There were a few places where stoners were - that made things a little more complicated. Oh well. He wasn't particularly interested in the kid - he just wanted to figure out where this clan could be frequenting. It would make his job easier to know which park it was. That sad, he could probably figure out where it was on his own; it was a matter of using police records to figure out where bodies frequented, even the non-suspicious ones. Finn nodded idly as the officer spoke, but found himself losing interest very quickly.
"Alright," he shrugged, "I'm actually not interested in them, though. Thank you for your time."
He gave a lazy two-fingered salute and turned on his heel, walking away calmly. There was no point in sticking around when he had other things to do; it was getting dark, so he could wander around town and figure out something. A suspicious group, someone stalking another - anything that could interest him. Finn kept his hands shoved in his pockets as he walked, went over the scenario in his head. There was a girl with her throat torn out, something about a stoner park, and people who lived here who seemed to have a night shift. Then again, that was a logical thought to have; the unseeing human mind often gave excuses for odd behaviour. A massive wolf attacking a human was often dismissed as a wolfdog gone rogue or a freak accident, even within the cities. Someone going missing with an odd toad in their home was passed on, the toad ignored as a pet and usually left for dead. The half-eaten corpse of a camper in the colder regions of North America being dismissed as a bear attack, even in the middle of Winter. If humans knew what they were blind to, he wondered if they'd lose their minds.
It was possible. Not everyone was made for the supernatural life, and there was always an air of danger. Some of the more fearsome, less human creatures could smell fear, and if humans could see more, then they would likely live in fear.
Finn realised that he wasn't classing himself with other humans - but then again, he was seeing. He had the Sight, could see past everything, didn't make excuses for the weird things he saw. In that aspect, he supposed, he was different; not quite supernatural, but not wholly human anymore. A weird thought process to have, but he always had plenty of time to think.
After some time, his need for caffeine to go through the night outweighed his need to find the vampires. He'd been awake all day, which meant to stay up during the night meant to ingest caffeine. Luckily for him, there was a diner nearby. Finn entered the place, and sat at the counter. "Just coffee, please."

Maybe... Maybe Pierce was just getting a little bit too much paranoid. He was clutching onto his drink nervously, it was just a hot chocolate with whipped cream that stood about an inch upwards and he was currently stirring it into the chocolatey liquid he had ordered. Whenever he got nervous he always grabbed hot chocolate, he could make it but this hot chocolate from the diner he worked at almost always did the trick.
But not today, apparently.
He still found himself shaking a little, jumping at the opening of the door every time a customer entered or exited the building. He was convinced it would be that officer Rocco would be in to arrest him again, and his coworkers responses were "just stop doing drugs and breaking into old places" instead of reassuring him that the guy wouldn't be back in.
So he wasn't ready at all when the guy who had threatened to arrest him walked in and sat down near him, ordering a coffee. He literally jumped out of his skin at the sight of him, the chocolate spilling a little and burning his fingers. He let out a long string of swears at the burn, flicking his hands to get the hot liquid off. He let out a small sigh, his heart pounding out of his chest as he stared at the other.
"Y-You aren't going to go and arrest me, are you?" He asked suspiciously, eyes narrowing a little as he tried not to look as nervous as he actually was. He tried his best to look angry instead of scared, but it wasn't working. There was still that sharp look in his eyes, a wild warning that clearly showed how anxious he was in this situation.
His eyes looked from one area to the other, as if he were trying to find a good way to get out of this situation. He met the eye of one of his coworkers, who only gave him a shrug as if to say he was on his own. Sure, he was well liked by his coworkers, and maybe a few other people who were close to his age, but they weren't willing to stick their necks out for him on this one. The cops here would arrest them, too, because there wasn't anything else to do.
He shifted a little at that thought, giving them a hesitant nod as he mapped out his escape route- there was a back exit, and he knew how to get it. If he was fast enough he might be able to get to the back and out before this guy was able to even grab him.

