Spookclan
- the spookiest of spooky clans -
____________________________________________________________
โ Lore โ Deep in the forest of nightmares, lies a camp of cats that could only exist in your darkest imaginings. A clan so dark, not even the Dark Forest would mess with them. They are known as... Spookclan. Cats of all horrifying shapes and sizes are drawn to this group, and there's no telling who, or what, you'll be sharing a nest with.
โ Territory โ
Spookclan lies at the center of a dark forest, the kind of dark forest you see in horror movie that has fog everywhere and always seems to be shrouded in night. The western egde of the territory leads in a deep swamp, so one could call half of the territory a wet marshland. The other half is thick with brambles and underbrush, and leads to a eerie looking thunderpath that is also usually covered in fog, thus marking the edge of their territory on the eastern border.
โ Camp โ The camp is located on the dryer section of land in their territory, and was formed into the roots of an ancient tree that had been there long before anything else was. The clan cats actually believe it was the first tree of the forest, but there's actually no proof to back that theory up. There are various dens dug under the roots, allowing plenty of space for the many cats to live. The leaders den is actually inside of the tree however, a slight ways up in a hole that was surprisingly large enough to fit a single cat, with only a slight bit of room remaining. The leader will then go to the branch thats just a little to the left to make clan announcements.
โ Landmarks โ โธHonestly I'm just gonna fill this in with the spookiest things you all come up with- puns encouraged.

โ About โ This is not meant to be too serious- it's mainly just an idea I had while I was at work thinking about fun Halloween stuff. Therefore, your cats can be anything Halloween related. For example, a ghost cat named Booclaw is completely fine. Basically just- Have fun with this- That's why I made it, you know~? :] Maybe if this actually sticks around until after Halloween we can have clans for other holiday's as border clans- who knows? But, all that said, don't be afraid to go through with some crazy plots- like maybe one cat brings back a candy corn mouse and another patrol decides to go spook some two-legs.
โ Rules โ โธ Even if this is basically a fun rp, try to keep things literate- I'm not asking for a novel, just a few lines, you know? โธ Be considerate, don't ruin the fun by acting like a jerk. โธ Keep things appropriate for younger audiences. โธ Only create as many cats as you can handle, and try to keep things diverse! If you see 10 vampire cats, maybe try to make something else instead to give the rp some variety! โธ Have fun!!!

โ Spooky Leader โ Limit one. Spook is their version of star, ex. Ghostspook.
โ Deputy Spook โ Limit one.
โ Witch โ Limit one.
โช Broomtwig โช Witch โช Tom โช Witch โช 17 moons โช Broomtwig is a fairly large dark brown tabby tom with round, bright amber eyes and very long whiskers. His paws and tail-tip are black, while his muzzle and belly are white. Overall, he's a very normal-looking cat, and that's because he is for the most part. He lacks physical powers or mutations, but in exchange was born with very strong mental powers- those of a witch. In particular, he demonstrated from a young age a strong instinctual awareness of his Clanmates- their feelings, location, and even the very nature of their being. Of course, that's not to say that he knows exactly where they are at any given time, or everything about them; nor can he read minds. He's simply able to have a strong idea of where they might be, for example, or their general emotional state, as well as knowing the right herbs to use for their "type" of creature. Some of this has been honed with training, but as with any witch, some of it needed to come instinctively first. Besides this, Broomtwig also has a minor pyrokinetic ability- that is, he is able to control heat and fire, to a very limited degree. He is able to slightly manipulate flames which already exist (for example, he could stop a small flame from spreading, or slow the spread of large one), as well as create very small flames, about the size of a candle flame. He can also conduct heat to a minor degree, even without a flame; this is best used on objects that conduct heat well, such as stone. For the most part, he uses these skills when making potions to help the Clan. Broomtwig trained under the previous Witch, Pumpkinface, for many moons, but when it was discovered that she was expecting kits, she was removed from her position and Broomtwig was made full witch in her place. Even though it has been many moons since, he is still sometimes awkward and uncertain of his ability as a healer. โช ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ซ๐ค โช

