( Most people eat when they get home from work. I've never heard of smoked sausage stew but it sounds absolutely delicious. ) Flamesoul stared out in the direction of the commotion, feeling his fur bristle. Flurryheart shut her eyes in a moment of mourning when she heard that a cat had been lost, but she quickly opened them again. Hollowpaw no longer looked very calm. Her fur was standing on end and her claws were dug into the ground almost as if to keep her from running away. This was her first battle, and hearing that a cat had already died made her blood run cold.

(*Looks out window checking to make sure no one is there* if you say so! XD)
Zincclaw whispered, not really wanting to even say this, "Make that two..." Cats were running down The Rocks, back towards shore. Winged cats were up in the sky, gliding along the water, feet skimming the surface as they raced to the beach. As the shark got closer, they could see the shark's fin above water. Darknight waited until they were close enough, then let out, "ATTACK!" The first cats to lurch forward in the water were Heatherpelt, Sharktooth, Lightningbolt, Blizzardtail and Violetbreeze. The lone she-cat of the firstwave used her power to teleport behind the shark, and the four toms splashed into the deeper waters; the shark was not in shallow enough water yet. Lightningbolt jumped for the fish, missing and falling short, bolting out of the way, sloshing through the water as the shark's teeth went for the tom, grasping only fur. When the shark thrashed back the other direction, it managed to hit Heatherpelt hard with it's tail, but what was more frightening was that when the shark turned, Blizzardtail was directly in it's way, and the shark bit down hard on the tom; half of him was gone in a short instance, and he was dead. Blood filled the waters around them, but the attack continued.

(this is an interesting conversation you two are having ) (are the cats going in waves, or all at once? Sorry if you mentioned this above) Breezepaw glanced at Zincclaw, the fear suddenly sinking in as she heard about the death. She remembered how she couldn't wait for the battle to start; now she wished it would end, hopefully with her alive. She licked her paw - not to groom it, but because it was comforting somehow. She hoped the shark didn't bite her head off while she was grooming. "When are we going..." Breezepaw's voice trailed off as she stared at the battle. Her heart lurched as blood suddenly filled the waters; however she couldn't see who it was. She began grooming her other paw.

(Yes, yes it is. XD I didn't mention it you're all good! Nah they can all attack at once, where/when able, it's just that those cats were closest. Cloudwhisker helped find the cat, can with Ravenfall, witnessed Fallensky and Saltpaw get eaten alive; Fallensky was trying to lift Saltpaw out of the water, realizing that the shark was going for her, and was unable to get out in time. So they both died.)
Ravenfall had tears in her eyes, but tried to clear them, flying above and swooping down on the shark, claws extended; she swipped along it's back as it was distracted with the cats on the ground. "Let's dig our claws in, all of us-" she spoke of the winged cats, "and see how far we can drag it closer to the beach." Surely it wouldn't be more than a few feet, but that would be close enough in the shallows to make it more difficult to move, and easier for the cats to attack.

Flurryheart held back. "It isn't close enough yet!" Her cry was drowned out as the cats rushed past her. Inkshade rushed into the water with the other Upper camp cats, realizing their mistake as soon as she hit the water, but it was too late to turn back. She swam toward the shark, hoping to get close enough to slash at it without it noticing her or at least distract it long enough for someone else to. As Flamesoul heard his camp leader yowl the attack, he lunged forward.

Brightpaw swam easily; she noticed plenty of cats were struggling though; the shark had it easy, with plenty of room to move and swim, not in shallow enough water yet. What could they possibly do though? It certainly wouldn't follow them any closer to the beach now, knowing they were fighting back. What if it got away? Cats lives would have been lost for nothing.
Ravenfall dived down through the air, towards the shark. "GET BACK!" she screamed to the cats below; it should be distracted enough to give them a chance to hook their claws into it...

Flamesoul swam beside Brightpaw, keeping pace with her, though he struggled some. He tried not to pay attention to the color of the water, but found himself having to push away his squeamishness.
Inkshade glanced up as she heard Ravenfall's meow. She began back-peddling in the water, trying to move away, but an undercurrent created by the shark's tail dragged her down into the water and right up to the shark's gills...

Hai))
Delphapool lunged into the water, only to gag when Blizzardtail was bitten in halfshe had never seen a shark before, and it scared her. She shook her head, trying to clear what she just witnessed, before swimming towards the shark, hoping for the best. Worry made her stomach empty, giving her chills that something bad might happen. If she could atleast get a good slash at it....
Falconfeather watched Ravenfall dive towards the shark. He was quite worried for her that something bad might happen. He hovered up int the air, hoping for the best. If only he could fly as well as shoot ice at the shark. If only he could eliminate the shark in seconds time. He thought of things he could do.

