A small hiss of pain escaped his lips as he attempted to readjust his position on the bed, becoming cold (even more than he thought was possible) in a matter of seconds and sought out the warmth of his fuzzy blankets. Of course, he was a vampire, so he should be used to the cold, no? Contrary to popular belief, vamps were warm blooded, just like humans. Since his body was so frail and weak from being on death's door, the blood flow that circulated through his body was drastically slow, causing him to be cold more times than not. The overwhelming number of blankets and pillows on the massive mattress were enough to keep him at a satisfactory warmth, but they did nothing to cushion his movements. His entire body was frail, aching and groaning. His joints creaked constantly and his body trembled with effort when he tried to do the simplest of movements (he couldn't even brush his teeth by himself). It was as if he was a thousand years old, and he laughed softly to himself at the thought (he was reaching eight hundred soon), but winced when his action jostled his body.
Grunting in both annoyance and pain, Kim slowly moved his arm to cover his eyes, his other hand squeezing a blanket tightly as he waited for the pain to subside. To distract himself, he thought of what he was going to say to some members of the clan when they did their daily visits. One of the thoughts was to complain that the room was still too bright for his liking, despite the thick curtains that covered the windows. They were too big (the windows, that is), that was the problem. He made a mental note to himself to ask (order) Minseok to buy even thicker curtains. Would wool work? That was thick enough, right? Ugh, he wouldn't even have to deal with such a problem if his clan members just let him die. (Sure, he was the Fuher, he had the responsibility to lead them, but he was tired of everything.)
Kim was still upset with them for that, for taking him off his deathbed and slowly nursing him back to life. And after he tried so so hard to finally die.
Okay, yes, he should be grateful to have such a dedicated family, but they just didn't understand. He was in a constant state of misery for the past few years, but no one exactly noticed since he was usually always grumpy. They only realized that something was wrong once he didn't leave his room for a week or so, depriving himself of nutrition and essentially forcing his body to shut down. It wasn't exactly the most comfortable way to go, and he cursed at himself for being so forgetful on locking the door to the office that was attached to his bedroom (his family probably would've broken it down anyway, and it would have costed a fortune to replace an antique such as that).
And the fact that he was still alive and starting to heal was all thanks to his clan constantly kidnapping humans off the street and feeding him their blood until he reacted positively to one of them didn't settle so well with Kim (it also didn't help that the human he reacted to positively was agreeing to see him that day, after escaping. The irony. If the other was smart, he should've stayed gone). The reputation of vampires was already weak and unsteady, and if the media ever caught wind of this, they were surely going to be in serious, unwanted trouble.

He didn't know why he agreed on meeting the leader, honestly, he hadn't even wanted to come back, he was somehow dragged here despite his large size and impressive amount of strength. He let out a sigh, scanning his surroundings while a pout formed on his lips, his stubbornness refusing to allow him to react to anything, even the two vampires in the room attempting to make conversation. He wasn't this grumpy usually, but after being used for blood, not allowed to stay on his diet, and kept in a room without a way to exercise, he felt frustrated with everything and everyone around him. He wasn't even afraid of the creatures surrounding him any longer, that fact contributed to the welcoming behaviour they had and his own annoyance, but that wasn't anything new. He actually perked up when a third figure entered the room, telling him that the leader had woken and now was a good time to go see him, if he still desired to do so. He answered with only a nod, and had to admit to himself that he was a little excited; he never had too much interest in monsters but since he'd been aware of their existence he was curious, just as every other human was. The wariness toward them was now nonexistent for him, leaving only anticipation and wonder on what exactly a leader of a vampire Clan looked like, acted like, etc. He was almost squirming as he was led out of the room he was previous locked in, his energy difficult to contain and actually causing discomfort when the creature in front of him moved slowly, as if on purpose. "Could we.. Go a bit faster?" He prompted, voice quiet but hopeful. He was given a nod followed by a sigh of exasperation, though he tried not to let it bother him as they finally moved at a normal speed, allowing him to relax in a way. It wasn't long before they reached the door and he was pushed into the dark room by one of the vampires, who joined him in standing beside the extravagant bed, only made out to be so because of the small amount of light the open door provided until it was shut tightly. He attempted quicken the adjusting of his eyes but that was impossible, so just huffed to himself and waited for the figure next to him to speak to the presence he knew was sprawled out on the mattress. (This is short and sucks rip)

