(Well, I suck at playing females, so it's time I try and practice them. I'll add Marissa up shortly.)
Nathan could hear the vibrations coming from the giant, still feeling unsure. There were certain risks he'd be taking, she'd be taking. But it was worth a shot. "Marissa, I know this is a bit scary, but it's worth furthering our cause." Marissa was absolutely frightened. But she was with Nathan, and she understood his reasoning. "Alright, I'll do it for you, brother." She then hugged him, and made her way outside. Nathaniel followed, wanting to at least watch.
Shaking his head, James looked at her. "No! I won't fight you, not anymore. Because the only place I can go from here is death, and I'm not willing to kill you." He yelled, looking at her axe. Neither one of their weapons were capable of killing. But James was packing a gold tipped weapon, he had to have for finishing. "You want to fight, fight somebody else."
(Alright, honestly, though, I think James is going to be in the mindset of trying to avoid the fight. Fighting only when he needs to. I don't know how willing to kill Nathan is, but he'll definitely kill her easier than James will.) |

Toby almost had a football hit his head so he yanked his headphones out and stopped his humming and movements. He began angrily yelling at the kids for almost hitting his head. But once they apologized he nodded and tossed the football back. He sighed and lifted his head up to look at the sky. "Foolish kids," he whispered.
Devessa blinked slowly and registered what he said. "Okay," she said and put her axe away. She then slowly made her way to her old friend. She cupped his cheeks with her hands to get him to look her directly in the eyes. "I miss you," she murmured and smiled lightly. "Do you think once this war is over, we could become friends again?" She questioned him. Her eyes were lightening up and were emotionless.

Nathan was having third and fourth thoughts at this point. This was his sister's life. And while he didn't seem to be really harming anybody, he wasn't sure if he could be trusted. But before he could change his mind, Marissa was already approaching his leg, placing her hand out.
Marissa thought to the man, "Hello?"
"I'd like to believe we could be friends... But war changes people. I don't even know how this is going to end, nor do you. One or both of us may die... But I miss you." Sighing, he looked around the area, making sure nobody was around. "Devessa, why do you want such a stupid thing? Do you know what will happen if the giants discover us? I don't, but I can't imagine it'll be good. There must've been a reason the elders haven't allowed it for 1000s of years." |

Toby rubbed his leg. "These bugs are coming around again, or maybe just my imagination." The young man mumbled. He looked around to see if he could spot the annoyance but couldn't find it. Well wasn't like he was trying to look for it that hard.
Devessa sighs. "So we hide for the rest of our lives and live in fear? I'd rather not," she told him. She stepped away and put her hands on her hips. "Don't you go off talking like your a war veteran already Debby Downer!" She raised a thin pale finger to him. She smiled and closed her eyes.

Marissa was nearly smashed as the giant rubbed his leg. She made it out of the way just in time though. "Marissa, perhaps this wasn't a good idea. He isn't our guy." Nathan said to his younger sister. She shook her head however. "He'll come around, it'll just take time." Nathan just took her hand though, and led her back inside the tree. "I don't want to risk you getting lost. Not you. We'll wait for somebody better."
James sighed back at her, "We're not living in fear! We're living in safety. I'm not afraid of any damn giants. But I'd rather keep things safe, by not aggravating them." Taking a deep breath, he shook his head at her. "I'm not a veteran, but you just know these things. At least I do." He couldn't return his smile, because this was all weighing on his mind. |

Something moving between the blades of grass caught the blue eye of Toby. "Hmm?" He leaned down closer and narrowed his eyes. Then they quickly widened. He wrapped his hand around the two figures he picked up. Which happened to be Nathan and Marissa. He brought the duo closer to his face. "Tiny people.." he murmured. Interesting he thought.
Devessa groaned and threw her hands up. "It's not even worth arguing with you about it." She grumbled and looked the other direction. She went to the dandelion and lightly kicked at the stem. "Besides, neither of our views are going to change." She rested her head against the stem. "We're both protectors," she glanced over at him. "Of our own opinions."

Nathan and Marissa thought they were safe, when suddenly, a hand descended upon them. Hearing his voice, as well as his thoughts, panic rose in both their chests. While their goal was to communicate with giants, something about this one seemed foreboding. Before Nathan could do anything else though, Marissa lunged forward, shoving Nathan off of the giant's hand. She was doing it to save him.
"You're right, it's not worth arguing. We'll never change our opinions, so we're going to end up being enemies. However, I do not want to fight you. I don't want to kill you. So, make me this promise Dev. As long as this war wages on, let's avoid each other as much as possible. For both of our own safety." James said, somewhat with a heavy heart. |

Toby continued to examine the little person. "It's quite impressive on how tiny you are," he mumbled. His blue eyes just stared at Marissa before narrowing. "I thought there was two of you?"
{ i apologize about how short i am being with toby, i'm just not used to male characters.n;-; }
Devessa nodded and moved back towards him. She pinched his cheek, "of course J!" she chirped with a big grin on her face. She stopped pinching his cheek and put her hands behind her back. She looked at him with sadness again. It devastated the young woman that she lost her friend due to this outbreak of war. "More to come probably too..." she whispered to herself, meaning that she was going to lose a whole lot more friends probably soon.

