Mason was running as fast as his legs could carry him, darting through the forest, weaving between trees and bushes. His bad leg was aching, but he tried not to think about it too much, not until he was safe and away and out of the pack territory. Where did he plan to go? He had no idea, but as long as it was away from his "new pack" or his old one. The omega had slipped away while August had sent him to hunt with some escorts. While they were off smelling for prey, he pretended along with them, moving off slowly until he could run off without being seen. He had an excited look on his face at his time of freedom, but he didn't act too excited just yet, knowing he had to successfully escape before howling triumph, and he huffed at the thought. Everyone used to leave him alone, and now there was a pack that wanted him confined to their land. No thank you.

August continued to follow the omega's scent that he picked up. The scent got stronger as he followed it so he must be heading in the right direction. He weaved between the trees and the brush effortlessly and at a high pace. He had been there long enough that he knew his packs territory like the back of his hand. Where ever Mason would go he would follow. As long as he stayed within his territory he wouldn't be able to hide. It didn't take long for August to catch up with the omega. August was a strong alpha within his own territory and Mason was a lowly omega with a bum leg in foreign territory. August was bound yo catch up with him eventually. He let out a small growl when he saw a glimpse of the omega up ahead. He was still a little angry that he decided to run away from him after everything that has happened. He took a quick glance around before deciding to take a slightly different path so he could get ahead of Mason and cut him off. He quickly sped ahead of the omega then stepped into his path. He turned to Mason and stood his ground.

Mason kept running until he saw August up again. Skidding to a stop, he quickly glanced around, trying to think of sorbet way to go without getting lost, but he couldn't see one. Mentally groaning, he turned and slowly looked back at the alpha, curiously keeping an eye on him while also staying alert and thinking of a way out. His only bet left was to just pick another direction and hope he found a way out.

"Where do you think you're going?" August questioned the omega as he took a few steps toward him. They had already been over the subject that he had no where to go if he left. So where was he going? Why would even leave in the first place? "And don't try to run off again." he warned him. He would just catch up with him again, and he might not be so nice about it the second time around.

Mason didn't look happy. Not at all. "I'm only here because two packs can't get along." He looked back at August. Maybe he shouldn't have run off while the pack was awake? Probably when they're all asleep, or most of them at least. "I don't want to stay with either pack, cause I'm unwanted in one and an object of negotiation in the other." Sure he was an offering of peace, but that also meant he had to take a mate while in his new pack, not necessarily just become a member. And the problem was that he was just a little nervous.

August wasn't exactly in a happy mood either, but he listened to what the omega had to say. "I guess that's true, but this problem is bigger than you. Yes, you are an object of negotiation, but an object to stop blood-shed. And I'd rather not loose any more pack members than I already have. And this," he paused for a quick second, referencing to the current situation they were in. "is not fun for me either. To have to keep track of you at all times and make sure you have escorts while also taking care of other important pack duties. You're not an alpha so I guess you wouldn't understand, but the packs safety is more important to me than your feelings about the situation. I'm not even treating you unfairly, so I don't even see the point of running away." August took another pause and let out a small sigh. "Either way you are coming back to camp, whether you like it or not. And you may get some privileges revoked because of this little stunt you pulled."

"I refuse to go back," Mason said, taking a step away from August. "I don't give a sh*t about your pack, and I barely care for anyone from my own. You can always just demand another offering, someone better than me. Either way, I don't care cause I'm not staying with you." He then turned to try and leave again, his bad leg keeping his pace a little slower than a healthy appendage as he moved to run off. He wasn't just going to roll over for an alpha who hadn't had him for more than a month.

August let out a huff and rolled his eyes slightly at the omega's defiance. This omega sure was a pain. He watched the omega attempt to run off once again for a second before following after him. He easily bounded ahead of the omega and blocked his path like he did before. "I can't just demand another offering. I get one attempt at peace and that's it, that's just how those things work. So, you are coming back to camp with me whether you like it or not." He told Mason as he stood his ground, watching the omega carefully in case he decided to run again.

"I'm refuse to go back," Mason repeated with a snap. "So what if the two packs fight? I never got a say in being given to someone I don't know, and my answer would've been no." He tried to go around August, trying to insist his departure. "I'm glad that you treated me nice, but I just don't want to be symbol of peace for two groups I couldn't care less about."

August moved to block his way again. "Of course you wouldn't get a say, you're an omega." he said as he looked down at him. "Two packs fighting is a big deal, and if you leave now more members could die and their blood will be on your hands. I'm letting you leave just because you don't care. "

Mason flinched at what August said first, speaking to him as if he were dirt under his boot. Or at least that's how it felt to an omega. If he wanted to be like that, then fine. Then the alpha shouldn't care too much if a lowly omega left his pack. Mason then paused for a moment. Did he really want that blood on his hands? Should he stay? The smaller wolf simply walked around August, away from the temporary home he'd had. "I don't mind too much. After all, an omega like myself seemingly isn't worth anyone's time. Now, leave me alone."

August watched the omega carefully as he walked around him, not letting him out of his sights. He let out a huff before he turned and followed him, walking behind him. "If you weren't worth anyone's time, I wouldn't be following you right now. You are an important part of everything right now, whether you like it or not." he said as he continued to follow after him. "I'm giving you a place to stay and taking care of you, but if you want to be like this and go and try to survive on your own then go for it. And I don't think you'll do too well with that bum leg of yours."