Kim typically wasn't like this, really. He wasn't a weak minded being, and he often displayed that in his appearance and behavior. He prided himself on his looks, always looking well-groomed and impeccable. But right now, in this very moment, he looked weak. Frail. Disgusting. Depressing. His skin was constantly damp with sweat, an gross pallor ruining his complexion. His hair was limp and pretty greasy, much to his disdain. A beautiful, powerful, regal vampire such as he was confined to their bed, all thanks to the fact that he wasn't allowed to die by his clan. And maybe a depressed being such as he shouldn't care too much on their appearance, but Kim was always one to be original. For once, he was glad that he kept his bedroom dark, not wanting the human to see him in such a state. He honestly wouldn't have cared if he were in a different situation such as this,(he was meeting a mere human), mainly because he was positive he would've looked good.
As he heard a member of his clan approaching alongside a set of lumbering footsteps, he lowered his arm from where it covered his eyes. The movement just caused him to wince, again, and he glanced over at Minseok with the human by his side. Murmuring a soft "This is him, huh?", he mentally cheered and patted himself on the back for not wavering (or cracking) his voice despite how raspy it sounded. Forcing himself to sit up, a soft whine escaped his lips as his body ached in protest. He immediately covered the sound with a cough, which just turned into a series of coughs, his body trembling slightly with effort. He could have sworn he heard soft murmurings before his bed dipped and a hand snaked around him to gently rub his lower back. Normally, Kim would have pushed Minseok away, not wanting to be seen as a weak Fuher, but he was just too tired to argue, even leaning into the touch and sighing softly. He cursed quietly, the sound muffled since his face was pressed against the clan member's neck, annoyance seeping into his weak tone.
He hated being like this. Why couldn't they have just let him die? Dying was way better. He was supposed to have died.
Shutting his eyes, he listened to Minseok introducing him to the human, only grunting in response when his name was mentioned. He hated how frail he seemed to be instead of a weak human, but he didn't have much of a choice, did he? Opening an eye, he took in the other's appearance (being a vampire had its perks, like seeing in the dark). He looked like the type of male that Kim would have lusted over back in the day (he still would, but mates were clearly at the back of his mind). "You're helping me live, stop it." were the only words that left his mouth after his coughing fit, the second sentence he ever spoke to the human that was giving him life.
He could have sworn he heard Minseok softly chiding him in the background, but he was too tired to care, only staring at the human, his golden irises glowing in the dark bedroom.

He wanted to look away, he really did, but something about Kim's golden gaze was captivating, yet also overwhelming in a way. He could tell that the other was once a very powerful being, authoritative and proud, but with once look over his body he knew that this man was just a shell of his former self; weak, vulnerable.. it was sad, and he understood now why the other vampires in the Clan had been begging him to stay and cooperate. Forcing his eyes to move away from the pitiful form he instead was staring at Minseok, who was the one who often spoke to him about the whole situation. "I'll do it," He mustered, upset at himself for having such a bleeding heart, for being unable to refuse someone so in need. He even ignored Kim's words, mostly because he didn't want to dignify such a request with a response. "I'll let you use my blood, but I'd like to be able to cook my own meals and get at least an hour of exercise a day.. if that's reasonable enough." He paused, staring at the vampire with a hopeful expression. Rin wasn't great with bargaining, never had been, but having these few things back in his life would help soothe the anxiety that built up in him when all he had to do was sit in a room and wait for food and blood to be taken. He hated staying still for too long and even when he was given something to do, he couldn't focus on it, not when he had so much energy and felt the need to walk or run around. He just wasn't suited for the lifestyle they were attempting to provide him, and honestly, he would've been okay with conditions that were far worse. But that wasn't something to think about now, he was trying to get a vampire leader back to wellness. (lol this sucks and is short)

Kim barely listened to the rest of the conversation despite being the main topic, too drained to really even care anymore. Plus, he was cranky that the human had the nerve to ignore his previous words. It just wasn't fair. Sitting upright and remaining conscious was taking a lot out of him, and it was starting to take its toll on him. Kim sagged against Minseok, feeling himself slip into a sleepy daze as time went on. His breathing slowed to soft pants, mouth parted slightly to expose his canines. Realizing that Kim was beginning to fall asleep again, Minseok adjusted their position slowly so Kim was laying down again, apologizing profusely because he knew how much it was hurting the other. Another pathetic whimper escaped Kim when he was laid down again and he clutched his pillow tightly, trembling a bit before he buried his face into the material.
Minseok finally turned his attention to Rin once he deemed that he did everything he could for Kim, nodding his head and almost immediately agreeing with the other's rules, thanking him profusely for helping them save their Fuher. Glancing down at the curled up figure of his Fuher, he softly asked if there was one more thing Rin could do for them. He knew that they already asked for so much, but it would be super helpful if Rin could visit Kim at least once a day.
The other members of the clan, including himself, were quite busy. They had to keep up appearances while Kim was sick, not wanting any other clan to catch wind that their Fuher was sick and nearly on his deathbed. The scandals it would cause would just be a disaster. Once Kim was healthy enough to heal on his own, the other could leave and forgot that such a thing ever occurred, he promised.