(Sorry for the poor last night! I just passed out I was so tired lol)
Oaktree was suddenly beside Delphapool. "Watch out!" he called to the young warrior as a wave crashed into them; he had just enough to time to block her. He turned to her. "You okay?" he questioned over the roar of battle. The waves were strong, the thrashing of the shark and cats loud. "Let's go now!" Ravenfall called to all the winged cats. "Hook your claws into it and fly forward as strong, fast, and far as you can!" Lightningbolt slammed into Inkshade, pushing the she-cat out of the shark's way as it spun in her direction, feeling pressure against its gills, in an angry instinctive move to protect itself. "Are you alright?" he asked her, realizing how close they had come to getting grabbed by its jaws. Brightpaw, angry at this shark for threatening her home, threatening her clanmates, sent a blinding ray of light concentrated in the shark's direction, hitting it clearly in the eyes. The shark let out a loud sound, but it didn't seem to rely on its sight; instead it used vibrations in the water.

It suddenly occurred to Breezepaw how silly she must look, grooming herself in the middle of battle. She waded into the water, ignoring the feeling of water dragging her fur down. A giant wave threatened to knock her off her feet; she unsheathed her claws and gripped the sand below. Ravenfall screamed to get back, but there was no way Breezepaw would just sit there and watch. She wanted to do something. She noticed how Brightpaw's ray of light barely affected the shark; so it didn't rely on its sight. She stared at the blood in the water, willing all her anger and disgust at the shark into a giant gust of wind. She remembered parting water a few days earlier; maybe she could part the water where the shark was and make it difficult for it to fight?

Inkshade coughed and spluttered, letting out an "Oof!" when she was pushed out of the way. She shook her head to get the water out of her ears, then looked to Lightningbolt. "Yes, thank you." Her meow was almost shaky as she herself realized how close to death she had come. Flamesoul wanted to do something, but in the water his fire powers were pretty much useless. All he could maybe do was heat up the water around him.

Brightpaw was not too far from Breezepaw; she helped when a shot of air moved under her, the water disappearing beneath her. "Hey!" she hollered at the fellow apprentice. The shark was left unaffected.
Ravenfall looked to Cloudwhisker. "Ready?" she questioned, referring to her plan for the winged cats.
Lightningbolt yelled, "Go for the gills!" upon realizing that was a soft spot.
Heatherpelt was limping back towards the beach, bleeding profusely. It wasn't until he reached the sand that it became visible that his front left paw was missing. Zinniapetal gasped. "Hollowpaw, quick! Cobwebs now!"

Flamesoul continued forward, glancing back only to make sure Brightpaw was alright. He reached the shark in time to hear Lightningbolt yelling to attack at the shark's gills.
Inkshade quickly recovered from her fright and lunged forward again, right at the shark's gills. She slashed when she was close enough.
Hollowpaw snapped out of her moment of shock. She ran to grab one of the sticks with cobwebs, rushing back toward Heatherpelt.

Delphapool's eyes were wide with the sudden appearance of Oaktree, and almost stopped peddling her paws in order to stay a float, "Y-yeah...." she nodded slowly. "I'm okay...Are you?" The she cat was quite worried for her friend. After all, he just blocked her from the wave. It didn't seem the like the wave was too damage inflicting, but just in case.
Falconfeather followed Ravenfall's directions, taking a deep breath before he went. He dived down after carefully elevating himself a few feet higher into the air. His wings cut through the air as he dived; at the same time, he unsheathed his claws.

Breezepaw's attempt did not seem to affect the shark at all. Brightpaw said something that sounded annoyed. "Uh, sorry!" Breezepaw yelled back, unsure if Brightpaw heard or not. Since she obviously wasn't going to be able to do much from here, Breezepaw struggled forward, trying to ignore the unsettling sight of faint blood seeping through the water. She tried to use Wind powers to push her forward and only succeeded in tumbling face-first into the water.

Zinniapetal sprang into action as Heatherpelt fell to the ground, fortunately his fall padded by the sand. She pressed her paws to his bleeding leg, closing her eyes and working to heal it. Eventually, the wound closed some, but the paw was gone, and she was unable to do anything with the bone.
Ravenfall's claws sunk into the sandpaper rough skin of the shark, near the dorsal fin. When other winged cats dug in, she began pushing forward, only to quickly realize how heavy the shark was. Not truly lifting the fish, it didn't matter; to get away from the claws, the shark thrashed forward. Now, it was just far enough into the shallows that it's belly brushed the sandy bottom, and it was beached. It could still thrash about, move it's tail and head, but it could not move any further back where it was swimming freely.
Brightpaw silently forgave Breezepaw; it wasn't her fault, she was just trying to help! Brightpaw wasted no time, leaping through the waves as she tried to get to the shark to battle; her gait was ridiculous looking, almost as though she was pouncing on prey, but it was the best way for her to move. When she got close enough, she threw herself at the shark, managing to latch herself onto the side of the shark, digging her claws in and clinging on.
Oaktree nodded. "I couldn't let my clanmates fight without me. I don't care what Aurorastar thinks; I'm just as capable of taking this shark down as those with powers!" Then he rushed forward, in the direction of the shark, claws out and prepared for the battle.
Lightningbolt cursed under his breath. More than anything, he wanted to use his power to shock the shark, but if he did, there was a high chance that his clanmates would be shocked and maybe electrocuted as well. Water was the best conductor, after all. So he held his powers back though they wanted to burst.
(Let's wrap this up now! Kill this shark! XD)

