Sparrowpaw padded back into camp with a hop in her step. She’d enjoyed training, she’d been able to learn a few new defense moves for a fight. Sparrowpaw’s energy hadn’t diminished in the slightest, which was both a good thing and a bad thing. It was good for days that she had multiple patrols, but bad for days like today when she had run out of things to do. This usually led to her getting in trouble, she was a curious spirit with restless paws. She glanced around the camp for another apprentice, hoping they wanted to do something fun.

WrenpoolWintercloud sighed and sat up straighter, squaring his shoulders back. Even a tragedy like this didn't excuse him from his duties, or let him wallow in self pity. "Agree to disagree I suppose. I'll be fine, but I should let Dustwhisker or Froststar know I'm ready to go on patrol if needed." Wrenpool knew that if she had just lost a kit, she wouldn't even be ready by now to go back to warrior duties. But the tom was right time will go on, he'll heal in time. The she cat was stumped for words, she searched her mind for something. "Would you like to take a walk or patrol with me?" Her tone was hopefully but she wouldn't blame the tom if he didn't want to. |

Wintercloud stared at the ground and sighed. He wanted to be alone, but he knew that if he did, he would go alone the next time. And the next, and the next, and he would be more isolated than he should be. "Yeah I think a patrol could be good for me. I would like to find out where those foxes came from and where they're going." Of course, if they ran into one, he'd tear it apart.

Wrenpool smiled as the tom agreed to go on a patrol with her, Yes!The she cat though with a delight expression, "Would you like to start heading out?" She asked, shaking out her fur before standing up and walking around the tom towards the entrance. "I think looking for the foxes is a good idea, but please don't do anything irrational." She mewed with real concern and worry for the tom. |

Sparrowpaw's head shot around as she heard Hickorypaw's voice. "Hey!" She meowed happily. She padded towards him and nodded her head. "Yeah! Thanks, I haven't eaten since I went on patrol earlier." She sat down across from him and took a small thoughtful bite from the vole. "D'you have anything planned for today?" Sparrowpaw asked, her eyes glistening with eagerness as she considered the countless things they could do.

Featherstep walked out of the warriors den and stretched. She sat down and gave her chest a few licks to tidy herself before looking around camp to see what her clan members were up to. She saw the two apprentices eating by the freshkill pile and over heard sparrowpaws question. She stood up and padded over to them “I was thinking of taking Hickorypaw on a hunt. You are welcome to come too Sparrowpaw.” She meowed

He hardly heard her as he started looking towards the forest with a renewed focus. "Mhmm sure. Let's head out." He padded towards the entrance of the camp. If they managed to find the foxes, he wouldn't hesitate to get revenge for his lost kit. And maybe, just maybe, Echoshade would be able to recover somewhat better. And if he had to have a cat with him, he was glad it was Wrenpool.

Hickorypaw and Sparrowpaw
Cherrypaw stretched in the afternoon sun. He had tagged along on a hunting patrol and just finished bringing freshkill to the elders. Nothing out of the ordinary for him, but he still hoped that his mentor would be pleased with his efforts. As he blinked from the sunlight, he saw his siblings over by the freshkill pile, and padded over. "Hey guys!" Reaching them, he slowed down upon seeing Featherstep, and dipped his head. "Hello Featherstep."

Featherstep heard a yowl from nursery and pricked her ears. She looked at the three apprentices around her before saying “Ill be right back.” She trotted over and stuck her insider the nursery. Seeing Puddlesteps wide eyes and Willowbreezes look of pain she could guess what was happening. She ran over to the medicine cat den to find Webtail meowing “It’s Willowbreeze. I think her kits are coming”

The medicine cat looked up at the intruder and sighed. Looks like he wouldn't be resting for a good long while. He said nothing, but turned around and started gathering his herbs. He pushed past Featherstep and tpwards the nursery.

Willowbreeze let out another cry as another contraction ripped through down her back. She looked up gratefully as her sister and the medicine cat walked into the nursery “My kits” she cried “I think my kits are coming!”
Featherstep ran to her sisters side and laid her tail comfortingly on her shoulder. “Just breathe Willowbreeze. I am here and so is Webtail. It’s all gonna be okay.”
