Honestly, the books need to end soon. This all sounds just so...lifeless. It is incredibly difficult to continue the style of writing another person does, and a whole team of them just using the 'Hunter' moniker...that's just profiting off this book series at this point. I'm glad I decided to stop reading after TLH. What I've been shown since then is continuing disappointment.

Unpopular opinion: I'm not too fond of Violetshine's name. I don't know why. I just don't like it, but it could be worse. I personally think that it's very pretty. She was named in honor of her mother and because of the brightness of her spirit.

I don't know why. Just something about those names are unappealing to me

I love Violetshine's name. I think it's very sweet how she was named in memory of her mother, honestly.
As for the rest of the book, it sounds interesting. Can't wait to read it myself!

I honestly haven't been reading the books since The Forgotten Warrior, but I enjoy hearing about them.

Pixie My favorite scene was probably the Hollyleaf/Leafpool mini reunion. I missed Hollyleaf and was wondering when she'd appear again. Still salty about her death 5 years later. Saddest scene is probably Violetshine's dream of Needletail early on in the book where Needletail says she "left her" or something like that.

All in all, I enjoyed Darkest Night more than Shattered Sky. It's my favorite book of this arc, and I can't wait to see what River of Fire brings to the table. Hopefully some RiverClan stuff. But it is likely referring to Firestar's kin as always.

I'll probably give a review after reading the book for myself, but here are my thoughts from reading the summary. Hope you enjoy my commentary. 1) GO HARESTAR! 2) I'm not surprised by SparkxLark 3) Glad they address the whole "Ivypool having kits" thing while still keeping her in character 4) Violetpaw caused a car crash. 😐 5) Great to see Cherrytail and Cloudmist again 6) Also, Barley is the new Purdy 7) I get where Sandynose is coming from, but he still doesn't have to be so harsh. 8) Nettlesplash, Mintfur, and their kits return as well. 9) Gravel, Necter, and Pale I get, but why Fringe? 10) Twigpaw, focus on your training! You and Finpaw already have enough cute moments as it is. 11) Berrynose better be Finpaw's mentor after he joins ThunderClan. 12) The cats with pop culture references return 13) Thank goodness the Alderheart-Sparkpelt issue was resolved in one book. 14) Okay, exactly how high up was Frecklewish? 15) Hollyleaf gets another sweet moment with Leafpool, yet still nothing between her and Squirrelflight. 16) No one one being surprised by TigerxDove is not surprising 17) Random rockslide is random 18) Oh, so Needletail IS a wandering spirit like I thought, then. Interesting, though I wish they had introduced this concept sooner, especially for a certain gray cat whose prefix rhymes with trash. 19) TreexViolet? Uhhhhh...? 😐 20) Tree's the six-toed cat? That wasn't surprising at all. 21) Great that Twigpaw's fickleness is addressed 22) Violetshine is my new favorite name! 23) "I see dead people."—Tree at one point, probably 24) Needletail doesn't blame Violetshine and still thinks of her as a sister. That's sweet. 25) Rowanclaw, you idiot! Have you learned nothing from Darktail? You'd think he'd at least heed their warning more than he did Onestar's, considering these are actual spirits this time.

This book sounds really promising. I really like Twig x Fin, and the idea of Spark x Lark is pretty interesting lol. I'd like to see their interactions myself first.
I also love the whole thing with Fernsong and Ivypool; their relationship is perfect. Harestar is also proving to be a very great leader! I definitely love him already. Rowanclaw is such a failure omg. Tree flirting with Violetpaw is a bit...uhhh. I also love the little interaction between her and Needletail, it was sweet <3

