingfrost, purring in amusement.

Featherpool was about to argue, wanting to say that their stocks were filled with as much as they had found the previous days, but she also knew not to argue with her mentor. Dipping her head, she agreed to checking out the stocks of herbs. "Of course Thornwhisker. It's better to be safe than run low, right? And maybe after I finish checking, we can go out and have a look around for catmint." She replied softly. She still felt horrible coming back empty pawed. But what could Featherpool do? She wasn't some wizard that could grow leaves and herbs wherever she touched. A purr of amusement left her throat as she padded into the den once again, shifting through their piles of herbs. Marigold, tansy, thyme... Juniper, borage, chamomile... She recited the herbs to herself, proud that she had even so much as managed to figure out what each one was, and its usage. Clearing out a few of the dead leaves, Featherpool nodded before glancing back at Thornwhisker. "A few of the Chervil leaves died from not being used. The pile isn't that low, but maybe we should see if we can find some more." She told her mentor as she stood up, trotting over the the brown tabby, ruffling out her gray tabby pelt.

The commotion in the nursery left the large black tom rather annoyed- did every cat have to find out what the apprentice was doing with a few kits? Snorting he carefully licked his chest fur and looked around. No patrols were sent out just yet, and he noticed the freshkill pile was running a bit low. Too low for Batfrost's liking. Standing up on his paws, he stretched out, shook out his fur and searched for a certain cat until he spotted her. Purring, he trotted over to Hareskip and nudged her shoulder with his muzzle. "Morning, Hareskip. Would you like to go hunting with me? I don't think Thistleshine sent out any patrols. And I wanted to get out of camp, but not alone, of course." The tom mewed softly, flicking his tail behind him slowly.

Thornwhisker - Camp - -` gumi ´- .✫ 🐾Thornwhisker felt renewed enthusiasm at Featherpool’s willingness. She gave her apprentice a curt nod and waited until she moved inside the den to check the herb stocks. At least Featherpool was willing to make it up.
It obviously wasn’t her fault that she came back with empty paws. Maybe the catmint plants really were disappearing. That would call for drastic action, but she hoped that it wasn’t the case. As Featherpool exited the den Thornwhisker listened in for the report.
“Ahh, I see. I take it you threw the dead ones away, yes? We might as well look for a bit of chervil too. I agree with that. Where exactly did you check for catmint again? We can check there once again, but let’s look in the places you didn’t.” She quickly began to pad to the camp’s exit and flicked her tail to beckon her apprentice there.
“Don’t think I’m mad at you,” Thornwhisker mewed quietly and briskly as she stepped out of camp.
“It’s not your fault.” She breathed in the fresh, clean air of the forest and readied herself to move along to look for more herbs.

[ @negatorri -- tbh i'm already loving the mentor-apprentice relationship between these two~ ]
Featherpool carefully picked up the dead leaves with a single claw and bounded out of the den with a nod. She dug a little hole by the den, tossed the leaves inside, before burying them once more. He attention turned to Thornwhisker and she nodded carefully. "Dead ones are now gone, yes. So I don't need to worry much about that." She stated before quickly following her mentor towards the entrance of the Windclan camp. Flicking her tail, she shrugged her shoulders slightly, recalling the area that she and Dimheart had previously searched for herbs in.
"By the Thunderclan border and the stream separating our territories. I even crossed the stream to look for some. I would've looked in other places but we kind of got in to an argument about Iceclaw." Featherpool mewed shyly, looking at her mentor. When she mentioned that she wasn't mad, the medicine cat apprentice felt a load more relaxed than she had when she told Thornwhisker about the unsuccessful trip for catmint. She was a little more relaxed to go out and find some, now. Instead of being distracted like she had been before with Dimheart.
You have to keep yourself away from her, or else you'll fall harder, Featherpool. Who knows what could happen if cats find out. She thought. Sighing, she quickly picked up the pace to stay in step beside the molly that had mentored her. Featherpool prayed to Starclan that they would find something in the trip, or else they were possibly in trouble come leafbare.

Thornwhisker - Out of Camp - -` gumi ´- .✫ 🐾 ” Good.” Thornwhisker praised Featherpool for the simple task of depositing the dead leaves, still aware that perhaps she was feeling bad about coming back empty-pawed. A bit of praise wouldn’t do anything major anyways. She quickened her pace to a brisk trot as she caught up with Featherpool and narrowed her eyes as her apprentice spoke once more about where she had checked for catmint previously.
“Let’s look there again, and after we can look in the places you didn’t. By the way... If you’re not cooperating well with Dimheart you might as well not go with her next time. I’m just trying to do what’s best for you, Featherpool. I can see that you came back a bit distracted but I won’t pry further. I understand your need for privacy. But please, do the right thing.”
Thornwhisker’s unusually light-hearted mew turned as cold and respectful as usual, but also had a hint of worry embedded in it. Today was meant to be a day where she could relax, but she had to nose around where she had to nose around. Talking was a waste of time. Sometimes it wasn’t.
“Actually... Never mind what I said about Dimheart. It’s not my business.” She suddenly took back her mild warning with a little sigh as she continued to sniff around for the familiar scent of catmint. What use was it for Thornwhisker to be making decisions for her own apprentice? She stifled another sigh while carefully trying to keep track of her pawsteps to see where she had searched. “Now, have you checked here?”