โ Spookers โ โช Clearpelt โช Spooker โช She-cat โช Skele-cat โช ??? โช Clearpelt, as her name suggests, possesses no pelt at all. The she-cat is merely a collection of bones, that had somehow been re-granted the ability to move, despite the lack of muscle to do so. She believes she was once a pretty tortoiseshell at one point in her life, but it's been so long that even that's a blur. Not that Clearpelt minds being a bunch of bones, it's just fun to think about. She's typically always up for a game or anything to entertain her, but it's become pretty common for cats to steal her bones from her as a game of cat and mouse, so she isn't exactly friendly to those individuals. She'd rather keep all her bones in the same place thank you. Clearpelt is one of those cats those goes bump in the night though, and tends to get her revenge by sneaking up on her foes and giving them a fright. She also things it's fun to scare two-legs that are 'brave' enough to enter the forest. Fun fact, she doesn't need to eat- or sleep- so she's pretty much always on the move. โช ๐ท-๐๐ฒ๐ท๐ฐ๐๐ป โช
โช Bouncestep โช Spooker โช Tom โช Slime Cat โช 25 Moons โช Bouncestep honestly just- looks like a cat made out of blue jello. Except he's just- a bit slimey. By a bit, I mean that he tends to leave little slime pawprints wherever he goes- and parts him always get left behind on prey or trees- so he's been ordered to only hunt for what he himself can consume- since no cat really wants to eat something that has his slime all over it. Bouncestep isn't perturbed by this, but it's the reason that he typically doesn't go out to hunt. After all, a single mouse takes forever to be dissolved into his system- so don't be surprised if he walks by and you can see exactly what he's decided to 'eat'. It's a little eerie, but at least he really only needs to eat like, every other week. โช ๐ท-๐๐ฒ๐ท๐ฐ๐๐ป โช
โช Mooncrow โช Spooker โช Male โช Ghost/spirit โช ?? โช Mooncrow is, generally speaking, a surprisingly normal-looking cat. At a glance, it's difficult to tell that there's anything wrong with him at all- he just looks like a fairly normal white tomcat. Upon closer examination, however, one starts to notice a slight transparency, being able to vaguely make out the shapes of trees and other objects through his body. His pelt seems to glow slightly in some way, just enough to give him an eerie look, and to make hunting in the open a bit difficult. His eyes are two different colors: the left is a pale, eerie blue in color, while the right is pale green. A scar stretches from his shredded left ear, down over his eye, to the corner of his mouth, and he also has a distinct scar across his throat. Fortunately, Mooncrow has the unique ability to pass through objects- including cats- which aids him in hunting in the forest. That way, instead of having to stalk prey through the underbrush and risk his glow being seen, he can hide inside objects, such as rocks and trees. Of course, said object must be large enough for him to physically fit into- he can't possess objects or change his size. Mooncrow is given his name because his power seems to be associated with the moon- the fuller it is, the stronger/more solid he seems. On new moon nights, or times where the moon is covered, he seems weak, sick, and sometimes can't even manifest himself. Meanwhile, on full moon nights he is energetic and strong, and may even seem solid. Being able to physically interact with objects takes effort on his part, and when there's no moon he may not be able to, while it comes easily when the moon is fuller. Mooncrow does not need to eat, and rarely has to sleep; instead, when he is tired, he returns to his "grave," which is a section of swamp where he assumes his body lies. He has no knowledge of who he was before his death: at some point, he merely came into being as he is now, wandered into camp lost and confused, and was adopted. โช ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ซ๐ค โช
โช Deadfang โช Spooker โช Female โช Vampire โช 279 moons โช Deadfang is probably the oldest cat in the Clan, but she certainly doesn't look it. Though she does have a gaunt and perhaps a bit sickly appearance- thin, ragged fur, dull eyes, and a skinny build- she is just as strong and capable as any other cat in the Clan- perhaps stronger and faster than some. Deadfang is a dark gray she-cat, with marbled white and pale gray rippling across her pelt- especially on her face, tail, and paws. Her fangs are extremely long, poking out over her bottom lip, and her eyes are crimson red. Despite her age, Deadfang looks to only be about 16 or so moons old; that was when she stopped aging altogether. She was born "vampiric," and was named Deadkit due to her coldness, and lack of breathing when she sleeps. In fact, when she was first born, most cats did think she was in fact stillborn, but she woke up, began moving, and opened her eyes quickly. She never nursed, and instead bit her mother several times before the cats figured out what her problem was. Deadfang needs a steady supply of cat blood to sustain herself, or she becomes weak and must sleep until she has access to blood again. The more "normal" the cat, the more filling it is to her- though her abnormal Clanmates (at least the ones with blood) do just fine, she prefers it when rogues and loners stumble onto or near the territory. Within about 12 hours