Sparrowpaw looked over to his fellow apprentice, a fire burning in his eyes. The only thing that tore his gaze from Crowpaw was the sound of the blind cat crashing into the entrance of the elder’s den. To him, it hurt seeing the warrior fall so far. From the tales of glory woven by Redmoon to the ragged heap that had just smashed his head against a wall. Twice.
Didn’t any of his clanmates feel the same?
He hadn’t even seen one of the Warriors come to visit - one of the reasons he had looked so pointedly at Crowpaw. Even Squirrelpaw warned him that the old tom would probably just lash out, but his brother had not chastised him.
”I’m not talking with him, just passing on a warrior’s advice.” Not entirely untrue - after all, Pumpkinflower had told him about using whiskers in the dark before they had even joined the clan.
”And I don’t care what you think - it’s an apprentice’s duty to look after any cat in that den.” He said bluntly, his words directed towards both the cats, though he was looking at the fallen warrior. The young tom was about to continue speaking, but noticed - ”Your face is bleeding.” A frown settled onto his features as he instinctively took a step forward. He froze, remembering the cat was injured lunging for him. If he got any closer, the older tom would probably foolishly hurt himself more. ”Would you like me to get Trushwing or Finchchirp?”

RP: "No I don't want help from kitty pets and half breeds, leave me alone!" He said and swiped at them. Crowpaw twisted and pushed the younger apprentice away from the claws and got knocked in the leg.
"Crowpaw! Sparrowpaw! Get away from him!" Vixenrose yelled and scrambled to push them away from Nosight, then she bashed the blinded warrior with s sheathed paw and hissed at him. "Will you stop terrorizing the apprentices!"

"I have been pretty good." Scorchmark mewed settling down on his haunches. He remained quiet for a few minutes before speaking again. "Seems everyone is moving on from Nosight."

Sparrowpaw tolted his head, ears twitching as though he didn’t understand the tom’s words. Thrushwing was clanborn, so what was his issue with her? But before he could speak, the warrior swiped at them - though he was fast enough to spring back away from them, Crowpaw pushed him away and got hit. Then Vixenrose stepped in, making Sparrowpaw feel guilty for bothering the young queen.
”I’m sorry Vixenrose.” He mewed and looked up at her with wide gold eyes, pinning his ears back in shame. ”He wasn’t doing any harm, promise. I just came to change his bedding.” He spoke softly, gaze shifting to the dead dry moss the blind cat had been sleeping in for what had to have been the past week. Changing out the moss in the elder’s den had been a habit formed when Sparrowpaw was still in the nursery and Redmoon was still alive.
It continued once the older warrior had been moved into the hollow tree. The young tom had even snuck into the den a few times during the night (after rolling in a patch of catmint to hide his ‘kittypet’ scent from the warrior) to make sure the moss was kept fresh in various nesting places over the two moons since Nosight’s blinding. The apprentice had felt guilty that his training and the older cats had kept him from his duty over the past week, so he thought it wouldn’t hurt to try once during the day.
Guess he was wrong. But the cat was stubborn - he would come again once the sun set to make up a fresh bed on the other side of the den.

"Yes, very effective." Hawktalon said with the trace of a smile, watching as she struggled to keep the fish with her. With a snort of amusement he turned, stalking a little ways away towards the deeper part of the water. He himself had come out to hunt, so he figured he should stop joking with what was the former outsider, and try to find another young crocodile or fish. "With your splashing you've probably scared everything here."
- - -
Frostfern made no reply and kept walking. His pace had slowed considerably, and he watched the swaying grasses and a few leaves playfully swirling in the wind. It was so quiet, besides the wind, that he was sure he could just fall asleep there. But he wanted to get farther away from BriarClan, and besides- he had energy yet.
He stopped after a minute to recheck in his mind if he knew where he was going. There was a tall old cedar nearby, and he walked over to it, sniffing around the base before staring out into a stretch of thinly wooded grassland.