When Finn was served his coffee, he took it and nodded his thanks, before he wrapped his hands around the mug. It was warm and that woke him up a little already - but he wouldn't drink it until it was cooled. Instead, he thought about his plans. Honestly, vampires weren't too hard to track down. He probably would've had an easier time if he had Shepard here - but as it was, he didn't, and so he was alone.
A familiar voice made him glance to the man from the corner of his eye, and he raised an eyebrow.
"I came to the diner for coffee, not to arrest a stoner," he said smoothly, picking up his cup of coffee and taking a sip. This kid needed to find some chill. "Or am I not allowed to come to a diner? Last I checked, it was a public space."
He just wanted some peace and quiet, a moment to think to himself before he had to go and deal with the clan. A messy situation didn't need to be made messier by this. Finn shook his head a little and glanced out the window from the corner of his eye; the sun, it seemed, had set, and now it was dark. They would be out soon, and he'd have to make his move before sunrise. That gave him a while, but he wanted this to be over with before another death, if possible. He sipped his coffee again and squinted thoughtfully.
"You could tell me which park you were referring to, though," he shrugged, "if you want to stop being a thorn in my side."

Pierce relaxed only slightly when he was told he came here for the coffee, not to arrest a stoner. His nose wrinkled a little bit at that comment, realizing he probably talked to officer Rocco if he knew that tiny little detail. He took a small sip of his own drink, still tense but less wary of the guy who had been studying the local murder. "No... No you're allowed to come here." He mumbled shyly, and he heard a bark of laughter coming from one of his coworkers.
"You know, Pierce, if you actually weren't a trouble maker maybe you wouldn't be so paranoid when a cop comes around here." One of the other waiters snorted, causing Pierce to give her the middle finger, rolling his eyes a little. At least the joke helped him calm down a little more, telling himself it was alright. He was just there for his drink.
He hadn't expected another comment, though, causing him to glance up again and study the smaller man with suspicion again. He was asking about the park- the one that he had told the guy about. He couldn't help but smirk a little, so they actually needed him, eh? He shifted a little, tapping the mug thoughtfully. Why would he want the park name? Was one of the night shifters a suspect? No, that didn't make much sense... If he was looking for a suspect then he'd be going for the hospital instead of hanging around a park with a bunch of stoners there.
"Uh, I can show you if you'd like." He responded, a little bit too snoopy for his own good. There was something suspicious going on here, something that deviated from the norm and he wanted to find out what it was. It was something that enticed him, maybe something that could catch his interest for at least a day or so. Maybe, just maybe, he could get something on the cops here too. Maybe they didn't know something and thats why they brought in this stranger, and he'd love to know something that the police didn't. Something to dangle over officer Roccos head.

While he waited for his coffee to cool, he checked his phone - but found there were no messages. Annoying, he thought, but didn't dwell on it; instead, he shoved his phone back into his pocket and glanced at the stoner again. Alright, that seemed to have made the kid settle down a little, at least, so he shrugged and sipped his coffee. Still too hot, but he could deal with it.
He glanced at the waitress who spoke up and blinked, before glancing back to the kid next to him. So his name was Pierce; that would be handy to spring on him in an unexpected manner - being observant (and listening) had its perks, he supposed. It wasn't a rare thing for him to find out someone's name from someone else - and it was always amusing when they were baffled over how he knew their name. The embarrassment that came after was fairly amusing, too - but he didn't dwell on that. Instead, he wrinkled his nose a little.
"Sure," he said after a few moments, drinking some more of his coffee.
Though he didn't particularly want a normal human to get involved, it was easier to be shown to the park than to have to poke and prod just to get the name of it. It was frustrating and it annoyed him - but he remained a neutral face and just stared into his coffee. The sooner this was done, the sooner it would be over; and the sooner he could go back to the better missions. Missions where it didn't look necessary to have to kill the culprit, missions where he could help a wolf puppy or something cute like that. Maybe he could even go and help some mermaids down in Australia. The world was full of opportunities, but he was stuck in this little town until he dealt with the vampire problem.
Vampires were, he had to admit, one of the worst to deal with.

