Nova let out a shriek and launched herself across the grass, her claws extended and her pelt bristling. Her lips were drawn back in a snarl as she flashed past the fox, slicing her claws down its side. She felt a spark of triumph as the fox bellowed out in pain, but her relief was short-lived. The fox spun around as she flew past and managed to sink its fangs into her tail, causing agony to course through her veins. She let out a furious yowl and tore her tail free, landing clumsily on all four paws and spinning around to face her assailant. She was breathing hard and she could feel her tail begin to sting. How on earth would she be able to escape this situation?

The cool breeze that ruffled her fur was enough for Daisy to know that leaf fall was coming, and it wouldn't be long before it was in full affect. With a sigh, the she-cat arched her spine and brushed her flank along the side of a bush, scratching the itch that had been bothering her. The sound of a shriek in the distance made her ears perk up, green eyes bright with anticipation. Without saying a word, the slender feline raced towards the noise, paws drumming on the ground beneath her as she flung herself to the battle. Upon spotting the vicious creature and a battered looking cat. Bunching her muscles, Daisy flung herself, claws outstretched at the fox's rear end, crashing into it with a snarl. She slashed her paws out and sunk her fangs right into the fluffy tail of the fox. She chuckled as it wailed out in pain, spinning around to face her, but Daisy was too swift for the dumb animal, as she sprung back. She curled her lip and growled lowly, tail tip twitching as she dared the fox to come near her. "Hey! Get it from behind!" she hissed out to the she-cat as she had the fox's attention.

Nova's sides heaved as she fought for breath, the fox bearing down on her like it knew she was fading. Just when she was about to give up, she saw a lithe form flash across her vision and throw itself at the predator, giving her time to recover. She watched this newcomer's fighting ability, admiring the strength that she noticed in the cat's lean muscles. As soon as the stranger was crouching near the fox and gave her the order to attack, Nova didn't hesitate for more than a heartbeat. Letting out a furious hiss, she launched herself at the fox's hindquarters, slashing her claws deep into the crimson fur. The fox let out a bellow of agony and spun around, fangs bared as it prepared to take a bite out of Nova's flank. Nova jumped out of the way just in time to hear the fox's jaws snap shut where her head had been just seconds before. She rolled onto the ground and bumped into a tree nearby the newcomer, feeling her energy drain quickly from her limbs. She glanced once at the stranger that had saved her from certain death before painfully hauling herself to her paws. She was in no condition to fight this foe any longer, and yet she realized with a sinking heart that the fox was still stalking toward the two rogues, its fangs dripping with the blood from Nova's tail.

Eyes bright and fur fluffed up in excitement, Daisy clearly was ready for the attack, moving her body side to side as her gaze pierced the fox's. Just as the fox launched out at the pair, Daisy dove onto her stomach and slashed at the soft skin of the attackers belly, feeling the crimson blood slide down her claws. Snarling, she darted out from under it, but the fox was able to snag a hefty paw and hit the she's chest, causing her to huff in response. Digging her claws into the ground, the feline stalked toward the fox, trying to keep its attention off Nova. As the pair circled each other, Daisy swiped out her paws a few times, clawing at the fox. She watched its strength diminish as it realized Daisy wasn't going to give up. The red creature began moving backward as the she-cat snarled loudly, slashing a claw at the fox's muzzle. With a wince, the fox turned tail and began to sprint off, Daisy on it's tail. She chased it to the edge of the clearing, yowling in triumph before giving up the chase and flicking her tail tip happily, blood trickling down her shoulder and chest.

Nova watched as this newcomer launched herself into the path of danger, shocked that this stranger was even helping her. All of the rogues that Nova had met in her life had been greedy and had never truly helped her. Sure, a scrap of leftover food here and there from a rogue that was semi-friendly had helped, but no cat she knew would throw itself into battle with a fox just to save her. She could feel her energy ebbing even more, just barely keeping herself awake long enough to watch the stranger chase off the fox. Knowing that she was safe from the threat of the predator allowed her to relax some, but she still remained wary of this new cat. She was in no shape after the fox attack to take on a muscular rogue, but this was the territory near her den, and Nova knew she had to defend it. She struggled to seep enough energy into her muscles to stand up and face this stranger, but her legs gave out from under her a heartbeat later. She was breathing hard and she was bleeding from a semi-deep cut on her shoulder, not to mention her tail stung like fury. She kept an eye on the rogue helplessly through half-lidded eyes, trying her best not to pass out.

Daisy swiveled on her heels and approached Nova, twitching an ear curiously. "Hey, who're you?" she inquired, inspecting the cut on her shoulder. She twitched her nose at the scent of metallic blood, settling down on her haunches near the stranger. "Looks deep, we should get it treated. Want to follow me back to my den or sit out here and wait for that fox to come back and eat you?" Of course the feline was only joking with Nova, but had a serious glint in her eyes as she spoke. Twisting around, Daisy began grooming the injury on her shoulder, cleaning it of the blood that began to cake around it. Once she finished she laid her fur down flat and watched Nova with calm eyes. Daisy was a rather clean rogue, her fluffy, cinder colored pelt decorated with a large, Snow White tail and white ears.