He was unsure how he felt about the agreement in all honesty, contemplating his response as he gazed steadily at Kim, who was curled up pathetically on the bed. Usually he didn't mind visiting others- he was a social butterfly -but it was very clear that this man disliked him and was not a fan of having his life saved. He hesitated, short, rounded brows knitting together as he considered his options, his eyes darting back and forth from Minseok, to Kim, then back to the floor. The pressure of his decision caused anxiety to begin welling in his stomach and he joined his hands, not to hold them still, but to pick at one of the many scars on them. This action wasn't done to calm his nervousness but to distract from it, yet he didn't even notice when blood welled up around his nails. "I guess... I suppose I could come visit as long as Kim isn't mean to me.. At least not too mean," He began, eyes again darting around the room as he continued picking at his wound, still not picking up on the fact that blood was starting to run down his wrist and dirty his fingers. The wound wasn't at all bad, just messy from how much he was scratching at it. "If he's too mean then I can't be in the room with him, but I'll take care of all his needs while I can if he's at least somewhat kind." (this is so short and bad yikes)

Minseok let out a relieved sigh, nodding along to Rin's words and promising the other that Kim would be on his best behavior while he was with him. Well, the best that he could possibly be in such a state. Coming back from the brink of death wasn't exactly a fun time, but it wasn't as if Kim was never grumpy until now.
Leaning down, Minseok gently murmured to Kim that he needed to treat this human kindly, alright? He was sacrificing his time to help the other out, the least he could do was try to be somewhat pleasant. He pestered the other, even gently nudging Kim until he got a weak whine in response. Laughing softly and kissing the top of his Fuher's head, Minseok leaned back, now satisfied.
However, his eyes narrowed and his nostrils flared slightly at the scent of the other's blood, darting his eyes to glance down at Rin's wrist. He easily detected where it was coming from and it didn't affect him all that much, mainly because vampires (or at least their clan) had learned how to hold back from temptation. He was unsure at how Kim would be affected though. He knew that the other's self-control was considerably weak, and that Kim's body was slowly growing used to the taste and scent of Rin's blood.
To avoid any unnecessary situation, he reached out a hand and placed it above Rin's bleeding one, murmuring that the other was bleeding and needed to leave, okay? As soon as the words left his lips, a sharp whine escaped the back of Kim's throat, turning into a soft growl at the end. Minseok sighed softly, shooting Rin a reassuring smile and saying that he'd see the other tomorrow morning then.

Rin was a little surprised when he was told of his own condition, staring down at the blood in surprise for a good minute before glancing at Minseok. "Sorry, I didn't notice.." His quiet voice was cut off by the other's and he just nodded slowly, turning and leaving the room rather briskly. In all honesty Kim's growl made him shiver a little, but he quickly blamed that on the natural fear residing in him, not... not that. He greeted a few of the other vampires as he made his way to his room, shutting the door carefully behind him when he made it, sighing to himself. He entered the little bathroom area his room provided and washed his hand of blood, silently wondering to himself how exactly he ended up here. Well, that was easy, they lured him with the promise of pastries, but in general, he'd never dreamed of such a situation, much less even considered the existence of the creatures he was now surrounded by. How strange.
(lmao time skip)
Well, it wasn't an awful morning so far, so that was good. He had been allowed to brush his teeth, dress in something he liked rather than the ugly hospital gown they provided, put his hair up in a nice bun, and even clean his piercings with a little bit of alcohol. He felt clean for the first time in a while and as he walked alongside Minseok toward Kim's room, he realized that he was actually in a cheerful mood. Actually, cheerful wasn't the word, it was more optimistic than anything. Once they reached the door he allowed the vampire to creak it open, entering in the space he was provided to fit his body through. It was still as dark and rank as the night before, but due to his mood it wasn't as effective in turning him away from caring for this poor being.

