This is to deal with necroposters and can be board specific.
Once a thread has been inactive for x amount of time it gets autolocked, that way it no longer can be replied to or bumped to the top. 30 days is a fair amount of time. New users break this rule constantly, now simply remove the opportunity before it happens.

@ - I don't want my thread getting locked if I'm just gone for one month. Or if you lock a thread of someone who comes on less frequently? I dunno. Some people have lives, and would like somewhere to go if they come back. They can just tell mods they're done with the thread like I did a couple times

It can be board specific and this is mainly aimed for the Cats/Warriors General.

In my opinion, locking a necroposted thread is unnecessary. I can simply delete the post if it is reported and the thread will go back to where it came from. Unless the thread does come back to life, then there’s no reason to lock or delete posts.

If it starts a conversation then that's fine. If it's not then the post will likely be deleted.
