~~~They say the Sands of Time will shift forever, and that Blood is thicker than Water. Light will overcome Darkness, and Love will find the Lost.~~~
Welcome to a random Fantasy RP idea I had. Basically, generic Fantasy world. Feel free to be any kind of mythical creature really. We're starting in the capital city, called E'toh. Mage guilds are on the rise, and there's a threat of a Dark Wolf invasion from the south. We'll come up with more plots and things as we go.
Completely jump in, no need to make a character description. Have fun, don't be rude or you'll be asked to leave, and let's keep things generally PG.
~BEGIN RP~
Clay was lost in thought as he walked down the cobbled streets of E'toh. He had just lost some money gambling at an inn, and wasn't in all that great of a mood to start with today. He'd woken up late, hadn't had a good breakfast, and then had heard some talk about able-bodied folk getting drafted into the Guard in case the Dark Wolves moved even further north. He apologized as people jostled past him; everybody but him seemed to be in a hurry today, and this wasn't even the busy part of the city...
Gotcha. I can work with that then. You have no idea... I've been wanting to rp so bad but its been so rough finding active rps for fantasty and making one right now is so much work...///
Anizi narrowed his eyes as stared down at his wrist and adjusted the small leather bracers that rested under the long sleeves of his robe like coat. The golden cat eyes sharpened as he furrowed his brows and groaned. At times there was no real point to dress up and go out. The only thing that was a perk of doing so was the chance of attention. The dark fur of the collar pressed close to his cheeks as the black feline ears flattened to his head. Huffing, he rolled his eyes and swung his arm out to the side, the dark bracer sliding down instantly to his wrist as the sleeve moved to cover it. One ear lifted as he looked off to a small group that seemed to be chatting while the other ear twitched back and took in another conversation. "Same ol' same ol'..." He muttered to himself as he turned his body around and faced a decently sized fountain. His lips pressed together as he gave an amused look. "Would be nice if there was more positive talk around here besides the topic of Dark Wolves and all of that nonsense..." His voice was more rough than intended but did manage to express the irritation from it all.
"I could use some positive," Clay's voice comes from behind Anizi, his elf ears twitching slightly at the cat's generally fancy clothing. He wondered why anybody would bother to dress up. Maybe it was just a cat thing, he didn't hang around them enough to know. "And don't cats not like water?" Clay asked, gesturing to the fountain with a friendly grin.
The male flinched at the sudden voice that invaded his thinking before turning around quickly. The dark tail twitching as he gave a tensed look. "Some, but not all." Golden orbs moved up and down the other before his ears moved forward. "Personally I do not, but it is a nice relaxing sound." A hand lifted as he lowered his tone and turned his attention away for a short moment. "Having wet fur is not something you come to like. It's like wet clothing but you cant take it off." His lightly tanned face relaxed at the friendly grin before returning a short one. "Hm, positivity seems to be a rarity here anymore. A little disappointing that such a large city holds a small amount."
Clay shrugged. "That's a logical enough argument. And a positive outlook as well..." Sort of... "Maybe we just need more people to focus on the good. Good tends to spread that way." There is something interesting about this one, I realize.
"Yeah, if there were more to flood out all of the talk of Dark wolves and all of that none sense." His eyes softened as he turned them away and looked around the surrounding area. A few females walked together with gasp and soft laughs, others continued to express their worries over such a matter that didnt seem so big to at least Anizi. A black cat ear twitched as he stared off in the distance before blinking and flicking both ears forward again. "So, what brings you to me? Just interested in a creature as myself or looking for something to do in the mean time~?" His cat eyes narrowed as a twisted grin formed on his lips as the black tail swayed slowly behind himself, pulling the tail of the jacket to each side even having the slit to avoid such actions.
/// Oops I forgot about this X.x ///
Clay shrugged. "I was wandering around, mostly just looking for something to do. Wishing I hadn't just lost money, and wishing people weren't so stuck up." He looked at Anizi for a moment. "But you don't seem that way I guess, so that's a score." He idly scratched his head, shifting his weight to one foot and glancing around. Nothing interesting, as usual. Wasn't there supposed to be adventure and fun in a city like this?