YA))
Delphapool felt touched by Oaktree's short little speech, nodding in agreement. Then she paddled after the tom, her fangs bared, and claws unsheathed. She clawed at the shark for a few moments before clawing in too much for her claws. Delphapool instead attempted to just latch onto it instead, sticking onto it like a leech, near it's eye.
Falconfeather dug his claws firmly into the rough skin of the shark, attempting to bite into it, only to quickly regret what he had just done after he scratched his tongue on the shark's skin.

(yeah I've felt both shark skin and a cats tongue, I wonder what is tougher, they both kind of are rough! Of course, there's other sharks that sort of feel slimy, so idk. XD Guess I'm assuming this one is like the rough kind)
The shark tried to shake off the cats hanging on, and a few were thrown off, but more only proceeded to attach on. The skin was so tough that claws were breaking, though. But the shark was beginning to move slower, thrashing less; it was dying of blood loss. Eventually, after more than five minutes, it was no longer moving on it's own accord, only the strength of the waves pushing it further into the shallows. Cats called out in victory.

(I feel slightly bad for the shark; getting clawed to death sounds painful) Breezepaw quickly got up just in time to see Brightpaw land on the shark with a graceful-looking leap. She jumped through the waters as Brightpaw did, and managed to also land on the shark. She quickly gripped the shark's side with her claws, and searched for its weak spots: the gills.
Before she could get to them more cats began latching onto the shark. She felt her muscles relaxing as her grip on the shark became easier and easier; when it finally stilled she hopped off, this time without falling into the water.

Delphapool was one of the few cats that were thrown off; she landed on her side. She was pretty glad that she was thrown off though, because a claw of hers was stuck in the shark, and she couldn't get off until now, when the shark thrashed around causing her to get thrown off with her stuck claw still in it. She quickly sat up, looking for where Oaktree was.

(XD I guess, to be fair it chased the cats and became a cat eater. If only it didn't have a taste for cat blood...lol it really does sound awful getting attacked by a bunch of cats)
Darknight grinned. "Everyone to the beach to be checked out by medicine-cats. Everyone must be checked for injuries, no playing off your wounds; we don't need anyone dying from injuries later on," the deputy explained.
Aurorastar and the water cats were coming down onto the beach from The Rocks.
Brightpaw looked over to Breezepaw. "That was awesome! Horrible, but awesome. She thought of the death she had seen; Blizzardtail. She didn't know which cats had been lost at the beginning yet, but she knew it was winged or water cats...And she had seen Heatherpelt limping away, very hurt. Surely other cats were very hurt now. And not everyone had been accounted for yet...Where was Sagepaw?
Oaktree searched for Delphapool when he climbed down from the shark, where he had attached onto it's tail. "Delphapool?" he called, gasping upon finding her a dozen tail lengths away, the waves having pulled her out. Her claws were bleeding, and he noticed her favoring her side; she had been hurt. "What did you hurt?" he asked, wondering if maybe she had broken ribs, or if she had swallowed too much salty, bloody water and her stomach ached, or if she had a wound on her side...She didn't see to be bleeding there, but the waves could just be hiding the blood.

(ooh nooo. I missed the ending xp Oh well.)
Flamesoul dragged himself to the shore, coughing and spluttering. In his attempt to attack the shark he had been thrashed in the head by it's tail and he had been unable to find his way to the surface of the water despite how shallow it was. Now he stumbled as he walked, the world spinning. Flurryheart was limping as she walked toward the medicine cats. She had sprained a paw, it having been crushed awkwardly as the shark was beached. As she walked she caught sight of her son as he took a few awkward steps up the beach before getting turned around and heading back toward the water. She quickly limped over to him, her eyes full of worry as she let him lean on her so she could guide him.
Inkshade was sitting on the shore, panting. In the last moment of the fight, the shark had almost gotten a hold of her, leaving a gash in her front leg from when she pulled it out of it's mouth. It wasn;t life-threatening, but it was bleeding and hurt quite a bit.
Hollowpaw was running from cat to cat as they came to the shore, assessing their wounds. If they were minor, she would patch them up with cobwebs and herbs, saving her strength for the cats with more major wounds.

