"I never said I wanted to kill you, I just said we'd be enemies," Farlow huffed, though there was glimmer in his gaze. He merely watched as Ash laughed, displaying very little of his own emotion as he waited. When Ash agreed, Farlow seemed to stare at him with great intensity for a few moments. Then he nodded. "I'll bring them over sometime. I've been wanting to bring them out for a while. They haven't been able to see or learn much of the world yet. It would be good experience. I feel that you are trustworthy. And if you're not? You'll regret it. I don't care how tough you are. If you harm a hair on their heads..." He touched the sword sheathed at his back, before lowering his hand. There was a fiery protectiveness in his gaze. A warning. The look gradually disappeared, replaced by a more calm expression. "But I have a feeling it won't come to that." --- (Heheh.)
Pip winced and pulled away. "You'ah not just like me. Just a little. No, a'course not! No... Stop! Just stop!" She was becoming defensive. "I- I..." she couldn't think of anything to say. Normally, she was always full of words, full of excuses, full of lies. Not today. Her eyes locked onto a garbage can behind Masaki. "What's that?" she asked, pretending to see something. She tried to walk past Masaki and towards the garbage can.

"Being enemies can escalate to killing, you know. Things go too far and the next thing you know you got a dead body in front of you" Ash said before rolling his eyes "You're a really serious person though. Don't worry I'm not going to touch them. Besides I'm more worried about them than I am about you. I don't know what they can do, what their powers are but even if you are a master swordsman, you still have to get in close which is where I'm a pretty decent fighter. Plus I'm not an idiot who is going to attack 3 people at once"
Masaki put a hand to his face and shook his head. It was so obvious as to what she was trying to do "I'm not stupid, you know" he said "Can you just answer my question? C'mon I even told you something that I most likely shouldn't have since who knows what you will do with that information." Masaki turned and started to follow her "Besides I highly doubt someone is going to throw my necklace into the trash since the thing is made out of actual gold."

"If that's what it takes to protect them, so be it," Farlow said, closing his eyes. He knew from his short time sparring Ash, that the wolf was powerful, but he wasn't about to admit weakness. He still had a few in battle tricks he hadn't showed Ash yet, though he was sure Ash had plenty of his own. When Ash replied, Farlow opened his eyes and watched him, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "I don't know. If they take a liking to you, just the two of them might be more than you can handle," he teased, playing his vague games again. --- Pip was pretty much stomping towards that garbage can. Then all at once, she came to a stop a few feet in front of the garbage can and abruptly turned to look at Masaki. "They were mean, okay? I was tired of it. Tired of them taking advantage of me, just because I was little. I was tired of being unable to do anything. I was angry. So I... So I..." Everything was spilling out and Pip could barely contain herself. She could remember the frustration. How it fuelled her to grow big. Bigger than she had ever been since. She glared at Masaki with tear-filled eyes. "So what? You gonna burn me alive? You gonna make me regret what I did? Because I don't! I don't regret a thing!"

Ash sighed "You always so vague with what you say? Feel like I'm talking to a damn riddler at this point" he said "Well at this point all I can really hope for is that they don't attack me on sight. Not going to get my hopes up about anything though. So any idea as to when you'll bring them over?"
Masaki looked surprised at her sudden outburst and he put his hands up in front of him "What are you talking about? Are you saying you killed a few people?" He asked "Why the hell would I burn you though? You seem like a nice girl and from what you're telling me it sounds like you were pushed to close to the edge before you snapped. Doesn't make you a bad person at least not to me. What I did to that guy was probably worse than what you did anyways."

Farlow merely smiled at his first response. He was fairly certain they would be safe with him. Ash was a man before a wolf. By the sound of things, he knew very well, the nuances of mankind and was clearly against it. At the same time, Ash knew far more about the intricacies of mankind than Farlow could ever hope to achieve. "Tomorrow," he replied. This meeting had turned out much differently than he would have expected, but he liked this new direction they were going. It was better to have more allies than more enemies. --- "Oh yeah? Even if it destroyed the entiah block? Even if the police and you hero types came after me? Even if I've had this the entire time?" Pip pulled out Masaki's necklace, and held it out, clutched within her fist. Everything was bursting out now, she could no longer contain herself. So much for her plan to surprise him. "That's right. I steal. I take. I deceive, just to get what I want!" She started backing away. She could see the newspaper in her mind's eye now. A picture of herself as a giant plastered on the front page. Back then, she didn't put her hair up. It used to hang down in long wavy dark strands. MIRACLE CURE GONE WRONG! The girl named Tina Kelly no longer the miracle child, but a failure. That had been two years ago. After all that time, she was leaking everything out now. To this man. To this... hero of sorts.

