(@ Night: *snaps fingers* Gotcha! Thanks for letting me know about the relationships! uvu I just added them.)
The lights flickered once, twice, a third time before they completely shut off. Rai wasn't all too surprised that there was a blackout. That loud rumbling was just a sign for something like this to happen. An avalanche must have happened, a small spike of fear shoots through the teen at the thought. What if the hospital bad been closer to the mountain? Everyone in the town would have been killed in an instant! Panic began to spread through the room, making the Jolteon take a few steps back until he was pressed up against the wall behind the juice stands.
A loud voice fills the room and silences the panicked chatter of the villagers and the cries of the scared children. Rai looks in the direction of the voice, seeing two girls standing almost like pillars that were keeping the hospital from collapsing into chaos. They sparked with electricity, and for some reason that calmed Rai down more than their words had. He listens to them speak, nodding his head a little bit as they give directions to the people who could help out. He hadn't been living in the town for too long, but he had learned where the town's source of electricity was from many accidental wanderings to it. He couldn't help it, and neither could the other electric types who were living in Shimaka. They were just drawn to the power it gave out. He figured that his knowledge might be helpful, so when the rescuers stepped towards the door, waiting for people to show up to help, he made his way over.
It took him a moment to speak up, the sounds of the nurses giving out more instructions behind him making him nervous that they might not hear him. The volume of the voices drops slightly and he takes that as a chance to speak up. "Um, I-I know how to get to the town's generator." His voice shakes slightly, not from the cold actually but more from the nerves as he realizes exactly what he is signing up for. Going out into the blizzard. It wasn't going to be easy to get the generator.
~~~~~ Anubis might have been one of the first people to hit the panic button when the lights turned off. Ivory had stepped away from him only a moment before, and with his lack of being able to speak that did not make things easy for him at all. He couldn't see, he could speak, and he couldn't pick up on Ivory's voice over the sounds of people panicking around him. It takes him a moment to actually calm down even just enough to be able to hear her, picking up on he voice somewhere to his right. An idea comes to mind, and the Yamask frantically reaches into his backpack in a desperate attempt to find his phone. His hand touches the could outside of it and relief washes over him as he pulls it out. Anubis unlocks the screen, turns up the brightness, and holds it up over his head as a sort of beacon for Ivory. Hopefully she wasn't too far away.
Jerome quietly watched the two rescuers, not wanting to interfere. Good. At least there was some people who had a good grasp of the situation. In his life, he had learned to trust rescuers; they always knew what they were doing. It was a good thing, too, because he could still feel the small aftershocks of tension throughout the room. Heck, even that leavanny- Ranger Aspen, he remembered- seemed ready to move at any moment. The gabite silently pushed through the outskirts of the crowd in an attempt to get a better view.
Night
( OKAY YEAH LETS DO THIS ) ( D: Poor girl! ) ( Barnabus: FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE )
The child, a young man that couldn't have been older than sixteen, shot Nori a grateful glance as he bent to help her collect his things. "Thank you so much, ma'am," he said quietly, taking the items she held out as soon as his kaleidoscope was back in its case. "My bags are old, so one of them must have busted or something. . . I'm sorry for scaring you and your friend." The boy's voice was smooth and level, and unlike some of the children in the room, he didn't seem at all worried about the situation they were in. "My name is Leander. I'm a Lapras. Its nice to meet-"
Leander fell short as there was a sharp gasp beside Nori. Another boy, this one no older than ten, had joined them to help pick up the fallen items. On his hands and knees, he had grabbed up some socks and shirts that had fallen out, and was reaching out to hand them to Leander when he came face-to-face with the stuffed toy that Nori was holding for Barnabus. The boy froze as his breath forcibly, violently, left his body, but before Leander or anyone else could ask if he was okay, he shoved himself to his feet and dropped the clothes he'd been holding. "Where. . . how'd you get. . ." He took a shaky step back.
Brice had been making his way over, thinking it was rude to let Nori, whose leg was injured, do all the item-collecting, when this all happened. He frowned and reached out towards the boy, who looked to be a Cyndaquil. "Yo, kid, are you alri-"
"Stay away from me!" The kid slapped Brice's hand away from him, then spun on his heel and took off into the crowd. A small Eevee boy who had been waiting for him just a few feet away gasped. "Ira! Ira, what's wrong?" But his calls either went unheard or were plainly ignored as the cyndaquil disappeared into the crowd.
