Jerome shook his head in astonishment."When in a thousand years did letting an organization that has a lair underground and kidnaps people and almost blinds me take your daughter become a good idea?"

Hornet shook her head, even as the pain finally subsided. "I.. I think I am now. But that was terrifying." Upon her forehead, a small symbol had begun to form- the same one as when she was controlled, only this time, being carved in as a wound. A tiny trickle of blood fell down her face, and as soon as she noticed it, she yelped in surprise.

"They said they'd take her in and teach her how to use her powers. They never said that they'd go to such measures," Rosie's father replied, his gaze dark.
Rosie's mother stepped forwards, starting to reach out. "I'm glad you made it out okay. We shouldn't have sent you to them. We should have made them give us more information..."
Rosie took a step back. "You lied to me. Not only about the weather, but also about going on vacation, didn't you? I thought it was strange how you left so suddenly without telling me anything. And all the presents the day before..?"

"As much as I'd like to take your side on this,"Jerome began,"I have to go with Rosie. You tried to send her to strangers. You could've tried yourself or gotten someone a little closer. If she hadn't have met me and brought me here, she would probably have never seen you again or be even be dead."He reasoned, trying to catch both parties.

Zed stared as the symbol formed on Hornet's forehead. "Uhh... That is definately not good." Doubt flickered in his eyes. He'd have to look in his books, but the symbol most certainly didn't seem to be a good thing. Just who had Waro brought into his lab? "Do you uh, usually have marks mysteriously appear on your forehead?" Maybe she would know more info on it. As he spoke, he let her go and backed away. Myserious marks that carve themselves onto people's foreheads was not something he trusted.

"We didn't know who else to turn to," Rosie's mother said. She looked directly at Jerome and extended a hand. "Thank you, kind sir, for looking after our daughter. We owe you much."
"From now on there will be no more secerets. No more lies," Rosie's father vowed. "We're just glad to have you back in one piece." He looked at Jerome. "What could we do for you, sir. How could we ever repay you."
Rosie was quiet for a time, still taking it all in. All different kinds of emotions were flooding through her, and in the middle of it, a new idea was beginning to form.

It was in the exact same location as before, when those two boys saved her from mind control. Now it was returning, but with more prominence. "Wait, where's Blink? He might know!"

"Keep Rosie close."Jerome replied to them."She's sweet and nice and what's needed from the world.Don't let it go sour by keeping things from her when they need to be spilled."

"Maybe... I'll go get him," Zed replied somewhat skeptically, before turning and approaching the door Blink had exited earlier. "Yo, Waro! There's something weird going on with your girlfriend!"
Silence.
"No, seriously dude. She has this weird mark on her face," Zed called once more, grabbing the doorknob. Suddenly the door slammed open, Blink stepped out. Zed had just managed to jump back. Blink's features hardened when he saw Hornet and the mark on her forehead. He shoved Zed behind him, and strode towards Hornet with cold ice blue eyes. One hand clutched his staff. The unweighted one. The one he called Fernando. --- Rosie finally stepped forwards and accepted her mother's hug. Her father also joined the embrace. "I love you guys, even if you did mess up. Though you were right about one thing. I need someone to help me with my powers." She parted from the hug and looked at Jerome. "And I think I know who that is."

Hornet took a step back in surprise, reaching for her weapon as he approached. She opened her mouth to reply, but he cut her off.

Blink stopped about five feet away, though he did not lift, nor lower his weapon. Instead, he extended his free hand. "Give me your weapon." Short and simple, just like that. No explanation.

She gripped tighter for a moment. But, seeing the cold resolve, she knew the warrior would have it anyway. One way or another. So Hornet unsheathed it and carefully handed Nail over, almost like a feather in her hands.

Blink took hold of it, and nodded to Hornet. She seemed to still have her wits, but he couldn't trust her while she wore that mark on her head. The same mark Isaac had noticed earlier. He turned partially, but kept his eyes on Hornet. "Zed. Put this in a safe place. And carefully."
Zed came forwards. He didn't know where Blink was getting at with this, but despite his secretive wierdness, he trusted him. He took the needle, and was facinated by it's light weight and build. He moved to exit the right door.
Blink stared intently at Hornet's forehead. "How did this happen? Do you feel... strange? Weird? Off?"

She shook her head. "No, not right now. But before, I had a huge headache. What's going on? Is it the same as before?"

Blink reached forwards and touched the mark on her forehead. It was as if it was cut into her skin. "It's the same mark, but it doesn't seem to be affecting you like before. Not yet, anyways." He frowned. "Burn thought it was what had been controlling you. Do you remember what happened to you before you met us?"

"It's starting to come back a bit. I was looking into some weird sounds near my village. People were saying it was haunted, that some evil sorcerer lived nearby. So I investigated, and fought some kind of beast... and met someone in a black cloak. That's it, though." Hornet rubbed her forearm, trying to ignore the touch of his hand.

Blink rubbed his chin, deep in thought. A man in a black cloak. That was pretty vague, but he sounded dangerous. He wondered if Isaac would know anything more about mysterious marks. She could turn against him at any moment, and yet, it seemed cruel to lock her up, when he didn't even know exactly what was going on. He supposed he'd just have to keep a close eyes on her. What a pain this was turning out to be... Unless- The slightest of twitches at the corner of his mouth hinted at a smile. Then it died. No, that wouldn't work. He didn't have any way to contact him. "Well, I guess you're going to be stuck here for a while, as we figure out whether or not that mark is dangerous," he concluded finally, even though in his mind, he felt the mark was very dangerous. He felt a sense of dread every time he looked at it. "I hope you weren't needing to go anywhere." --- Rosie's parents exchanged a glance. "When will you be starting?"

"No? What about that village you mentioned?" Blink asked. He might as well talk to her a little bit, and see if she went through any changes in the next few minutes. He walked over to one side of the room and pulled out a chair, motioning for her to sit. --- "Others..? Oh. You're leaving right away? At least stay for dinner," Rosie's mother offered.

Rosie's mother nodded. "Of course. I'll go get it ready." And with that, she disappeared into the kitchen.
"You mean to warn them about those people who lied to us, and ended up hurting you two?" her father asked Jerome, his eyes narrowed.

Rosie's father nodded.
"I'm going to go set the table!" Rosie announced with a little wave, before slipping into the kitchen.
"You better take good care of her..." her father warned Jerome. Based on appearance, he seemed less trustworthy than those he met before. According to his daughter's words however, Jerome was trustworthy. He honestly didn't know what to think anymore. All he wanted to do now, was to keep his girl at home, away from the danger and the craziness of the world. Though he knew he'd never be able to do that. Not anymore. Not now that she knew. She was growing up, and was striving on her own path.

Jerome chuckled."I just saved her life.If I wasn't going to take care of her,I would've left her there."He gazed at Rosie's father."I'd hate to wonder what would've happened to Rosie if she had been raised by people who weren't like you."He said at last.

Rosie's father smiled. But before he could say anything, Rosie popped her head out of the kitchen. "It's ready!"
Turned out the meal that day was spaghetti and meat sauce. It had been on the stove when Rosie and Jerome arrived, which was why it hadn't taken long to prepare. There was a small table by the kitchen that could seat up to four people. The pot of spaghetti was on the middle of the table.

Rosie smiled, and took Jerome's hand. Her mother also extended a hand. Her father was already holding her hand and her mother's hand. They said a quick prayer and served out spaghetti on their plates. "Dig in. There's lots to go around," her mother said warmly.