RP: “You both we’re told that only warriors can go near him, don’t do it again or I’ll set Ebonystar on you. Go you have other duties.” Vixenrose said seriously, Nosight scared her kits so they stayed far from the blind warrior. She didn’t think it mattered to Nosight anymore whether being clanborn or not she could tell he was embarrassed and ashamed of what he’d become but didn’t want pitty from others.

((Looking for some cat to throw Pumpkinflower or Shadowpaw at for eventual mates - moreso the warrior, since her character is a bit more developed ^^’ Any takers? ;P ))
”Bet even you couldn’t do better.” Daisypetal purred in amusement, a spark of laughter in her eyes. She dropped the fish on dry land once it had stopped struggling, quickly burying it so that predators would not find it while they continued hunting. It would need washed off before being eaten, but it was better than losing it to a hungry raccoon.
Her whiskers twitched at Hawktalon’s comment of her scaring off all the prey. She quickly licked at the fur on her chest in embarrassment, mind rushing to create a comeback. All the queen could think of was ”Which is why I am confident you can’t do better.”
She then padded with him towards the deeper part of the water, determined to watch how the warrior caught his prey.
———
Sparrowpaw dipped his head in aknowlegement of the queen’s words. He wondered if Ebonystar no longer loved Tricklestone now that he was Nosight. Would she really be angry to see someone still respecting her brother as a clanmate?
Would he disown Squirrelpaw if his brother murdered his clanmates?
Sparrowpaw knee he wouldn’t - his bond with his littermate was too deep for that. The scars he held from training with his brother proved it. Above all, he wanted to help his family.
But did Ebonystar feel the same?
With one last glance at Nosight, the long haired apprentice dipped his head to Vixenrose. ”Sorry Vixenrose.” He said before beginning to slink off, not giving any promise that he wouldn’t do it again. He didn’t expect any of the clan to understand his respect for the warrior.
After all, he had been raised hearing stories of redemption from Daisy and Pumpkin. Then once they became part of the clan, he had heard stories of great warriors and villains from the greatest warrior of all. With a glance to the sky, he silently wondered if Redmoon was watching. If she was, would she still feel heartbreak seeing her son?

( For character shipping, all my cats except Frostfern are single. Most likely to be the family type are Brackentangle, who is still slightly wary around former outsiders mind you, Eaglescreech, Hazelnutfur, Patchlight, Dandelionpetal, and Gorsefang.
Also, I noticed some age errors. Brackentangle is listed at 229 moons. XD He shoudl be 27, and their younger siblings are all 12 moons.
@ Koi We can try them if you think they'd pair well. c: @ Bramble Maybe Gorsefang x Flamheart? c: )
"Oh, almost 11 moons now, or something alike to it." Frostfern muttered in reply, continuing into the forest once he'd assured himself it was the right direction. "Which mean Silvia had her kits by now and they'd be like young warrior age. I hope they're not as bad as Heron."
- - -
Hawktalon pointedly narrowed his eyes back at her, before looking back into the waters. He swished his tail and held it, signaling for her to stop moving. If he was to catch anything, the prey would need to come back first, meaning tehy'd have to be still and quiet.
- - -
Brackentangle sat just outside the warriors den, and his ears perked when he noticed his apprentice slinking across camp. He had overheard a bit of the commotion and slowly sat up, stalking and keeping pace with Sparrowpaw. "Where you off to?" He asked a bit awkwardly. He had only just been assigned Sparrowpaw a few days earlier, so he always felt odd about being a mentor.