of having recently fed (on a regular cat; when feeding on especially abnormal cats, this phase is skipped), Deadfang is much stronger and faster than her Clanmates, but after that her power fades to be roughly equal to a normal (though still on the higher end of the spectrum) warrior. After about three days (when having fed from a normal cat; the time is shorter the more "abnormal" the cat), she starts becoming weak, until after about a week she will have to sleep. Deadfang is more resilient to wounds than other cats, doesn't get sick, and doesn't age. She somewhat regrets the last part of that, as she outlived all of her kin and friends, and is thus reluctant to get attached to new Clanmates. When Mooncrow reappeared several moons ago, she thought he seemed familiar, and has her theories on who he might be- but nothing concrete. โช ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ซ๐ค โช
โช Windwail โช Spooker โช Female โช Banshee โช 25 moons โช Windwail is a deep crimson she-cat with a long plumy tail. She has long, silky fur, and at first glance you may think she's beautiful, until you see her eyes. Her eyes may seem normal to you at first, it's iris color being an unusual blue-purplish. But soon you'll see that her pupil doesn't reflect light. It remains like the night sky, save for the stars. It has a hair-raising effect, and she enjoys teasing other cats with them. She is a very sultry she-cat, being very beguiling. Her voice is very melodic and lilting, often threatening to put other cats to sleep. That is, until she yowls. When she caterwauls, her scream is so terrifying and shocking, it makes other cats' ears bleed. Windwail is actually a very pleasant she-cat, being very sweet and talkative. She is determined to do her best, and will encourage others. She has a terrible temper, however, and will take it out accordingly. She has a soft spot for kits and elders. She loves the taste of vole, and is obsessed with amber eyes. โช Goldie <3 โช
โ Spooker Apprentices โ โช Omenpaw โช Spooker Apprentice โช Female โช Black cat โช 7 moons โช Omenpaw would seem, at first glance, the most normal cat out of possibly any of the Clan. After all, she appears as a normal-looking, pure black she-cat, with vivid golden eyes. She is fairly small and lithe in frame, with no physical abnormalities to speak of. However, she has the notable ability to cause misfortune wherever she walks. This occurs in one of two ways: in a sort of "bubble" around her, wherever she happens to be, and in somewhat of a "trail" following her. Truly, bad luck to those that cross this black cat's path. Her "bad luck trail," so to speak, doesn't last long- things only happen to anyone who walks across a space she has been within about a minute. From there, bad luck could happen to them at any point in the rest of the day, until moonhigh. As for her "bubble," that only occurs to cats within her space, about a foxlength around her. Fortunately, the bad luck is usually not deadly, just very inconvenient- the wind suddenly changing direction to scare prey, a branch or pinecone falling on someone's head, a slip in the mud, and so on. On occasion, when events align "correctly," this luck can be far more dangerous, if it just so happens to occur and a particularly bad time. Thus, cats tend to avoid her, and she they, so to avoid causing them misfortune. This haunts Omenpaw, as she is really a loving and sweet young she-cat who never really gets to show it, for others' sake. She is a bit jealous of her sister Wisppaw; after all, it seems like Wisppaw got all of the fortune, while Omenpaw got the misfortune. Omenpaw was born to a SpookClan witch and a normal, rogue tom, and that seems to have affected her in strange ways. Her sister is Wisppaw. โช ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ซ๐ค โช
โช Wisppaw โช Spooker Apprentice โช Female โช Willow-the-Wisp โช 7 moons โช Wisppaw is a fairly normal-looking cat, and all things considered probably is the most truly "normal" out of any in the Clan. She doesn't really have a lot of physical "powers" in the way many of her Clanmates do, and physically, she is pretty much a normal cat. She is a willowy, thin silver-tabby she-cat with soft, wispy fur and a white chest, belly, tail-tip, paws, and muzzle. Her eyes are pale blue and seem to glow with an almost ethereal light, but that's the most abnormal thing about her appearance. Really, where her SpookClan "powers" come in, is her ability to know when and where is the ideal place for a cat to be at any given time. This is an ability still in development, and she's not always sure how to utilize it to its full potential; usually it just manifests itself as a distinct gut feeling that someone should go somewhere or be somewhere. At times, it's a bit more concrete- she may see minor visions or omens which might lead her to a certain location at the ideal time. In this sense, she's a bit of a clairvoyant, but not to the "major prophecy/vision from StarClan" degree. It's more of just a gut feeling that a patrol should go one way, and then they end up avoiding a fox, or that they should go another way and end up finding lots of prey. Little things like that. Wisppaw was born to a SpookClan witch and a normal, rogue tom, and that seems to have affected her in strange ways. Her sister is Omenpaw. โช ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ซ๐ค โช