Ash raised an eyebrow "Tomorrow? That's pretty short notice. Luckily I've got an open schedule tomorrow" he joked "But I will wait here if this is a good spot to meet for you. Unless you have a different place you want to meet at" he added as he got up from where he was sitting
Masaki had no idea where this sudden outburst was coming from and he didn't know why she was blowing up on him when he had been nothing but nice to her. He was surprised when she told him some more detail on what had happened. He wondered why he had never heard of an incident which would have made probably global news but then again, Masaki was never really one to pay attention to the news. When Pip took out his necklace his eyes widened before quickly narrowing and he started walking towards her so that he could get his necklace back. "You know I was going to try and comfort you since you've clearly had a hard time but screw that. You had no right to take my necklace so unless you want me to use force to get it, I would hand it back" he said trying to contain his anger as best as he could. He had been nothing but nice to this girl and what did she do? Took advantage of it and lied to his face. Masaki held out a hand for the necklace "Give it now" he said

Farlow glanced around before nodding. "Here will work." He pushed himself from his position at the tree and strode towards the pond. He stopped when the fallen mouse was just before his feet. "Here's a little something incase you're hungry. It might not be much, but it'll at least hold it off a little. A little something for agreeing not eating me," he teased. --- There it was. The look. It was the look people always gave her when they found out she was a thief- what they called a criminal. Why had she dared hope that this man would be different? "Take it! I don't want that stupid necklace anymore!" Pip practically threw it at him. "Keep it somewhere safe this time!" she snapped before turning and striding away. She knew this exposed her back, but in the heat of the moment, she didn't really care.

Ash nodded and gave Farlow a small smile "Thanks. It'll give me a little bit of energy for when I go hunting again. But I'll be sure to be around here around noon and I'll stay here until the sun is about to set so you don't have to worry too much about the time." he said before he decided to change the topic "So why were you around here today? You live around here?"
Masaki caught the necklace "Don't expect a thanks from me" he said as he watched her walk away. He was tempted to stop her where she was but he figured that since he got his necklace back he should let her go. "Damn waste of $60 if you ask me. Basically got cheated" he muttered to himself

"Just on the other side of the trees. That's where I'm going," Farlow replied with a slight smile. There was flat land there that hadn't been farmed, probably to keep away from the forest, which was usually avoided. --- (Whatever you want. Whatever it would be most likely for Masaki to do. ^^ I'm fine either way.) (She didn't do anything to him this time. :3 But given the right circumstances if they ever meet again, she may or may not. Actually, because he made such a good first expression, she'd be unlikely to ever purposefully do him harm.)
Pip walked quickly away, gradually picking up speed. Pretty soon she was racing down the sidewalk. Tears streamed down her cheeks and blurred her eyes as she ran. It was her own fault. She should have continued pretending. Didn't she know it was always easier to pretend? She should know that by now. She finally slowed when she came across a busy sidewalk and she tugged her hood back up, before slipping in among the people. Images of her time with Masaki flashed through her mind, even as she tried to shove them aside. She was going to have to lay low for a while.
"Nooo!" Ray groaned from within the pocket. So close to freedom, and he couldn't quite reach it. The shrunken man sagged within the pocket, giving up for the time being on thoughts of escape. It wasn't like this crazy girl was going to let him go any time soon. Too bad nobody could hear his voice when he was stuffed in this pocket.

