I can't help but wonder if ShadowClan grabbed the wrong kit.
Violetkit seems like she would handle things better with ThunderClan and the idea that Twigkit actually wants to be a medicine cat is interesting considering Littlecloud is dead. Twig kit is more outgoing and not afraid to speak her mind. Violetkit is more soft spoken.
I'm not all that surprised that ShadowClan just said..."hmm...yeah you'll be a medicine cat because why not?"...I wonder if Puddlekit even wants to be a medicine cat? I feel like ShadowClan has always been flippant when it came to their medicine cats. It didn't seem like much of a concern to find a new apprentice for Littlecloud until he was literally dying. As soon as Littlecloud got sick they should have been trying to find an apprentice for him...actually after Flametail died they should have found an apprentice for him or started looking.
Onestar's grade A leadership skills came out again. No shock there.
Nothing on Mistystar and RiverClan which is a shame.
I noticed that there was a moment in the excerpt when Tawnypelt was called the ShadowCLan deputy...I wonder if that was just a mistake or if that is something that is actually going to happen and they incidentally let it slip early.
Pinenose has some grade A parenting going on there...well she's a step up from Lizardstripe I'll give her that.

Okay, I just read it. And poor Violetkit. :c She's so lonely, but hopefully Needlepaw will take care of her now. As for the timeline, chapter 1 says that it's been nearly a moon since Alderpaw returned home. Chapter 2 states that it takes place 2 moons after chapter 1 and Littlecloud is now dead. I expected it as much. still sad though. Also Pinenose's kits are already 6 moons old, meaning they are probably now apprentices. And chapter 3 takes place half a moon after Alderpaw brought Twigkit to visit her sister. And lol! Twigkit wants to be a medicine cat. Sorry sweetie, but TC already has too many of those. I also can't believe that Furzepelt is dead. One of our old DF trainees, but in no doubt in StarClan. I always kind of liked her and may StarClan light her path always. Also, Onestar lost a life. I wonder how many he has now... A side nose here, it was great to see Echosong again. This was her first POV. And I'm glad she's still alive, but she's also so alone. :c I know she's older now and I don't know if she'll survive alone forever. A part of me also wants to know who the tom that gave her the prophecy was. And where is Frecklewish?! Still with her twoleg? Come on, Echosong needs you! Actually it was two days after the end of Chapter 1 that Littlecloud died. |

Twigkit does want to become a medicine cat, but TC already has too many. And I remember she was called Twigpaw at one point. I wonder if this means she'll become an apprentice in this book. Lol, and the only way Twigkit could even become a medicine cat is if Leafpool dies. And maybe Jayfeather as well. Let her be Alderpaw's apprentice! Probably not gonna happen though. |

It was a prophecy he gave her once before.
Now...who is this cat? It was mentioned that he has a thick gray pelt and blue eyes. I'm guessing he's a SkyClan cat. So...is it by any chance Skystar? That does kinda fit him.

Honestly I feel really bad for Violetkit.
Pinesong may not be outright rejecting Violetkit, but the things she's saying definitely reflect her reluctance to fully accept Violetkit.
Things like:
"Lionkit isn't your sister"
and not really comforting Violetkit like she should have when Violetkit asked if no one really wanted her here. Yeah she said otherwise, but her body language indicated otherwise.
But it's not like Twigkit is completely ok either, honestly.
Besides Alderpaw and Briarlight, who are still significantly older than her, she's always playing alone, and she's much more aware of Violetkit's absence than Violetkit was initially aware of Twigkit's absence (strangely enough).
If those two are ostracized anymore, especially Violetkit, then they may be the ones to pose the biggest threat for the clans. Especially with Darktail lurking around. He's horrible, but he's also as charismatic and clever as Tigerstar.

His personality is grumpy, he's not mad because he's blind, this is just how he is. He's a medicine cat, and he's got a really important job, saving the lives of his clanmates. How do you think a medicine cat feels if they fail? Their whole clan is relying on them, just as much as they are a leader, this is also why ShadowClan seems so desperate for a new medicine cat. They also have one of the strongest connections to StarClan, so their role is very important. Yes I love Alderpaw, but I think Jayfeather is training him just fine, Alderpaw needs to be able to work under pressure, quickly, and needs to be able to stomach blood. Jayfeather can do all of this, and he's flipping blind, Cinderpelt too and she was physically challenged. Alderpaw needs to suck it up, Jayfeather isn't the most cheerful mentor, but he's not wrong either. Leafpool may have a kinder personality, but she's also trying to push Alderpaw to learn properly. |

I read it and I thought it was awesome so far! Can't wait for September! ^-^
I really loved Needlepaw, looks like she's gonna be even cooler in this book and I love her friendship with Alderpaw. (Also, I totally ship them now. It's not hard to tell Alderpaw probably has a crush on her. xD)
I think Twigkit and Violetkit are adorable, and it's super sad how they're separated and how lonely Violetkit was, but I love her new friendship with Needlepaw. I think Alderpaw's gonna be like a big brother to Twigkit and Needlepaw is gonna be like a big sister to Violetkit. I'm already loving the new Alder/Twig and Needle/Violet friendships.
Also, FernIvy has begun. YUS. I already ship it, I'm expecting a lot from this pairing. Please, Kate, fulfill my expectations. And Fernsong seems like a chill guy, perfect for Ivypool.
Littlecloud is dead. It's really sad, but we all saw it coming. At least he'll be happy in StarClan.
So Leafpool's going to train Puddlekit. I can't wait to see him as a medicine cat and how he'll do, and if he'll become a friend of Alderpaw's.
The rogues are finally here. Oh noooo. I can't wait to see how they'll do as villains though. They sound pretty deadly, and I'm going to bet Darktail was part of SkyClan at one point.
And poor SkyClan. I feel so bad for them. They have some terrible luck. I hope Echosong will be able to find her Clan soon and figure out the prophecies.