Pierce never really waited for his drinks to cool, he would blow on the burning liquids for a few seconds before taking drinks of whatever he chose. It usually ended up with him having a permanently burnt tongue for the winter but, frankly? He wasn't a patient man. When he wanted something to drink he wasn't going to wait around for it to cool. Instead he just gulped it all down, usually the burning waking him up a bit. Usually his mouth was just burned, though, and not his throat. He'd burned that once and was completely miserable. From that day on he at least held it in his mouth for a little bit before it was ready to swallow.
He watched the other expectantly, waiting for the answer because there was no way he was going to let this one go. A suspicious dude popping up after murders? For all he knew this guy could have some trained wolves or something, things that killed humans. Or maybe he just tore peoples throats out- pierce glanced down at the mans hands, but saw no remnants of blood. Nope. Not that theory. Either way, this was a strange guy who was poking around one of his haunts, there was no way he was going to let this one go. Something fishy was going on and Pierce was determined to find out what it was, exactly. He finished his hot chocolate, rubbing the whipped cream off of his nose and brightening considerably when the man responded with a simple word: fine. Great, now he could figure out what was going on and he'd have the police department owe him. Maybe he could help with the break in the case or something.
"Great! Are we going now? I could put that coffee in a to go cup if you wanted to-"
"Pierce! Stop trying to do my job for me. If he wants the coffee in a to go cup I'll get it, not you when you're not on the clock. Boss hates it when you do that." The waitress snapped at him, making the young man roll his eyes in annoyance and sit back down, pouting a little at her. "You take the fun out of everything." He grumbled, resting his head boredly on his arms and waiting for this new guy to decide on whether to wait here for longer (something that would literally kill him) or to go now. Like he stated before, Pierce wasn't really one for waiting, and this was killing him. Even if it had been only a few minutes. He still found himself shifting a little, looking around and then looking back at this stranger with wide and expectant eyes.
It was kind of funny, though, how quickly his moods seemed to have changed. At one second he was suspicious and antsy, ready to make a run for it if he had to. Now he was excited and wriggling in his seat like some excited, overgrown puppy. He just couldn't help it, the moment there was something that caught his eye he just wanted to go and figure it out, especially with how boring this city usually was.

The sudden impatience made one of Finn's eyebrows raise, but he paid it no attention as he instead glanced down to look into his mug. It was half-empty but goddamn it, he was going to finish it. It wasn't worth just taking away, but he wasn't paying for half a mug of copy just so this kid could satisfy his curiosity. He shook his head a little.
"I don't want it to go," he said softly. "Thank you. My job isn't that urgent," a quiet lie, hidden behind a vaguely polite smile and raised eyebrows. He was good at that; white lies that didn't matter to others. "I appreciate the thought, though. I should be done soon."
There was no doubt that Finn was a patient man who could do things that required great patience; stakeouts were, perhaps, one of his biggest strengths. He didn't enjoy it - who enjoyed waiting? - but he was good at it. He was quiet and calm and that made him good at staying undercover, too. He'd stayed undercover in a witch coven, before; it wasn't exactly hard to blend into those without heightened senses. He liked the more active jobs, admittedly - tracking down an angry lone wolf, or fighting a cool demon on top of some dying building. Those things were fun and dramatic. Overly dramatic, he had to admit; some of the older creatures wanted him to at least play the part of an ancient, noble hunter. Dressing up was always fun, though, and so he didn't mind. His job was like fun and games to those who didn't know how dangerous it was.
He finally finished his coffee and stood up, adjusting his jacket and glancing Pierce over once, before shrugging and gesturing to the door.
"Lead the way," there was, perhaps, a vague amusement in his tone - near impossible to pick up, but he could hear it in himself. Finn hooked his thumbs through his belt loops and tilted his head to the side. It didn't make sense for him to lead, and to be honest, he doubted they would get attacked. Not yet, at least; so there was no need for him to lead.