(yeah if I can. I actually have to leave in a few minutes though so it'll depend on if I have a quick second after I get ready.
Also, a concept. What if the Clans had a legend about demon cats or something like that, who sometimes appear to make deals with the "living" in exchange for something they value- usually their soul. Thought of that because I like the idea of demon cats but I feel like they would be a little OP for regular spookers lol.)

(okay now I can finally post starters lol. Time to get spoopy)
Deadfang lay at the base of the tree which housed the camp, in the hollow between two roots just above the spookers' den. Between her paws was the remains of a small mouse, the bones of which she now nibbled on absentmindedly as she watched the fog and mist roll across the shadowed forest floor beyond the clearing. Of course, the she-cat didn't really need to eat, like many of her Clanmates, but she found that doing so did help to extend her strength- perhaps only by a few hours, but even so, it meant she needed to feed from her Clanmates, or hunt for rogues near their territory, less frequently. And besides, prey was plentiful this time of year, so why shouldn't she enjoy a bite? Such were her thoughts when suddenly she felt a blast of cold against her flank.
"Mooncrow," she greeted, turning to look up at the pale tom, who had stopped about a tail-length behind her. It seemed that the air always felt cold around him.
Mooncrow dipped his head, padding to Deadfang's side and settling down on the tree root, wrapping his translucent tail around his dainty paws. For a heartbeat he surveyed the camp silently, then swiveled on ear towards his Clanmate. "Any sign of activity? It seems that the others are determined to sleep the night away," he commented without looking at her. Instead, his gaze was fixed on the forest.
"No, no activity," Deadfang replied curtly, pushing herself into a sitting position. She watched Mooncrow for a moment, as always with the omnipresent and somewhat bothersome feeling that he was awfully familiar. Still, she couldn't seem to figure out why; she'd never met him before he'd drifted into camp two and a half moons ago, with no memories of who he had been in life. That she was certain of. Pushing these thoughts away, she commented: "You seem antsy tonight. Is something bothering you?"
The white tom twitched his whiskers in response. "Is it that obvious?" He rolled his shoulders, letting out a sigh. "It's nothing. Just that the moon is waning, and I want to be out doing things while I have the energy."
Deadfang nodded; she could sympathize. Fortunately for her, whether her strength waned was her decision, whether or not she wanted to feed now or hibernate until a more opportune time. Mooncrow, however, was at the mercy of the moon. "Perhaps if someone else was to wake, we could go out hunting," the mottled she-cat commented helpfully. "Or, patrolling, seeing as the fresh-kill pile seems full enough at the moment."

Clearpelt's bones rattled as she walked into camp, shaking out the odd angles as she returned from tormenting a poor dog that had wandered too far into the territory. Her skull glanced around the camp before empty eye sockets landed on the two cats as they talked. Trotting over with a bit of noise, Clearpelt would have smiled a greeting were it not for the fact that she was, well, always smiling. "What are you guys up to?" she inquired cheerfully, nobody knowing just how bones were able to speak, but not really questioning it. "It seems you've been busy~" She added, gesturing to the fresh-kill with her tail bones. She wasn't too familiar with the other two cats, but she knew them well enough at this point to be able to interact with them. Unlike the two of them, her abilities didn't seem to rely on much, she was just a skeleton after all. She just had to worry about misplacing a rib or two.

(I'll reply once I get home but in the meantime, a question: what did you have intended for the riches, as far as like their abilities and whatnot go? I got the impression they're a creature of their own in addition to a rank so I wanted to ask. I was thinking about making the adult witch, since I thought it might be fun to come up with spoopy diseases and herbs and whatnot for the odd members of the Clan lol)

{ Basically, they are kinda like the typical medicine cat where they use herbs and whatnot- but since theyโre patients are a bit more magical- they have to rely a bit more on magic potions and whatnot to get theyโre desired affect- also rather than speaking with starclan or the like, theyโre able to use scrying to see bits and pieces of the future and whatnot- and are very in tune with their intuition- allowing them to just sorta know things at times- and are the ones who generally find the cats who join their clan- just because they know when the cats have arrived in the territory~ plus you can always add a few other quirks if you make one, since they are pretty powerful cats~! }

Deadfang dipped her head to Clearpelt as she approached, not bothering with a verbal greeting. Mooncrow, on the other paw, barely acknowledged her, instead just watching her still and silently with his cold, distant gaze.
"Yes," the she-cat replied to Clearpelt's comment, licking one paw and drawing it over her torn ears nonchalantly. "I went hunting just after dusk. It's been quiet since, though. Mooncrow here was beginning to get restless," she added with a somewhat teasing purr, glancing in the pale tom's direction. He glared back at her for a heartbeat, shuffling his paws uncomfortably at having been drawn attention to.
"Oh, hey, Clearpelt!"
Now a new voice cut through the quiet clearing, and the cats turned to see a small black she-cat bounding over. Instinctively, Deadfang shied away, watching the younger she-cat warily, but if the black cat noticed she didn't bother to acknowledge the slight. Instead, she paused a few tail-lengths away, dipping her head to Clearpelt. "I was looking for you. Are we going to battle train today?" she asked, her tail-tip twitching with excitement.