Ash nodded "The flat lands are pretty much the only thing in that direction. If you don't mind me asking, whats over there? My first guess would be that that's where you live" he said
Masaki looked down at the necklace still in his hand and gripped it tighter, feeling the points from the muzzle and ears dig into his skin. He could practically hear his father chastising him over how he had ended that whole thing with Pip causing Masaki to sigh. "Damn it old man. Even when you're dead you still talk my ear off" he muttered to himself. Masaki figured maybe he should go and find her. As furious as he was that she had almost taken off with his necklace, he also couldn't help but pity her. From what little he had figured out, she seemed to be lonely and misunderstood something he could somewhat relate to. The only problem right now was finding where she had gone. She could have just kept going straight due to her being upset or she could have taken a bunch of twists and turns, making it nigh impossible for him to find her in the city. HMasaki figured standing around and doing nothing wouldn't really help so he took off in a jog in the direction Pip had left.

(Aw man. Retyping it from scratch?)
"And if it is?" Farlow questioned with a raise of his eyebrows. "I was surprised how much had changed when I came back. But at least there is a little piece of unblemished home left here." Farlow turned away and took in a deep breath of forest air. --- There were people everywhere. They had been her cover earlier, now they were just a nuisance. Pip just wanted to be left alone. She finally came across a less busy sidewalk, where she walked onwards, staring at the cement at her feet. She paused at a shadowy turn, before walking onto the old dirt road. Her feet scuffed the ground, causing dust to rise in little poofs of air. When she came to a dead end, she sunk down to sit in the dirt and sobbed openly. With shaky hands, she pulled tiny Ray from her pocket. "I guess it's just you an' me now..."
Ray's eyes widened when the large fingers plucked him from the pocket. He didn't know if he'd ever get used to this. Soon he was being held on her hand, looking up at her tear soaked face. A couple of the tears splashed on his head, not that Ray could feel it, but he could see it. "So now you're giving me a bath, huh? I'm not just some doll, you know?" Like usual, she didn't seem to listen to his words. She wrapped her hands around his lower half and brought him to her chest, just under her neck. She held him there as she sobbed. It was like a hug of sorts. Like how a child would hug a doll.
"You'll never leave me, right?" Pip murmured through her shaky breaths.
"It's not like I have a choice," Ray muttered.
"I have ta be mo' careful. People may seem different, but when they find out the truth, they all act the same. Everyone, except fo' you. Because you'a like me."
"I'm not so sure about that. I really don't know what gives you that impression."

sadly yes)
Ash gave a shrug to Farlow's question"Could honestly care less. Though with being an animal, it's not the smartest place for a smaller animal like yourself to make their home. I guess I shouldn't worry since you can turn into that if things get too tough" he said
Masaki was really wishing he had his mask on him right now. It would make this whole thing faster but with the more crowded streets, it wouldn't be wise to use his power. Honestly he shouldn't have used it earlier and could only imagine how many people saw his face while flying. Right now he was in between running and jogging, dodging in between people so that he didn't bump into them as he made his way to where he hoped Pip was

(Oof.)
"What, you think it would be safer here?" Farlow chuckled. "It's our natural home. We live in the tunnels of prairie dogs. Or they used to..." He broke away from the thought and licked his lips. "Prairie dogs... On my way back, I'll probably drop by this potential spot I've noticed the last couple days." He smiled at the thought and wiped some drool from his mouth with the back of his black hand. --- (Extra information: Ray looks like he's in his thirties.)
"You had no moneh, and you wa'all lonely," Pip replied, pulling Ray away from her chest and looking at him. "So you'ah like me."
Ray stared back with an unimpressed look. "Like I've told you for the last fifty times, I have a family. I might have no money, but has it ever occurred to you that I WANTED to be alone?"
"Nobodeh wants ta be alone..." Pip argued, frowning a little. She was starting to stand. Ray knew what that meant. "Now stay he'ah where I can keep you safe," she murmured, as she "gently" transferred Ray back into his pocket prison.
Great. Just Great. Now he was back where he started.
Pip wiped her tear puffed face and adjusted her hood before walking back towards the main sidewalk. Once again, Ray had succeeded in distracting her from her frustrations.