Once this guy said that he would wait, that this wasn't important Pierce just wanted to scream. He wasn't the patient type, he liked answers and solutions immediately, so when the other man just glanced down at his coffee and said he'd wait his features scrunched up a little in displeasure. He said nothing, though. Instead he just kept his head down, watching this guy carefully, waiting for the moment he was done with his coffee so they could go already. He nibbled on his lip a little, not understanding how anyone could just ask around about something suspicious and then just sit, drinking coffee like something suspicious wasn't going on. Frankly he didn't get this guy, but tried his best to be patient, dropped his head in his arms again, long fingers drumming against the surface of the counter.
"So... what's your name? Or if you don't want that out what can I call you? It just can't be strong and silent dude, or creepy guy who just showed up out of nowhere. You have to have some kind of name... or nickname. Or something, right? I go by Pierce. " and he was rambling... again. Man, Pierce really needed to stop doing that. He was even annoying in his own ears. But he couldn't, not when he was impatient or nervous, so he just started babbling and it was kinda awkward but he didn't mind.
The moment that this guy stopped drinking and said lead the way he practically leapt to his feet, excitement in his eyes. Finally hencould get some answers, be of use in something cool like a police investigation. Now they'd have to leave him alone, right? He supposed that he didn't mind most of the people in the station, it was mostly Rocco that made him antsy, but still. He just wanted to live his life, he wasn't hurting anyone anyways. Maybe this was his in, plus he just really wanted to know what was going on.
"Right. I'll lead the way. Because you've never been here before. It's actually pretty close to here, maybe seven or eight minutes away on foot? It's across the street from the gas station and man do they have the best donuts there..." he continued on with that nervous chatter as he stepped out into the cold, shivering for a moment before leading the way.
He was definitely suspicious, this guy. Honestly if he were sane he wouldn't have offered to help- what if this guy was the killer? But Pierce was too curious and rash to think things through that far. So that's how he ended up leading him to the park, chattering on happily and looking on at the quickly darkening sky. By the time they were there the sun would have completely set and it would be night out- his favorite time of the day.

"I'm not creepy," a small frown flitted over Finn's features as he glanced back at Pierce, one eyebrow raised. "There are towns outside of this place, you know? Just because I appeared when only a certain group of people excepted me doesn't mean I came out of nowhere."
He zipped up his leather jacket and shoved his hands in his pocket as he moved from his seat. The coffee was going to keep him up through the night, and he was going to be led to the park; both things were good, but his face remained neutral. Instead, he shook his head a little. He didn't want to just give out his name, but he didn't want some stupid nickname to be put on him.
"You can call me Seong," he said firmly.
To be honest, it was no surprise that the kid seemed to have a need to talk. He exhaled slowly and followed quietly, keeping a brisk pace. He took the duration of the walk to memorise the route; it was easy enough to find the diner, so if he needed to come back again on another day, he could have the information filed away in his head. In a situation like this, he knew his memory wouldn't fail him. Though it wasn't particularly impressive, being able to memorise various routes through towns and cities and even forests was something of a skill he'd picked up. A damned useful one, too.
Finn glanced to the sky - the rising moon now replacing the setting sun - and frowned. They would probably be coming out soon. He absently checked his pocket; he didn't have a stake or anything, but hey, he had holy water. That would do. He absently checked his necklace to make sure it was there, before moving past Pierce.
"Thank you for showing me here," there was something in his tone; perhaps tension.