Daisypetal just gave Hawktalon an amused look when he looked back at her. She sat still and quiet, her golden eyes focused intently on the brown tabby. A tightness formed in her throat as she realized the warrior looked remarkably similar to Sparrowpaw and his father Finch, even with all of his scars.
Though the female kept quiet - the clan (her kits and Pumpkinflower excluded) would not care about her past. Including the male in front of her.
———
Sparrowpaw lifted his head as he heard someone fall in step beside him. Brakentangle. The warrior was a bit awkward, the apprentice noticed, but he would not point it out.
”Nowhere.” He replied somewhat half-heartedly, as though his mind were elsewhere. Almost immediately, he felt like kicking himself - this was his mentor. He’d have to get used to talking with him eventually.
But how? Sparrowpaw himself was a rather quiet cat. He sat down, turning towards the warrior with a contemplative look in his eyes. Maybe he should ask him what to do? After all, his father was involved in Tricklestone’s plot. And, Sparrowpaw assumed, the older cat respected his father greatly.
”What would you have done if Hawktalon had been branded a traitor and put in the elder’s den like Nosight?”
((Lol, funny how he has an outsider for an apprentice then xD
I’ve got no idea who Pumpkinflower would be best with, to be honest ^^’ Guess I’ll just chuck her at a few cats when she is free and see what happens xP))

Hawktalon didn't notice any change in the she-cat, as his eyes were now fixed in the water. However, he did feel the she-cat's eyes on his pelt- it was odd, being watched while he tried to hunt. It recalled to mind his mentor glaring him down when he was a nervous young apprentice, and he didn't much like it, but the thought soon faded away as he saw a flash of silver moving in the water. A small collection of fish had returned, relatively small ones who came in a tiny cluster to nibble at some water plant or other. He carefully lifted a paw, waiting until they got a bit closer. Then, once the group had moved nearly up to him, and lashed out before they could suspect a thing. Naturally several were startled away in the confusion, and he ended up having to duck his head into the water, but he came back up with two- not very impressive, they were just minnows- little fish already limp in his jaws.
- - -
Brackentangle blinked, and stopped as his apprentice did, rather more slowly sitting down, and letting his dark tail wrap around his paws. The question startled him and his face showed it, but he thought seriously over the answer.
"Well... uh, Hawktalon didn't kill anyone." He added, almost dismissively, but rethought and said. "Well... but if he was being kept like... like Nosight, then it may be a bit awkward talking to him. Otherwise I can't see how much else it'd change? I guess I'd feel upset, but..." He shrugged. "It depends? Like I said, my father wouldn't kill anybody."

Nosight growled and slashed at the den again leaving deep ragged claw marks in the wood. Ebonystar watched the predicament between her brother and the apprentices, she watched as Crowpaw went to the medicine cat den for his cut. She jumped down into the light and landed next to Sparrowpaw and Brakentangle.
Breezefeather returned to the camp dripping wet and with a fat marsh fish in her mouth long enough that its tail dragged in the dirt. She nearly tripped on the fish but she caught herself and made her way to the pile.

((All right! I gotta poof for a while though - I’ll either be on super late tonight or tomorrow morning!))
Daisypetal’s eyes shone brightly as she saw the tom catch two fish in one swift movement. Though they were just small fish, it was still impressive that he caught two of them. But she felt like joking with him about it, if only to shake off the odd feeling that settled in her gut.
”Impressive, but I told you so - you couldn’t do better than me.” She purred, looking the minnows over. The fish she had caught was rather large in comparison, and she couldn’t help but point it out.
((Dunno if I said it, but was imagining a catfish when she nabbed it.))
———
”But if he had killed someone, would you still respect and care for-“ Sparrowpaw cut his sentence short as he heard their leader approach, curling his tail around his paws almost defensively. The tip of his tail flicked slowly and he smiled softly to his leader. ”Hello, Ebonystar!”

Sparrowpaw looked at Ebonystar blankly. What did she want him to say - that he didn’t? Or was she waiting for some sort of explanation? So the tip of his tail slowly flicked, the young apprentice knowing he had to at least say something.
”Yes, I did.” He said in a straightforward manner, as though there weren’t even a reason for her to be confronting him on the matter. After all, she didn’t seem surprised that he was over there again - she had probably seen him changing the moss at least once over the course of the past two moons. Did she only approach him about it now because he had gone over there during the day?