"Eh, don't know much about ferrets in the first place so you'd obviously know better than me on what's safer for you" Ash said noticing Farlow's pause. Something must have happened to his family. Probably all dead he though to himself. "Never had prairie dog before. Then again I don't go to the flat lands often. Too wide open so a hunter has a clear shot on me if there are any."
(oh geez don't think Masaki is going to like that at all if he finds out)
Masaki was running down the streets he saw a few people who had similar hoodies to the one he had seen Pip wearing. After stopping them and realizing that they weren't her, he gave a quick apology each time before he took off running again. He was starting to lose hope and decided that if he couldn't find her in the next half hour he would give up. He once again saw a familiar looking hoodie and ran towards the person wearing it "Hey Pip, *huff* is that you?" He asked nearly out of breath at this point

"See? You larger predators are better suited to the forest than us little critters who can slip into small places. I won't be living there forever though, not the way things are going." Farlow smirked at the comment about prairie dogs. "We'll see what we can do about that." He looked down at his hand and clenched and unclenched his fist. He was running out of time. His energy was beginning to wane. --- (Heheh. Whaaat? But he's just a shy pet that doesn't like strangers! XD Yeah Pip is... an interesting character. She has a cute side, yes, but there's a little more to her than that. Some faults that will eventually be adjusted as the character develops. Interested to see how things pan out. :3)
Pip just turned out of the alley and began walking down the sidewalk when Masaki's voice called out from behind her. She had thought she had finally got past all of this! She spun around, her puffy face catching the light. "What else d'ya want! I already gave ya the necklace!" she snapped, her amber eyes glaring. "What, you want to take me in to the cops now?"

"You got that right. We'd prefer not to be out in the open when we hunt since then it makes it that much more difficult for us to catch our prey." Ash said with a small smile "I doubt you would want to share your prey with me. If you kill it, you should be the one to eat it. Besides it would take a lot more than just one of them to fill me up I'm sure" he added as he noticed Farlow clenching and unclenching his fist "Something wrong?"
(you can say that again lol. well I hope Masaki can have even a small part in helping her develop)
Masaki stopped in front of Pip and hunched over, gasping for air "Ran *pant* all the way *pant* here and the first thing you do is snap at me?" He asked before straightening himself. "I wanted to apologize for looking like an ass. The only reason I got mad was because you took the one thing I have left that I hold dear. I'd have to be practically insane to not get at least a little pissed, though I'll be honest still am a little but that's beside the point. Look can you tell me what happened to you that made you feel like you got to steal? You seem like a nice girl that drew the short end of the stick in life and I want to see if I can help"

Farlow merely huffed in amusement in response to Ash's comment about prey. He didn't bother to argue, because his mind was already made up. He lifted his gaze back to Ash when the once-man noticed his little strength test. "There's only so long I can stay in this form. I'll have to go soon."
(Lol. Everyone who makes contact with my characters partakes in their development. The more contact, the more change. :3)
Pip's eyes widened and the hostility vanished. "You ran all the way he'ah to... help... me?" Behind the mask of hostility, something small and wanting flickered deep within her amber gaze. "Even afta everything I did and said..? You still think I'm... nice?" She looked down at the cement, blushing slightly. "I used to have everything, ya know? After the incident, I became hunted. Like a monstah. I had to go into hiding. And since they took everything from me, I guess that means I'm free to take anything from them..." She dared to look up at him, judging his response.

Ash motioned his hand as if to say "you can go". "Seems like a pretty short time that you're able to stay in that form but I guess I'll talk to you more tomorrow." he said "It was nice talking to you while it lasted though"
"I mean half the things you said were fueled while your emotions were running high. Honestly it's happened to me more times than I can count so it would be kinda hypocritical for me to judge you because of that. But yes you seem nice even though you took my necklace. While talking to you, I think I caught glimpses of who you used to be a fun and carefree girl that had a place in her heart for everyone before that whole incident took that from you" Masaki said before he listened to her story "Well looks like I was partly right" he said "Man I was going to say something like 'two wrongs don't make a right' but that's even more hypocritical of me. But you know you can't just go around takings things right?"

(Does Masaki wear the same clothes as in your profile picture?)
Farlow nodded in response. "See you then, friend." He seemed to disappear, the only evidence that he was still there being the ferret standing where his feet once were. Farlow the ferret looked at Ash for a few moments, then turned and leapt away through the forest. His ability has been growing shorter. Pretty soon it would be up to them to carry future. He had to do all he could to ensure their future before that came to pass. --- Pip blushed further, but it began to fade when she faced him with a rather serious expression. An expression that begged understanding. "Why not? They have plenty mo' where that came from. It's just a little sometin' for me to live off of. Besides... Now I gotta bring in what I can so I..." Pip's voice trailed off and her eyes flicked around uncomfortably.