Marissa just kind of glared up at the man. She wondered if her brother made it out okay.
Nathan looked up, wanting to go help his sister, but he knew she wouldn't want that. And she was tough, she'd figure something out. He had to get away from that giant, for now.
( It's okay. Although, you know, you didn't have to make a male character if you weren't up for it. I don't really have a rule about genders for characters, because I know I personally don't play females well, so I don't want to make people play characters they aren't used to. )
"Dev..." And then he said something that probably sounded really traitorous. However, nobody was around right now, so... "You'll always be my friend. Even in the middle of this war. I just want to keep you safe, because if it wasn't just me, I'd have no choice but to kill you, or stand by as somebody else did. And I couldn't do that." He explained, sighing. There was a sadness lingering in his eyes. Leaning forward, he kissed her cheek gently, a sign of friendship.

Toby raised an eyebrow. "Can you understand me?" He questioned her, but only whispering. Probably not but worth a try, he thought. "If you can understand me, can you please tell me who you are and what you are?"
A light pink blush appeared on her pale cheeks. The feisty female does sometimes gets embarrassed. "Oh James are you trying to win me over?" She teased with a playful grin. Devessa patted his chest and then ran her hand through her hair. "To be honest you contradict yourself sometimes. Saying war changes people to the point where they may not be able to be friends but then going and saying that, that person will always be your friend." She murmured.

"Who do you think you are, to just pick us up like that?" Was the only thought she would give the gigantic man. She didn't feel comfortable around him, and Marissa was beginning to get anxious.
"I don't know, I know I do, but well, my emotions are very confl-" James was cut off by Nathan running towards them. He tumbled over as Nathan ran into him. "Devessa! I'll save you." Doing his best to pin the rather large Mini down, Nathan began digging through his leaf-strewn pockets, hoping to find his golden blade. One swift stab through the chest should alleviate the problem. |

"What was I supposed to do?" Toby retorted. "Just shrink down to your size and be like hey whats up? No that's not how science works." He huffed and rolled his eyes.
"Nathan!" Devessa gasped and quickly grabbed his arm to stop him from hurting James more. She yanked him off and stood between the two. "Don't you think I can handle myself?!" She hissed at him. The red-head moved her hands onto her hips. "I don't need any saving mister high and mighty!" She glared at him out of frustration. "Also don't you think it's a little unfair to attack him on a two against one?" She questioned.

Thinking quick on her feet, she began to think of a way to save her friends and family. "Yeah, well you've caught me, what're you going to do. I'm the only one of my kind." She figured if she lied, then the giant would have no reason to try and search for the rest of them. She was getting the wrong sort of vibes, especially when he said the word 'science'.
Getting back up, and dusting himself off, James could only glare intently at Nathan. This was his opportunity to take out one of the leaders of the alliance cause. But he wasn't ready to risk Devessa in the process. Meanwhile, Nathan looked angrily at Devessa. "Fair? What do you think this is, fun and games? This is war, where the stronger wins. Where numbers win. We can't just not fight him because it's 'unfair'." |

"You're a really bad liar," Toby murmured and sighed. "I know there are more of you cause I saw two things. Two of you," his blue eyes stared intently at the mini. All he was is curious.
Devessa pointed an accusing finger at Nathan. "Do you want to be known as the prick that took down a guy because there was another person or do you want to be known as the guy that earns respect by fighting him one on one?" She muttered. She stomped her leg forward in annoyance but winced slightly from her little wound that she got earlier from James. She quickly erased the look of pain into anger. "Which you would not be taking this fight because its mine!" She growled. "So bud out!"

"Fine, you've caught me. There's one more, my brother. Do what you want with me, but leave him out of this." The truth was... Marissa wasn't even all that invested in this fight. She would've rather stuck to the shadows too, but everything she did, she did to make her big brother proud. He was the one who took care of her after all. Now it was her turn to take care of him.
"Okay, you know what, fine. You do things how you want, and when he stabs you in the back, and kills you, you can tell me how respectful it is to fight one on one. Because this is war, we don't play fair. But I have bigger concerns right now, much bigger concerns." Turning and storming off, Nathan began thinking about his sister again. Meanwhile, James looked at Devessa, one of his famous sighs coming out. "As much as I despise his guts, he's right, you know?" |

"I'm just curious. It's not normal for me to find penny sized people." He replied. Toby scratched the back of his neck. "I don't want to hurt you, just curious." he gave an awkward smile.
Devessa released a huge sigh and rubbed her face. She turned to James and gave a look. "Maybe I'm just in denial," she said and rubbed the back of her head. She gave an slanted grin and patted his head. "I'll be fine though, I'll make it." She then turned on her heels and looked where Nathan stormed off to. "I'm gonna get a talk down when I go back" she frowned. "What a drag."

Due to the lack of growth, and me not feeling satisfied with the work I've put in here, I'm going to be shutting down this roleplay. I'm sorry karma, although I do have intentions of starting a newer and better roleplay. We'll see how that pans out. |