(Tbh I just have it down to a science at this point because there was awhile where I was 90 percent on mobile and I typically stick with semi-lit to lit role-plays so I had to learn xD)
Pierce paused at the frown, realizing that had slipped out of his mouth. Well f.uck, he probably just screwed up any chances of helping with this, then. He didn't mean it like that- it was just he was quiet. It weirded Pierce out just a little, because he was used to surrounding himself with chatterboxes. Plus the first time they met he threatened to arrest him then said that he was just joking. Then he popped up again at the place he worked out- coincidence? Most likely. But Pierce was a paranoid kid, plus one who definitely believed in fate, so he was convinced that something was going to happen.
"Oh- uh, sorry dude. Didn't mean to call you creepy, I don't think that you're creepy like that. It's just you showed up with the murder and it kinda has a weird vibe. Not you , the situation..:." He tried to explain, features scrunching up a little in the attempts to save himself from this situation. He really needed to learn how to keep his mouth shut. He shoved his hands into the pockets of his own jacket- one that was thin and torn from many years of use. It was black, and sewed up in the places that cold be repaired. For him it worked though, so he wan't going to waste his money on getting a new one.
He paused when he was told what he could call the guy. He had a feeling this wasn't his first name, the way that he said his name. That was fine by him- Pierce wasn't his real name, either. It was just what he went by now, his old name making him cringe whenever he heard it, even if they were talking about someone else. It had too may bad memories attached to it- plus he didn't like the idea of strangers knowing who he actually was. So he changed his name to Pierce, he thought it fit him more anyways.
"Seong. Got it. I'll remember it. I'm good with names. No nicknames for you, I take it?" He tried to make a joke out of it, chuckling a little to himself and scratching the back of his neck in some form of embarrassment.
He shivered a little now that it was getting dark out, mapping out his way back to the apartment he lived in. He could probably make it back home with minimal problems, if he was quick about it. He could tell by the dismissive tone that the other wanted him to leave, which made him think it was fine to do so. But there was still something that forced him to pause. What did he want with this place, exactly?
"What are you looking for? I might be able to help. I hang out around here a sh.it ton." He asked, following Seong quickly. He was like a puppy, sticking close to the thing that it knew most. Besides the fact that they had met today and he didn't trust him at all. He did have that curiosity in his eyes, though, and it was clear he wasn't going to give this one up that easily.

[ ahha i see. i never learned bc a) im lazy and b) laptop's always been faster. i can do short mobile responses but that's usually my limit ]
When Pierce stumbled over an explanation for the creepy comment - well, Finn stayed silent. Naturally. So, I'm suspicious to a local, he thought idly - or, perhaps, this kid was paranoid. He wasn't quite sure which it was, but from the sounds of it, it was probable that he was 'creepy' because he was seen as a cop, or something alike that. Troublemakers were often wary of Finn; he had the sort of vibe about him, he supposed. Always turned up when trouble was at it's worst, and always left without a trace.
He supposed it was fair to be suspicious of him; but most people didn't mind his silence. He had always been more of a listener than a talker, and that had carried into adulthood.
"No nicknames," he confirmed, glancing to Pierce from the corner of his eye. "You can't make a nickname out of Seong, anyway."
What a weird kid. Content with leaving him behind, he began to walk ahead - and then he was spoken to again. A soft sigh escaped Finn's lips and he stopped in his tracks, turning to glance at the other. Like a dog, he mused, and shook his head.
"I'm just going to talk to someone," for someone who hadn't known where the park was before, he was fairly firm in his words, as if this had been his plan all along. Technically, it had been; the mention of the 'night shift people' and this park had sparked a realisation in him. "Boring things, mostly. Just general questions. I'm not really looking for anything in particular."

(ahaha yeah that's understandable.)
Pierce wrinkled his nose a little bit when he was told that there was no way that he make a nickname out of Seong. "Bet. I . Could. Lets see... there's song.. or cancion, although that's a little long, now isn't it?" The way the Spanish word flowed off his tongue gave a hint to his heritage, his mothers side was Peruvian, but he continued on trying to figure out a name for him. "Fuzz would be a good nickname too." He said thoughtfully, kicking a stone as he plodding along.
There was no way that he'd be getting rid of Pierce that easily. Sure, he was definitely a weird kid, that was something that even he wouldn't deny. He was also snoopy, and weird and snoopy usually didn't mix well. Like right now, where he determinedly followed this Seong guy around, a stubborn glint in his eye.
"Well you're gonna need me if you wanna talk to them. You clearly look like a cop- and hey, I know they're the night shifters and sh.it but anyone would wanna run if a cop was walking towards them at night. So let me come with so they won't run or somethin'. Plus I could help, I know where they are and stuff." He added eagerly, clearly not planning on leaving any time soon. He sped up a little, just so they were walking side by side. He turned a little to the left, knowing that they would be close to the playground like they always were. The guys would stay near the kids getting high- probably making sure there wasn't any overdoses.