A small smile appeared on Ash's face when Farlow left "Friend, huh? Haven't actually had one of those in a while" he said before shifting back into his wolf form. His head bent down towards the mouse and he picked it up before going back towards his den.
Masaki thought for a moment as he tried to think of a way to answer her question "Well because one it's not the right thing and two just because they have things doesn't necessarily mean they have more. Let's use my necklace for example and say you ended up selling it. While I could easily go and buy a new one there is sentimental value to it which cannot be replaced. Now let's use you taking money, yes they may be able to easily get some more but you never know what their situation is. They could be living day by day with barely any money to feed themselves. Or they may have families that are struggling due to them being poor." He explained

(For Ash and Farlow, shall we skip to tomorrow? :3 Unless you have other plans.)
--- (Ah. So he'd wear his hair down, not in any sort of headband?)
Pip frowned. "It's not like I steal from the starving. Who do you think I am? A strong, healthy guy like yourself doesn't look like someone who's about to die from starvation." She crossed her arms and started walking. She beckoned Masaki to follow. "And you know, you'a one of the special ones. I was gonna give it back, because you'a nice. Most people would assume the worst of me, but you didn't."

sorry got caught up playing the witcher 3) (dont have anything planned for Ash so we can skip to the next day) (he likes to use hair gel to spike out his hair but after everything that has happened today including facing an ice user, I'd say the gel wore out so his hair is just a mess lol)
Masaki chuckled "Didn't your parents ever tell you don't judge a book by it's cover. Just because someone appears strong and healthy doesn't mean anything. What if you stole money from someone who has an extremely sick child with say like cancer. The treatment for it is not cheap and sometimes families struggle to pay for it" he said as he started to follow her "I try to live by the idea that I should be nice to everyone unless they warrant me to treat them in a different way. Will be honest you are on thin ice currently"
(holy crap just did a quick search and some cancer medication can cost up to 65 grand wtf)

(Heheh. All good.)
Farlow stopped when he approached the hole he said he'd drop by. He was still for a few moments, his nose twitching. In a flash he was gone, darting down the hole. A few minutes later, he dragged a prairie dog from the depths. He took a couple seconds to catch his breath before dragging it along with him on his way to his home. There was a little hill with a hole dug into it. Farlow slipped inside, dragging the prairie dog behind him. Excited squeaks filled the air.
The sun rose high in the sky and Farlow stirred everyone from their sleep. He stepped out into the sun and glanced back. A ball of fur barrelled past him, scampering out onto the open plain. The little ferret was full of energy. She skidded to a stop in front of a grasshopper. She looked normal for a young ferret all except for a bit of white hair covering her forehead and bright turquoise eyes. This was Finla. Farlow chuckled to himself, but continued to wait. A second little ferret padded sleepily out of the hole. He didn't look very excited for the trek ahead. Long black strands of fur hung over his face and unlike his father and sister, he had human eyes in this form. His eyes were yellow like his father, but with a hint of orange. This was Lowen. All of them bore the markings of a black-footed ferret. Finla came bounding up to her father, a grasshopper caught between her sharp teeth. Farlow looked at her in approval. Lowen rolled his eyes as he joined them. Farlow strode back to the prairie dog he had caught just that morning and began to carry/drag it along. Finla bounced along, following her father, while Lowen trailed behind. Soon enough they had arrived at the forest, and with a muffled chitter, Farlow warned them to stay close. Wide-eyed at their new surroundings, they both obeyed. --- (Lol. Okay. Just letting you know, the pictures won't be as good as their originals, XD I'm not that good. But I'll try. :3)
"You should tell my parents that..." Pip mumbled. She peered at him from the corner of her eye. "Well then they should learn to get what they need ta make that kid bettah," she argued, more out of stubbornness than reason. In fact, many of these scenarios had never occurred to her. She always assumed that everyone had everything she had lost. She thought if she got that stuff back, she would feel whole again. Has it been working? No. But that meant she just needed more, right? "So, what's stoppin' ya from taking me to the cops right now?"
(Man, I guess it's for the cost needed to afford all the stuff needed, but still... Crazy.)