The loud pitter-patter of four sets of feet made their way towards the fountain in a rather rushed manner. First, a hyena-looking creature emerged before a younger elven boy appeared behind it. "Wait up you snob!" The boy cried to the canine as it sprinted before him. Turning it's head to peer back at the child, the hyena gave a wicked cackle before colliding head on with the fountain itself. Landing in an uncomfortable position on it's chest, the hyena would split it's maw to sputter a few curses in a gruff female voice. It wasn't much longer before the boy caught up, bending over with his hands on his knees as he attempted to catch up on much needed breath. "I was gonna tell you to watch out," The child panted before pausing to stand upright. "But maybe it's better off as a lesson to you." "I don't take lessons from you," The talking hyena retorted before getting to it's paws. "Now change me back you dirty elf," She barked. "Before I bite those pointy ears right off."
I guess sometimes the excitement comes to you... Clay thought when the talking hyena and the other elf appeared. He instinctively backed away a bit, fumbling mentally for what to do or say, before blurting out the first thing that came to mind. "You changed her to a hyena?!"
"Well yeah, but only 'cause she can't manage her shapeshifting on her own!" The small elf retorted, cracking a less-than-toothy grin at the canine. "Are we not going to address the fact that I was never even meant to be a hyena in the first place? I told you dog, what don't you understand about that?" The female responded with a snarky bark, her haunches lowering into a seated position. With a huff and a roll of his eyes, the boy reached his hands into the bag he had strapped around his shoulders. Eventually he pulled out a dinky wand. "Abracadoodle-doo!" The boy cried before pointing it towards the hyena. With a faint cloud of sparkles, the hyena's frame shifted into that of a feminine Satyr. "We all know you don't have to say that, so please quit embarrassing me." The goat hybrid grimaced before brushing herself off and standing upright.
Elwrin looked down at the city, leaning to the side as to see past Logondi's thick neck. "There seems to be quite a lot of commotion down there." Elwrin observed. "Isn't that kind of the point of a city?" Logondi replied sarcastically. "I swear, you humans are so ignorant at times." "You know that's not what I mean't." Elwrin replied. "Do you want to go check it out?" "Fine." Logondi agreed begrudgingly. "But don't get angry if we get attacked again." "We swore we'd never talk about Gil'ead!" Elwrin stated, irritated. "Whatever. let's just go." Logondi swooped down toward the city, spotting a semi-clear patch of cobblestone walkway a good twenty yards away from a fountain. He adjusted his direction and decelerated by turning his wings laterally, acting as an airbrake. They slowed enough for Logondi to land. With a powerful leap, Elwrin landed on the walkway on both feet, just in front of logondi.
//It's ok xD I've been busy with college so it all works out. //
Anizi blinked a few times at the smaller two beings before looking back up to Clay. "Well, if you were bored before, you cant be bored now." The feline male narrowed his gold eyes and gave a straight expression. "Better than hearing all of this other drama. I was honestly waiting on a close friend from another part of the lands." The cat like tail flicked side to side as the female became a half goat like being before his body flinched. Blinking a few times he arched a brow and looked back over to the other being from before,"Wait, stuck up? I'm not? I suppose...I wouldn't truly agree but I will take the kind comment." The black ears flattened as he lowered his head a bit.
(〃・ω・〃) hello all!! :0
The elven boy rolled his eyes, scoffing gently as he tucked his wand back into his satchel. "Why you gotta suck the fun outta everything, huh?" He asked bitterly before peering over towards two landing figures. The boy then looked towards the cat-man as he spoke, although had no intention on poking into the conversation he seemed to be holding with the older elf. "C'mon Ghehi, I got other spells I wanna try out before my next evaluation." "No way," The Satyr began, her hooves clicking against the paved stone road as she turned herself about to lean against the fountain base. "Not after the fiasco we just endured. Haven't we tortured the townsfolk enough? We should take a rest and leave it up to the Dark Wolves." With a frown, the elf boy smacked the goat hybrid on the arm lightly. "Don't say things like that, you'll get us in trouble or something." He scorned. "What? If I say Dark Wolves? Dark Wolves! Dark Wolves! Dark Wolves!" Ghehi began hollering her legs flailing about as she snickered at the frantic child. "Relax kiddo, I don't think they can hear me from here." She sneered playfully.