"Don't give me a nickname," he said sharply.
Finn did not want a nickname. His surname was enough to go by. He didn't think that they were cool, and he'd had plenty of nicknames in the past; none of them had fit, and none of the ones this kid was suggesting fit, either. One of them was even just his surname; it wasn't anything special. He pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled slowly, flicking his gaze over the park. It seemed like the sort of place vampires would hang out, he supposed; it had some sort of vibe to it, but beyond that, if it was a stoner park, then that meant the blood the vampires were drinking was...probably highly addictive. It made sense, but that didn't mean they'd get away with the hidden laws they were breaking.
At the mention of him looking like a cop, he raised an eyebrow and glanced down at himself. Torn skinny jeans? A graphic tee? A biker's jacket? Piercings? Sure, Jan.
"I don't look like a cop," he shook his head slowly. "Unless you're f*cking blind. And I'm not a cop, anyway."
Really, he'd never been told things like that before. Most cops were suspicious of him; some short, edgy man walking over and somehow having access to this? It was a weird occurrence. Most of them assumed he was some mob boss' lackey or they assumed he was a rich kid with too many permissions. His role wasn't a formal one, was well-hidden behind a badge that got him where he needed to be. Being told he looked like a cop, however, was perhaps stranger than the things he faced on a semi-regular basis.
"I also don't need your help finding them, but whatever," he shrugged lightly. "I guess you can come, just don't interrupt, alright? I really don't need help speaking to them; they know why I'm here and if they have any sense, then they will talk to me."
He'd forgotten, really, what normal humans were like. Not to say he wasn't a normal human; but he'd been wrapped up in this for so long that interacting with humans? Completely beyond him. He'd never been the social type before, so he supposed that forgetting to practice speaking to them was just a thing that he'd neglected. Maybe he was coming off as rude. He was probably coming off as rude. Awesome. He didn't care enough to apologise, but he supposed it was enough that the thought flitted over his mind.

Pierce simply raised his hands a little at the sharp comment. He didn't flinch, though. Instead he simply blinked at the other man and gave a shrug, not bothered by it. He'd been snapped at one too many times to take this personally. So he just continued on walking, blinking slowly as his eyes adjusted to the dark park.
In his eyes Seong definitely looked like a cop- it didn't matter that he had piercings, torn skinny jeans or that bikers jacket. It was the aura that the guy had that made him suspicious. But he didn't know if he could explain that, whenever he tried to people laughed him off. He wasn't good with describing feelings, or anything that he perceived himself. Sure, when he was nervous he chattered on and on and on, but usually what he said was nonsense, or had no meaning.
"Don't matter that you don't look like one. You got that aura- the whole "I put the baddies away" kinda thing." Pierce insisted, although his cheeks had darkened a little at the description. He clearly knew that what he was saying didn't make total sense, but he didn't like the thought of being called blind. SO he kept on talking, his words flowing out because he was just as nervous. His shoulders stiffened considerably and he looked around, looking for the guys that usually hung around here.
He rolled his eyes when he was told that he didn't need his help finding them, because he probably did. At least that's what Pierce told himself, plodding along when he was told that he could come, just not interrupt. So he grinned widely and followed along, keeping in step with him before turning a little to the left. "This way." He hummed, looking almost smug as he said this.

Maybe it was useful to have the perspective of someone he'd never met before, someone from a small town who happened to be a troublemaker; but to be honest, Finn wasn't taking this too much to heart. Sometimes, it was just...somewhat useful to have an understanding of what different types of people thought of him. He knew that he came off as dangerous to some - as he should! He could be a dangerous man.
"I see." this time, his tone was dry. "Thanks for telling me, but I'm still not a cop. Sorry to disappoint."
He pulled out his phone and glanced at it - he had a few messages, but nothing that couldn't wait. He took a few more moments to glance at the time before he shoved it back into his pocket and continued along his path. His intentions were to...not quite patrol, but explore. Figure out the park a little before the vampires decided to come out to play; though he didn't know when they would. He had no doubt that they'd come - especially if they knew why he was here.
"...Why?" he glanced to the other man and raised an eyebrow. "I'm not looking for stoners, so I don't need to find out where they hang out. I just want to get my bearings."