Relieved that she didn’t press the subject, Orville glanced over to the shop of interest. Flowers, huh? And so many types, too. He didn’t particularly care for them, but he wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to make a new friend. And, he had to admit flowers did smell nice; he’d gone into them back in the past, for one reason or another. Such as helping Neville out with- No, he didn’t want to think about that. “I’m down for that. Could be fun,” he told Solstice. Walking over to the entrance, he held the door open for Solstice, out of common courtesy. “After you.”
(@ Augh: Scourge is the BEST antagonist in the series and nothing will convince me otherwise soooo, hush~
Now to post these posts FROM AT LEAST HALF A YEAR AGO C: Fun times.)
Zero & Jozua Post 1 While it hadn’t been that noisy out in the streets, the chattering definitely spiked in volume as Jozua entered the building. A quick scan over the familiar sight, he didn’t waste time in making his way up to the counter. Waiting in the small line, Jozua reflected over the events of today. Lots of yelling at work, which got frustrating. Most of it was a blur, honestly. The good news was he wound up getting out early. Even after getting home and resting, there was still a lot of daytime left. Might as well get a cold smoothie and relax. The line moved fast, so it only took a few minutes before he got to place his order. “Yo, Doris, good afternoon! Mind if I get a surprise mixed berry smoothie?” It was something Jozua got almost every time he stopped by, and who knew how many times that was. And the fact that the berries were kept secret until he actually got it, that helped keep things from getting old.
Post 2 Zero was sitting at the cafe with Ross, both of them lounged in a booth with Ross doing quick gesture drawings of people as they walked in, and Zero playing a game of solitaire on his phone. They had a plate of cookies in the middle of the table, that Ross would nibble from every once in a while as he drew, and Zero had a cup of coffee while Ross had a smoothie that was almost gone. When Zero got bored, he would people watch, and that was always fun. Well, fun until his little brother pleaded with him to go up and get him another smoothie. "Ross, why can't you do it?" "Because I'm busy!" "So am I!" "Zero, pleeeease?" "Ugh, you're a brat. Fine, I'll get you a smoothie. But you're getting whatever I pick for you, no complaints." "Yay! Okay!" Zero grumbled as he rose to his feet, pocketing his phone and wandering to the line, stepping up behind a guy with long brown hair that was a bit shorter than him, and he flicked one of his ears. "Hey, I'm trying to make my brother hate me, do you have any recommendations for a really bad smoothie I could get him?" he asked, his fingers hooked in his pockets as he watched the guy, who Zero presumed to be a Linoone, in front of him. Doris had taken his order and was prepping it in the back, grabbing a handful of berries from the fridge and chopping them into slightly smaller pieces to blend together, and heard the other male speak. She decided to leave it for Jozua to answer instead, refocusing on making the smoothie for him.
Post 3 A stranger talking to him? Not like it didn’t happen before, especially at this place. Heck, there was a chance Jozua might’ve even spoke with this man before; he talked to so many people here, he wouldn’t be able to remember everyone. Although, the more Jozua looked over this man’s appearance, the more certain it was that they didn’t meet before. A classic case of sibling rivalry, huh? He hoped that wouldn’t end up happening with Locket and Wilburn; they were enough trouble looking after without fighting involved! Reshifting his thoughts, Jozua started to grin while thinking of what smoothie to suggest. He knew some stuff about how food worked, given his job was in a restaurant. He didn’t get to watch the food be made, but being a waiter, it was hard to not overhear the customers talking. Having said that… “Spelon, Belue, and Rawst berries should do the trick. Spelon berries are extremely spicy, while Belue are… sour. So sour. The chances of someone liking something both spicy and sour are already low, and if that’s not enough… the Rawst berries should throw in a bitter aftertaste.” Another option would be to just cram random berries together, but that could easily backfire. He thought about pointing out how thin the consistency should be, but he decided against it. Jozua didn’t want to give the impression that he was some sort of sadist.
