I haven't played gates to infinity but everyone I know who has has p much hated it so I don't think I will, either.
great and confusing and long - literally all I ever look for in entertainment cx not even a joke, that's all I need in life. maybe I'll look into it then, if you recommend it? I'll probably avoid the fandom tbh, I've heard some not so great things and tend to avoid the fandom of things I enjoy anyway, but there's no need to get involved w/ it so
ooo the revolution thing could be interesting? lots of different ways to take that. the characters would kind of have to be on the same side, which isn't necessarily bad, just a limitation. unless you could think of another way to approach it. I like the kingdom thing, too, especially if it involves war bc I'm a sucker for war stories tbh I think I'd prefer the kingdom one, it just leaves everything so much more open & we could always throw in a revolution along the way there

that's true & a massive bonus tbh. I might sit down and see if I get into it at all once I find some free time
magic is a+ I'm always for involving it. and that personality thing is super interesting, I totally agree. maybe there's some sort of civil war or something as a result of the revolution and another, second kingdom seizes the opportunity and conquers the whole place. so they'd be two different people with totally different ideals and ideologies who'd fought against each other in the war but because they're both trying to bring down this other, second kingdom they have to team up temporarily or smth?

Iäm planning on starting it tonight, Iäll update you on what I think of it as I go!
yes yes! exactly! the enemy of my enemy is my ally. temporarily. reluctantly.
so many options omg! I really like them weasling their way into the ranks of the other kingdom tho bc that seems like it would involve some strategy and political intrigue which is my life blood ngl and it also leaves so many doors open. like, they could use their positions to kill or cause war or just create havoc
oooo niiice! I have no clue what I'll make mine just yet - I'm feeling something combat oriented, maybe?? idk - but I really like your idea

ahhh, I think I know what I'm going to do for a character now! I have an old character I wanna reuse bc I haven't gotten to use in way too long and I think she'll do great here. I'll have to tweak her to suit what we're doing but I have a plan involving a sarcastic, puzzle-loving mage with an eye for detail, exactly 0 chill and about the same amount of patience.

I'm so excited tbh whatever we end up doing will be great I think!
maybe we could do some kind of character description and then go from there when we decide what direction we should take it? I imagine they'll have a pretty big effect on how this whole thing plays out

and then i died and forgot
A f o n I l l a r a l o o k s -short hair (grey, soft to touch, ruffled) -unnoticeable features (pleasant but easily forgettable, green eyed) -curse scar on back (human form) -a bit too light skinned (often moves under some cloak or in cat form, never really tans) -dresses easily to fit the occasion (any status from the lowest to the highest)
a b i l i t i e s -werecat (grey tabby domestic cat) -slight mage (non combat; illusions, sense affecting) -polyglot (main 2 languages + quite a few others & dialects) -can't lie (curse or werecat trait), so they use partial truths / lie by omission
p e r s o n a l i t y -formerly: skittish, wary, squeamish, kind, passionate about whatever side of the civil war they were on -now: jaded, even warier, not fussy about blood, willing to kill, jumpy, too intelligent, endlessly adaptable -has a soft spot for any feline
h i s t o r y -recruited as an impressionable werebeast to help __ with recon / assassinations / deliveries -did Not like the war but tried hard -family killed by the other side during a raid against a town -left once the other kingdom intervened, became a mercenary to live -knows both kingdoms v well -searched out a witch dealing with time to go back to perhaps a year before the revolution / civil war starts, new body combining traits from then and future

Neith Khata
physical - tall and lithe; elegant - shoulder length, black hair. straight as arrows and thick - almond shaped, bright amber eyes - rich olive skin tone - clothes are plain but the copious amounts of jewellery - especially rings on her fingers and in her ears, sometimes bangles but rarely bracelets or necklaces - she wears is not. refuses to take it off even to blend in
personality - loves puzzles and exploration. highly intelligent; has always strived for knowledge over anything else - impatient with other people and their failures, to a somewhat lesser degree with herself, too - sarcastic and sharp. not afraid to be unkind - set in her ways and rigid when it comes to plans - appreciates curiosity in other people, dislikes just about anyone unwilling to question
history & capabilities - grew fascinated by magic at a young age and dedicated her life to mastering it - worked in exchange for secrets, education or funds for several years. made a name for herself in her kingdom long before it ever grew unsettled - fought in the war as a mage after her former mentor took up post and offered to continue to teach her if she joined him. didn't care much about the conflict itself but felt very strongly regarding the consequences of it - the conquering of her nation - worked in the resistance for a time but quickly realised it would futile. researched and worked for months before managing to transport herself to a time a few seasons before the revolution took hold - talented mage, specialises in elemental magic - good strategist, weaker when it comes to combat