Ash was already near the meeting spot. He had already gone hunting and ended up being successful in his hunt. He was currently eating a deer in his wolf form. Since it would take a little bit for him to finish the deer off himself, he had dragged it to the meeting spot. He was scanning his surroundings to see if he can spot Farlow or catch his scent. He figured that he should be looking for the ferrets after finding out the he can only stay in his human form for a limited time
(Don't worry I'm not expecting perfection. I'll just be happy to see more art of Masaki lol)
Masaki sighed "They usually do know what to get for their kid and of they don't a doctor will. Thing is some of these medications cost way too much. Like a couple hundred dollars for a small bottle of pills with certain insurances." He said "There's just a few reasons why I haven't tried taking you to the cops but the main reason why is because I want to know why you steal."

Finla drew near to the prairie dog Farlow carried and made a pleading squeak. Farlow let out a muffled chitter and gave her a look that quickly seemed to deflate her spirits. Farlow was about to say more when a familiar scent hit his nose. He grinned. He motioned with a soft chitter to his children to stay back until he called. He glanced back to see if they understood, but only Lowen stood there with an annoyed look. Lowen jerked his head towards the bush up ahead.
Finla bounded into the bush. There were so many strange and new scents here. As frightening as it was, it was hard not to get excited. She burst out the other side into a clearing by a small pond. She tumbled out into the open, rolling to a stop in the wolf's shadow. She shook her head and looked up to see what was blocking the dappled sunlight that reached the little clearing. "EEEEEEK!" she squeaked, tumbling away. She froze in a downward dog position a few feet away and spat at the ginormous wolf and its bloodstained jaws. After a few moments, however, her turquoise gaze took on a new light. Was this the wolf her father had been talking about? She dared venture a little closer to the wolf, slowly, but curiously.
Farlow and Lowen burst out of the bushes behind her. Farlow displayed relief, while Lowen looked on in terror, certain his sister was about to be eaten. Farlow touched his tail to Lowen's back and Lowen looked at his father as if he was insane. Why wasn't he doing anything? --- (Okay, good. Heheh. XD Didn't want to crush any hopes or anything.) (Oh man. I'm just picturing how whack things will turn out if he tries to take her to the police. XD)
Pip lifted her nose. "Then they should take it for themselves. Why bothah with moneh, when ya could just take it?" Pip frowned further. It sounded like she wasn't going to have any more fun with this guy. He was all business now that he knew who she was. "Why? Because I want to. Where else am I gonna get what I need?"

Ash stopped his eating as soon as he heard the bush rustle near him. When he saw the little ferret come out from it, he couldn't help but smile on the inside. Seems like Farlow told the truth He thought to himself. Although he would never say it out loud, Ash was extremely happy that Farlow kept to his word. He used to be incredibly social and after yesterday found that he still loved just talking and now he had two more potential people to talk to. Ash put his head down closer to the ground so that he could get a closer look at Finla to which the first thing he noticed were her turquoise eyes. He didn't make a move at all as he watched her get closer to him
(i don't think it would end well at all for Masaki though. Honestly he may be in way over his head lol)
Masaki sighed once again. This girl was becoming more of a hassle than he had originally thought. He silently cursed her parents for not teaching her anything about the world and how it works "Because if everyone took what they wanted, society wouldn't be able to function properly. We need money so we can have things made. Without money we most likely wouldn't be as technologically advanced as we are now. We wouldn't have doctors or policemen or firefighters. The whole world would devolve into chaos that would cause tons of people to die. There would be no one to stop someone from killing someone else and no one to save them either. As horrible as it sounds, money makes the world go round" he said "And what do you think you need? Other than money that is"