Post 4 Zero listened to the suggestions and nodded his head slowly. "Oooh, perfect. Thanks man. I'm getting back at him for one, making me come up and get his smoothie for him when he's a fully grown Nidorino that has two working legs, and two, for that one time he tried to poison me because I borrowed his pencil without asking. What a brat," he scoffed. Doris came back out with Jozua's smoothie and slid it across the counter. "One mixed berry smoothie, with Oran, Pecha, and Bluk berries, and I'll get to making your order in a moment, dear," she pointed at Zero, who grinned. "Thank's Doris, you're the best. I'm assuming you heard his suggestions?" Zero chuckled. "I'm Zero, by the way, and my brat of a brother is Ross, if you ever run into him," he offered his hand out with a hum, his eyes still twinkling mischievously.
Post 5 Attempting to poison someone over borrowing a pencil? Jozua wasn't sure whether to laugh or be afraid. Settling for a nervous chuckle, he said, "must have been an important pencil." Poison-types weren’t ones to be messed with, from what Jozua experienced in the past. When Doris placed Jozua’s drink on the counter, he didn’t waste time in showing appreciation. “Sounds like it’ll be great. Thanks!” After placing the required payment on the counter, Jozua took a sip of the smoothie. Several flavors blended together, although a bittersweet taste gave the most impact. He had to remember this combination, it was more than good enough to order again! “Name’s Jozua. Nice to meet you,” he replied to Zero before completing the handshake. “And thanks for the warning, I’ll keep an eye out for him.” The look in Zero’s made it clear that he cared for his brother. Seems pretty typical; siblings that argue at times, but always there for each other when it counts.Nonetheless, it was a heartwarming thought, for the most part. “Wait, actually… why not just introduce me to him now?” He may or may not have been curious about seeing how Ross would react to that smoothie. Not to mention Jozua didn’t have anything to do; may as well take the time to make new acquaintances, or even friends.
(@ Minior: Here it is~ Slightly less bad than most of my starters lol.)
The legendary sat on a bench in the middle of town, munching away on a bag of potato chips while watching people walk by. A boring way to past time, but it wasn’t like Cyril was able to find anyone to fight recently. So, he wound up going to get lunch, and now he had a leftover snack to take care of because of it. Maybe he’d take a nap or something, afterwards… but not on a bench. At least, not in an area with so many people. He didn't need to deal with someone trying to sneak up on him while he wanted to relax. Sure, Shimaka was relatively a peaceful place, but no town went without dangerous characters.
Roland had just ended his shift at his family's music store and was making his way down the street, coat on and hood up to block out the slightly chilly wind. He moved swiftly, wanting to get some lunch before he got to his house, when he saw a familiar figure off towards the middle of town. Sitting on a bench was Cyril the Yveltal, the Pokemon that Roland had battled just a week before. The last thing he remembered from that day was a really angry looking man appearing with his baby brother Callistus before everything went dark. . . and he relived his father's dark, bleary funeral through his nightmares. When he'd woken up, he, Cal, and his sister had been strewn about the front room with Cyril and the strange man no-where to be found. To be honest. . . he wasn't happy about what had happened. Which is probably why he just bolted down towards Cyril. "Hey!!" he yelled, starting to skid to a halt when he was nearly at the legendary's side. "What the heck, man?!"
@ Minior: Cyril turned his head over to Roland, instantly recognizing the Flaaffy. Someone he met once, had lunch together, battled… then Malakai came along and completely ruined things. Not out of spite, or anything; he just thought Cyril was in danger. Nothing wg with that. However, Cyril felt a bit surprised to see Roland actually look angry. It wasn’t like he got injured or anything. Malakai just made them fall asleep! Well, Cyril had been upset at first too, but it wasn’t a big deal, and a whole week had gone by. But it appeared that Roland didn't agree. “Hey, that’s no way to greet someone you’ve only met once,” he scoffed. He paused, before deciding to throw out an apology for something he did admit was a mistake. “Sorry that I took off without saying bye. I didn’t exactly want to, but…” He wasn’t going to argue with Malakai about that. Not at that time.
Roland crossed his arms as he listened to what Cyril had to say, forcing himself to stay quiet until the very end. Once he was sure that the legendary was finished, he grit his teeth for a moment, jaw clenched; then he let out a long sigh and said, "I'm not mad that you left without saying anything." He sat down beside the boy he had battled days before, ignoring the fact he hadn't been invited to do so. "Its the fact that your friend, whoever the guy was that put us to sleep, gave us all really horrible nightmares." He pushed the images of his sobbing sisters and dull mother back to the inner depths of his mind. "My sister woke up crying. My brother woke up thinking someone had ripped his throat open!"