(Eh the ending wasn't much, the aftermath is what will be fun to rp ) "Flamesoul!" Brightpaw screamed out upon finding him, finally having caught sight of him after looking for minutes since the shark was beached; the water was filled with sand, blood, and foam from the waves, and with the chaos of swimming, jumping, running, and flying cats, along with splashing water, it was impossible to find everyone in the crowd as cats made their way to the beach, other cats looking for others to help who had been hurt. It pained her to see the young warrior hurt. "What happened?" she quickly questioned, leaning into him to help take some of the pressure off his paws.
Zinniapetal let out a howl, Heatherpelt no longer breathing. "I've failed!" she cried out. This was the first cat she had lost as she tried to heal them. She hadn't been able to heal him! Maybe if she had let Hollowpaw try...her apprentice was clearly not only more powerful with her powers, but a better medicine-cat, and a strong cat for the clan.

Just got back from Gymnastics! )) Delphapool searched for Oakheart, ignoring the dull ache on her side as she walked with a slight limp. It was probably just some minor bruising here and there. Nothing too serious. Then there was Oakheart. She spotted him, not too far away, and anxiety filled her heart, "I'm okay! Maybe just a little bruising, but that'll be gone in a flash!"she mewed, scanning Oakheart for the slightest possibility of injuries. "Did you hurt anything? Did you break anything? Did you lose anything? Did you sprain anything?"

(Ooooh gymnastics. Sounds fun.)
Flamesoul murmured something under his breath along the lines of "tail" but the rest of his words were slurred together and sounded like gibberish. He leaned heavily against the two she-cats, his paws almost failing him as he struggled to put one foot in front of the other.
Hollowpaw stopped mid examination of a cat and turned her head when she heard her mentor. Pain stung her as she realized that Heatherpelt must have died while Zinniapetal was trying to heal him.

(That sounds fun! My little sister used to do that a few years ago. Idk why she quit. How long have you done that, Snow?) Oaktree chuckled. "No, I'm fine. Let's go get you checked out- Darknight's orders, remember?" He was very worried about her, though. "Was this your first battle?" he asked curiously, helping lead her to the beach and out of the water.
"He's really hurt!" Brightpaw mewed anxiously as they got him to the beach, and she closed her eyes, scared. Then she looked up to Flurryheart. "I'll go get Hollowpaw," she muttered quickly, rushing off. She trusted the apprentice, and was certain that was who Flurryheart, as well as Flamesoul would want to work on the tom. She was their kin, after all.
With pain in her face, Zinniapetal went over to the next cat to help, Inkshade. "What are your injuries?" she questioned, looking the she-cat over. "Be honest, so I can evaluate you fully."(Hmmmmmm now we need a new mentor for Wolfpaw )

Flamesoul fell onto the soft sand, closing his eyes against the dizziness he felt. Flurryheart almost didn't hear what Brightpaw said as she crouched close to her son, burying her muzzle in his soaked fur.
Inkshade looked up at Zinniapetal and stretched her bleeding forearm out to Zinniapetal, wincing as she did so. "Just this. And I swallowed a lot of water." She was quick and to the point, her meow relatively cool now that she had calmed down.

"Yeah, yeah, but you get checked out first. You could be lying to me...." Delphapool teased him, rolling her eyes. "Your continuous grinning may be a case of you hitting your head on something while attacking that shark, so that you'd have something wrong with your brain, like a blood clot!" She smirked, "And yes, that was my first battle."
Is it because Heatherpelt died?))

(Yup, he dead.
That's awesome, Snow! Eh she was more into dance, she did that for...Idk like ten years. She did gymnastics for like 4 years though. Do you do competitions? She always loved doing that.)
"I'm fine," Oaktree said. "I don't need powers to fight. I wasn't in the battle that long, anyways," he mentioned, taking her to the beach, to wait for an available medicine-cat.
Brightpaw managed to find Hollowpaw in the chaos. "Your brother is really hurt!" she explained in a rush, praying that Hollowpaw would drop whatever she was doing and help. Even if it wasn't fair, Brightpaw was too scared. She couldn't lose Flamesoul!
Zinniapetal nodded. She drug a piece of dry moss over that was nearby, and wrapped it around Inkshade's forearm to dry it. She then focused on the wound, which fortunately wasn't too bad, and was able to close it up. "You'll need to keep this salve on it keep it from getting infection, though," she said, having put some chewed up horsetail leaves on it and then wrapping it with cobwebs. She then gave the she-cat some yarrow. "Chew all of this-" she explained, motioning to a leaf, stalk, flower and roots- "and eat it, to make you vomit. You'll get sick from the saltwater, having consumed so much. Afterwards, you must drink a lot of water, but you can head back to camp as soon as you have expelled the saltwater, and make yourself comfortable in camp, then drink water. Wait one hour until you eat a little something." Not that there was much prey left in camp to eat...