Clearpelt nodded to the apprentice as she ran up, seeming unperturbed by the aura that the cat possessed. After all, even if something bad did happen to her, she would merely have to be reassembled. So, unlike some, she had no fear of Omenpaw. Tail flicking with her own excitement, she gave another nod to show her agreement. โYeah sure, battle training sounds like it would be fun... Are you ready now?โ She inquired, turning away from the other two. After all, they werenโt exactly being the most engaging of company. Glancing back she jerked her head towards the entrance, โYou guys are welcome to come, but I figured you would probably get bored.โ She added, extending the offer but not really expecting them to join in.

Deadfang shrugged and got to her paws. "May as well, I suppose," she meowed, arching her back in a stretch. "Where's your sister?" she asked Omenpaw as she straightened up, raising an eyebrow. Omenpaw shrugged noncommittally.
"Not sure," she replied, flicking her tail. "I think Windwail had her fetching moss, or something of that sort."
Deadfang nodded. "I see. Well, perhaps we'll run into them in the forest." She stepped over the tree roots, heading down towards the forest. At the edge of clearing, she paused and cast a glance back towards Mooncrow. "Coming?"
"Um, yeah, I guess," the tom replied, eyes widening a bit at the invitation. He got to his paws- or rather, sort of drifted- and padded down the hill to join Deadfang. Omenpaw waited for Clearpelt, and then followed behind her, keeping her distance from the others as a precaution.

{ Iโm honestly kind of tempted to- if thatโs something you wouldnโt mind! }
Clearpelt nodded as everyone joined them, padding into the forest with a bit more care in how much noise her bones were making. She always tried to keep quiet for the sake of her clan mates in case anyone decided they wanted to hunt, and while it was never perfect, it was better than her normal clattering. Veering off towards the patch of forest they used for training, Clearpelt kept the pace up while only checking back every now and again to see if the others were following. The training patch was simply an area towards the dry part of the territory that was clear of trees and bushes, and was basically just a very small meadow. The fog still remained however, keeping everything very much hidden in a spooky shroud. โAlright Omenpaw, today weโre gonna switch from defensive tactics to more offensive tactics.โ She explained as she entered the clearing and faced her apprentice. โShow me your stance and how you think you might attack me.โ

The three followed Clearpelt as she made her way to the training area. Omenpaw scrambled through the mud and brush, and over logs and stumps, while Deadfang- practiced and strong- made her way through the forest more easily. Mooncrow didn't even bother to avoid obstacles, instead just padding through them as though they didn't exist. When they reached the clearing, Omenpaw stopped to catch her breath before trotting out into the meadow to join her mentor. Mooncrow and Deadfang settled at the edge of the clearing to watch, Deadfang with the intention of offering advice if she thought either of the other cats could use it. Mooncrow, on the other paw, watched with a somewhat bemused expression: he remembered nothing of his training, or any of the processes that went into it. Of course, he could still hunt and fight just as well as the other warriors in the Clan, but at this point it came more like instinct than memory.
Omenpaw purred with excitement when Clearpelt said they would start on offense. She felt as though she could fend off anything, what with all the defense she had been learning for the past two moons! Finally she would learn how to attack instead! At her mentor's command, Omenpaw dropped into a defensive crouch, her body low to the ground to protect her belly, and legs set wide apart to keep her balance even if the other warrior tackled or batted at her. Still, she kept more of her weight on her hind paws, that way she could easily rear up if an attacker tried to jump on her back. Next, she watched Clearpelt's stance, trying to determine any kind of flaw or weakness that would indicate an opportunity to attack. After all, Clearpelt had spent two moons telling her that defense was everything- thus, it stood to reason that in order to be good at offense, she would have to understand defense and how to exploit it. Still, it was difficult trying to judge the best way to attack a cat made of just bones.
"Hm," she meowed after a few heartbeats of studying Clearpelt's position. "Maybe if I went for your paws? Then you'd probably rear up to attack me that way...." Omenpaw flicked her tail, eyes narrowed with thought, "and then I could attack your belly? Or, well...." She frowned, not sure if something like that would work on Clearpelt, if at all.