Glaring sullenly at the sliver of light that managed to escape through the crack of his curtains, Kim let out a groan of annoyance, hiding his face with his pillow again. This was done without much pain, proving he was getting better, much to his disdain. Today was the day that he was going to be babysat by some human. He almost laughed at the thought (but that would’ve hurt him tremendously) that Kim, a successful Fuher that was feared by many, was going to be watched over by a weak human. A human whose blood he was apparently addicted and responsive to. So, that gave him another two reasons so utterly despise the other (besides the fact that he was being kept alive). Did he have any right to even hate the human? Probably not, seeing as how they agreed to come back, returning out of their own free will to help Kim. It caused his stomach to churn to know that he was pitied by a human (but that also might’ve been the fact that he was still feeling awful).
His ears detected slight movements outside his bedroom door and he grunted in annoyance, not really wanting to interact with anyone. His clan forced him to live, so why couldn’t they leave him in peace for a while? He knew they cared for him, but this was getting ridiculous. He wasn’t a toddler, he didn’t need constant supervision, and from a human, no less.
Kim huffed in disdain, deciding that he had to make the best of it. After the human left his quarters, Minseok had threatened to keep Kim away from his paperwork for longer, knowing the Fuher was itching to have something to do once he got stronger. Of course, the other had no power over him, but Kim listened anyway, knowing it was best not to upset his clan anymore. Pushing himself to sit upright, he covered most of his face with the blanket so only his eyes and forehead were visible, watching the human enter his room. They looked more put together(more so than him), so that was something.
Coughing, he turned his head to the side, and muttering that the other could come closer, he didn’t have to loiter by the door.

Rin watched Kim carefully while he still could, eyes taking in the man's movements up until the door was once more shut and no light lingered in the room. Being left in complete darkness wasn't comfortable to him, especially with a vampire in the room, so when he heard the echoing voice of the creature he nearly messed his pants in surprise and fear. He listened though, shuffling closer to the bed and settling into the weird chair beside it, clearly put there so Minseok could give Kim the blood he needed, like the opposite when it was drawn at the hospital. The optimism he felt was struggling to come forward because of the suffocating darkness, not that he was afraid of it; it was more the atmosphere he didn't like, the depression and frustration the air carried felt as if it were being shoved down his throat. "So.." He began awkwardly, not necessarily wanting to sit in silence while the other pouted over being babysat. "What's it like being, y'know, a vampire?" It wasn't the most appropriate question to ask but it avoided sensitive topics, or at least he believed it to. Plus, he was genuinely curious what it felt like, since he had only ever been a human, obviously. (This is short and bad yikes)

Out of all the questions he was sure the other had, the "What's it like being a vampire?" caught him off guard. It was just so sudden and odd, causing a sharp bark of laughter to escape from Kim's mouth. Of course, the sudden action took his body by surprise and he felt another wave of pain to snake through his body. He winced at it, his laughter slowly subsiding into a slight cough, but he just played it off like it was nothing, like he wasn't actually in pain. He didn't want to show any more weakness to the other than he had already seen.
"Being a vampire is similar to being a human, I suppose." He murmured (once he stopped coughing), gazing up at the other and drinking in every little detail that his eyes could see. The other wasn't really that bad to look at, which Kim supposed was a good thing. After all, he'd be seeing a lot of the human from now on. "We just drink blood instead of eating, and live much longer lives than your kind. We don't exactly die from old age, only from a stake to the heart, or..." He trailed off, glancing down at his own body and gesturing. He realized that the other wasn't able to see him pointing to himself, so he sighed before adding "Or forcing themselves to stop eating and slowly withering away into nothing."

It was sad, really, thinking about Kim's answer to his question and the way that his tone indicated he was referring to himself when speaking about death. He couldn't understand why this man wanted to end his own life, especially when he had such a loving and caring group of people supporting him. He knew those who felt this way were often in a great pain, something they felt they couldn't get rid of or it just wasn't worth trying to get over it; maybe for Kim, living just became dull and he desired for something to brighten it up, bring something new and interesting in. Maybe, if he tried hard enough, he could become the other's friend and alleviate all the bad feelings. He wanted to ask about the issue but knew it had to be sensitive, so stayed quiet. "Don't you get hungry, though? Just.. not eating like that?" It was close to the problem but not too much so, which made him feel comfortable asking Kim this question. He was honestly curious, since he got hungry pretty often and ate a lot, and when he missed even one meal he felt too exhausted to get through the rest of the day. (this sucks so bad but im brain dead)