Nova flinched as the stranger got closer to her, and, feeling panic rise in her chest, she began to struggle back onto her paws once more, only to fail and collapse back onto her side. She let out a weak growl, only to cut it short in surprise when the newcomer didn't attack her. Instead, this feline merely sat down and offered aid for her wound. Nova allowed herself to relax some, although still remaining alert just in case. "My name is Nova," she muttered, wincing as her cut shoulder stung like fury. "Who are you?" She fought to remain calm in this situation. She didn't answer this cat right away with the offer for help, as she couldn't necessarily walk.

Daisy watched with a humorous expression as Nova let out a feeble growl, attempting to scrabble to her paws in no avail. "Slow down kitty, I didn't drive off the fox so I could kill you," she grunted, twitching her tail tip irritably before wrapping it around her paws gently. She cocked her head to the side as she examined Nova's condition, blinking softly. "I'm Daisy. I don't live too far from here," she added, nodding in the direction from where she came. "Now, I suggest you sit there and clean that wound. I'll go catch you something to eat and maybe get some cobwebs to help stop infection from setting in, but I'm no healer so I can't offer you much after that."

Nova was unsure as to whether or not she could trust this cat, and yet she found her fur lying flat on her shoulders. Whether she liked it or not, she was in no condition to start a fight, and this cat seemed harmless enough. She let out a small growl of annoyance when this cat refused to offer up her name, and felt even more irritation seep through her bones when this cat started telling her what to do, regardless of whether or not she was right. Huffing in frustration and pain, she hauled herself into a sitting position and twisted around to feebly lick at her wound, wincing as the salty tang of blood washed over her tongue. "Just give me a moment to gain some strength," she growled to the newcomer between licks. Nova's fur was jet black, with orange and white streaks ranging from her neck down to her hindquarters. Her vibrant green eyes brimmed with the pain of her injuries, but she still remained taut and alert for any sign of aggression from this new cat.

Daisy flicked her ears in annoyance as she watched Nova grumble and do things slowly. Rolling her eyes, Daisy flexed her now stiff shoulder, whipping her tail back and forth. She watched her growl and glare Daisy's way, clearly hostile despite Daisy's actions. "What? Are you gonna attack the cat that saved your life?" she retorted, annoyed. Her gentle eyes glinted with a mischievous shimmer, watching Nova with them. "I'm just trying to help you. Not too many cats wander into my territory because it's so.. out there," she mumbled, swiveling her ears behind her as she heard the rustle of prey. She turned and disappeared in the brush for a little bit before returning with a warm mouse between her jaws, dropping it at Nova's paws.

Nova finished licking the gash on her shoulder and flicked her tail around to her mouth so that she could begin to clean that one. She wasn't bristling anymore, finally sliding into a calmer state as the cat that saved her life merely growled in annoyance at her wariness. Nova shrugged and allowed herself to completely drop her guard, wincing as she carefully laid her tail down at her front paws. She began to feel a bit guilty for being so rude to Daisy, and hoped that she could make up for it some other way. After all, this cat may just be lonely. "I'm sorry, Nova began sheepishly, her green eyes clouded with pain from her injuries. "Thank you for helping me drive off that fox. I was beginning to think I wasn't going to make it." Nova sighed and watched quietly as Daisy suddenly darted into the bushes, and she felt her mouth begin to water as the smell of freshly-killed mouse hit her nostrils. She hesitated for a moment as the stranger dropped the food at her paws before crouching down stiffly and snatching a bite out of the fresh-kill. She melted into a lower crouch as the decedent flavors seeped into her tongue, and continued to take ravishing bites out of the mouse. "You said your name was Daisy, right?" Nova mewed in between bites. "This is your territory, then? I apologize for not realizing where I was hunting." Nova paused to take another bite before swallowing and glancing back up at Daisy. "And I apologize for being so hostile earlier. It's just...I've never met another rogue that was so friendly."

Daisy chuckled at the feline's words, flicking her tail tip in a dismissive manner. "Don't worry about it, every cat is hostile around here. I'm the only one who offers a bit of hospitality to strangers," Daisy mewed easily, flexing her claws and sinking them into the dirt below. She listened to Nova's sheepish apology, shaking her head softly. "Well, it's not necessarily my territory, I just live here. A few cats come and go but I've lived here my whole life, so I know all the twists and turns of this place." Daisy's explanation was short and to the point, and before she could open her mouth to confirm Nova's question about her name, she heard a gentle mew come from the trees. Swiveling her ears behind her, Daisy stiffened. "Did you hear that?"