A black ear flicked to the side as his gold eyes landed on the goat hybrid,"Dunno about that." His low voice muttered as he grinned. "The Dark Wolves aren't a force to make a joke out of." A wicked smile was plastered on his face as he narrowed his eyes more,"Anyone could be part of them, ya know? Maybe your friends, family..." The feline smirked as his tail lifted and his chin lowered.
With a roll of her eyes, Ghehi blew a small raspberry. "I'm not afraid of them. In fact, I dare them to show their face towards me." The Satyr spoke, her nose scrunching as she continued. "I ain't afraid of nothing." With a humble sigh, the elf boy looked towards the cat-man. "She's lying." He explained simply. "I am not you little twerp," Ghehi growled, her small tail thumping against the stone fountain as she spoke.
"Everyone has a fear. Whether it is small or big it is there." The pupils sharpened as he parted his lips and looked away,"Besides, sometimes being fearless leads to a disaster." Smiling, Anizi raised a brow and folded his arma over his chest. A soft gust of wind managed to lift the back of the robe like coat and cover the black tail again. "Even great warriors have fears." A soft purr rested in his throat as he watched the smaller being closer before his golden orbs turned away. "Im sure I could find something.."
Clay shook his head at the Satyr's theatrics with the younger Elf. He'd never really made too many friends himself, preferring his simple uninterrupted days of solitude. In fact, he was already feeling a bit overwhelmed. Maybe he shouldn't have gone looking for adventure. When the newcomers landed a short distance away, he was already trying to think of an excuse to be leaving, but a small part of his mind convinced him to stay and see what would happen. Maybe today could turn out good after all.
I dont as of right now, but Im sure eventually I could come up with something. Im just thinking of how I wanna bring in my other person // The males attention moved back over to the other, a raised brow still in place as he watched him closely. "Overwhelmed?" The half human and part cat seemed to pace over to him and lowered his head before walking behind him. The cat tail brushed against his leg before Anizi stopped at the other side of him, moving to place someone between the fountain and himself.
Elwrin started forward, heading towards a rather peculiar group of individuals. Logondi followed, but his bulky size prevented him from moving at the same pace. He snorted, loosing a string of fire from his nostrils. "Greetings. Elwrin stated as he approached. "I am Elwrin Cerberus, and behind me is my Dragon, Logondi. I haven't been here in over a year, so I was wondering if any of you could, mayhap, point us in the direction of the nearest inn?"
Ghehi scoffed wordlessly at the cat before peering towards the new figure and his dragon friend. "If I were you I'd skip town, traveler." The Satyr spoke, her nails clicking against the stone. "Dark Wolves and the sort, very dangerous." She explained with a heavy accent of sarcasm. "Poor little Castien here wet the bed last night because he just couldn't stop thinking about them." She continued with a mocking tone, gripping onto the small elf gently. "I most certainly did not!" The elf proclaimed, moving his body as to release himself from the grip of the Satyr. Quickly brushing himself off, Castien took a step towards the new fellow, bearing a quiet smile. "There's a cozy inn at the town centre, it's not far from here." He explained.
"Thanks for the warning, but we're not ones to shy away from a bit of danger." Elwrin explained. "In fact, we're sort of mercinaries. We don't have a group or anything, but we go around, see what needs doing. Most times there's a beast that needs slaying or a rebellion that needs quenching. Enough to put food on our table and repair equipment. You did say something about the dark wolves, correct? I'm sure there's quite a few people that'd pay Logondi's weight in gold for something against them, whether it be information or their leader's head on a pike. If you all have anything on them, I'm sure I could make it worth your while."