Kim hummed softly, glancing away for a moment, murmuring "hungry" to himself. He let go of his focus for a moment, too busy being lost in his thoughts. It wasn't like he didn't get hungry, he had been utterly famished, nearly giving in on the fifth day. But, he didn't wanting to reach his goal of finally ending it all. And yeah, he probably could've gone the other route with a stake in the heart, but those had become so hard to come by. The government had banned those from the country, for some dumb reason to maintain "peace and prosperity" between humans and vampires. Pathetic.
The two weeks, almost three, when he starved himself were the absolute worst. The whole time, he had hoped that each day was going to be his last. It was sad, really, when he was so close to obtaining what he wanted and having it snatched away from his grasp at the last second.
Returning his gaze to Rin, he shrugged, the slight movement causing him to wince, again. "Not eating for that length of time is enough to get anyone hungry. Your kind would have been dead long before then. It's such a shame that it takes a lot to get rid of us." He sighed softly, running his teeth along his fangs after he spoke. "It feels like your stomach is contracting into nothing. Your body is too weak to even sense much and any movement will become painful. Your muscles will atrophy, leaving you immobile. It really isn't the best thing. Hence, that's why most vampires eat as much as they can."

"If you're hungry.... Then you should eat," Rin began, though he knew that things weren't always resolved so quickly, especially when Kim was doing this because he wanted to die. "I know it's uncomfortable and that you don't want to, but if you die then no one will be here to take care of the rest of them. Sure, they could be with one another, but obviously they care for you a whole lot and would be a complete wreck with you gone." His eyes fell from the outline of Kim's form and down to his hands, which he once more had been picking at while he spoke. There was a bit of blood welling up but not as much as last time, so he figured it would be fine and let it be, just lowering his hands and flicking his gaze momentarily back to the vampire.
He couldn't say that he was ever suicidal in his life, definitely not, so he didn't understand Kim's undying will to expire, but he was doing his best. Being open toward the other and providing his blood was really all he could do for him since talking it through would likely be a struggle for them both. He didn't suffer much at all in his short twenty two years, the only mental pain he felt coming from insecurity and bouts of anxiety that occasionally kept him from leaving his house for a day or so. The idea of it getting that bad was enough to make him form pity and even a little affection for Kim, as the other must really be struggling; he already told himself he would help, but there was just more emotion behind it now. (this sucks yikes)

Kim just shrugged, glancing away for a moment to glare at the wall, not wanting to direct his gaze towards the other (Minseok told him long ago that his facial features could be scary at times. He wasn't aware of this until then, and wanted to believe the other wasn't lying to him). "I suppose they would be a wreck. Look at them now, running around and capturing humans from the street to see if my body reacted to any of their blood positively." He laughed softly, but there was disdain and bitterness in his words, the laugh sounding forced. It didn't even sound like a laugh really, more like a wheeze, but he shrugged that off, only wincing in pain from the slight action. He kept on forgetting that his body wasn't exactly like it used to be, at least for now. He was almost certain his clan wouldn't let him starve himself ever again.
Wanting to deflect the conversation from himself, he rested his head on his pillow, turning his gaze back on Rin again. "So, tell me about yourself. What was your life like before you were forced to come here. Any lovers? Aspirations? Bucket lists?" Generally, Kim wouldn't care about these such things, especially when it had to do with a human. But, he was growing a little bit bored and would enjoy the distraction from the aches and pains of his body. From the screaming sensation when he moved any of his limbs even a little bit. And even if Rin's life was boring, it would be a nice discussion, rather than the one about his attempt to end his life.

It was almost funny- almost- when the other asked him about his life. Compared to this whole thing he was insignificant, just some guy being used for his blood, he knew he wasn't a point of interest for the leader of a vampire clan. Though, he was appreciative for the chance to think about his former life, he hadn't done so for quite a while. "Um... I guess I kinda had those things. A lover, yes.. well, no, not really a lover. I was hooking up every now and again with a girl I used to date, nothing stable or serious. Just physical stuff," He began awkwardly, cheeks heating up a little and a light shade of pink dusting across them. "Aspirations.." He mumbled, pronouncing the word incorrectly but not attempting to correct himself, as if he hadn't even noticed. "I don't really have any, to be honest. I recently graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Anatomy but I'm currently unemployed since I can't figure out what I wanna do. I lived on my own and paid rent with my savings, but I've likely been kicked out by now.. um.." He paused, brows furrowing slightly as he thought about the last thing the other spoke about. "I never really thought of anything for a bucket list, sorry. I'm not very interesting, I wish I had more to speak about." Though he was apologizing, there was something different about his voice, as if he were trying to hold something back. That was the sign of a lie, and if one noticed, it became clear that Rin was a very bad liar.
(this is so short and bad rip also the college part is probably wrong in some way bc I don't know anything abt it But yeye Rin has a degree in Veterinary Anatomy he dumb but also smart in his own ways))