"Well, then what are you, exactly? I mean you showed up with the cops, you threatened to arrest me... so if you aren't some cop or government agent, what are you?" He insisted, genuinely wanting to know. He couldn't keep the suspicion out of his eyes, either, at that. What if this guy actually was the killer? He could be pretty dangerous, and Pierce was stupid enough to actually walk around with him, at night, with no one around. Maybe his father was right- he did have a death wish. He swallowed down his panic and continued on the path, chewing on his lip a little now with anxiety.
He only paused at the question, his cheeks darkening when the other said he wasn't looking for stoners. He looked away at that, unsure what the other man wanted, exactly. He thought that the other wanted to ask some questions, and he had to be quiet for them. He hadn't realized that he just wanted to get his bearings- wow now that was pretty embarrassing. He stood there, shifting from one foot to theater, trying to figure out a good way to talk himself out of this horrifyingly embarrassing situation.
"U-uhm... Sorry, I thought you said you wanted to talk to the night shifters- they hang around the stoners, too. Personally I think it's because sometimes they use stronger stuff then weed, and the people who work at the hospital want to be close just in case there's an over dose. You know, to save them?" He explained, looking rather sheepish as he kicked another rock and looked around at the park. If he was ever there alone this place really freaked him out. Sure, if he was hanging around here with his buddies then it was alright, but he usually wouldn't come here willingly with just one other person. He always found safety in numbers, after all.
(Woohoo! Also, yeah, same here. )

[ i feel like a god among men except i have a headache so also not really ]
The question was a good one and though he preferred not to tell the truth, he didn't quite want to outright lie. Finn considered it and weighed the options in his mind for a moment, rocking back on his feet and tilting his head back.
"I investigate things of a suspicious nature that the cops don't know about," he said, after a few moments. Maybe this would scare off this kid, and if it didn't? Then he either had a believer (which meant maybe he'd listen) or he had someone who didn't care about survivor (which was one of the worst things). "Not FBI, not CIA. Well," he squinted. "Not quite, at least. I work with other things - humans are not exactly my forte."
Maybe he'd be mistaken for talking about animal attacks. Hm.
"Not animal control," he stated firmly. "Not animals. Not normal animals," he wrinkled his nose. Sh*t, he was bad at this explaining thing. There went his cool image, or whatever.
He flicked his gaze down to where Pierce had been leading him, then flicked his gaze back and blinked owlishly, as if he was processing what was being said to him. Then, it clicked. He gave a little oh and shook his head, gesturing to the path.
"Never mind, then. Lead the way," they were not there for overdoses. That was smart, these vampires were smart, even when they were drugged up. A little sad, but...well. It was just how life went, and they'd have to deal with the consequences (namely: his holy water in their mouth if they didn't behave themselves and listen to him).

(Oh yikes, hopefully you get better soon!)
Pierce watched the man, who was clearly trying to decide what he should tell Pierce, and waited expectantly. He could be quite the patient man when he wanted to be, and there was definitely that stubborn glint in his eye that told anyone and everyone that he was, in fact, determined to get the information out of him one way or another. That being bugging this guy until he heard the truth.
His eyes squinted when the man- Seong- explained that he was there to investigate suspicious behavior. Well, what did that mean? Did he investigate serial killers or something? He honestly couldn't figure that one out and he puffed out his cheeks a little in annoyance because of it. He just wanted to know what this guy did for a living, and he was about to continue asking questions when the guy talked even more, but what he said only further confused Pierce. So, he didn't work with humans? Was he some kind of pest control, then?
"Uh... Are you pest control then?" He voiced his question, eyes blank and proving that what Seong had said made absolutely zero sense to the guy. He was trying to figure it out while Seong was trying to figure out what Pierce was saying, but unfortunately Seong seemed to connect something together faster than Pierce did and told him to lead the way. With a small shrug and a nod he did, gesturing down the path.
"Usually the stoners hang out near the playground set, admittedly it's pretty fun to mess around there while high, and the other people just hang around the tables... What do you mean by not normal animals?" He asked, features squinting again as he slowed down, wanting some answers before he led the other to their hang out spot. He wanted to make sure it was safe to bring him there before he did anything rash.