"Well," Clay began, shrugging, "I'm not sure about anyone else here, but I know I'm not one to ask about things needing done. Probably better off to ask--" He was cut off as a tall man full of lean muscle marched over, hand resting on the short sword belted to his hip. "--Ask someone like me." The man gave a sideways glance at Ghehi and Castian before addressing Elwrin in a deep, commanding voice. "My guard is always looking for able bodied help, and we're planning a scout mission into Dark Wolf territory right now. Couldn't get and decent fighters from the blasted Mage Guilds," another sideways glance, this time at Anizi and Clay, "But a hefty dragon like yours would be bloody phenomenal for a mission like this." He ran a hand through his thick, dark hair, eyes narrowing slightly and jaw set. "My name is Captain Jayle Myhrr. They call me The Thunderheart, and you're right about the gold." He said, giving a small nod towards Logondi.
Anizi lowered an ear as he sighed and shook his head,"Talk around down should be enough really. They aren't some small group either. Not really a force to mess with at least not right now." The feline raised his brows as he closed his eyes. "Though, I wont be someone to stop you from your personal job." The cat like eyes kept narrow and fairly straight as he smiled softly. "Though for there to be such a big talk about them, they must have some people who slip up out of the blue and get caught out. May even have some locked away-" The voice was cut off as another male voice broke in,"Scouting mission?" His voice softened as he gave a more concerned look.
"I'm in." Elwrin stated bluntly as he stared down Jayle. "All I need to know is when is the mission, how many others will there be, and what equipment can you spare? I've been looking for a decent set of dragon armor for the past few years, but it's all either been made out of cheap metal or poorly crafted. If you happen to have a decent set in storage, or have smiths capable of making it, we'll take that over the gold."
With a roll of her eyes, the Satyr would send a scoff towards the Captain. "Fifty pence says I could take out at least five of your guards on my own." Ghehi growled. Castian nodded, a small frown forming at his lips. "The Mages Guild is far more capable than you might think," He stated. "However maybe don't test Ghehi's claims here; she can get a bit over her head." The elf added. Crossing her arms, Ghehi would roll her eyes again with excessive force. "Oh please, like you'll have any luck convincing the mighty guard." She mocked.
Captain Jayle pondered Elwrin's question for a moment, then nodded. "Beast like yours in a good set of armor would be nigh invincible if things get rough. We've got a set, old, but finely made, good Mythril mail and steel plates, strong and light together. Prove yourself on the mission and you'll keep it." Jayle turned to Ghehi with a slightly amused look. "Eager to prove your magic, eh? Why don't you and little mister abracadoodle here put words to action? If you best five of my guard in a fair fight, I'll make it sixty pence. And I'll consider letting you tag along on the mission."
"I don't need to prove myself to you," Ghehi growled before standing up off of the fountain, her arms remaining crossed over her flat chest. "And I certainly don't need to tag along on your suicide mission." She added bitterly before grabbing at Castian's hand. "C'mon Castian, we have better things to do." The Satyr said before she began pulling the smaller boy away from the gathering crowd, who turned to peer back at the Captain. However, before she could get away, another figure stood before her, blocking her access out. "What, are you scared now?" A voice rung out, a heavy elvish almost Cockney-like accent. The fully-plated knight bore the common symbolism of the guard. "Pro'lly shouldn't speak like that to the Captain either, huh hun?" The voice spoke again before glancing up to the Captain, bearing a hidden smile. "You're free to go, just know that your cowardice will be widely known." Lifting up heavily guarded hands, the knight would pull the helmet off to reveal herself as Sevise Uvaalas, a high ranking member of the kingdom's guard. She tossed an acknowledging, yet respectful nod towards her superior before peering back towards the odd pair before her.
"What do you think, Logondi?" Elwrin asked the dark orange dragon."No more having to worry about stray arrows, and pikemen can't bloody your nose before you strike."
"I agree" Logondi replied. "It will also give an advantage in the event that we combat another dragon."
"We've got ourselves a deal." Elwrin told the captain.