[ Featherpool ] - - [ Windclan Territory ] - - [ @negatorri ]
Whisker's twitching, Featherpool listened to her mentor talk about her possibly not spending as much time with Dimheart, or just not taking her out of camp in general on herb searches. She stayed quite for the time being, letting Thornwhisker's words soak in. Her gaze fell to the floor. Maybe the medicine cat was right. Featherpool was always distracted whenever she was around the beautiful molly named Dimheart. Flicking her tail she went to reply before Thornwhisker took back what she said.
Bounding foreward, Featherpool shookher head. "No, no, Thornwhisker. You're right. I'm getting myself into something against our code... Something that could cause Starclan to be very angry with me." She breathed softly, feeling a little uneasy. Why was she telling her mentor about her wrong doings? She knew she had to tell somecat. Maybe that was the reason.
"I just... I really can't help who I fall in love with. Thornwhisker, I'm scared that if I get myself too far, Rainstar will exile me. You saw first hand what he did to me when I wasn't able to train as a warrior. He was angry, and tried to kick me and Iceclaw out of the clan. But if it wasn't for Thistleshine... We... I wouldn't be here, as your apprentice. I'm afraid that if I break the medicine cat code, not only will Starclan be angry, but our leader will be too. And I just don't know what to do about it." Featherpool rambled with a soft sigh.
Her attention turned towards the area they were looking at for herbs, before she shook her head slowly. "No, Thornwhisker, I haven't looked here. Shall we now, then?" She asked, unsure what her mentor would say about her sudden outburst.

Thornwhisker - Out of camp --` gumi ´- .✫ 🐾 Thornwhisker listened carefully as Featherpool suddenly spoke, worry pricking at her pelt uncomfortably. She tried to brush it off and listened with keen eyes. Would StarClan be angry at her apprentice? They wouldn’t be... She had no way to know though if they were.
“Pshaw, Rainstar... He needs to loosen up a bit. Anyways, he won’t give you any trouble if I’m here to help you. ” Thornwhisker replied with a harsh, mildly cold laugh.
She stifled a sigh as she knew that her words were rather badly placed and that she herself had no experiences with love. It was a dangerous thing, she was told. It was good to not know how it felt. Pushing away her thoughts, Thornwhisker continued speaking after she heard the rest of Featherpool’s ramble. She knew that it must have taken a long time to summon up the courage for speaking so freely... Judging the medicine cat apprentice wouldn’t help a bit. Maybe trying to relate to her would work.
“You know what? My mentor once fell in love with s tom, she told me. He began getting in the way of her duties and she couldn’t take it anymore. She decided to leave him and choose her respected job over him, and she was heartbroken. Heartbroken for quite a while. Soon she realized that it was the absolute best decision of her life. It will be yours too.”
Thornwhisker spoke with conviction and a persuasive edge emerged form her voice. Maybe this wasn’t the way to help Featherpool. Maybe.. she could go down another route.
“You’re a responsible apprentice, Featherpool. I trust you to the right thing but for now you must keep this under wraps. The clan contains rather judging cats. Remember, do the right thing. I know you will.” She dipped her head slowly after she spoke, her solemn tone slowly fading away into silence. Thornwhisker let her face brighten up immediately as if nothing had ever happened and she added one last thing.
“Of course. We can look here for catmint.”

Stickfur - Border - FeathertalonStickfur gave a short nod, embarrassment pricking at his pelt once more after hearing Hickoryburn mention it yet again. Couldn’t things just go to the past and leave him alone? Inwardly sighing, he managed to smile half-heartedly.
“Y...Yes. I know. I’ll go and mark the border now, we best get back before the bad weather sets in.”
Stickfur swayed a bit as he spoke but quickly righted himself and found his paws as he trotted over to the side of the border he was meant to mark. Despite his obvious awkwardness and strange gait he moved quite quickly, getting to the area in absolutely no time. His marking of the border was just as fast as he rushed along and marked all the necessary areas.
The only reason he didn’t go painfully slowly was the threat of rain that made his pelt just shiver thinking about it. Even a few droplets would be devastating... Instinctively Stickfur plopped down to lick his paws and forgot about the task at hand, but soon he realized that cleaning his paws outside of camp was just daft. Rain on a clogged pelt would be a whole lot worse than mildly dirt paws after all.
Stickfur almost slipped on absolutely nothing as he stood up in a hurry and sprinted back over to Hickoryburn. There was no time to be sentimental or have any useless emotions when he had to rush.
“I finished. Let’s leave.” Stickfur almost seemed worried as he spoke, stumbling over his nearly inaudible mumbles. Rain, rain, rain! He quickly turned in the direction of camp and began making a beeline for it through the territory.
“We best hurry. Oh, wait! You can lead.” More embarrassment hit him as he realized that Hickoryburn was to be the leader of the patrol and not him. He scooted back as soon as he spoke, eyes to his paws. He obviously wouldn’t dare to look at the fellow warrior after another embarrassing moment... With a sigh Stickfur tried to hope that Hickoryburn would pay no mind to it.