Saddest scene is probably Violetshine's dream of Needletail early on in the book where Needletail says she "left her" or something like that. Dang. I'm disappointed that we got this interaction with Leafpool and Hollyleaf, but not Hollyleaf and Jayfeather I would've liked to see them talk in StarClan... Okay, Thought Process While Reading Summary:I think the book sounds good! Finpaw and Twigpaw are very cute, especially with the later scenes of them hanging out together. It's got Romeo and Juliet vibes, without the...you know, stupidity of cross-Clan and either dying. The trope of "father dislikes daughter's boyfriend" is switched to replace daughter with son, which makes it more adorable. We're getting wayyyyyy more interactions here than usual for a future couple, which holy crap, makes me so happy! Usually it's one glance between characters and then it's like, "Omg! I love him! You can't tell me to stay away! He loves me and I love him! StarClan is meant for us to be together! It's written in the stars! You can't keep us apart!" after a single interaction I don't like that she dismissed Alderheart so quickly... what is with her doing that for the past two books? It was understandable at first, being worried about her sister sometimes and distracted by thoughts of who her family is, but now? For a boy? She's such a teenager lol Alderheart's "daughter" is really growing up. But it seriously sounds awesome to me. You can tell that Rowanstar is still really struggling, seeing how quick he was to try to insist SkyClan didn't belong. He's really clutching at straws lol And what is with the whole 'closing borders' thing now? Gosh. It's getting used a bit too often for my liking. That border patrol refusing to let the patrol talk to Mothwing, Willowshine, and Mistystar, however, is going a little too far to me. "Ivypool is worried that they think [Dovewing's] a traitor." ...Because she is? Haha. She had visions of how unsafe ThunderClan's nursery is and told nobody lol that isn't to mention having the ShadowClan deputy's kits, having met with him in secret, etc. Legit nobody was surprised that Dovewing disappeared, and once they knew Tigerheart was gone, too...gasp! I wonder what happened? I find it interesting that Twigpaw feels she has respect in ThunderClan! This means that she knows what she has there, but it took going to SkyClan to see that, and figuring out where she wants to be. Hopefully this means she'll stop obsessing over her family and not keep thinking how kin is far more important than those who raised her. That was one of my only quarrels with her. I know a lot of people that are adopted who feel that way, which is why I didn't let it bother me; everyone wants to feel that they belong! At the very least, it'd make sense that she wanted to see her roots. I'm glad we get to see missing scenes, that were spoken about in Tigerheart's Shadow! Like the fight between Scorchfur and Tawnypelt, Tigerheart and Dovewing meeting, ShadowClan and SkyClan dispute over prey, etc. It's filling in the gaps nicely, from what I can tell. RiverClan missing the next Gathering is stupid, if that was intentional, and I think it was, if we draw back on when Mistystar said that would be the last Gathering that RiverClan attends for a while. There used to be a time when missing the Gathering used to make leaders feel very anxious, because it's decreed by the warrior code that all the Clans gather in peace. Not doing your best to get to the Gathering used to be felt as though there'd be repercussions and get StarClan's disapproval. Mistystar lived in that time, too, which makes it even weirder...it makes me feel so disconnected from the times that the Clancats live in now. It seems like half the rules of the warrior code may as well be thrown out, since they're rapidly being spurned several times over. Twigpaw leaving SkyClan during her ceremony made me laugh. I can just imagine how irritated Leafstar was, when she was all, " Really? Right now???" and looking so miffed. Bramblestar being hesitant to accept Twigpaw and Finpaw seems realistic; I'm glad that he didn't automatically say, "Oh, yeah! C'mon board!" I wonder if Twigpaw will face distrust from the ThunderClan cats now? :/ I wouldn't be surprised, nor could I even get indignant on her behalf. She's very wishy-washy. Since she also had her assessment before she left, that makes me think maybe she'll get her warrior name in River of Fire...I doubt it'll be in the beginning, but maybe it will? I hope so. I really want to know her full name! The ending with the lake sounds anticlimactic, but so did the end of Shattered Sky before I read it, so hopefully it'll prove me wrong :')

I'm just gonna say this: holy heck, Violetpaw caused a car crash!
To be serious, though, Harestar seems to be a good replacement of Onestar. Even if he trained in the Dark Forest in the past, he's made up for it then, and I can't wait to see more of him as a leader.

Harestar is my child. Right next to Littlecloud, Berrynose, Ivypool and Tawnypelt. Protect this leader for life. I want a long leadership i s2g
27535544455665 percent agreement that Finpaw should be mentored by Berrynose. If he isn't, I'm going to be furious. He'll probably end up getting crusty Lionblaze or something. Guh.
Ivyfern makes me jump for joy, my crops are watered and my acne is cleared.
I feel so freakin bad for Rowanstar and all the crap he got put through. It's so unbelievebly unfair that a tom who has been loyal to Shadowclan and what it stands for will be replaced by a cat who's broken the code and nobody seems to care. Thrown under the bus, and it makes me sad.

I officially ship Twigpaw and Finpaw and I'm mad at Sandynose. Twigpaw doesn't have the same bond with Sandynose as she did with Ivypool. Sandynose never really believed that Twigpaw was a loyal SkyClan cat. He was even noted to be glaring at her at the gathering just to make sure she doesn't go talking to ThunderClan. (Twigpaw wanted to tell Lilyheart how sorry she was about Snowbush) and he also told Twigpaw to stay away from Finpaw. Practically told her to break Finpaw's spirit because he needed to concentrate with his training. Finpaw went to talk to Twigpaw at one point and Sandynose was watching. She told Finpaw what his father had told her and Finpaw believed that it was because Sandynose was disappointed in him and that he would never be the great warrior he wanted him to be. (Finpaw lost a part of his tail after a tree branch fell on it. They had to cut part of his tail off). When Finpaw left. Sandynose thought it meant that Twigpaw had gotten him to leave. Not really. So Sandynose is a crappy mentor, on top of being a crappy father, wow.
