Timberlegs gave Icerose a sidelong glance, the she-cat looked anything but fine, but something told him that she wasn’t about to admit that. He didn’t say anything back, just gave a grunt of acknowledgment as they trekked on, their paws sloshing on the damp and muddy earth. Timberlegs tried not to let it show, but he too was feeling miserable and cold and his paws felt exhausted. The Tom looked at their surroundings, pools were forming on the ground and even the undergrowth looked miserable, he shivered and wondered how much more the river had swelled. It was dangerous then but he couldn’t imagine how it was now. A sudden flash of lightning followed by a loud crack of thunder made him jump and startled him out of his thought. They still had a ways to go until they made it back to camp and the weather was not looking good, with how cold they were and how awful the storm was it was not safe to be out here. Timberlegs let out a sigh. “I think we should try to take shelter, it’s too dangerous to be out here.” He declared, turning to Icerose. “We can at least try to dry off for a bit and then hope for a break in the weather to make it the rest of the way back.” (here you go *Spottedpelt* ! I actually have no idea what they should do rn and for that im sorry xD i pretty sure i remember we were going to get them trapped and hiding together from the storm for a bit though? lmk what you think~ ]
Icerose felt relieved when Timberlegs didn't question her. Truth be told she felt terrible, her fur was soaked through, she was chilled to the bone, and she could feel her energy being drained by the cold. But she remained stubborn despite the slow onset of hypothermia and kept moving forward, though sluggish. She looked to the canopy of trees above with a listless expression. We're nowhere near camp. The realization of their current situation made the she-cat feel a bit.... scared? She shook her head inwardly at the thought, as if i'd be scared! But just as she was thinking so she was snapped back to reality by the sudden bolt of light, nearly jumping the same as her companion. Her heart was racing now and she looked to Timberlegs with genuine concern. "If we're going to do that, we need to find higher ground somewhere - and fast," She replied seriously, looking pointedly to the pooling water puddles that mottled the territory grounds around them. Icerose tried to think of anywhere they could go that was in the area but the she-cat couldn't recall anything. Her mind was starting to become muddled from the chill in her bones. Given her small and short stature, that also made it difficult for her to identify a good place for them even now as she scanned their surroundings. They couldn't stay here for much longer though, that much she knew. |

(Apologies for the late reply but here ya go 🎃❅❖.Şp໐໐kฯຟiຖ໓.❖❅🎃 ! I finally got the reply finished after working on it for too dang long haha.) ~Timberlegs~The look of concern in Icerose’s eyes as she turned to him surprised Timberlegs, this was not like the fiery and proud she-cat he knew, and he was troubled by this and he felt a sudden worry for her. This in turn surprised him. Besides his siblings Cedarstripes and Willowsong, Timberlegs had never really felt a connection with anyone, his cold and distant nature didn’t help either. But here he felt a connection with Icerose, two stubborn cats stuck together in a life threatening situation having to work together to survive. Timberlegs gave her a nod, higher ground was definitely a good idea. “Agreed.” He said with a sense of determination and urgency flickering in his eyes. He raised his head and scanned their surroundings, his eyes straining against the rain and the wind. There had to be someplace near them that was higher ground, with the storm raging around them it was hard to get a feel of the territory. A glimmer of hope ran through Timberlegs as his eyes locked onto an area to their right, the earth seemed to slope upwards and he could see what looked like the outlines of large rocks, maybe a place to shelter? “There!” The tom exclaimed, raising a paw in the direction of where the ground sloped upward. “That looks like our best option at the moment and we can only hope that we can find some shelter there until this StarClan forsaken storm eases up. What do you think?” he asked turning to Icerose. |

Willowsong had definitely noticed his little... mistake... judging by the way she was looking at him, tail over her mouth to surreptitiously hide her expression. From what little Lionheart knew of his colleague (something he hoped to change in the near future!), he figured that she was far from the judgmental type, but it was still embarrassing in hindsight. He felt the tension leaving his body as she responded gently, half-expecting a rebuke no matter how kind, and nodded. "Thanks," he replied, relieved as he bunched up the now sullied nest material together and moved it away. Sure, maybe the occupant wouldn't notice the dampness given the weather, but he would know, and it wasn't worth feeling guilty when he could simply right his wrongdoing now. Overdramatic? Probably. Okay, yeah. Definitely. But it never hurt anyone to be thorough. Putting the old moss aside, he padded over to the corner of the cave where, true to Willowsong's word, there was a pile of extra moss, gathering some together - carefully, this time, lest he get it wet again! - and then returning to her side and dropping it. "You were really thorough," he commented afterwards, meaning it as a compliment. "I wouldn't have thought to gather any more moss than needed." The way that she looked out for her fellow warriors was admirable, he thought to himself, and something he could learn from her. Whether she got any thanks for it, though... somehow, he doubted it. After all, she was only replacing the bedding now, whilst most of the warriors were elsewhere, whether they were out and about in camp or struggling through the rain. Not many would come into the den, notice the moss had been replaced, and think to themselves "Willowsong did that!". And so, Lionheart found himself saying, "Thanks for looking out for everyone like this," as if that would make up for all the words of gratefulness that she would miss from the others.