Finla felt a burst of confidence. It must be the wolf her father had been speaking about! She scampered right up to him and stopped directly in front of his muzzle. She took in a big whiff of his scent, stretching her neck out. Then she jumped, setting her paws on the top of Ash's nose and looking into his eyes. After all, eyes were the window to within, right? If she looked hard enough, maybe she could see who this wolf really was inside.
"DON'T! Finla!" Lowen was barrelling forwards, leaving Farlow somewhat surprised, but ultimately proud that his children were looking out for each other. Unlike his sister and his father, Lowen had the ability to speak in his animal form. His fur was bristled, and the long tufts of dark hair on his head were all messed up in his panic. He tripped and tumbled. As he tumbled, he started to transform. By the time he rolled to his feet, he was about four feet tall and took a bipedal form. He took on no new features than he didn't already have, so he was still mostly ferret. His fingers were outstretched like claws (though they weren't very sharp) and he bared his many sharp, pointy teeth. "Get away from my sister!"
Farlow chuckled, stepping forwards in his humanoid form. He set a hand on Lowen's head as he stepped up beside his son. "Relax. This is the wolf I was telling you about. This is Ash."
"But what if Finla gets eaten!? We gotta protect her!"
"She's safe. We made a deal." Farlow lifted his gaze to meet Ash's. --- (I can see a few ways he could escape if he's caught. A part of it depends how hot his flames can get, or how much of a smooth-talker he is. And even if he does get lumped in with Ray somehow, it'll make things interesting when she gets home. :3 I'm trying not to spoil too much possibility. It all depends what happens. XD)
Pip thought back, remembering her childhood experiences with doctors. "I think the world could do without these 'doctoahs' and 'police'. I dunno about firefightah's, but I've had enough o' people meddling in my affairs. I'm gonna do things my way and that's that. Nobodeh's gonna stop me no longa. Since the world took everything from me, I'm gonna take everything from the world. It's not like I want people to die, but people die. Evereh day, someone else passes away. A little bit o' chaos will teach them what it's like to be the little one. Maybe then they'll learn. Maybe then... I'll find what I'm looking for." Would she actually go that far? Likely not. She was mostly rambling at this point. It was the first time she was really able to freely explain herself to someone, but it had been so long that she wasn't even really that sure how that worked. Most of her life was a lie. What then was the truth? "Food, warmth, a safe place to live? I don't know, okay?!"

𝕊𝕙𝕒𝕕𝕠𝕨 (Lennox is a smol bean who needs to be protected. Also, lemme just say, Maxwell’s reactions to her are adorable.) Lennox didn’t seem to notice his reactions. She trotted, snickering slightly as her paws hit the ground, before looking back at Maxwell with big, wide, adorable eyes. She then looked away, bashfully. Oh, she felt like a nuisance, but she assured herself that they were friends. Noticing the light, she took a little running start, jumping into the air, before turning into a Phoenix, though her wings seemed to only look like fire rather than actually be on fire. Black marks still lined her body, and those eyes remained scarlet, an unchanging thing, it seemed. She flew around, landing on Maxwell’s shoulder with a smile, “You showed off earlier, I felt like I had to too!” (Lennox is the best bean. How could anyone not react to adorableness. Maxwell: He had no idea what to say. All he did was smile at her, a bright, unimpeded smile, and walked the rest of the way to the light. As sun hit his skin and scales once more, he let out a small sigh of relief. "Well. You're here now- you've got the chance to fly free." It seemed an offer, if she had changed her mind on staying with him. Maxwell knew danger would follow wherever he went, but it was equally true that his strength was safety.

(Dun dun dunnn! Four! Four animal transforming characters!) (Aw thanks. You as well!) Blink couldn't help but chuckle when she dropped into the water. So she had a plan after all. He didn't know why he had been worried. Yeesh. With the workings of Fernando and Hornet, he was becoming soft. When she wrapped her arms around his torso, he felt himself stiffen. It wasn't the same as Hornet's touch, but something about it made him feel a wave of something he couldn't quite recognize. He didn't stop to think about it. He pressed the handles forwards and before he knew it, the jetski roared to life and they were flying down the river. It reminded him of his motorcycle. He could get used to this. (<3)Katie: They'd escaped. With the cure intact, they'd been lucky, and escaped with enough to cure both of their siblings. She couldn't hold back her smile of delight as they veered away from the scene. This young man, this partner, was going to save her brother. She knew it wasn't necessarily for her brother, but it felt that way. And when this worked, not if but when, she would thank Blink.