[ thank you! i might end up napping but we'll see ]
"Not pest control."
Maybe he hadn't worded anything right. Well, he had said that humans weren't his forte; when he was trying to be subtle about something, it usually meant coming off as the anti-social sort. Well. He was an introvert, and he wasn't particularly good at interacting with people as a whole - but hey, that was just how he was. Humans were f**king hard to deal with and they always got offended when he didn't understand half of the sh*t they said, so it was usually harder to deal with them than it was to deal with some raging werewolf who just needed to take five minutes to chill.
"Alright," Finn frowned a little as he followed. He'd admit that he'd done drugs when he'd been younger, when he'd been a college student with too much stress - so it was hypocritical to dislike it. He didn't! He just didn't like the troublemakers and, from the sound of it, the stoners here were that sort. "Not normal animals as in, uh," he made a little gesture. "Just...things you don't see on a daily basis. Not like your average wild animals." he shrugged.
It was difficult to explain without saying oh yeah, I deal with vampires and werewolves and things like that, no big deal. That wasn't exactly what he wanted to explain; he just wanted to hint at it, or something. Maybe confuse Pierce enough that he got bored. He didn't know.

(That might help x3 ) Pierce paused, looking even more confused when he was told that it wasn't pest control.
So what was wrong here? No pest control, so none of this made any sense. Maybe the guy just wasn't good at explaining things, so he wasn't going to push anymore so the guy wouldn't get uncomfortable. He wouldn't want to do that, so he walked along quietly, trying to figure out what the heck this guy did as a profession. He rubbed the back of his neck, face scrunched up a little in the way that made it clear that he was trying to figure this out, as if it were a puzzle. He let out a soft sigh, watching as smoke plumed from his lips. He could really use a smoke right now, but eh didnt' move to do anything, especially when he saw that frown on the others face.
He probably was judging him for the fact that he was a druggie, and although he'd long stopped caring, the looks always made him uncomfortable. He could practically feel the judgement and it made him just want to slink away. His shoulders hunched forward a little in an almost protective manner, only risking the smallest looks back towards the man before focusing once again on the road ahead. "Not your average wild animals." He echoed softly, before shaking his head in confusion.
He probably shounldt' be asking these questions anyways. Instead they got to the park, his voice seeming to have failed him now as he stopped and looked on slowly. "Here. They'll be here soon, once the other group gets here, which should be in a few minutes, theres already a couple." He said, nodding a little in the direction of a few barely seen figures hanging around the playground.

[ i have been busy but now i am here mostly kinda ]
Ah, he didn't get it. That was normal and as long as he wasn't superstitious, Finn doubted that Pierce would get it until he stated directly - and, quite honestly, that was not something he wanted to do. Instead, he walked in silence, gaze watchful of their surroundings. Don't want to get ambushed. He glanced behind briefly before focusing his gaze ahead; he highly doubted that the vampires were expecting anyone dangerous to come around, but hey, what did he know? Maybe they'd been in trouble with his kind before and that was why they were hiding in this little nowhere town - or maybe they were just from around here. There weren't many true vampires in America but hey, they could've been turned here. Whatever. Whatever.
"Alright," he said softly, crossing his arms and watching the figures for a moment. "I don't want to bother the group. Just the nightshifters."
That was a cool codename for the vampires. The nightshifters. Very cool. Maybe he could bring it up as a potential name for cases like this; where people didn't know what was happening. Then again, he was supposed to be quiet about this - he would've been, but he'd been pestered and, frankly, Finn wasn't good in social situations so it was easier to give up and let the kid come along than to refuse and potentially not be able to get to the park this quick.
"Do they usually come at a certain time?" as he spoke, he checked his back pocket for his cigarettes before he pulled one out and lit it, glad for some stress relief, at least. He leaned his weight onto one leg and, not for the first time in his life, felt grateful for the holy water hidden against his chest. It meant he wasn't likely to be attacked, if they had a good sense of smell.
