With ebony fur as dark as the night, accurately reflecting the color of this hostile feline, Owlwatcher has menacing crimson-colored eyes. Aside from his right ear which is tipped in white, the lanky tom has sleek, well-groomed, pure black fur. For most of his life, Owlwatcher was a dedicated and selfless tom that was steadfast in his loyalty to his clanmates, the warrior code, and his duty as a medicine cat. He had the honor of possessing a great reputation, recognized for a wisdom often remarked to be beyond his years. In his youth, he possessed an ardent passion for learning, especially from his mentors and predecessors, and in his adulthood, applied his knowledge to good use as one of the two medicine cats for his clan. Still, even after maturing, he continued taking every opportunity to gain more knowledge. Owlwatcher was fully aware that one never truly stopped learning. This kind heart came only after tragedy struck the tom when he was merely a kit: both his parents died shortly after he and his only littermate were kitted. Without parents, the tom felt he had lost his identity and grieved for a long period of time. During this time, the tom distanced himself from his clanmates, finding solace only in his brother who understood his pain. However, all this changed on the eve of his apprenticeship, when the young tom had a dream where he thought his parents came to visit him. Owlwatcher thought he had been visited by StarClan, and thus requested permission to study to become a medicine cat. From that night onward, Owlwatcher's aloof personality completely turned over a new leaf. He matured into an enthusiastic and zealous apprentice, then into an observant and intelligent tom. Whenever asked by his clanmates about the sudden change, Owlwatcher would always answer that StarClan and his faith had saved him. All this time, he remained incredibly close to his brother, who would be named Heronwing. The two trusted each other wholeheartedly and would often converse in their free time. As a medicine cat, Owlwatcher would also often put his power of walking into dreams to use, checking on his clanmates whenever he could and making sure that none strayed from the warrior code and StarClan. Eventually, a challenge presented itself to the faithful medicine cat, in the form of a she-cat he had grown up alongside. She confessed his admiration for him and he, surprisingly, felt the same way. Ever resolute in his loyalty to the warrior code, however, he rejected her feelings and only watched from the distance as she mourned and then took another tom as her mate. Confused by these feelings that he knew he shouldn't have, Owlwatcher decided the only thing to do was to see StarClan. He traveled to the Starry Cavern alone and shared tongues with AetherClan's ancestors, who reassured him of his choice to reject the she-cat. His love had to be reserved for the clan, not just one cat. Determined more than ever to be the best medicine cat he could be, Owlwatcher optimistically returned to camp a few days later, as the journey took awhile... only to learn from the other medicine cat that his brother had suddenly and mysteriously taken ill during his absence, and had passed away only a short while before Owlwatcher's return. His brother, who Owlwatcher had shared everything with, gone. The tom once again withdrew into himself, just as he had as a kit, wondering why StarClan had chosen to take love and family away from him when all he had ever wanted was to serve them to the end. Finally, he could come to only one conclusion: StarClan was his enemy, and he would defy their decree of mortality. His first treasonous act was to kill the other medicine cat - they had been prying too much, asking him if he was okay and trying to reassure him. But then he realized the whole clan was full of cats just like the other medicine cat - two-faced liars who didn't care at all that his brother had died, only half-heartedly giving him their condolences. And so, to declare war on StarClan, he declared war on his clanmates. The rest of Owlwatcher's life remains in obscurity, other than that he haunted the dreams of his clanmates using the power of a medicine cat, committing such heinous acts that he joined the Dark Forest upon death. This Dark Forest cat has become very different from the kind-hearted tom he once was; now, Owlwatcher is arrogant and manipulative. He flaunts his intelligence to those around him. However, though he has incredible faith in his own skill, this malice-filled tom is also incredibly cowardly. His only goal in the afterlife is to defy mortality, so he fears dying a second time as that would leave his revenge unfinished - if he feels his life in danger, he will run away without hesitating. Whenever he gets the chance, this tom will walk in the dreams of AetherClan cats in an attempt to corrupt their thoughts. He seeks revenge, and he will go to any lengths to obtain it.