Mason almost groaned when August continued talking to him. If he could, without losing his life, he'd throttle the alpha. He said nothing at first, just continuing to walk. After a moment or two, he spoke "I'll manage with this bum leg of mine. Come find me when you realize that I don't and will never give a crap about a feud between two packs I'll probably never care about. Or maybe, and I'm just saying this to humor you, I'll come back to you and beg for you to let me in before then."

August continued to follow behind the omega then let out a small sigh. He gave up, there was no way of changing this stubborn wolf's mind and the only way to get him back to camp would be to use brute force. And he didn't really want to do that, he didn't want to treat Mason like a prisoner. "Fine, you can leave, but are you sure that's what you want to do? As I've said before, once you leave I can't help you or protect you because you are no longer a part of my pack." he questioned, this was his one last effort to try to get him back to camp. If he didn't come back he'll let him go, and maybe check up on him again in a weeks time.

"I would've been gone a long time ago if you didn't talk as long as you have been." Mason didn't even pause as he walked, more do limped away, not even sparing August a glance back as he began to leave the area. "I can't stay there, but good luck with whatever happens. Maybe one alpha will be smart enough to relent and attempt to put an end to the feuding without a peace offering." Not that Mason cared either way though.

August eventually stopped following him and watched the omega as he walked away. "Good luck to you as well, but I hope that you rethink this decision. Farewell Mason." he said to him, this being the first time he actually spoke the omega's name. He then turned and started to walk in the direction that he came in, back towards camp. He didn't want to see the omega go, but he wasn't going to keep him prisoner. Hopefully the other alpha wouldn't find out about Mason running away, and peace could be kept just a little bit longer.

A few weeks had passed, and Mason had more or less been doing okay on his own. Sure, he was digging around dumpsters at the back of restaurants, and nabbing food from people's houses while they slept, but it was okay. He was alone, and independent, and he didn't care if he was living in crap conditions. Currently, he was sitting behind the cover of bushes, Mason munching on a squirrel he managed to catch. His bad leg prevented a lot of successful hunts, but he still tried every now and then when it got difficult to get people food. Settled quietly, he ate in silence as he listened to the occasional person or people moving about the forested park he was in. Briefly did he wonder about the two packs, but he didn't have any concern for them. He wondered if his father had found out that he'd left yet.

It has been a few weeks since August has let the omega go. Things have been going pretty okay back at the camp, and August had time to focus on more important things rather than babysit the other wolf all the time. So far the other pack has not found out about Mason's disappearance and peace was being kept so far. Yet he already knew some rumors were starting to go around, and he knew this peace was not going to last forever. Right now he was going to go and try to find the omega again, see if he is doing alright and seeing if he changed his mind. He doesn't particularly know why, but he cares about the omega whether he likes it or not. He went back to the place where the two parted ways, he couldn't really pick up a scent, but he was determined to find the other wolf again. So he started to wander around, going off in the direction that Mason went off in, trying to find a scent and find him.

Mason decided to take a nap after eating. He rested his brown furry head on his paws, eyes drooping as he dozed off without a care in the world. Despite the less-than-great living conditions, he was happy. No one glaring at him, giving him orders or bullying him. He exhaled softly in content, eyes finally closing as he fell asleep behind the bushes, not worried about being found by anyone.

August eventually found a scent, it was stale and Mason hadn't been there in awhile, but it was scent nonetheless. He then started to follow it, keeping track of where he was going as he made his way through the forest. He didn't particularly like going toward the more human populated areas, but he did it regardless, making sure to shift back to his human form in any areas where he could be seen. Eventually he found himself at the park where Mason was currently, he had gone kind of far away from where the packs were, but not far enough that he couldn't find him. He started to make his way into the park and feeling more comfortable in the cover of the trees in the forested park he shifted back into his wolf form as he wandered around following Mason's scent trying to find him. It wasn't too long before he found him, taking a nap in the cover of some bushes. He was conflicted if he wanted to wake him up or not.

For once, Mason looked peaceful. His head resting on his paws, body laid out lazily with his back rising and falling gently. He would fidget in his sleep every now and then though, as if something were bothering him. Perhaps he sensed August in his sleep. His bad leg was stuck out from his body, and it would twitch as if he were trying to walk. Then, a moment or two later, his eyes opened. At first, he didn't realize who was watching him. Mason had to wake up a little more before he registered it was August. His ears flattened, and he scrambled to his feet, looking around quickly to make sure that no one else was there.

(sorry for the bit of delay in response, school has been keeping me busy)
August watched the peaceful wolf for a moment. He seemed happier sleeping here in this park than he ever did when he was back at the camp. Maybe he should have let him leave sooner... He focused back on Mason when he started to wake up and watched up as he quickly got up upon seeing him. "No need to be alarmed, it's just me." he said to him, trying to calm down his concerns. "I thought I'd come and check up on you, see how your doing on your own." he added. He didn't really have any other good reason for coming here other than that he wanted to see him. Mason probably didn't want to see him though.

"I don't need you checking up on me," Mason growled softly, turning his back to August "I'm perfectly able to take care of myself." That was more or less true, but the omega thought he himself was doing okay. An ear twitched, and he moved to start walking. Walking away from the alpha. "I'm fine. You can go home now, okay?" He wanted to say that he didn't want to see August, but if Mason said that, he'd be lying. Sure, the he didn't yet want to admit it, but he sort of missed him, if even a little. Snorting at the thought, he sped up his pace a bit.