@ Minior: “That was my brother,” Cyril explained, getting a bit defensive. “He didn’t do it on purpose! He just got carried away when he saw our battle, jumped to the wrong conclusion... and tried to protect me the way he knew how.” The legendary, on one hand, didn’t exactly care that mortals got upset over a few nightmares, but he didn’t want to have any bad relationships with the townspeople either. And he did understand that their lives were much shorter; they probably didn’t want to deal with negative experiences more than necessary. He let out a sigh. “I can understand why you’re upset, but I can’t apologize for what someone else did, either.” Cyril finished off the last of his chips, crumpling up the bag with one hand. “What about your nightmare?” Probably not the smartest question to ask, but curiosity got the better of him. “How bad was it?”
Roland turned a little so that he was facing Cyril more. At least with Cyril's explanation, he knew that the guy hadn't done what he had for no reason, but it still irked him that the two had just left! Well, it didn't seem to be Cyril's fault. Knowing this information now, Roland's tense shoulders started to sag. "I see. I'm sorry for yelling at you, then; I just didn't know what his deal was." He was caught off guard when the legendary asked about his nightmare. It was a kind of personal thing to him, his father's funeral. . . but who could it hurt to tell Cyril the level of nightmare he'd had? "I dreamt of my father's funeral," he said briefly. He didn't mind sharing it, but it wasn't something he wanted to dwell on. "Lots of bad emotions there. ...wait, I thought legendaries weren't related to anyone?"
For the first couple seconds Rai had been standing there, Alaska and Lumi didn't notice him. It wasn't until the boy spoke up that the two turned their gazes onto him, Alaska cocking her head to the side curiously at his nervousness and Lumi blinking slightly at the shakiness in his voice. He seemed to be maybe a bit younger than the two, maybe like a year or so, and it also looked like he mustered up a lot of courage to talk to them. The two exchanged glances for a moment, their matching blue eyes shining out in the darkness, before Alaska began grinning, "Awesome! You can tag along with Lumi, she'll be a lot easier to deal with if you're nervous." she explained before hurrying away to gather up her group, trying to find someone there who could also lead them to the generator. Because they were splitting up, they would need two people, which wouldn't probably be that hard. Look how fast it was finding the Jolteon standing in front of them.
Lumi smiled slightly at Rai, stuffing her hands into her sweater pockets that matched the patterns and face of a pikachu, "You don't have to be nervous, you know. We're going to go in a group, and though I might need you at the front, if we stick together as a group no one will get lost or hurt." she had done these type of things multiple times, of course, sometimes even worse than the first time. She suddenly realized she didn't really know his name, and then removed her hand from her pocket, sticking it out in front of her, "I'm Lumi, by the way, if you didn't catch my name earlier." Alaska did sometimes speak too fast, which was something Lumi always ended up apologizing for, "What's yours?" she needed to know his name if he was going to be her right hand man for this adventure, and so that if he got too nervous, she could feel less like a stranger and more comfortable to him instead.
The longer Ivory couldn't find Anubis, the more she panicked. He was so small and fragile in a way that, even though it was oddly charming to her, might be bad for the situation at hand. He could be trampled if worse came to worse, and no one would hear him because he couldn't speak. She pushed her way through the crowd a bit, sliding her way easily around people as she was smaller, flexible, and skinny enough to slink around unnoticed. She'd left him here just a moment ago... He couldn't have gone far- Oh! The bright light of something near by caught her attention, and as Ivory looked at it, she recognized it as a cellphone. Who used a cellphone all the time? Just the boy she was looking for. So, quickly, she made her way through the ground, almost toppling over people in her path unlike before, until she could see the smaller gijinka standing in the middle of the crowd. She practically launched herself at him, wrapping her arms around his head and pulling him to her instantly, "Anubis. You nearly gave me a heart attack." she said quietly, hugging him for a bit before looking into his face, "Don't ever leave me again, okay?~" she said playfully, but in the faint light of some of the pokemon around them and Anubis's phone, Ivory's eyes showed worry and panic, truly scared for her little friend.
