Roselight lifted her gaze at last. It seemed that their views on life and death differed greatly. But that didn't mean that he was a bad cat. It was the way he grew up. He didn't have to dress her wounds with cobweb, he didn't have to offer her shelter, but he did. The tom most certainly had more to him than endless warfare. She leaned up against him, enjoying the feel of their fur touching. Perhaps... perhaps things could change. "Whatever your past might have been, I love the cat you are inside," she murmured into his ear.

Yew finally relaxed a little, letting out a short sigh out relief. "I love you too, Roselight." He purred, trying to take his mind off of the conversation they just had. He wished he had happier stories to tell her, but up until he came to this forest he had lived a hard life. The hardest things he had to do know was try and stay away from any clan patrols and manage to successfully hunt once in a while so he didn't starve.

The poor tom had very little chance to experience love out beyond the clans. That was why it was all the more important that she give him all of hers. Roselight rubbed her head against him, as if she could give him all of her love by simply touching him. His past might have been dark and filled with loneliness, but now she would do whatever she could to ensure that his future could be filled with love and joy. "I'm glad you came here," she purred softly.

Yew pressed his head against hers, purring. "I'm glad you brought me, it's wonderful here." He mewed softly, then threw himself down on his side and licked Roselight's belly. "You're the best, Roselight." The loner stayed on his side, taking a moment to admire the beautiful she-cat next to him. It was nice to have someone he could be this close with, having grown accustomed to living a life where even your friends might turn on you if there was something to gain. He could get used to this kind of life.

Roselight smiled, and admired him in return. Her gaze trailed across him until it rested on his short shadow. Alarm flashed in her gaze and she abruptly stood, glancing up to note the position of the sun. "It's getting late. I must head back now," she informed him, her voice carrying a tinge of sadness. "I will return though. I will always return to you."

Yew sighed, but nodded in agreement. "Stay safe, I'll be waiting for you." He mewed, flashing a grin as he watched her go. It hurt him to have to stand by and watch her leave, but he knew if was for the best. Their lives wouldn't be made any easier if someone from NightClan were to catch on. The tom slowly rose to his paws and looked out over the cliff, figuring he could spend a bit of time watching the sun go down before he went back to his den.

The journey down was long and tedious. One wrong step, and it would be difficult to keep from slipping all the way down. Roselight glanced back up to the direction that she came from. She hoped Yew would get down alright. Suddenly her paw slipped and she yowled before tumbling down the last three tail-lengths, right into a snowbank. Grumbling to herself, and hoping Yew hadn't noticed, she stood and shook the cold snow free from her pelt.

Yew's ears pricked up at Roselight's yowl, and the tom quickly whipped around to face her. It didn't take him very long to get to the bottom, but that was because he was sliding down the whole way, unable to find any kind of traction. "You alright, Roselight?" The tom called out, hoping she hadn't hurt herself. When he came to the bottom of the cliff, Yew was moving rather quickly. He did just slide down the entire way, bringing him to a speed the tom could never even dream of achieving just by running. He didn't quite make it to the snowbank, instead hitting the cold ground with a loud 'thud'. "Roselight?"

Roselight whipped her head around at his voice along with a lot of other noise as he slid down the hill. Her eyes went round in horror as she saw him sliding down full speed and thud to the cold ground a couple tail-length's away from her. "I'm here, Yew!" she called, rushing over to him. She quickly circled him, before touching her nose to his shoulder. "I'm fine, I was just caught off guard. It was a short fall. Are you alright?" she mewed in rushed words, looking him over, trying to make sure nothing was broken.

Yew was a bit shaky getting to his paws, still dazed from smacking his head on the ground like that. Along with the rest of his body. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." It was a good thing he had a thick skull, seeing as that was the first part of him that hit the ground. "You know, that was actually pretty fun right up to the part where I hit the ground. I don't think I've ever been that fast." He brushed up against Roselight, smiling. "Sorry about that...I'll see you later," The loner mewed while licking her cheek.

Seeing that he was alright, she rubbed her head against his one final time. "You silly reckless furball..." she purred, her eyes shining in admiration for the tom who would hurl himself down an steep icy slope for her. Pulling back she padded away. "I'll see you soon," she echoed in response, tail flicking in farewell, before she padded back across the clan border and in the direction of her clan.

"See you Roselight." Yew watched her for a moment, then turned and started off towards his den. He quickly remembered he still had some of that squirrel that Roselight brought, and his belly started to growl as he moved a little quicker. Now he wouldn't even have to bother going hunting, which was a good thing because the loner was pretty sure he wasn't going to pull off a successful hunt after that fall. Or before that fall for that matter.

The prey had come out now that the day had progressed. On her way back, Roselight caught a white rabbit near the Dayclan border, and carried it back to camp with her. Once she was in camp, she carried it to the the pile and set it neatly on the top before grabbing one of the frozen peices of prey from the bottom. As she gnawed on it, she glanced around camp and felt... lonely. It seemed lonelier without Yew there with her.

|| Spikepaw || Tom || Apprentice || Spikepaw is heavily built with brown streaks across his darker brown coat. He has long fur and a long tail, and brown eyes. His leg is paralized due to a hard fall from a tree. || He won't do anything if he doesn't have to, he hates hunting because of his paralized leg, but other than that, he is nice in a gruff way. || Idk || His fall from a tree that paralized him? Other than that idk || None || Paws || (( Sorry about the full image, Rabbit, I'm not on my computer right now ))

(( Alright, got it up! ))
Spikepaw sat silently in his den. He trembled. He had a chill down his spine, like a Dark Forest cat was breathing down his neck. Spikepaw swiveled his head and sent his tongue all the way down his back. But that didn't help. He shivered and curled back up.

Yew made his way back to his den, managing to only get lost a couple of times along the way. Once there he dragged what was left of the squirrel over to his nest, and plopped down to finish the meal. He curled up to go to sleep, though he found it hard without Roselight there. The whole den seemed empty and cold. The loner sighed, there was nothing he could do to be with her. Short of sneaking into the NightClan camp and popping into the warriors’ den at least. He considered it briefly, but Yew knew that it wouldn’t be worth all the trouble it would cause for both of them.

(What if the next time Yew and Roselight meet, some cat from his past tracks Yew down for killing someone close to them, so that they could get revenge on Yew. What do you think?)

It was as dark as night, but on the distant horizon, a hint of light showed that the sun would rise very soon. An orange classical tabby she-cat with a white muzzle and tail tip lead three young grown cats towards the direction of NightClan. She stopped at the base of a steep incline and her eyes widened as she scented what she had been searching for, for several moons now. "Yes... At last! After all this time, I've found it again," she spun around to face her children with a wicked grin. "And it's fresh!" A black tom dappled with orange stepped forwards to smell the scent of the cat who killed his father, and he stiffened. "Mother, there's another cat," he told her, standing up straight. "Another..? Interesting," the she-cat murmured thoughtfully as she followed the scent trail to Yew's den.
Roselight's eyes flashed open. The she-cat had a habit of waking quickly. What? It was still dark outside? Why did she wake up? She stood and stretched. Her thoughts wandering to Yew. What if she came early to his den? She could slip into his nest with him while he was sleeping and surprise him when he woke up. Her eyes gleaming in the joy of her plan, she headed out.
