1. Who You Fear
2. Don't Let Me Drown
3. Burning
4. Blood Sacrafice
I am who to fear.
But she doesn’t understand that.
She sees her lost lover in my eyes, my hair, my gait…anything and everything that resembles the physical presence of my daughter. It tricks her to see goodness. To see warmth and wisdom; the sun that my daughter carried inside of her breast.
But she doesn’t know.
She doesn’t know that I am ruthless, merciless, and unapologetic of my actions. I am the hunter under the new moon when the forest is a prism of shadows. I am the pile of still burning embers after a fire. I am the unknown destruction that she so fears.
If my daughter carried the sun, then I will carry darkness.
But she will never know.
She will never know what I am. She will only know who.
And that will be just enough to use her weakness as my strength, because her weakness is also mine…and it needs to be eradicated.
I am who she must fear, if she wishes to come out of the shadows of the forest and into the sun…and be with my daughter again.
I have forsaken such hopes.
I do not fear death or this destruction that she and I will bring about.
But it will be beautiful.
And I will smile.

2. Don't Let Me Drown
They let her die.
They are to blame.
They were ignorant enough to ignore the signs, to ignore the ancient power that twists and strains and begs to be released inside of that girl. The power that has awakened this retched forest from its peaceful slumber.
They have taken my daughter from me.
They let her body be mutilated by that power; be stained by it.
They ruined her.
And now I am drowning.
Drowning in the sorrow and the anger and the pain and the regret.
For if I had never been a mother, she would still be here.
For if I had never been a mother, she would never have refused to come home.
For if I had never been a mother…
I would have never let her go.

3. Burning
They think they can hold back the forest with their cannons of fire.
What fools!
Even I, the one who will destroy this retched world, know to never underestimate the power residing in the very soil of this forest.
Fire can only hold it back for so long. The Kalmera trees will heal and grow within hours of being burned. Their limbs will twist and grow together, creating stronger and stronger branches until they can reach the walls once more and pluck helpless guards from the walls.
I admire the forest’s longevity, but only one of us can remain once I get what I came to this pathetic city for.
I know my methods will be met with flame, but like the trees, I will only grow stronger. I will overwhelm any in my path.
I will make a world that my daughter and son can live in safely.
I will make a world without fire.

4. Blood Sacrafice
My blood…my future…my daughter.
Your death was needed. I see that now.
It has opened my eyes to the fallacy of this world.
Fae hide in their cities behind giant walls, while the savage Kalmerans in the villages live by the strength of their abilities alone. These forest-dwellers are the majority…so few of us now carry true human-like qualities and wield awe-inspiring magic. Powers that prove we can live without the choking canopy of the forest.
Yet, there are still hidden cities and strongholds who live as one with the forest…Kalmerans who believe the forest is the paradise that we must protect and treasure. Clearly they have not seen the destruction and death and pain that this monstrous green creature can bring.
They say the god-human will come again, and bring us to the true forest of dreams.
Idiots. Blind, ignorant idiots!
The blood of my daughter will not sate this forest, so I will give it more.
I will give it more until it is sated…until the beast under the surface has been calmed.
And then I will strike.
